"Well. It would look like you managed to get past my defences to get here Christel Heinsch" She could hear a familiar sound. She knew the voice was the Ethereal's. She looked around her while staying behind the Mechtoid to stay protected and then sees the Ethereal directly behind her. "You may have had a lucky escape but this time you will not be so lucky" It says as Christel could see it stick out its four arms as something bright purple started appearing around it. "Human watch out!" She hears the Mechtoid say as she sees it scoop Christel up with it's arms and threw her away from both of them. She then feels her body hit the floor back first hard making her groan in some pain. She could see the Ethereal make the purple thing disappear and suddenly around it created what looked like a massive storm around it with the Mechtoid within this storm.
The Mechtoid screamed in pain as the Ethereal hold out a green and grey weapon that was hidden in it's hoodie and shot at the Mechtoid twice. The Mechtoid then dropped to the ground on its back as the storm disappeared. "Huh. Shame I thought it would've put up more of a fight but that's one more pest taken care of" The Ethereal says throwing the weapon towards Christel. Christel manges to get on one knees seeing the gun land beside her before standing up again. "With your remaining squad out my way. I can finally deal with you without any further interruptions" The Ethereal says turning towards her. "What are you planning? What could you possibly want with Earth? Why create EXALT?" She says hoping to get any answers out of the Ethereal while she is alive. "You haven't figure it out haven't you. Shame, thought you would know by now but allow me to just say it. Take down XCOM and finally your so called planet will become the perfect colony for the aliens" The Ethereal says making Christel react shocked what the plan is. "Colonizing Earth? EXALT exists to just destroy XCOM?" Christel then says trying to think through this plan the Ethereal is actually doing. "Heh so you can kill me now and declare victory now but you are too late. EXALT is growing too quickly for XCOM to manage. And you can do nothing about stopping it" The Ethereal says coming to the realization that she is indeed too late but wonders how killing it won't put a stop to EXALT.
"Now its time I put an end to you, so long Alien Saviour" The Ethereal says making the purple thing appear around it. Christel knew if she didn't do anything she will die exactly the way the Mechtoid had to save her. She picked up the weapon the Ethereal threw at her and threw it ahead of her missing the Ethereal. Christel soon could feel the storm starting to hit making her starting to scream in pain while watching the weapon hit the floor of the centre of the room quite hard but soon she could see the floor giving off a huge explosion. She feels herself being thrown to the wall that was behind her while also seeing the Ethereal being thrown to the alien computers. She hits the floor on her left side feeling massive pain on her legs while she could see the Ethereal looking like it was being electrocuted to death by the computers it landed on. She could then feel the floor collapse making her fall under the entire base. She landed on the ground face down feeling her left leg and right shoulder broken. She tried to scream in pain but she could only make a weird groaning noise instead.
She managed to look what was ahead of her using her left arm to push her body up a little seeing what looks like an underground tunnel. "Human, human are you OK? I just seen all the activity the Ethereal had done stop" She could hear in her head the aliens of T'Leth. She tried to communicate back to say the Ethereal was now dead but could only make painful moaning sounds. "Human. Human what's happened? Are you in severe pain? Where is the Commander?" The Gillman says sounding worried to which she tried to talk but she just couldn't do it. She held out her right arm and then grabbed on the ground starting to pull her body on the ground to move down this tunnel she was in wondering what was down there. She moved her body a little then she looked up seeing something above her that was destroyed. She remember seeing in her father Gunter's notebook that it was the power source that exploded in the room she was in with the Ethereal. She then continued to move her body until she came to a dead end quite close to where she fell into the tunnel. She found something on the ground nearby the wall. She manages to get close to it and sees it was some kind of electronic device, kind of looks like an alien USB. She looks at it thinking that it might have the plans the Ethereal hid away so her and the other aliens to never find. She pushes her arm on the ground to push her back to the other side of the tunnel, to where she fell down to wait for hopefully a rescue to arrive. She soon closes her eyes feeling herself nodding off to either sleep or unconsciousness.
She opens her eyes again after some time seeing she was still inside the tunnel but she could feel something holding her. She moved her head a little seeing the Viper was in the tunnel holding her back and her lower body was wrapped by the reptilian alien's coils. Christel could also see she still had the device in her hand. "Commander I got the human" She hears the Viper says out loud and then she sees they were lifting off the ground slowly. She then sees she was back inside the room she was in where the Sectoid Commander and the Chrysalid were in by the large hole she fell in. "Human, thank goodness your alive, I was so worried that you were dead" The Chrysalid says as she held out the device for the Sectoid Commander to take. "Where did you find that Christel? I think this will show us exactly what the Ethereal was planning. That is amazing that you got this" The Sectoid Commander says as Christel tried to give a thumbs up to it but soon nods off again back into unconsciousness. She could feel something keeping hold of her body, most likely it was the Viper still.
