Alphabet (Agent A and B)

The rational part of Bruce (which, for good or bad, was most of him) knew the concrete reasons behind "Agent A." But sometimes the emotional part of him couldn't help attaching significance to the fact that 'a' was higher in any hierarchy than his "B," because every member of the family knew that was true of Alfred, especially Bruce. Alfred was higher in authority—which only bothered Bruce a little, because he trusted Alfred more than himself—and higher on the list of people his kids would go to with things—which bothered him a lot, because he was jealous.

Alfred is awesome, in so many ways. These idiots all think they're big tough heroes but they would not survive without him, honestly. Emotionally or physically.

Also, I like to think that Bruce is aware that he has failings as a dad (he's not actually an idiot; he's the world's greatest detective), he just can't quite figure out what they are or how to fix them.

Have a terrific day!
