Godly

Draconic King, I've already done something similar in one of my chapters, almost exactly like you described, so I'm going to shed the school dance part and do something similar. Hope you don't mind.

Percy was ecstatic for school to be over.

Not that it was anything new for him. He hated school. Not only because it was the most boring thing in the history of the world, but because he wasn't very liked. He was seen as weak, and as it is in high school hierarchy, he was picked on.

He could easily stop the bullying. I mean, come on, he's half god, not only does he have some pretty sick powers, he's got the strength. He could easily break one of their arms and would probably get suspended, maybe even expelled, but he wouldn't do that. For one, he wasn't a mean guy. Second, he wouldn't be able to handle the sad look his mom would give him after being kicked out for the umpteenth time.

Other than that, school was fine.

As for why he was so excited, well, his girlfriend was picking him up.

Sort of.

There are multiple things wrong with that statement. Firstly, Artemis didn't like being referred to as his 'girlfriend' even though they were definitely in a relationship. It was whatever. He didn't really care.

Second of all, picking him up wasn't the right term either. Artemis was a goddess, and not a very modern one. She didn't own a car or anything of the sort. She had a chariot, sure, but she rarely ever used it other than as it was meant to be used: as a moon. Most of the time picking up meant popping in, grabbing him and leaving. He liked to joke that she kidnapped him. She didn't deny it.

Percy guessed that she wasn't going to do that today. He'd told her about his situation at school, and her being the overprotective person that she was, had threatened to kill them. There was a large chance she wasn't kidding.

Either way, he was excited.

When the final bell finally rang, he was out of there.

Percy leaned against the trunk of one of the trees that sat to the side of the school. Despite it being Manhattan, the school had managed to keep a cluster of trees to its side. They called it the 'wildlife center.' The only wildlife it had was pigeons.

"Hey, Jackson, what're you smiling about?" Percy's smile only grew bigger. He could practically feel their irritation.

"Oh, nothing. Just waiting for my date."

They burst out laughing, and Percy could only smirk. He could feel that Artemis had come in already, but she made no move against the boys. She was waiting. His unrelenting smile seemed to unnerve them, but it didn't stop them.

"Yeah, sure, like anyone would be willing to go on a date with you."

Percy chuckled. "Probably more than would want to date you, but at least I stick to one girl instead of all of them."

"That girl's probably no better than you are," they taunted. "I bet she's got no sense to her."

Percy winced as Artemis landed silently on the ground behind them. "No sense?" She hissed garnering the attention of the boys.

One of them wolf-whistled. "Damn, ain't she a beauty?"

He was on the ground clutching his broken, bloody nose before he could even blink.

The other boys stepped away from her as she turned to them. "You should watch who you trash-talk. They may not like to hurt you, but they have others who will hurt you for them."

Percy snorted at their astonished expressions. "I think you scared them."

Artemis bared her teeth. "I'd like to do more than just scare them!"

"Alright, time to go." Percy reached out for her hand, prepared to lead her away from the scene.

She was about to take it before she paused and turned to the boys. She kneed the main antagonizer right between his legs before taking his hand. "We can go now."

Percy grinned as they walked hand in hand away from the scene. "Have I ever told you I love you?"

"Yes, though it doesn't hurt to hear it again."

Percy grinned and shared a kiss with her before she flashed them away.
