Valentines day! It was the only thought running through the twenty-seven year old teacher's mind. It had to be one of her favorite days of the year, since she was a child she'd spent the day baking treats of all of her more animistic, and quite frankly more preferred, companions. She'd canceled all of her classes for the day and started towards the kitchen where a station was opened for her like it always was this time of the year, the kitchen staffed had grown accustomed to the brunette invading there work space during the holidays.
Taking a small breath Kylie tied her hair up in a bun, out of the way, and got to work. She spent hours rushing in and out of the room with arm loads of ingredients and cookware in between baking what looked to be ordinary confections. She didn't talk to anyone, completely focused on her task save to tell the others not to touch her food as it wasn't for them.
Many many hours later the Care of Magical Creatures professor was done. She was visibly tired white powder covering her arms and clothes with a swipe or two of melted chocolate on her face. She looked at the four puff pastries that she'd just pulled from the oven, A small smile growing on her face as she put them in the basket with the rest of the goods.
Heading back to the cute little thatch cottage she called her home as well as her class she started divvying out all of her hard baked goods. She'd made everything animal safe, adding their favorites to the batches of heart shaped treats until the only things left were the last four puff pastries.
Staring at them she realized that while she might have made them for Damon and his daughters she hadn't talked to any of them all day... That's when the panic set in. Hopping up from her seat she moved towards the door only to stop "Wait... He didn't come say anything to me either..." A small frown appearing on her face.
Taking a moment to calm down she rationalized that if he hadn't come to see her then she must be over reacting and decided to leave it at that. Prepping the last of her stuff she headed back into the school, basket of pastries in tow.
Upon reaching Damon's classroom she knocked twice and getting no response opened the door to the deserted class. Giving herself a small relieved sigh she suddenly realized how nervous she'd been about actually giving him her package and decided to simply leave it on his desk.
It was a a small, but cute basket with a royal blue ribbon tied around it and inside were the pastries she'd made for them along with a note for Damon that read;
Dear Damon;
The past year has been wonderfully fantastic thanks to you, Sasha, and Katrina. I'm grateful to know you three and even more so to actually be apart of your lives. Because of you three this has been the best year of my life and I wouldn't trade it for the world.
Yours Truly;
Kylie Middlton
