Christel entered inside the base behind the group seeing they were heading down a narrow corridor, she couldn't see what was ahead of the Mechtoid since it was taller than she was and trying to see around it was very difficult. She kept a small gap behind the group so if anything was going to attack the group and if they were away from the direction she was looking at. She could use her Plasma Sniper Rifle to attack and defend. She could then hear alarms blaring which must mean they have been spotted by either the Ethereal or the Ethereal's troops making her feel nervous now she and the group will be in danger of being attacked. "Team get ready for incoming attacks" The Sectoid Commander says as the corridor widened since they entered into some kind of room. Christel looks around her and hides behind what looks like some kind of metal step with the Viper next to her. "Human, stay behind us. We will handle the attacks. Your too important for us to lose" The Viper says making her feel like they don't trust her enough but understands they want to protect her.
She soon could hear sounds of weapons being fired, she looked where the rest of the group where seeing green and red Mutons entering the room. She looked through the scope of her weapon seeing through it the Chrysalid charging at some of the Mutons from behind them and sees the Mechtoid using its arms shooting towards the Mutons. Christel fires a few shots from her Plasma Sniper Rifle managing to hit some of the Mutons, mainly the red Mutons who ran towards where her and the Viper were. Most likely to try punch both of them exactly like how one punched the Viper when the Ethereal's troops invaded the Sectoid Commander's base. After some time the Mutons were all knocked out making Christel pant a little after a couple occasions the red Mutons came close to her. "Whoa that was too close here" Christel says feeling like the rest of the group should know what had happened. "Yeah your right Christel, I saw they were trying to get you there" The Sectoid Commander say looking towards Christel where the Mechtoid did the same. "I'm just glad you didn't get caught or killed" The Mechtoid says but soon hears something else approach the room.
"What is that?" Christel says soon seeing appear into the room what looks like a very tall grey robots with legs. "No. It can't be. It's a Sectopod. Human get down now!" The Mechtoid says loudly making her react quickly by getting her head down to keep herself covered seeing this Sectopod fire what looked like a giant green laser weapon making her look shocked seeing the shot being fired at the Chrysalid, Sectoid Commander and the Mechtoid. She watches on horrified hoping the three of them are OK but she quickly shakes her head then starts to fire at the Sectopod with her Plasma Sniper Rifle. She sees her shots hitting the Sectopod but it just looks like Christel is just knocking it back a little with each shot. She could see the Viper firing shots from behind her. "This thing is just being pushed back and not taking any damage" Christel says surprised to see her weapon looking like it is not making any dent to the large robot. "We got to keep shooting at it human, there is no other way" The Viper then says as the Sectopod turns towards both of them. "Human, look out!" The Viper says as Christel could see there is no way she could get herself into cover to not be hit by the robot's weapon. She kept her head down seeing the Sectopod charging up its weapon about to shoot at her and the Viper. Christel closed her eyes with her hands over her face thinking it would be the end. She could suddenly hear a big banging sound for a moment. She slowly moves her hands away and sees the Mechtoid behind the Sectopod that was stumbling a little. Christel could also see a big dent on the side of the robot showing the Mechtoid must have giving it a hard punch to do that much damage to it. Christel also sees the Chrysalid and the Sectoid Commander appear appear to thought they all died after the Sectopod fired its laser at them. She then sees the Mechtoid fired shots at the Sectopod which looked like it gotted knocked into its back giving off a sizzling electronic noise like it was now going to explode.
"Guys is it going to explode?" Christel says backing where she was at thinking the Sectopod would but the electric sounds just stopped. "I thought it killed all three of yous" She says looking at the Chrysalid, Sectoid Commander and Mechtoid. "Heh, there was no way it was going to do that. The Commander managed to divert the attack to make it look like it had" The Chrysalid says making Christel wonder how the Sectoid Commander was able to do that. "Well we better get going this way. The Ethereal is nearby" The Sectoid Commander says as it began to walk with the rest of the group soon following behind the Commander. Christel followed behind the group since it was the plan the Sectoid Commander came up with. She could feel shivers running down her spine unsure what she is going to see when they do find the Ethereal. "So Commander, what should we do if we do find the Ethereal?" She could hear the Viper ask who was in front of her in the formation they were walking in. "Well take it out cause it means with the Ethereal out the way we can end this once and for all. So that way Cydonia and the planet Earth will be saved" The Commander says making Christel think of something. "If we take it out, EXALT will be done for?" She asks wondering about if Earth will truly be saved. "Cutting off the Ethereal from EXALT will mean they will be powerless to attack Earth. XCOM will easily take down what would be left of this group" The Commander says then suddenly hears in her head the voice coming from T'Leth. "Human, EXALT forces are growing at a frightening rate. I really don't know if XCOM could really defeat them. Take down the Ethereal and the base with it. And please hurry there is not much time!" The Gillman says in her head. "Commander, the Gillman at T'Leth says we got to hurry. EXALT is growing and might XCOM instead" Christel says seeing the Viper and Chrysalid look at her in surprise. "Impossible. There is no way EXALT could've grown that quickly. We got to hurry before it is too late" The Chrysalid says sounding angry.
The group continued to make their way around the base but then Christel sees ahead what looks like the control room of the base. "I think the Control Room is there. It looks like it" Christel says looking at the room heading towards it. "Christel. Let the Mechtoid go in first, it will be better protected going in first" The Sectoid Commander says as Christel could see the Mechtoid go in front of her. "Stay behind me human, I'll take the hit here so you will be protected" The Mechtoid says as they both started to enter the Control Room.
