The Outsider's View of Palex: REVAMP!

Revamp of my original fic! Jordan Johnson is a new student to Degrassi Community School, moving from Florida to Canada and she's about to be inserted into a world she's never know. Jordan befriends and helps change and shape the lives of her classmates and even helps two unlikely people form a relationship no one saw coming, except her.

3. Author's Note Circa 2020

So... HI!

I know I know, it's been awhile. You're probably wondering where I've been and what the hell happened to the original chapter three. Well, let me give you a SUPER quick recap and update.

Back in 2008, while I was a baby in high school, I started writing a fic called The Outsider's View of Palex. It was a simple concept. I just inserted a new character into an already established world and just expanded upon episodes or gave a "behind the scenes" look for her eyes. I started writing it because I loved Palex (Paige & Alex) and hated that they didn't really ever get any screen time on the show.

Once I finished with OVP I started working on the sequel, Palex and Beyond. That fic took place during season 6, season 7, and... well beyond. I wrote it while in college and writing that story actually really helped me. I was going through a very interesting and life changing point in my life. I really got to expand upon a universe that usually stayed within the confines of the school halls.

Once I completed Palex and Beyond it was time for Marriage, Kids, and Palex. The fic was different from the rest. There were no episodes to fall back on, everything would be completely original. But at some point I lost steam, I just couldn't find the motivation or inspiration to continue writing that fic. So I decided to go back to where it all started. I decided to go back to OVP.

I started rewriting OVP because when rereading it I just couldn't help but cringe. I felt like my writing had grown so much and the story could definitely be improved, plus I had new ideas. So I started rewriting and then... well. I met my future wife. I'm not saying my wife made me stop writing, because she didn't, but I just didn't feel like I needed an escape anymore. Because honestly writing these stories was a way for me to escape, a way for me to create a world that I liked a lot better than my actual reality.

The thing is though, I never forgot about this fic. In fact throughout the past 8 years I've thought about it A LOT. I'd write random chapters in my notebook, type of new ideas. I even spent a whole overnight radio shift doing research on the Ontario school system. I NEVER forgot. And when it was time to write my goals for 2020, this was one of them. To start this bad boy back up. So here I am.

For those of you that have been with me this whole entire time, WOW. Thank you thank you thank you. For those of you that are new, DON'T read the original OVP. You'll trust me later. The plan is to try to update this at least once a week. But I need you to be patient with me. I'm working three jobs and also trying to work out, which really is a job in itself. But I promise that I won't abandon you or this fic again.
