Guest - Thanks! I want to finish off my other unfinished story before starting anything new. But when things calm down who knows.
"Well, you arm looks fine. So do the other scans. So as soon as Winn has shut off the lock down, which he said he'll do in the next few minutes, we can go." Alex said as she looked at the scan results.
"Are you sure you arm is okay?" Kara asked Elle.
"It's fine."
"And there's no other effects from her being without powers?" Kara asked Alex.
"She's fine. Having her under the sun lamps is a complete overkill." Alex assured her. Knowing Kara would want time alone with Elle she added. "I'm going to chase Winn. I'll be back when we can go."
"You okay?" Kara asked as she sat on the bed next to Elle and hugged her. When Elle silently nodded Kara went on. "We'll be home in no time." Getting less of a reaction than she was expecting she asked.
"What's wrong? Don't you want to go home?"
"I do." Elle said.
"But?"
"What if dad doesn't want to see me?"
"Why wouldn't he want to see you?" Kara asked confused.
"He was really mad at me. He wanted me to be locked up." Elle pointed out. "He left me here."
"I know, Alex told me. But she also told me that when he found you lying on the ground he got really scared. And when people get scared they get angry and lash out. He only got so mad because he loves you so much. And I'm sure he wants nothing more than to see you." Kara said.
"But he'll still be mad with me?" Elle guessed.
"Right now I think he'll be relieved." Kara said. "But we are going to have to talk about your powers."
"I wasn't playing with them. I just wanted to stop them." Elle argued.
"I know, but you tried to do in a way that got you hurt." Kara reminded her.
"What was I meant to do?"
"Talk to dad or Alex or your grand mothers or Kal." Kara listed. "I know I can't always be there, but that doesn't mean you are alone. You will never be alone."

"We're free." Alex said entering the infirmary before quickly lowering her voice when she saw Elle was asleep. "She okay?"
"Exhausted." Kara explained.
"When the barrier came down my phone started working and I've had over a hundred messages from Adam come through. I sent him a message saying it is all okay and we'll be there soon. But do you want to call him?"
"Yes, but I want to get home more."
"You can call from the car then. It is waiting outside." Alex said picking up Elle's bag as Kara scooped up Elle, who remained asleep.
"Thank you for everything." Kara said as they walked down the corridor. "I know I've not been easy to be around since the lockdown."
"Which is completely understandable." Alex said. "Everyone here knows how important Elle is. Although if in future you could just not bring a killer alien from another Earth to our Earth that would be good."
"I'll bear that in mind." Kara said as they approached a car.
"This is you. Baxter will make sure you get home okay." Alex said nodding to the Agent who opened the car door.
"You're coming with us." Kara said.
"You need time with Adam and Wil." Alex pointed out. "I'll be fine."
"No, you are staying with us tonight. You are hurt and you need rest." Kara insisted.

As Kara walked through the front door with the sleeping Elle in her arms she immediately found herself engulfed by Adam.
"Kara. Is Elle okay?" Adam asked clinging to them, while trying not to wake Elle.
"She's fine, just a little tired. I'm going to put her to bed then I'll explain." Kara whispered as Adam reluctantly released them and watched as Kara carry Elle upstairs. When he couldn't see them anymore he turned to Alex.
"There was a full lock down, we couldn't get anything in or out. But she is okay, so is Kara." Alex summarised.
"And you?" Adam asked noticing the bruising.
"I'm fine. Kara thought I should stay here, but if you want space I can go."
"Of course not." Adam said.
"I'm going to go crash then. I'll see you later." Alex said limping upstairs, stopping outside Wil's room where Kara was nursing her sleeping son.
Hearing her sister Kara turned to the door and asked.
"You okay?"
"Yeah. Go talk to Adam." Alex said before disappearing to her room. Reluctantly Kara kissed Wil's head and placed him back in the cot before leaving the room, glancing back at Wil as she reached the door. She then moved to Elle's room to check on her once more and smiled when she saw Krypto lying on her bed. Convinced both children were okay she went downstairs.
As she entered the lounge she saw Adam paced and immediately said.
"I've missed you."
"Missed you too. We all have." Adam said holding her tightly. "We were so worried about Elle and you."
"We are both fine. But why does Wil have Elle's alien?" Kara asked returning the hug.
"It was the only way to get him to settle." Adam said.
"I'm sorry I was gone so long."
"You're back now and you brought Elle back." Adam said still clinging to her. When he finally loosened his hold Kara pulled away and said.
"About Elle and her heat vision. We need to talk." But before she could continue something caught her eye. "What's that?" Kara asked pointing to the corner.
"Right that." Adam said. "That is part of Elle's birthday present."

