Wedding

Thank you to peacerockgirl123 for the prompt!

"PANIC!"

Hawk's frantic voice broke through the quiet. Outside the doors of the Boar Hat, Spring had sprung. The sky was a rich blue, fluffy clouds floated by peacefully, a spectrum of crocuses and tulips scattered across the countryside. Baby rabbits hopped along the rolling hills, and children could be found dragging their parents to see the wild newborn lambs. In the location Hawk Mama had decided to stop, the Boar Hat sat on top of a large hill, on the border of a beautiful cherry blossom forest.

Pink petals fell like snow, silent and beautiful. It was the perfect day, particularly for a wedding. To be more exact: the wedding of Princess Elizabeth and Holy Knight turned Captain of the Seven Deadly Sins, Meliodas.

However, Hawk's shriek broke the perfect silence.

"PANIC!" He screamed, running down the stairs then around the kitchen of the Boar Hat like a madman (or a mad-pig?) Ban stood behind the counter, making a hearty breakfast for the sins. As Hawk ran around, he nearly knocked the food right out of Ban's hand. Luckily, he caught it just in time. Diane, Merlin, Gowther, and King sat around one of the tables. Escanor leaned against the wall next to Merlin, of course. The girls, plus Gowther, were in dressing gowns with their hair freshly washed. Diane was normal sized, as she plus the other two, and Elizabeth's sisters, were bridesmaids, with Diane as the Maid of Honour.

"PANIC PANIC PANIC PANIC!" Hawk shouted, tears streaming down his face, "IT'S RUINED! I CAN'T BELIEVE THE BASTARD! I'm going to kill him!"

Diane's eyes widened, she shot up off her seat, "Hawk! What's going on?"

King was the next to object. "Yeah, what's gotten into you?"

"Oi pig! You almost made me drop my best work yet!" Ban interjected, furious. "I swear to god if you ruin any of the things I'm planning to cook for today, I'll make sure it's you put on that spit." Hawk shrieked louder. Ban's breakfast plated, he walked over and joined the rest of the sins. Merlin sighed in annoyance, watching at Hawk circled the tables again and again. With a flick of her hand Hawk was suspended in air with his mouth shut. No matter how much he tried, Hawk couldn't speak.

Merlin smirked, dread filled the hearts of all who sat in the room. "Now, now, what's with all the fuss? If you're any louder you'll end up waking Elizabeth, and we can't have that happen. Can we?" Hawk frantically shook his head. "Good. Now, I'll release the spell if you promise to shut up and tell us what's wrong." This time Hawk nodded, and Merlin did as she promised.

She dropped her hand, and Hawk fell to the floor and bounced, landing on his butt. Merlin took her seat, crossed a graceful leg, and sipped on a cup of black coffee. "Now, explain."

"It's Meliodas, he's missing!"

"WHAT?!" Diane's fist slammed on the table which cracked slightly under the pressure. The sins gasped, Escanor raised his eyebrows, even Gowther looked vaguely surprised. Merlin glared at Diane who grinned sheepishly and held her hands up in defence. "Sorry..." She muttered.

"Whatd'ya mean the captain's gone? It's his wedding day." Ban asked.

"I know! But I went to go make sure he hadn't snuck into Elizabeth's bed during the night, he hadn't, but then I couldn't find him anywhere!"

King rolled his eyes, "Are you sure he's not just gone out for a walk?"

"The captain of scraps disposal is right," Gowther interuppted, pushing up their glasses, "I cannot sense the captains presence or energy in the immediate vicinity." They closed their eyes. "Or in a two mile radius."

Ban sighed, rubbing a hand over his face. "Shit..."

"Elizabeth's going to be crushed!" Diane wailed, eyes wide with realisation. "We're to get her up in half an hour, then she'll get ready, and go to the church, and she won't let us stop her, and she'll be waiting and waiting and waiting but- but he won't show!"

She began to cry louder, and grabbed King pulling him into her chest. After a few minutes of intense blushing, he hugged Diane back trying to comfort her. Merlin stood up once again, adjusting the gown she wore.

"We're not going to get anywhere by crying." She snapped, and Diane sat up straight, wiping her puffy face. "We need to find the captain as soon as possible. Boys, you go find him, you know him best, and you're the fastest. Gowther, you stay, Elizabeth will suspect something is wrong if you're missing too, and we can't have that either."

