Chapter 8: Crash!
Leo and Rua stuck close to Yusei, glancing around at the various men glaring at them while they traveled down the Downtown District. "Is this how it always is when you are in New Domino?" Rua asked as their feet splashed on various puddles. The trio were silent for a while after, their thoughts on Goodwin and what to do now that they were free.
Walking a bit further. Yusei paused in front of their destination, holding a card up as the twins caught up with him. Leo glanced back out of the corner of his eyes, "Yusei... Two questions: One, is this the place? And two... Ever have the feeling you're being... watched?" Rua had the same feeling, their older brother glancing back with them to see a pair of men in suit attempting to hide a reasonable distance around a corner. "Gotta commend them... Bet it's because of Goodwin wanting this mark..." He looked back to the bar and slowly stepped inside.
The twins glanced around the desolate establishment, spotting a spiked haired man cleaning a glass, familiar yellow markings under each eye before he noticed the trio. "This ain't a place for children, beat it... Paying customers only..." Yusei stepped up to the counter, "They are with me. We just want some milk..." He slid the Giant Ushi Oni towards the man, whispering in a low tone, "And we were told by Bolt Tanner we could find a man named Blister if we came here..." The man remained silent for a moment before glancing at the door while preparing three glasses of milk.
"Not to concern ya, but I think you got unwanted company..." He said, gesturing the trio toward the two suits sitting behind them, Leo and Rua giving a couple of bored looks as they were served their milk. As they drank, the man soon spoke to them, "Now get out of here." As they got up he added, "You don't find Blister, he finds you..." This perplexed the twins as they exited the bar, the two men in suits following behind them.
"And what's that supposed to mean?" Leo asked, stretching his hands behind his head, getting rather annoyed at the men following them. Rua sighed, "Who knows, Leo..." He said, the trio soon hearing the rev of a bike. "Anyone else hear that?" Rua asked before a motor bike sped straight for them.
Before any of them could move out of the way, the the rider expertly scooped all three into the side car, The men in suits chasing after them and holding a device, "They are on the move! Track-" His partner soon shouted, "I can't pick up on their tags!" The duo soon called back, "Get a sweep of the District! We lost them sir!"
On the motorcycle, the man held and swept a device over the trio's markings, "This will keep them from tracking your marks. Less hassle. So... I heard you three were looking for me?" Yusei was the first to speak up, "Blister?'

Leo was fast asleep while Rua wasn't far off, listening to Blister type away at a computer with Yusei over his shoulder. "You know you three are crazy, right. Why would I help you bust into Security's impound?" Yusei sighed, "We need our duel runners. And those are very special to my little brothers." He said, his eyes determined as Blister looked into them. After a brief silence, his hands resumed typing, 'Still think you guys are crazy, but I'll lend hand. Though from what you told me, their runners were trashed."
Yusei nods as Rua got up and walked over rather groggily towards a photo, "What's this...?" Blister snapped to look at him with a glare as he picked up a torn card, "Don't touch things that don't belong to you!" Rua recoiled while Leo jumped a bit, nodding off to sleep while Yusei took the card and guided Rua to rest with his brother. "He didn't mean it." Yusei commented as he returned to Blister.
The man huffed and returned to his task, "Kid should mind his manners. Anyway, this is where your runners are... And it seems Security somewhat repaired the twins' runner. They planned to use them." Yusei clenched his fist, "Not on our watch." As Blister worked on a means for them to enter the warehouse, Yusei asked, "That someone dear to you?"
Blister paused, "None of your business." He said flatly, Yusei looking closer before he said, "I'm willing to listen." The man paused once more, sighing as he started explaining the story...
Leo opened his eyes to find himself alone in a void, a dark cloaked figure standing across from him with a sinister smile. The boy tried to step back as the man drew closer, a pair of eyes behind him before a glow separated them, three to be exact. The man seemed terrified of them, Leo feeling a power well up inside of him as a shadow loomed behind him, roaring loudly as the eyes behind the man hissed back...
Yusei shook the twin up, "Come on you two. Time to get our runners back." He said to the groggy brothers, the two of them slowly rising to his voice. "Huh? OK..." Rua yawned as they got ready, Yusei nodding to Blister, "Thanks."

