Chapter 1: Awakening

The sun shined across the horizon, clouds moving at a slow, yet steady pace across the sky. The gentle wind blew with a soft chime through the sea of green upon a hill.

This light...it's so warm…

He peered at the sky as he laid across the grassy field, taking in the view for the first time. Yes, for the first time since his birth. He focused on the soft grass under his body; the wind that caressed his form ever so gently. Perhaps he would have stayed still much longer-

"Fou, fou!"

-if it wasn't for the presence right next to him.

He turned his head towards the voice that called out to him. It was a small furry lifeform, covered in silvery, white fur with royal blue tipped ears. It wore a blue, white cape around its neck that was held together by a red ribbon. Its amethyst eyes looked expectantly at him as it sat across from him.

"Ah…" He whispers. He reached out towards the 'animal' before it turned around and took off. It stops a few steps away before looking back as if waiting for him to follow.

Though unsteady, he gets up from the ground. It was the first time that he ever stood up on his own two legs. Stabilizing himself, he takes a moment to look at his surroundings. It was an opening meadow with a few trees peppering the area. At a distance were several windmills that steadily turned with the wind.

"Fou, fou!"

Turning his attention back to the 'animal', who then took off again before stopping. He took a few unsteady steps before following the 'animal.'

After a few minutes, he finds himself in front of a crystal clear pond. He sees the 'animal' taking a drink from the pond before approaching the body of water. He looked towards the reflective surface and saw his form for the first time.

This is me…?

Before him was an 18-year-old teen with long silverish white hair sprinkled with flecks of purple. He had heterochromatic eyes; his right eye is a metallic silver color while his left is a tanzanite blue. His face was slightly androgynous, yet could not deny the feeling of masculinity. His body was a healthy toned and well-muscled. His skin tone had a slight paleness. His outfit was a black, form-fitting outfit (doesn't have a description yet. Going for an assassin-like outfit built for speed and style. Will take suggestions for the outfit.) His arms were fitted with light, black arm guards and his legs with similar black shin guards. Around his neck was a piece of black cloth used as a face mask. Finally, there is a white skull mask attached to a belt around his waist.

What is this?

He takes the mask from the belt and studies it in his hand. The mask was shaped in the frontal form of a human skull excluding the mandible. It was light in his hand and the color was a stark white. He turned it over to the inside and felt the need to put it on as if something was telling him to do it. He placed it over his face and felt nothing. After a moment, he felt a new type of weight on his body. Surprised by this new feeling, he caught a glimpse of his reflection. What was once silvery-white hair was now a violet color and his pale skin had turned a chocolate brown tone. His eyes through the skull mask had both turned tanzanite blue with a slightly eerie glow.

Along with the change of appearance, so did the addition of several objects on his body. Around his body were several bands holding a set of daggers in place. The daggers are obsidian black with a curved notch along the blade. On his back was a sword with a black-cloth covered hilt set in an equally black scabbard. Taking out this sword, he noticed that it was an obsidian black longsword with a bladed crossguard. After getting a feel of the weight, he places the sword back in the sheath and takes off the mask, returning his hair and skin to their original tones. The daggers disappeared, but the sword stayed.

Gazing at his own reflected appearance, he had forgotten about the white-furred lifeform that was trying to get his attention. Tearing his eyes off the reflection, he looked at the creature who had a small book next to it.

"This is…"

Picking up the book, he studied the cover. It was a simple brown leather covered book with a familiar insignia on it. It was the Chaldea symbol that was etched in gold. Opening the book, he saw a portrait of himself with and without the skull mask. On the next page was a status sheet listing information about himself.

"Snow...Argent," he whispered. He let the name linger on his tongue as if savoring the taste. Satisfied with the name, he continued to study its contents.

The more he read, the more he seemed to remember. He was a regular human that had died in an accident. Most of those memories of that life had disappeared upon his death, but some memories remained. At the same time, he was a designer child created alongside his sister, Mashu Kyrielight, to take in the saint graph of heroic spirits into their body and become a demi-servant. The project failed, despite being able to transfer the saint graphs into their bodies, the housed spirits refused to manifest. And unlike his sister, who was capable of moving outside of her container, he was kept inside the capsule to keep his body for deteriorating due to the massive output of the transplanted saint graph.

The fact that he was now outside without feeling the constant deterioration meant that whatever Romani Archiman did, he is now capable of living independently from the containment.

Then, he felt something flowing into his head, a rush of information filling his mind.

Reaching the end of the status, he found that the majority of the book was blank. Unable to find more information, he closed the book and placed it back into his pocket.

I don't know why I am here, but for now, let's see if I can find my way to the nearest civilization.

Getting up, he turns to the white 'animal' and reaches out his hand towards it.

"Do you want to come with me?" Snow asks.

"Fou!" it replies as it jumps onto his hand and runs up before settling down his shoulder.

I am going to need a name to call it by. I think that it's a male. Snow ponders with a thoughtful expression. Turning his head towards the white 'animal', he asks, "Can I call you Fou?"

"Fou!"

Happy that the name was well-received, he starts to walk towards a random direction in search of civilization.

Hello everyone! I am alive and well! I am sorry for the extremely delayed update. I have been very busy with college, going through major changes and trying to keep up with college courses. I just couldn't find the time consistently write.

However, I am grateful for your support and likes for my stories. I will try to see if I can update much more sooner, but no promises.

Also, shipping! I am actually curious about what kind of ships you guys prefer and want to see. So please comment on your preferred ships!