Escanor, King, and Ban nodded.

"Sure thing, how much time d'we have?"

"About an hour, an hour and a half at the very most. Elizabeth's a sweet girl, and she deserves the best. I don't want her to be late for her wedding." Merlin glared at the three once again. "You will find the captain and bring him back."

King shook, beads of sweat rolling down his pale face, "Aye aye," He saluted. Ban rolled his eyes, Escanor, as usual, didn't say much. Gentle footsteps sounded, coming down the stairs. Everyone froze. Elizabeth peeked around the doorframe, her hair tousled and rubbing her eyes gently.

"Is everything alright?" She asked, coming further downstairs and fully into the kitchen, her usual nightgown swaying around her ankles. "I thought I heard shouting."

Merlin stood, gently taking her by the arms. "Hawk is just excited, today is your big day, after all." Elizabeth smiled sleepily. "Now, how about Diane and I fix you up some breakfast?"

Elizabeth nodded. Her attention was suddenly turned to the three men, who were halfway sneaking out the door. She called out to them, and Ban froze. Ban and King quickly swivelled round blanching at the glares they recieved from both Merlin and Diane.

Elizabeth cocked her head. "Is Sir Ban going out somewhere?"

"For some secret ingredients. He's requested the boys go with him."

Elizabeth seemed unsure, but nodded anyway. "Alright, just don't be late!"

Everyone shifted uncomfortably. Ban offered a half hearted salute before pushing the two other men out the door. Elizabeth wondered if everything was alright, but was being forced to eat by Diane before she could put any more thought into it.

When Ban found the Captain, he decided, he was going to punch some sense into the man. Already he, King, and Escanor had wasted half an hour searching the nearest taverns. One patron had even asked: "Isn't he marrying Princess Elizabeth today?" Ban had laughed nervously, told him it was a game, and quickly excused himself. Last thing they needed was rumours flying around.

Finally the three decided to split up hoping to cover more ground that way, and agreeing to meet back up at the Boar Hat in an hours time, pushing Merlin's limit. If they found Meliodas they were to create a loud explosion to alert the others to return. With the rules set in place, they set off.

Ban headed east, standing on the border of a thick forest. He had a hunch the captain would be in here.

He prayed it was right, for Elizabeth's sake.

Meliodas pondered upon the specifics of skimming stones. They had to be big, but not too big. Flat, but not too flat that they bounced too hard and flipped. And finally they had to have a decent girth, but too much girth would make them too heavy. Skimming stones was a fine art. He threw another one. It zoomed across the lake, a loud slapping noise resonating throughout the clearing. It bounced and bounced and bounced off the lake, skipping across land until it crashed into the rock face with a final BOOM. Several other stones lay by the crevice Meliodas had made.

He sighed, picking up another stone and examening it. The sun warmed the stone nicely, raising his head Meliodas let the warmth prickle his eyelids and cheeks. It was a serene moment, one that hadn't blessed him in a while.

Gripping the stone harder, he spun, and flung it with all the force he could muster. The intruder behind him caught the stone with ease but was thrown backwards, creating a lovely shaped hole through the forest. A second later the intruder re-appeared, and Meliodas visibly relaxed.

"Oh. It's just you."

Ban's arm, bent currently at an odd angle, snapped back into shape and he tossed the stone back to Meliodas. "Who else would it be?"

Meliodas shrugged, skimming the stone, which met the same fate as the others. "Who knows? I am a wanted man." He grinned.

"Were," Ban emphasised, standing next to the captain, looking at the state of the rock face Meliodas had been abusing. "But I suppose yer a wanted man in a different sense now. Your wife-to-be is getting worried."

Another stone skipped across the lake and the rock face got more and more battered. "You can't just leave her." Ban said. "That's shitty, even for you."

Meliodas scoffed. "I know. She deserves better anyway, not some-" He grunted, hurling a stone at the battered rock face, opening the crevace fully. "Fucking ex-criminal."

"Well. That's funny. I seem to remember she chose you when you were an actual criminal." Meliodas shot him a deathly look, Ban only shrugged. "Just sayin'"

"Yeah, well, she can still do better. She'll get over me eventually, marry some rich prince, have perfect kids, live the perfect life. One without all the danger and death and misery. Don't I owe that to her?"

