In a place far out in the open ocean stand kingdoms of land and the deep sea, which have lived in peace with each other and co-existed side by side for several decades. During a summer ceremony, two human boys from the land and two mermaids from the sea are chosen to be together. [Sorato and Michi AU]

Greetings to my fellow readers! In honor of the brand new Digimon series, Digimon Adventure (2020), a modern retelling/reboot of the original first series which is set in the year 2020 (this year), which is premiering in April (Two months from now). I am going to be writing a story that is based on the original Digimon Adventure, but set an alternate universe.

This fanfiction is based on Of Land and Waves, a Sailor Moon fanfiction with a similar concept as this story made by fellow user YamiKayakaMotou.

I only own the story of this fanfiction. I don't own the Digimon franchise, It currently belongs to Toei Animation, Co. Ltd and Bandai Namco Entertainment.

On a large island in the far reaches of the endless ocean lies the two kingdoms of Harmony Lagoon, a place where both humans and merpeople live together and co-exist side by side. Ever since the cove was founded by both the former king of the land and the current king of the sea (at that time) many years ago, they both signed a treaty that will allow both humans and merpeople live peacefully in both of the kingdoms.

Every year during the summer, a ceremony called The Pairing is held in which humans and merpeople would give each other special gifts that would help the current ruler of the sea determine their chosen betrothed and afterwards, would be determined if he or she would become either a human (for merpeople if their betrothed is a human) or one of the merpeople (for humans if their betrothed is a mermaid or merman) then they would be married in the summer and change into the exact same form of their beloved in the next year right after the wedding.
