A/N: Back again! I am determined to finish this story. I am excited because I have finally figured out how to end it. I can't wait to finally share the final three chapters with everyone. I am so excited! Hope you all enjoy the ending.

DIMITRI

"No, Adam, please stop!" Katya's screams echoed through the house interuptting our nearly completed planning session. "Adam, I love you. Please, don't do this."

Eddie and I didn't even hesitate. By the time her second scream had finished, we were racing through the door that had been opened by the guardians on duty outside her room. Katya lay thrashing in her bed. The blankets were a mess around her. Her face was drenched in sweat and tears.

"Please, no. Please, stop." She begged as I kneeled beside her. It was obvious she was having a nightmare, but I didn't quite know what to do. Everyone always said that you shouldn't wake someone who was having a nightmare, but it was clear I needed to do something.

"Katya." I said placing a gentle hand on her shoulder. "It's alright, sweetie. You're safe. I am here. No one is going to hurt you." I gently shook her shoulder as I continued to give her reasurrance. It took a few minutes, but eventually her thrashing calmed and her eyes fluttered opened.

The second she saw me she scrambled to the other side of the bed, shaking her head at me. Tears were still streaming down her face.

"It is okay." I told her taking a few steps back. I knew her dream had taken her back to those horrible months and it would take a minute for her to get used to her surroundings again. I needed to give her space. "It is the good Dimitri. I am not going to hurt her.

She took a few deep breaths, and blinked a few times before she visibly relaxed. She wiped furiously at her eyes. I knew she hated seeming weak in front of people, especially me. Looking weak, made you vulnerable and that was the last think she wanted to be at the moment.

"What happened?" Eddie asked moving to sit next to her on the bed. She flinched slightly, but relaxed as he put a comforting arm around her.

"I dreamed that I snuck out while you guys were talking and went to the house to save Adam." She said as more tears fell done her cheeks. "Only it was a trap, like you said. I was surrounded and Adam grabbed me and..." She put her head in her hands and started sobbing uncontrollably. Eddie pulled her close rocking her back and forth.

"It is alright." He told her. "We aren't going to let that happen. We are going to save him and you two are going to get you happy ending."

I didn't like that he was making promises that we weren't sure we could keep, but I knew that is what she needed to hear right now. Especially after what were gonna have to ask her to do to make our plan work. She needed these reassurances now. Everyone was silent as Katya continued to sob. Eventually she cried herself back to sleep, and Eddie laid her gently back in the bed pulling her covers up to her chin.

We all slipped out quietly. I knew we needed to put our plan into motion as soon as possible, but she needed her rest if she was going to be any help to us.

"Are you sure this is the best plan?" Eddie asked as we headed back into the living room. "I mean she has already been traumatized beyond repair. What if this messes her up even more?"

"There are other ways." Abe answered. "But if she is there, she will be a distraction for Adam and Marcus. Neither will want her to be killed, and that will limit what they are willing to do. It will be a great help to us."

"He's right, Eddie." I said. "It is the easiest way to tip the odds in our favor." I didn't want to do it anymore than Eddie did, but as Abe said this was the best way. We could get into the place with less resistance and be able to surprise them. Marcus and Adam would be distracted by Katya. It would be so easier to destroy Marcus and save Adam while the others are fighting any others Marcus has protecting him.

"I hope you're right." Eddie sighed.

KATYA

I awoke to sunlight streaming in my window and the smell of bacon and sausage. Thankfully, I didn't dream anymore after that terrifying nightmare. I was thankful to the friends I had made sense my rescue. Just having them with me as I cried myself back to sleep was a huge comfort.

I would be so happy when this is over. I just hoped that it would mean a happy ending for everyone involved. We all deserved it, after everything we had been through, even Dimitri. He and Rose had been through so much. I hoped that I didn't get him killed before they could have their happily ever after.

A knock on the door interupted my thoughts.

"Katya, are you awake?" Sonya's voice called through the door. "We've brought you breakfast, and we need to talk with you."

"Of course." I called back. "Come in."

The door opened and Sonya entered first with a tray full of eggs, bacon, crepes, sausage, milk, and orange juice. Eddie, Dimitri, Abe, and a few other dhampirs followed her in. She set the tray on my lap.

"You need to eat as we talk." Sonya explained. "You need your strength, and we need to put our plan in motion as quickly as possible. We have alread started prepping things."

As I put a spoonful of eggs in mouth, Eddie handed her something wrapped in a cloth. She unwrapped it and showed it to me. It was a silver stake. Rose had explained the process of charming the stake with Spirit before a spirit user stabbed the strigoi with it.

"Did you charm it, already?" I asked. Rose had showed me one before she had gone back to the Moroi court to protect the queen, but I couldn't get over the amazement that I felt every time I looked at one.