It felt like a very long time before she slowly opened her eyes again recognizing where she was, she was back in the Sectoid Commander's base in Cydonia. "Hey human, thank goodness your awake again" She could see the Viper say sitting next to where she was lying. "I'm glad we stopped the Ethereal" Christel says with her hand on her head feeling it pounding a little. "We? You managed to take care of it while we were trying to get in the room, cause when you went inside with the Mechtoid, that Ethereal sealed you both in" The Viper then says making her now understand why they didn't enter the room with them. "I see now. I'm just a bit disheartened that the Mechtoid died saving me from the Ethereal" Christel says remembering seeing the Ethereal shoot it dead. "I can imagine what had happened Christel. The Ethereal Rifted to kill you but the Mechtoid managed to get you out of the storm making the Mechtoid be inside it instead" The Sectoid Commander says making Christel react surprised that it was accurate to what happened. "Surprise? I have psionic abilities so I can read in your mind and saw that was what happened in that Control Room. And also see you take out the Ethereal by blowing up the Elerium" The Commander says making Christel react more surprised to know all about it without her explaining about it. "Commander, what did you managed to get from what the human had found?" The Viper then says as Christel sat up looking at both of them. "Still going through it, though I would think Christel would need to know about it more than us" The Sectoid Commander says then leaves making Christel wonder about what the Commander is talking about.
"Human, I want to say thank you for saving Cydonia. I knew you would find a way to save us all" The Viper says feeling like she really did end the war but at the same time, Christel feels like it is not over yet. "Thanks though, I think we need to give the Mechtoid a sending off since if it wasn't for the Mechtoid, I would've been killed with it" She says feeling like part of the credit should be for the Mechtoid despite losing it's life to save her from the Ethereal's Rift. "What do you mean human?" The Viper asks sounding confused what she is trying to say. "I think maybe create a funeral for the Mechtoid. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for it" Christel feeling really sad about knowing she came close to death. "Oh I think I know what you mean. You really seem demoralized about the idea" The reptilian alien says placing it's hand on her shoulder. "I am. I'm just thankful to the Mechtoid for letting me live and I kind of want to show the appreciation to it by giving the Mechtoid a sending off really" She says getting back up again looking at the Viper. "I think I know how to do it. I know how XCOM deals with their lost soldiers, I guess you want the Mechtoid to have that. I think I can get it done" The Viper says then leaves the room with Christel remaining in the room to herself to think about Earth again.
Some time later she sees the Sectoid Commander return to the room. "Christel I just looked at everything and it looks like Earth and XCOM really needs help to defeat EXALT" The Sectoid Commander says making her react surprised to hear what it is saying. "The Ethereal has really made EXALT a deadly force and XCOM just can't seem to fight back" It adds wondering if saving Earth is futile. "Look, I know your feeling down but the aliens at T'Leth will gladly keep you safe since XCOM can't look for them underwater. I don't think we will be of any assistance to you anymore" The Sectoid Commander making Christel shake her head. "No way. You guys will be very useful to help Earth now. If I can save Cydonia. You can save Earth" Christel says feeling like the aliens can provide help, even if they truly don't think they can. The Sectoid Commander looks at her surprised like what she is telling it is unexpected. "Do you truly think we can do that?" It then asks her to which she nodded in response. "Wow, I didn't think you would have faith in us to help you rescue your planet Christel" The Sectoid Commander says as it heads to the Control Room where Christel follows behind it.
The Commander goes to the computer showing the Gillman on the screen. "Commander. XCOM is being overrunned by EXALT. The saviour needs to come back to Earth so her and the aliens of T'Leth can rescue the planet" The Gillman says as Christel looks at the Sectoid Commander hooping she has convinced the Commander. "We are going to bring Christel Heinsch back to Earth. We will come along to help win this war against EXALT" The Sectoid Commander says making Christel feel glad that she has convinced it to join this fight. "Very well Commander. We will send coordinates to where a USO Sub will be to collect your crew over" The Gillman says before disappearing from the screen. "Christel. Let's get you to planet Earth now" The Commander says as she nods then leaves the room with it then back inside the Battleship UFO. She takes a deep breath getting ready to return to planet Earth and to save it from EXALT that the Ethereal created.
