Thank you to whoever provided this prompt ;3; I cant fnd your review but I love you!
Meliodas was not in a good mood. In fact, if looks could kill, Ban would be dead ten times over. Unfortunately, the bastard was too busy doubled over in the crappy hospital chairs almost sick with laughter to notice the acid glare he was currently being sent. Diane and King were no help either, pointedly ignoring the both of them.
It was an accident, really. A stupid one at that. He was trying to prove that he could, in fact, complete the monkey bars and go across them without falling off. At 20 he was very small for his age, though he insisted the others were just giants, the monkey bars seemed so far out of reach. A challenge he hadn't completed. So, while his friends watched, he attempted the incredible feat. Spoiler alert: he couldn't do it. His grip had lessened suddenly, and Meliodas found himself with a broken arm, and a mutilated ego.
To say he was in a bad mood was an understatement. As he sat, the waiting room growing louder and louder, Ban's laughter becoming more obnoxious, Meliodas allowed himself to stew. The receptionist across the room at the desk caught his eye and quickly looked away. He was tiny, sure, but he could be intimidating when he wanted to be.
"Meliodas?" One of the doctors in the doors to the left called him, and Ban stopped laughing. He and his friends all traipsed their way into the doctors office.
It was a standard office, white, with a bed and some machines he hoped he wasn't needing. The bed was situated at the back of the room next to a locked cabinet with some suspicious looking bins that had "HAZARDOUS" written in bold red lettering underneath a sink that was attached to the cabinet itself. That certainly didn't make him feel any better. But another door on the right side of the room was covered in pictures from children, all showed a female doctor with long hair. Something about the pictures made him slightly more at ease. Perhaps this doctor would be nice? He took a seat in the chairs in front of the desk, Ban took the one to his left, and Diane and King stood behind him. The doctor who had called them in left once they were seated, and the door on the right opened and a woman walked in.
"Hi there," She greeted with a bright smile, walking over to the cabinet and washing her hands. "I'm Doctor Liones, you must be Meliodas, correct?"
It took Meliodas a couple of seconds to reply. Her silver hair was tied up in a bun at the back of her head, she'd pinned her fringe back with a blue kirbygrip, but he knew when it was down her right eye would be obscured completely and her hair would reach her lower back, at least. When she turned around he noticed she had two different coloured eyes, one bright blue, the other brown like the dense forests. If her fringe was down, the brown eye would be hidden from view. A travesty, Meliodas thought, she was beautiful.
A nudge from Ban made him hiss in pain and reply, "Yup, that's me." with gritted teeth. Her eyebrows furrowed.
"Your arm, is it? Mind if I have a look?"
"I think that's your job," Meliodas joked, earning a stern but almost fond look from Elizabeth. He shuffled forward in his seat and she came round to see him. There was bruising around where he'd fallen, he tried not to whimper when her fingers began to prod gently around the area.
"Mmm," She hummed, "Looks like it's broken. How did you manage this?"
"I got into a fight," Meliodas said at the same time Ban blurted out: "Bastard fell off some monkey bars."
Meliodas felt his cheeks heat up, but Elizabeth didn't seem to be bothered by this. It probably happened all the time. Behind him, Diane covered a laugh by turning it into a cough.
"Well, that's a common thing around here," She smiled gently. "I'm afraid we're going to need to send you for an x-ray to really understand the extent of your injury." Elizabeth returned to her desk, pulling out a form and filling it in. "Head along to the x-ray department and hand this to them. Afterwards head back to the waiting room and I'll call you when I have your results."
Meliodas took the sheet of paper and offered her a smile, pleased to see she returned it along with a faint blush to her pale cheeks. "I'll see you soon then, doc,"
She waved goodbye as they left the office, heading to the x-ray department. Diane leant down and giggled. "She was cute! Wasn't she?"
"Shut up!" Meliodas snapped, his cheeks heating up once more. But soon all thoughts of the cute doctor were gone as he approached the dreaded x-ray department. He took a deep breath and walked inside.

The walls hadn't stopped spinning, and Meliodas didn't want them to. Meliodas felt like he was on a carousel that never stopped. His stomach twirled and he imagined himself riding on the horses. There had been a carousel near his house when he was a child, his favourite horse was bubblegum pink with black hooves called Liz.
A giggle slipped from his lips as the walls turned round faster and faster. Ban, Diane, and King had gone somewhere, he wasn't sure where yet, but it didn't matter. They were the ones missing out on this insane spinning room. The laughter stopped, as did the room, when his doctor came into view leaning over him. She was the pretty girl from earlier with silver hair and a kind smile.
What was her name again? Meliodas squinted trying to remember what she'd been called.
Nelly? Eliot? Irene?
"Hello, Meliodas? I'm Elizabeth, here for your final check up." She stood over him, her fringe falling down from where it was tucked behind her ear. "How are you doing?"
"Good," He slurred, feeling his heartrate accelerating every second her pretty eyes were on him. Like the endless forest, and the bottomless ocean, he grinned dopily at her. Elizabeth's mouth was moving, but her words weren't registering with him, his senses were overwhelmed with Elizabeth.
"Are you feeling alright?" She asked when he didn't reply to any of her questions. "Maybe you reacted badly to the anesthesia..." Elizabeth pressed a hand to his forehead, then to both of his cheeks, and Meliodas felt the blush rise into them. "You're a little warm." She concluded.