Yusei walked in a uniform to the gate, the twins right on his tail before they were halted by the guard, "Hold it. Identification." He said plainly, to which Yusei pulled out the fake ID fabricated by Blister. The guard checks the badge and hands it back, looking at the boys, "And what's with the kids?" Yusei readily replied, "Bring your kid to work day. My sons here wanna work for Security someday." Leo nods with a smile with Rua, the guard chuckling in response.
"OK, just make sure they don't go anywhere they aren't supposed to. And no breaking anything." He added as the older brother lead the trio inside, making a beeline for the restrooms. Inside Leo mad gagging sounds, "Really, Yusei?" He said, earning a chuckle from all three of them. "Hey, it worked. And you never know..." He joked as they waited in the stalls.

After the building was closed down for the night, the three slowly made their way out of their hiding spots, Yusei in his usual attire as they stepped out of the bathroom. "Now, where are our runners?" Rua asked as Yusei checked a device he had on his person. "This way." A bit of walking past a few storage areas and they were soon inside the runner impound lot, standing by a large crate near the top floor. "Bingo..." He said.
At this precise moment, the group was flashed and blinded by spotlights all around them, "I had a feeling you would sneak in here. Just couldn't resist being Satellite scum, huh?" A familiar voice called behind them. "If it isn't our favorite mall cop..." Leo chuckled as their eyes adjusted to the sight of Officer Trudge. Said officer had a confident grin on his face. "I do hope you were trying to run off with our runners. They are Sector Security property now."
Yusei looked to the twin, nodding before they all scrambled into the crate, making trudge laugh, "Nice try, but those runners aren't..." He stopped once the sound of revving engines filled the room, "Really?" Leo taunted back. "Sounds like they are running smoothly. And you even fixed ours!" With that, the trio burst from the crate and sped past the confused officer. "Thanks, Officer!" Rua called back as they made their way towards the exit, only for Trudge to ram into Yusei and knock him away.
The twins sped out, but the impound soon went into lock down. The twins skidded to a halt, "Yusei!" Their brother called back, "Go! I'll catch up to you guys once I deal with Trudge!" Before they could argue, alarms started going off, making the two forcibly retreat out of the compound and into New Domino.
"You think Yusei will be fine?"Rua asked, Leo sighing, "This is Yusei we are talking about. I'm sure he'll be fi-" He barely dodged as a runner almost rammed him, the twins gasping as they saw the rider, "Hilda!"
"Remember me, brats? No one escapes my Retention Center!" The two quickly try to outrun her, with her hot on their tails, "Oh, no you don't!" She presses a button that soon forces the twin's runners into duel mode, "Duel mode engaged. Auto-pilot activated."
"Here we go again..." Rua grumbled as he and Leo prepared their deck, "Let's show her how it's done!" With that the tow looked at her as all three shouted, "Duel!"

"Ladies first, you little punks!" Hilda shouted as she drew.
Leo scoffing, "I thought you were a dude..." Rua dead panned as she steamed behind them, "I summon my Iron Chain Blaster!" A rock monster mounted on a cannon with chains appeared beside her.

"I activate my Blaster's effect! By discarding one Iron Chain monster from my hand, you take 800 points of damage!" Leo swallowed as the cannon aimed at him, the monster grinning before it fired at him. Rua looked to his brother worryingly as he rode out the attack. "Ouch... Should have expected that..." [Leo: 4000-3200] "With that, I set two cards face down." Hilda cackled as she set her cards.
Rua looked worried for his brother, but soon focused, "My turn!"
[Hilda: 1; Rua: 1; Leo: 1]
"I'll play three cards face down..." He said, setting his card and ending his turn. Leo was perplexed, but trusted his brother, "OK, my move!"

"Because you control a monster and I don't, I special summon my Cyber Dragon to the field!" A large metallic and mechanical dragon soon appeared, roaring.

Hilda grinned, "Sorry, brat. But I'm activating my trap, Chain Destruction!" Leo'e eyes widened, "You're kidding!" Leo cried out as a chain pierced his hand and deck, taking out all his Cyber Dragons! Rua paled, "That's bad..." The warden cackled, "Ha, bet you didn't expect that!" Leo growled before he called out, Cyber Dragon, attack that Blaster!"
Rua tried to calm him down, "Leo! No!" But it was too late, Cyber Dragon charged at Hilda's monster, only for her to grin, temper tantrums won't get you far. I activate Threatening Roar! Now you can't attack me for the rest of the turn."
Leo felt his rage build, "Then I set a card face down and end my turn..." He growled, Rua pulling beside his brother, "Leo, don't let her get to you. Or we'll lose." He said as Hilda drew, "Aww, touching, but it's my turn!"