"Yes, it is already to go, but we need to go over your part of the plan." She said. "Dimitri?"

Dimitri nodded and sat on the bed next to me while I continued to eat.

"You are coming with us." He stated. My eyes widen as shock hit me. I knew the plan had always been for me to help them do this, but I didn't think they'd let me walk into this with them knowing it could be a trap. "You will be with Eddie, Sonya, and I the whole time, except at the beginning."

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"We need a major distraction in order for our plan to work." Eddie explained. "We won't have the element of surprise, so we need something to make our entrance a little less noticeable."

"Okay." I said. I didn't even need to think about it. If being bait was the only way to save my Adam, I would do it. No matter the consequences.

"You have to understand, though, that you could be hurt." Dimitri explained. "You could even be killed. We are going to do everything in our power to insure that doesn't happen, but if something goes wrong. It is possible. If you don't want to do it, we will come up with a different way."

"No, I want to do this. He was forced to become this monster because he was trying to save me. I am not going to stop until I save him, even if it means giving up my own life."

"Alright." Dimitri sighed. "Then we will finish preparing things. We will attack as soon as everything is prepped. We want to do this in the daylight, so we have a little bit of an advantage with the sun. We can keep the fight contained in the house."

"Finish your breakfast then get dressed." Sonya said. "We should be ready when you come downstairs."

With that, I was left alone to finish eating and try not to think about what was going to happen.

DIMITRI

"Hey, Comrade." Rose answered after only two rings. I knew I should've been helping the others prepare, but I needed to hear my Roza's voice before we did this. The chances of me dying today where slim, but I wanted to talk to her one last time, just in case.

"Roza." I sighed into the phone. "We are getting ready to go get Adam. It is probably going to be a messy fight, but we have a good plan."

"I know you do." I told her. "I know you won't let anything happen to Katya or Adam."

"Or myself." I told her. "I promised you I would come back to you, and I will, Roza. I will always come back to you."

"I know you will, Comrade."

"I want you to know how sorry I am for all of this, though. I know how much this has hurt you. And how much guilt you feel. I know I don't deserve someone like you, but I will forever be grateful for the day I was charged with bringing you and Lissa home. You are the greatest thing in my life, Roza. I want you to know that."

"I have always felt the same about you Comrade." I could hear her attempts to clear the knot of emotion from her throat. "I love you, and once you come home we will get through this, like we have gotten through everything. I promise."

"Good." Katya appeared at the bottom of the stairs wearing all black. The tank top and tight jeans left little to the imagination and her hair was pulled back into a braid. "Katya is ready. I have to go, Roza. I will call you when it is over. I love you."

"I love you too, Comrade. Good luck." Again, I could hear the barely concealed emotions in her voice and I wished that she could be here with me. We made the best team for these kinds of things, but I knew Lissa needed her at home.

I flipped the phone shut and blew out a deep breath.

"What are you wearing?" I asked Katya.

She shrugged. "I figured if I was bait, I might as well make it good. Neither Marcus or Adam will be able to stop themselves when I look like this."

I had to admit with some training she could be really good at this sort of thing. If she wasn't human, she and I would be having some serious discussions about her training to be a guardian.

"So, what do I need to do when I get there?" Katya asked.

"You just going to walk in, and tell them you surrender." I explained. "Tell them that you were abandoned after we saved you, and you didn't have anywhere else to go. Once the guards take you to Marcus, we will begin our assault."

"Got it. What if it doesn't work?"

"Then we go to plan B."

KATYA

We drove the SUVs to the forest surrounding the old mansion. I followed the rescue party through the woods. As we walked, I wasn't careful to avoid tree branches or dirt. I even purposely tripped a few times. The goal was to make myself look like I had been wondering around the forest for days trying to find my way to the house. I would claim I went back to the remains of the club and found Adam's note. That I struggled to find my way here.

Once we got close enough that the whole party couldn't go any further. Eddie, Sonya, Abe, and Dimitri offered words of encouragement and hugs before I was sent to finish the trek to the mansion alone.

My heart pounded in my chest as I continued to walk toward the house. I could do this for Adam. I had to do this for Adam. He had given up everything for me. It was time for me to return the favor.

"Just breathe." I whispered to myself. "The others we save you. You can do this. You have survived so much at Marcus's hands. You can survive a little more."

My heart took off again as I made it to the front door. I hadn't expect to meet resistance considering that it was daylight. I raised A shaky hand and knocked on the door.

A young human female opened the door. It looked as though Marcus had decided to open a new club right here, and she was his first "employee."

"Can I help you?" She asked in a quiet voice.

"Yes." I said managing to keep the shake out of my voice. "My name is Katya, and I am here to beg Marcus's forgiveness and ask him to take me back."