"That's jus' you, doc," Meliodas grinned, winking. Or at least attempting to. A nice blush covered Elizabeth's cheeks as she turned away to check her clipboard. She wasn't paying anymore attention to him. Meliodas pouted. "Lizbeeth, you're the prettiest girl in the entire world. How hasn't anyone realised that yet? A c-cute doctor...man, you're incredible."
"You think so?" Elizabeth replied with a small smile. Meliodas nodded so hard he felt as if his head might fall off his body.
"Yup! Being a doctor is difficult, so you're hard working, and you're superdupersuper beautiful too. No, not beautiful, beautiful doesn't cut it. You're...stunning? Nope. Not good enough. Gorgeous? Nah. Supermegafoxyawesomehot? I mean, an improvement but no...you-you're..."
"Ineffable?"
Meliodas blinked. "I don't even know what that means."
Elizabeth laughed quietly, smiling at him once more. "It means something so great that it can't be described."
"That's it!" Meliodas exclaimed, sitting up in bed suddenly. "YOU'RE INEFFABLE!"
Laughter filled the room from both of them. Elizabeth, once over her laughing fit, pushed Meliodas back down gently into his bed. "Shhhh," She told him between huffs of laughter, "You'll wake everyone up,"
"Everyone should know that you're ineffable."
"I'm not sure they'll appreciate being woken up at god-knows-what-hour."
"Well," Meliodas huffed, raising his nose and pouting again. "That's their problem, not mine."
"Still, they need rest, and so do you." Elizabeth murmured softly, sitting on the side of the bed next to him. Meliodas' breath hitched, his drug-hazy mind going haywire. Would she kiss him? His logical brain said no, she was still on shift, and it would be awfully unprofessional of her to do so. But his feeling brain desperately wanted to know what kissing her felt like. Would her pink lips be as soft as they looked? What would her hands feel like tangled in his hair?
The tension was broken by Elizabeth's pager going off, she checked it and sighed, Meliodas didn't know if it was a happy sigh or a sad sigh. Maybe it was both. She turned to him, the offending pager in her hand. "Sorry, but my shift just ended, I need to go do the turnover."
Meliodas tried to hide the hurt, but clearly it was visible all over his face. Damn his drugged up brain. Elizabeth pressed her hand to his head again, this time not to check his temperature, but as a reassurance. He lunged forward again, his mind working a million miles per hour.
"Wait- a pen, let me- write my number. Why isn't there a pen in this room?" He scrabbled around, hoping maybe would pop up out of nowhere. As he grew more frantic, Elizabeth hushed him gently and once again pushed him back, smoothing back the hair on his forehead.
"Hey," She hushed, and he stopped. "I really have to go," Meliodas' face fell. He'd only just gotten to actually talk to her, and suddenly his dreams were being dashed. "But...if you nap and wake up feeling completely fine, and still want to give me your number, then ask your friends to write it down. I'll get it when I begin my shift tomorrow. Is that okay?"
Slowly, Meliodas nodded, her gentle voice soothing his racing mind and sending him off to sleep. "Mmkay...but...don't forget t' get it. 'kay?"
"I promise, I won't." She patted his head gently once more and stood, going to leave the room. "Goodnight Meliodas."
He was asleep before she could shut the door.

Elizabeth returned to work the next day, anxiety swirling in her belly. She couldn't get the blonde haired stranger out of her mind. Being in her twenties, and a woman, she was used to creeps drugged up on anesthetic hitting on her. But this time it was different. The man, Meliodas, had been so sincere it made her heart hurt. The way he had told her how wonderful she was echoed in her mind and wormed its way into her dreams.
First she stopped by reception, asking if anything had been left for her. There hadn't. Meliodas had been discharged early that morning. She sighed upon entering the changing room, getting out of her clothes and changing into scrubs. She was glad he was alright- the break had been pretty severe, and anasthesia was needed to try and reset the break. But still, she hoped he might have been different.
Elizabeth switched off her phone and opened her locker. A letter fell from inside and fluttered down to the ground.
With hesitant fingers, she picked it up. It read:
...
Dear Elizabeth,
I don't remember much of earlier- perhaps that's for the better- but I do remember desperately wanting to leave my number. Now I'm more concious, I'm going to do so. I admit this might come off as a little creepy and you in no way are obligated to add my number but you seemed to want it at the time, and I said I would give you it.
xxxxx xxx xxx
Hope this gets to you okay!
Meliodas
P.S. Thx for looking after that asshole while he was out of it - Ban
...
Elizabeth grinned, folding the note neatly and placing it in the case of her phone for later, leaving the changing room with a skip in her step. Maybe today wouldn't be so bad after all.
The End.
A.N. Hello! It's me again! How is everyone doing? Me? Well I've been okay! I started college- this is actually my second week there and it's really different. A lot of my friends have moved, and I'm in a class on my own, so I'm still adjusting to the changes. And hoo boy it's not been easy. But I'm getting there.
Once again huge thank you to everyone who has supported me thus far, I wouldn't be here without you! me and the gf are still going strong, yay! and BIG NEWS: i have the entire plot line for Blow a Kiss, Fire a Gun written out! How exciting! Next is just doing chapter summaries and writing it, but I think one of the hardest parts is over. I've also written the last chapter of an AU I'm thinking of posting...but I'm not sure if I'll actually write it yet. Let me know if you'd be interested in another AU on here! One based on another anime...actually that's a lie I have two ideas, one's a crossover and the other is an AU. Would you be interested in a Kakegurui crossover? If so let me know that too!
Okay, I'm signing off for now! Find me on tumblr: Oddpyromaniac, and AO3: Infinitely_Odd. Please leave reviews and follow and favourite if you haven't already!
See you next time, my loves