"First, I summon my Iron Chain Snake!" A chain leapt out onto the field, a snake's head hissing at the brothers.

"Now I activate it's effect! I equip my snake to your Cyber Dragon and it losses 800 Attack!" The snake leaps and coils around Leo's Cyber Dragon, the mechanical monster roaring loudly. (Cyber Dragon: 2100-1300) "Next I activate Poison Chain! While I have this card on the field, you two have to remove cards from the top of your deck to the grave if I don't declare a attack! And I end my turn with on more card face down." Both boys hissed as chains tugged the top card of their decks into the graveyard.
Rua drew, "My go!"

"First, I summon Terra Alchemist, Assua to my field!" A teen girl soon appeared, vials of various brown powders wrapped around her waist as she adjusted her glasses.

"Now I activate one of her effects! I can target on EARTH Attribute monster on the field, and I can tribute it by sending another from my hand to the graveyard! Then she gains attack equal to your monster's defense!" This perplexed Hilda as Rua discarded, Assua tossing a vial and casting a spell. Iron Chain Blaster was soon being swept up in swirling sand that traveled back to Assua's staff.
Hilda growled in anger, "So what? She gains no attack from that..." Rua grinned as one of Assua's vials glowed, "You'll see. When Assua's effect activates, or a EARTH monster's effect activates, she gains a spell counter. Next, I'll special summon Earth Dragon Alchemist, Assua from my hand, since I control a EARTH Spellcaster!" A older version of of Assua appears, a dragon coiled around her glowing staff as she stood proud.

A dragon with green and red eyes soon appeared by Assua as her younger counterpart turned to sand, the beast looking like it's brown body was covered in stones and rocks.

Hilda growled as Rua spun his runner to face her, "Now, Odd-Eyes Terra gains the spell counter my Alchemist Assua had. By using it, I can destroy a card on the field! And I choose Iron Chain Snake!" Odd-Eyes roared as its body glowed a orange aura, cracks forming on the chain snake around Leo's Cyber Dragon, freeing it as it destroyed the serpent. (Cyber Dragon: 1300-2100)
"Sadly, I can't attack the turn I activate this effect... But I can activate my face-down spell, Alchemy Draw! When I control a 'Alchemist', I can remove one Speed Counter so I can draw a card, but I must banish a monster of that attribute from my deck during my next end phase." [Rua SC: 3]Speaking of, I have to now banish my Assua and Odd-Eyes." Both monsters soon vanish, Hilda chuckling, "And what was the point of that?"
Leo grinned as he drew.
[Hilda: 5; Rua: 4; Leo: 5]
"Nothing much... But this! Cyber Dragon, attack that hag directly!" Hilda's eyes widened as the metallic dragon fired a laser at her, the explosion rocking her and slowing her runner down. [Hilda: 4000-1900 SC:3]
Hilda growled, the boys shuddering after a proud hi-five. "Uh oh... Err... I'll summon my Morphtronic Celfon!" A small cellphone appeared, morphing into a robot.

The numbers start to flash on the Morphtronic's chest, "Now I activate its effect!" 1... 4... 2... 4... 2! "since I got a 2, I can draw 2 cards, if it's a Morphtronic with a level of 4 or lower, I can special summon it!" He drew, smiling as he soon held up a card, "And I drew my Morphtronic Lantron! So I can special summon it!" He shuffles the other card while a Lantern appeared.

Rua smiled as he knew what was coming next, "Now I tune my Level one Lantron with my Level 1 Celfon and Level 5 Cyber Dragon to Syncro Summon my Power Tool Dragon!" The trio of monsters soon vanish in a bright light, a new monster appearing in their place: a yellow mechanical dragon with a screwdriver on one arm and a bulldozer in the other. "Nice! We got Power Tool!" Rua cheered as they sped down the road and turned sharply to the left.

"First, I summon my Iron Chain Coil!"
A short ball-like monster rested on a spool of coil with chain arms appeared, looking more like a toy.