"No." Ban stressed. "What are you, stupid? You think she wants all that? You think that if she was able to choose between a safe life and you, she'd choose the former?" Meliodas refused to meet Ban's eyes. "She's already made her choice, over and over and over again. How many times will Elizabeth have to prove herself to you?"

The silence confirms that Ban has struck a chord in the captain's heart. For a few more moments nothing is said, and Meliodas stands stock-still. Finally, he sighs, and hangs his head. Ban decides not to punch him, the captain is human deep down. Insecure, afraid, just needing some words to help him.

"I'm an idiot."

"I know."

"Elizabeth is...the strongest of all of us."

"You're right there."

"Thank you, for talking some sense into me."

"Any time, Captain."

The taller man slings an arm around Meliodas' shoulders. "She really loves you, you know. And it's obvious that you love her too."

The smaller man nods, nothing else needs to be said. The lake shimmers, the rock face opposite them is battered and bruised, much like the sins. But time heals everything, and in years to come perhaps it'll be something of a marvel. For now, a young princess is getting ready, two men laugh their way back to a tavern, the tavern where they live, and soon a wedding is about to happen.

*~*~ W is for... ~*~*

Luckily, because its Elizabeth's special day, Merlin and Diane are feeling merciful. They let Meliodas off with a glare and a half-meant threat, and he's thrust upon the altar that's set for the wedding today. The ceremony is going to be held at the castle, where the kingdom will be able to see the youngest princess married, those who can't make it will be able to view it via Merlin's projection orbs, and will be able to celebrate after. Meliodas wonders how long they'll celebrate for. The record is two weeks, but Edinburg likes to go all out.

Giving those their dues: the bridesmaids look beautiful. King has not stopped blushing since he walked Diane down the aisle, and Gilthunder and Houser are no different. Ban and Elaine walked down, the best man pressing a sweet kiss to the fairies hand. Then, finally, with Hawk next to him with the rings, and Gowther escorted down the aisle by Escanor, it's time to see Elizabeth.

She's beautiful. There's no other phrase for it. The air is sucked out of Meliodas' lungs, Diane starts crying as soon as the bride-to-be is revealed, and Meliodas can only stare.

Her dress is sleeveless, held up by lace that covers the space between the top of her chest where her dress begins and her neck. The dress itself is pure white, and splays out from her waist, she looks like the princess she is. Gloves cover her hands, she carries a bouquet of red and pink roses- a welcome splash of colour.

Her hair is done up in a bun with her fringe covering her goddess eye. The entire look is so Elizabeth, and Meliodas has never seen anything more beautiful. When she reaches him, she bends down to let him flip her veil, and her father smiles proudly. Meliodas has always liked him. Elizabeth is even more beautiful under the veil.

The smile she gives Meliodas is brighter than the stars, and he finds himself lost for words once again. He tries to return the smile to the intensity that he recieved it, but he knows he falls short. Nothing will ever compare to her.

Fortunately the ceremony continues without a hitch, and with a final kiss, the first of many as a married couple, the princess Elizabeth is married to the Holy knight Meliodas.

As they run down the aisle together towards the beginning of the festivities, and the beginning of the rest of their lives, Meliodas has never been more sure of anything.

The End.

A.N. Heya friends! it's been a hot minute, and we're one prompt closer to the end, are you excited? Thank you to everyone who's supported me so far, I seriously could never have gotten this far without you all. You're all the best!

So send me some prompts for Y, I'll need all the help I can get!

It's summer now, but I have a job and also I'm preparing to start college in August (WOW) so writing and chapters may be slow. Not to mention that, aside from everything else, I'm doing a lot more on my AO3 account (Infinitely_Odd) for different fandoms, and yeah, so, you know. But I'm going to finish this story or die trying!

As for Blow a Kiss, Fire a Gun, the story is there...I just need to write it. And unlike Stand By Me I want to write the whole thing first, or at least, write a good bulk and then publish it so I don't have a situation like this one where it's like WOW TEN CHAPTERS AT ONCE, then, A WHOLE ASS YEAR OF NOTHING. That's not fair to you guys.

Leave me a review 3 I read every single one, and I appreciate all the ones I get, even if it's just a few words! (also yes last chapter was based around Miraculous Ladybug lol)

So yeah, follow me on tumblr oddpyromaniac and AO3 Infinitely_Odd and I'll see you all soon!

Love youuuuuuuu
