(BELLA'S P.O.V)
Charlie isn't home when I enter our house. He still probably at work so I decided to just go to my room. I ate at the Cullens so I'm still not hungry and I'm sure dad's already eaten dinner at his work. The house is too quiet for my liking but I'm used to it. Charlie must be lonely to live here alone after Renee and I left years ago. Even back then our house is a bit too big for the three of us and I can only imagine what dad must have felt alone in this big of a house. Guilt pierced direct to my heart realizing how badly we hurt Charlie by leaving him. And in few months I'll do it again. I'll leave him again. This time, for good. It's going to be hard but it is necessary. I have to leave.
"Is something wrong?" Jane's voice pulled me out of my thoughts. Realizing I already reach my room and now standing at the open doorway. Jane is just sitting there at my computer table, a concern look adorned her teenage looking face. I manage to force a small smile but Jane cannot be fool. "C'mon, Princess I know something bothering you. Talk to me."
"I'll miss Charlie when I become vampire." I said sadly to her. A lone tear escaped my eyes. Jane, seeing this hurried to me and gently wiped the tears with her thumb while leading me to my bed and sat there.
"He will miss you too, Princess. But you know what? This time your dad won't be left alone. He have Sue, Leah and Seth now. They'll take care of him for you." Jane's words comforted me a bit knowing it's the truth. Leah may decide to leave too and be change once she found out her deep connection with Alice, but at least Charlie will still have Seth and Sue. Seth had informed me before that he don't plan to leave Forks. It was his home and it'll always be. Sue's not a fan of big city, he's like Charlie in regards to that so I don't see her leaving Forks like Renee did.
Charlie's gonna be okay.
"Dad will be just fine, I hope." I said frowning as I recalled the things happened today. "Riley and Bree are in town, Jane. I'm worried and scared, not for me but for everyone and Charlie."
"Yes I'm aware, Princess. I was there in the Cullens when you guys had a meeting. I chose to stayed outside listening while scanning the area for any unwanted guests. Stop wor-" a loud ringing of my mobile phone interrupted whatever Jane's going to say making her curse instead. I sent her an apologetic look before answering the phone without looking at the caller id.
"Hello"
"Bella my child, how are you? I heard from Jane about Bree and Riley's showing up in your school. Are you alright? Did they hurt you? What did they want? Dydame, Athenodora and I decided to visit there as soon as possible and see how you are really doing and also to meet your precious mate and her family-" Sulpicia went on and on while I listen patiently looking at Jane with a raise brow. Jane only smirk at me finding it funny how the Queen is so out of character rambling in phone. Honestly, even I found it funny but knowing that the Queens only acted like this when utterly worried stopped me completely from bursting in laughter.
"Cia, calm down. I wasn't hurt. Riley and Bree didn't even approach me or talk to me. I have no idea what they want but if they mean harm, I have the Cullens and Jane protecting me. You don't need to come here all the way to make sure I'm okay because I'm telling you now, I am perfectly fine." a rustling sound can be heard on the other line, I'm guessing the other two queens are there also listening to my voice. Before any of them can interrupt me, I hurriedly continue knowing very well that the three of them wanted to protest in what I am saying "Listen guys, I don't want you guys drop everything you're doing that I'm sure very important just so you can come over here and check me. I promise I'll be extra careful."
I was met with silence after that. I can imagine the three of them discussing quietly what I just said to them. I know they want to meet Rosalie but I do also know that it's not the only reason they decided to come here all of the sudden. I'm sure hearing from Jane that Riley was Victoria's accomplice sealed their decision to give me a visit.
They're going to take care of the danger by themselves.
"A week, Bella. Give us a week to finish everything we need to get done here and after that we will be there. I trust Jane to protect you and your father till then. Is that acceptable?"
"Yes. Thank you for everything, Cia. Tell the Kings I miss them and don't worry too much. I have one of the elite, strongest most reliable guard of Volturi here." I wink at Jane who's smirking smugly at my description of her.
"Okay, Isabella. We'll talk to you again soon. Take care and we love you."
"I will and love you guys too. I'll see you all next week." I heard the two other Queens said their goodbyes at the background before Sulpicia finally hung up the phone.
(ROSALIE'S P.O.V)
I went straight to my room after I drove Bella to her house. I didn't know a vampire can be emotionally tired until now. Today was a very long day and I can't even imagine how my human mate dealing with all the stress. I am now regretting my decision of leaving her. All I want is to hold her and kiss her worry away but she's right. I really need to hunt tonight. Although I am confident about my control and know that there's no way I'm going to hurt Bella, I still don't want to risk it. She's too important to me.
"Rose" Alice bell-like voice broke the silence of my room. "Can I come in?"
"Yes, Alice." I answered though she already glided to my room before I even said Yes. "What is it that you want?"
"Jeez you do need to hunt, your bitchiness is showing" she smirk playfully letting me know that she's only teasing. I'm not in such mood though.
"Thirsty or not I am a bitch, Alice."
"You are not when you're with Bella."
"Well she's not here."
"And that's why you're bitchy and snappy. Yeah I get it, you're just whipped!"
