Next Mission
Qrow gets up in the inn. He realizes Onyx's scroll is gone.
"Guess you made it out alive." Qrow thinks to himself.
Qrow checks his scroll, on it their is an unopened message. It is from Onyx.
"Nightfall."
Onyx walks alone in a forest. His hood down, allowing his hair to flow in the wind. Onyx walks with his scroll in his left hand. Onyx thinks hard about all that had happened.
Night gets my attention to lure him out.
An informant knew where to find the key to finding Night.
Night fights Team RWBY and I, then allows us to live despite having the power to easily kill us all.
Night kills Rubine.
Night fights and easily defeats me.
I find the power to defeat Night.
Night learns to use that power and defeats me again.
Windsor appears in a vision and gives me a way to win.
I kills Night.
Night wanted to die.
Onyx then thinks about Aero and Windsor.
They looked nothing alike.
Aerokinesis is the ability to control air.
Wind is the movement of air.
Both Aero and Windsor were wise and constantly giving me advice.
Windsor knew the name of Rider.
Windsor must have some connection to Umbra.
But what is it?
Onyx then realizes he hadn't heard anything about Rubine in the past fifteen years.
Rubine dropped of the grid.
How does that happen?
By choice.
Night and I had equal skill when it comes to finding people.
I had no leads.
Night had found her with ease.
Onyx then thinks about his informant.
It was Rubine.
Rubine was male.
I also never learned Rubine's semblance, yet he was always a good actor.
Shape shifting.
Rubine had orchestrated all of this.
He worked with Night to lure me out.
His semblance allowed him to play all major roles.
Onyx then realizes he had no way of knowing this with certainty.
Night, however, being his partner in both team NWOR and during Night's...

...During Rubine's plan, would.
When Onyx killed Night, he absorbed the fragment of Shadow's soul that Night had absorbed. That fragment came with a piece of Night's Soul. Onyx didn't realize it, but some of Night's knowledge was added to his own.
Rubine made it seem like Night had killed him.
Why?
To give himself room to operate and execute a larger plan.
A plan that required Night or my death.
But what?
The Umbra Agency,
Rubine is with Umbra and so is Windsor.
That's why Windsor had to die.
He needs the ten test subjects dead.
Unless he's a test subject himself.
Onyx knows what he has to do.
Find Rubine and get the answers I seek.
Onyx puts on his hood and begins his new mission.