"Hey." Adam said after he heard movement from Elle's room the next morning.
"Hey." Elle said.
"Can I come in?"
"Sure." Elle said as Adam came and sat on the bed.
"I've missed you." Adam said.
"I missed you too." Elle replied looking like she was expecting to be told off.
"Mom told me what really happened with your heat vision and I'm sorry I jumped to conclusions."
"It's okay. Mom said you were scared."
"I was." Adam said. "But I should have asked you what happened, I'm sorry. But you should have talked to me."
"You were stressed and busy."
"I'm never too busy for you." Adam said. "I know it may not seem that way, but if you ever want to talk, ask." Adam said as the door opened further and Kara walked in carrying Wil, who was holding Elle's alien.
"Why does he have my alien?" Elle asked.
"Because he missed you and it reminded him of you." Adam said as Wil started to struggle in Kara's arms. As she put him down he immediately started crawling to Elle, the alien all but forgotten.
As Adam waited for the impending meltdown by his eldest he was surprised when Elle picked Wil up who immediately started to gently tug her hair.
After sharing a surprised look with Kara, Adam asked.
"So do you want you presents?"
"Presents?" Elle asked.
"Well it was your birthday." Adam reminded her.
"I thought you had a rule about eating fruit before presents." Elle pointed out.
"Today's different. You can have one present before breakfast." Adam said. "I'll go it."
"Here, I'll take Wil." Kara said placing Elle's alien toy on the bed before taking the baby from Elle as Adam returned holding a large brown box, Krypto by his heels.
"So two days ago, Krypto, Wil and I were out shopping when we stumbled across this and we all thought you'd love it." Adam said passing the box to Elle before warning. "Careful, it's fragile."
As she carefully lifted the flap a small nose poked out before a couple of paws scrambled to get out.
"It's a dog." Elle said smiling as she carefully lifted the puppy out of the box.
"Your dog." Adam said.
"Thanks!" Elle said as she hugged the dog.
"What's he called?" Elle asked as the puppy started licking her face.
"Anything you want." Kara said as Krypto went and sat on Kara's lap.
After a minute of looking at the puppy Elle said. "Argo."
"Well Argo will want a walk soon." Adam said.
"Why don't you go walk him and Krypto with dad?" Kara suggested.
"No. I don't want to leave you." Elle said sounding panicky. "Neither does Argo or Krypto."
"It's a walk to the park." Kara pointed out.
"We're not going without you."
"Okay. Get dressed then we'll have breakfast and we'll all go together." Kara said as Elle nodded.
"I'll go make a breakfast." Adam said looking hurt.
"What was that about?" Kara asked when Adam was gone.
"I don't want to leave you. What if you go again?"
"I'm not going anywhere." Kara said hugging her. "Is that the only thing?"
"You sent me away." Elle pointed out as she stroked Argo.
"To protect you." Kara said. "But you're right, I know better than anyone how that feels. I'm sorry." She said hugging Elle tighter. "But I did it because I love you and I wanted you to be safe."
"It still hurt." Elle confessed.
"I know. I'm sorry." Kara said. "I can't promise I won't do it again. But if I do it will only be because I want you to be safe."
"Okay." Elle said.
"Good. Now get dressed." Kara said before noticing an unwrapped present in the bag Elle brought back from Earth-1.
"Hey, you didn't open this one from Earth-1." Kara said finding a wrapped box in the bag. "It's from Luke."
"Really?" Elle asked surprised taking the box from her mother. "Should I wait for dad?" She asked as Kara used her x-ray vision on it.
"Um, no. You can open that now." Kara said.
"He says I should use it as a reminder on why I should listen to adults." Elle said reading the label. Ripping the wrapping off she found a framed Batarang.
"Let's not tell dad the story behind that." Kara said as Wil started crying. "I'll see you downstairs." She added kissing Elle's head before leaving with Krypto and Wil.