Is it bad that I want to punch that smug smirk on my sister's tiny face? I'm extremely worried for my mate, angry with Riley and Bree showing up, pissed off that I can't be with my mate tonight and to top it all I am bloody thirsty! I am not in the mood with all the teasing. Why can't Alice see that? She's a fucking seer for goodness sakes!
"Alice, stop teasing your sister! Don't be smug young lady or did you just forgot that you'll soon to be whipped too?" Esme's chastising voice resonated to the whole house drawing a good laugh from the boys and a groan from Alice, even I can't help the smirk that made it's way to my face despite my bad mood.
"So what brings you here, Tiny?" I asked my sister after the laughing had calm down. The glare she sent to me can rival mine. I know she hates it when I call her Tiny and I'm sure she hated it more now seeing her mate is one giant woman.
"Why do you keep calling me that? You know I dislike that name!"
"That, my dear Tiny, is the exact reason I'm calling you that. Because You. Hated. It." I heard Alice groaned in displeasure not liking my answer which earned another chuckle from everyone.
"You're evil" she muttered as she walk to the door and closed it. When she turned to face me, I noticed almost immediately the change in her mood. Any hint of playfulness that she was sporting just a second ago was gone replaced by seriousness and concern.
"Is something wrong?" I asked frowning having no idea what is this all about. It was strange to see Alice's serious face instead of her usual bubbly self. And the fact that she had closed the door of my room which is soundproof, meant she needs to talk to me privately, without any of my family hearing.
"Riley's gonna approach you tonight when you hunt" Alice sent me a pleading look before finishing with "Please be careful, Sis."
"A vision?" I asked though I already knew the answer even before she nodded her confirmation. "Alright, I'll bring Emmet with me then."
"No don't. You can't bring anyone. He want you alone he won't show himself if you're with any of us. He only wants to talk though I don't have a single clue about what. I think he means no harm but better be careful, okay?" Alice sent me that pleading look again as if begging me to be careful, she really is worried. I'm sure she wanted to accompany me herself but if what she said is true then there's no way she can come with me. Not if we wanted to know Riley's intention.
"I will, Alice but may I know why you didn't want to our family to hear this conversation?" I asked wondering, well aware that our family will be enrage if they found out Alice and I hid this to them.
"They'll see no reason. You know them, Rose especially Eddie and Emmet, once they hear Riley planned to approach you, they both will want to accompany you. It doesn't matter that Riley only wanted to talk alone. All they think is that Riley is an enemy, a danger to you so even we stopped them and tell them to just stay here and wait, we both know it won't happen. The two of them are very stubborn, they will come with you or follow you no matter what we said." Alice rolled her eyes thinking of those two idiots. They love them both to pieces, they are their two over protective brother after all. But sometimes or maybe most times the two can be annoying idiots who act before thinking. It's a good thing Jasper turned out normal, well, normal as an emphatic vampire brother can ever be.
"Right. I better go. I'll see you later."
"Jane will watch you two away from Riley's hearing range. I called her before I talked to you. Don't give me that look, Rosalie, Bella is safe Emmet's with her."
"You planned it thoroughly, didn't you?" I stated relieve that my mate is protected. I was scared for a second when Alice mentioned that Jane's going with me, it means my precious human mate will be left defenseless and alone and I can't have that. Knowing Emmet was already there at Bella's house, brought sudden relief with my entire being. Alice decision of having Jane observe us from afar is wise. Jane's senses is more advance than mine or Riley's due to her old age. She can watch us and hear us without us noticing her. It's good to know I have a back up if things don't go well.
"I tried my very best in such short notice. I can't have you get hurt, can I? Bella's going to kill me if I let you get hurt." Alice said in playful tone though I can still see the seriousness in her eyes.
"Silly, Bella can't hurt you, let alone kill you. She's human!" I smiled and bumped my shoulder onto her. Her eyes go round and sent me a disbelieving look.
"She can't but the Volturi can! Oh my god Rosalie you better not get hurt or I'm going to kill you myself before Bella and the whole Volturi kill me!"
Silence.
The two of us gaping and staring at each other with wide eyes. It didn't took long before the two of us burst in fit of laughter. I felt good, the worry, irritation and nervousness was washed away by our laughter. If any of our family sees us, they will surely think we're loosing our mind.
"I'll try, Alice and thank you. I better go now though." I gave her a grateful smile which she returned with a hug and a much wider smile of her own. After telling me to be careful for the umpteenth times, she let go and shooed me away.
A/N: to all who left reviews thank you for taking time posting what you think of the story. sorry that i can't update sooner as you know that my laptop was broken and all the stories i wrote including this were gone. my laptop is still not working so i'm using my phone and i'm having a hard time using it. btw, someone asked (sorry i can't remember your name) if it's possible that i match Alice to Jane instead of Leah? hmm i'll say tempting but i can't. i'm thinking of jane/kate pairing? Kate as a childish, playful and happy go lucky. Likes to prank and make fun of others using her power. She's a child trapped inside a mature beautiful body whereas Jane, a responsible, serious and caring woman. she hates using her gift unless necessary. She's a mature woman trapped in a child's body.