"Next, I activate my trap, Call of the Haunted, to revive my Iron Chain Snake!" The boys knew what was coming next, "I don't like this..." Rua said as Hilda chuckled, "As you shouldn't brat. Now I tune my level 3 Iron Chain Coil with my Level 3 Iron Chain Snake to Syncro Summon my Iron Chain Dragon!" The two chain monsters soon vanish in white light, a Dragon emerging with chains rattling around its body.

"Oh crap!" Leo and Rua said as Hilda pointed at Power Tool, "I activate my dragon's effect, I can banish all my Iron Chain monsters in my graveyard and increase my dragon's attack by 200 for each!" Leo blinked, "Uh... That's... 4 monsters?" He wasn't that good at math while Rua finished, "800 attack!" He warned Leo. (Iron Chan Dragon: 2500-3300)
"Let's see you weasel your way outta this! I attack that overgrown toy with my Chain Dragon!" Power Tool brought the buzz saw as a shield while Hilda's dragon blasted it with flames. It was shocking to Hilda that Power Tool soon emerged unscathed, "What!?" [Leo: 3200-2200 SC:5]
Leo smiled, "While I took damage, I can save my Power Tool Dragon by destroying a Equip card equipped to it." Hilda grinned, "Well, since you took damage, you have to discard 3 card from your deck to the grave!" Leo matched her smirk, "That's OK, because I'll take your dragon out! It's thanks to my Double Tool C&D! Since you battled my Power Tool with it equipped, you dragon goes bye bye after the damage!" Hilda's dragon roared as it crack and shattered before a stunned Hilda's face. "I-I..."
"End your turn? All up to you Rua!" With a smile, Rua drew, "With pleasure!"

"Now, I activate my face-down trap, Flip Call! When I have a spell counter, I can special summon a Flip Effect monster and activate it's effect!" Rua said, soon holding up a card, "Now I'll activate my speed spell, Spell Power Grasp! When I have a Speed Counter, I can add a Spell Counter to a card that can hold it, which I choose my Flip Call! Now I can special summon my Lyna, the Light Charmer!" A small girl with short white hair appeared with a bright staff.

Hilda scoffed, more worried about Power Tool, "That brat won't hurt me." Lyna puffed her cheeks at that, making Rua blink in confusion before he shook his head, "Not alone, she can't. But I activate my other trap, Spiritual Light Art-Hijiri! By tributing her, I can special summon a banished monster I controlled." Hilda grew pale as Lyna cast the spell, fading into a blinding light, soon replaced by a familiar Odd-Eyes Terra Dragon!
"N-No! I can't lose to brats like you two!"" Hilda cried out, Leo sticking his tongue out. "Looks like you just did. Odd-Eyes, finish this, Spiral Sand Shot!" Odd-Eyes roared before firing a blast of black and red sand at the warden, knocking her off the road in a screaming heap. [Hilda: 0]
The twins hi-five as they rode down the street in victory. However, a blaring truck soon brought them back into reality, the two having to separate before Rua soon flew up a makeshift ramp holding his hand out to Leo as he got launched in the opposite direction, "Leo!" "Rua!"
Terra Alchemist Assua: If your opponent controls a EARTH monster (s), target one and activate the following effects once per turn:
-Discard a EARTH monster from your hand, if you do, destroy that target. If you do, this card gains ATK equal to the destroyed monster's DEF.
-This card gains a Spell Counter each time a EARTH monster's effect is activated (Max 3). This card gains 200 DEF for each one.
If this card leaves the field, move the Spell Counters to a card that can hold Spell Counters. If the card is a EARTH Attribute monster, apply the second effect to that monster.
Earth Dragon Alchemist, Assua: If you control a EARTH Spellcaster-Type or Dragon-Type monster, you can special summon this card from your hand. You can tribute one EARTH Spellcaster or Dragon-Type monster and special summon one EARTH Spellcaster or Dragon-Type monster, but banish it and this card at the end of your turn. When this card is destroyed (by battle or card effect), special summon one level 3 or lower EARTH Spellcaster to your field. And if you do, you can banish this card from the graveyard and treat that monster as a tuner for a Synchro Summon.
Odd-Eyes Terra Dragon: Once per turn, if this card has a Spell Counter (Max 1), you can remove that Spell Counter to destroy 1 card on the field. If this card destroys a monster as a result of battle, all battle damage is doubled. Also, add 1 Spell Counter to this card after this effect resolves.