"That wasn't about you." Kara said seeing how upset Adam was looking as she entered the kitchen.
"It felt like it was."
"It really wasn't." Kara said before guiltily adding. "I didn't fill you in in everything that happened last night."
"Did something happen to Elle?" Adam asked.
"Not exactly, but I arrived just before the lockdown and when I was there she saw me get hurt. And then I sent her to Earth-1 with Kate, but she didn't know if I was okay."
"How hurt were you?" Adam asked frowning.
"Pretty bad." Kara confessed. "But I'm fine now." She assured him. "But Elle is still a little freaked out."
"Why didn't you tell me last night, well this morning?" Adam asked.
"Because you looked like you had gone through hell and I didn't want to stress you out any more." Kara said. "The important thing was we were back."
"Anything else I should know?" Adam asked.
"Probably, but it can wait. Let's focus on Elle today." She added as Elle came into the kitchen followed by Argo. She immediately went to Adam and hugged him.
"See." Kara mouthed to Adam as he hugged Elle back.

As Elle finished her pancakes she saw the door open and Alex limped in.
"Alex!" Elle said going and hugging her aunt.
"Hey." Alex said returning the hug as Adam poured her a coffee. As she hugged Elle she saw Argo in the corner and asked.
"Where'd the dog come from?"
"It's Argo, my dog." Elle said.
"Argo?" Alex asked confused. "Your dog?"
"Her birthday present." Adam explained.

As Kara sat in the park with Wil and watched as Elle and Argo chased after the balls that Adam was throwing Krypto came to Kara and jumped on her lap.
"Did you want to get Argo so you got some rest?" Kara asked.
In response Krypto yawned and shut his eyes.
"I'm tired too." Kara said as she stroked Krypto's head. "And it is going to be a busy day." She added as the ball rolled towards her, followed by Elle and Argo, and more slowly by Adam.
"I think Argo is tired." Elle said.
"He is only small." Kara reminded her. "So what do you want to do now?"
"Umm, ice cream?"
"It is nine thirty in the morning." Adam pointed out.
"So?" Elle asked.
"You have just had breakfast." He reminded her.
"So?" She pressed with pleading eyes.
"Fine." Adam agreed, still riding the guilt wave.
"Thank you." Elle said tugging him towards the ice cream shop, Argo following behind.

As they entered the house Elle immediately saw Cat and run to her.
"Grandma Cat!" Elle greeted before hugging her grandmother.
"Hello my angel." Cat said kissing her head. "I hear you have had an adventure."
"And I got to help Kate using what you and Lena taught me."
"What exactly did they teach you?" Adam asked suspiciously. Even if Elle had intended to answer her attention was diverted by seeing Carter. Hurrying over to him she hugged before asking.
"Where's Sarah?"
"Um, back at college." Carter replied looking awkward.
"Is she still your girlfriend?" Elle pressed
"Um yes." Carter said looking more uncomfortable.
"You should have brought her. Do you want to see my treehouse?" Not giving him a chance to answer she tugged him to the back yard.
"How does Elle know more about Carter's love life than I do?" Cat asked.
"You were the one who taught her interrogation skills." Adam pointed out. As he walked off towards Kara he added quietly. "Just wait until she uses them on you."
