A/N: Yikes, this has been a while. Life got in the way. If by some miracle my old readers are still with me, hello! This basically picks up where the last chapter left off. I've been on a fanfic binge lately so keeping it up while the creativity is there. For new readers, I hope you enjoy it!
Chapter Twelve: At first sight….
Age: Fourteen
"Estel," Even though Estel heard Glorfindel, he could not find it in himself to speak. His mind was occupied elsewhere, much to Glorfindel's annoyance. Schooling Estel was his duty and recently, it had become a difficult task.
"Who is that elf talking to, adar?" Estel was mesmerized. Of course she wasn't the first female elf that Estel had seen, but she was different from the others. Estel had not known real beauty until he laid eyes on her. She had long dark hair that cascaded down her shoulders and reached almost to her waist. She wore a long, blue dress that seem to glisten in the sunlight, making her all the more radiant. She was talking to Elrond but Estel couldn't hear what they were saying. They seemed to know each other though. His father looked at her with love in his eyes and they hugged.
"That is Lady Arwen," Glorfindel explained "Lord Elrond's firstborn daughter."
"That's Arwen!?" Estel had heard so much about Arwen over the past few years. Elladan and Elrohir spoke often of their sister. As far as Estel was aware, Arwen had gone to live with in Lothlorien with the Lady Galadriel and Lord Celeborn. She seldom visited Rivendell and Estel wondered why she had chosen to not live here with the rest of her family.
Suddenly, Estel heard a voice in his head. The voice was female and he knew at once that it was Arwen. Estel had always known that his father possessed the ability to speak telepathically and it seemed like his daughter did too. "Welcome young Estel." her voice was warm and a friendly, like a gentle breeze on a summer's day. "You've captured the heart of my father and brothers. I am looking forward to getting to know you."
Estel felt a flutter in him that was unfamiliar to him. It made him nauseated, excited and frightened all at the same time. It made focusing on Glorfindel's lesson all the more difficult to focus on.
To be continued…..
Surprise! I'm back! This was a very short one but I really just wanted to introduce Arwen finally. If you're still with me, leave a review and let me know what you think!
