Also to Leah in reply to your question, I've gotten your review and thank you very much for it!
The calm before the storm.
She didn't understand why it was called that. Looking out at the dark sky Larisa scowled as the dark clouds in the distant slowly got closer and closer. It would get here around the time John would no doubt get here…he would have to stay the night and this place wasn't safe. Both Claude's were completely off the radar. That told her nothing good would be coming.
Walking over to Thompson, Larisa pointed toward London, "Go there and stop John, we can't have him getting stuck here. Besides, I think this is still a century were the common cold can kill…I don't know for sure. School isn't exactly my strong suit. Then again anything dealing with smarts isn't it," she said grumbling the last part to herself.
Looking at her Thompson frowned, "You do realize if you send me out your leaving yourself vulnerable?" he asked.
Frowning Larisa nodded, "I know but we can't have John coming here. I rather get attacked then have him come here and be a casualty of either Claude. So go and just try to come back as quick as you can and if he looks like he's going to defy you make him sick or something. Or take him home and make sure he'll sleep the entire day away," she told him.
Nodding at that Thompson gave her a bow before he left. Looking around the church house, Larisa half expect to see either Claude climbing out of the woodwork but was happy to see she was wrong. She didn't know how to explain it but today was making her feel very on edge. It may be stupid to send away her only means of protection right now but John was so young. She wouldn't let a demon end his young life and if Claude was getting desperate who knew what he would do.
Pacing back and forth Larisa flinched when a crack of thunder shook the church. She wondered if this old place would stand up to the upcoming storm. Getting lost in those thoughts, she didn't take notice when a certain silver hair man waltzed into the church. Watching the young girl pace, Charles smiled as she paced completely unaware of his presence. She was lost in thought and judging from her expression it was thoughts of worry and concern.
Standing in silence he quietly wonder if he should wait and see when she would take notice or if he should just move things along. Following her back and forth, Charles decided instead to study her more. Now at least she looked more like a fairy, fake wings and all. The dress she wore was pure white and hung loose on her form. It was so loose and flowing that it didn't give one much look at her figure…although he knew what her figured looked like.
Flushing a little at the memory of walking in on her, he frowned and continued to watch her. The dress was pure white with wide straps and no sleeves. Her arms were bare and her legs completely engulfed in her full heavy skirt. He could see some silver sparkling along the hem and over the bodice reminding him of silver fireworks. It seem rather out of fashion, both old and new. It was out of touch with the world if he was completely honest, which probably helped her sell her fairy act.
Her wings looked to be made of some sheer fabric that glimmered in rainbow hues and were shaped like butterfly wings only with the ends looking rather jagged. They floated behind her and with her hurried movements at the moment they seemed to be flapping, "You certainly sell fairy, that's for certain," he said startling her badly.
Wincing when she tripped over her skirt, Charles sighed and made his way over to her finding her tangled up in her skirt. Bending down her found her spitting out her raven braid and smirked, "You only sell it in appearance however," he said lending a hand in untangling her.
Frowning the girl eyed him and the look in her eyes told him she knew him, how he wasn't sure but she seemed to recognize him, "How do you know fairies are graceful. For all you know their foul mouth clumsy drunks," she said casually.
"Well then London has a lot of fairies!" he said cheerfully.
Forming a scowl the fairy shook her head, "Don't play cute…now who are you?" she asked stepping away from him. Caution in her eyes as she gazed at him, taking in his appearance.
Watching her do this Charles smiled and gave her a flamboyant bow, "You may call me Charles Grey," he said, and he could have sworn he heard her mutter 'Of course'. Standing up straight once more, Charles pulled out the queen's invitation, "I'm a butler to the Queen and I'm here to deliver an invitation!" he said pulling out an envelope holding it out for her to see fancy script. Waiting for her to take the letter Charles instead found a look of distaste enter Miss Fairy's eyes.
Taking another step back Larisa shook her head, "I refuse, tell the queen I'm not one to be associated with!" she said forcefully.
Stepping closer to the girl, Charles followed her till he backed her up into a corner of the church room and once she was trapped he put an arm over her head and leaned in. Getting close he watch a delicate blush dust her cheeks, "I'll be the judge of that, fairy! Now, let's start with your name," he said pulling away once he was done. Heading for one of the pews he sat down and smiled at the young girl, "Since I've given mine, its only proper you give me yours," he said happily.
Frowning as he made himself at home, Larisa sighed and looked away, how many people were connected to her, were connected to the past! Ciel, Sebastian, Undertaker, Ronald, Will, and now Charles. What, were all of Kouji and Kouichi's friends in the past as well! What about Agni and Soma or hey what about that crazy Chinese guy named Lau! "…My name is Larisa Daniels and I'm not a fairy…I just took on the disguise," she told him. She was really wondering why she even did it at this point she now had another visitor who came because of her fairy lie.
"Larisa…that's an odd name, and not very fairy like. I suppose it's a good thing you're not sticking to your fairy lie," he said.
"Should I have told you I'm Titania?" she asked sarcastically.
Smirking at that Charles shook his head, "No, because then I would have asked you where's Oberon!" he told her teasingly.
Gazing at him Larisa crossed her arms, "Oberon is unavailable at the moment," she told him.
"So there's an Oberon?" asked Charles.
"Isn't there always?" she questioned back.
Crossing his arms, Charles peered toward the back room, "So what are you? A prostitute on the run, or are you using this as your quarters and cultivating some kind of fantasy? Are you someone's daughter who just got pushed toward a man she doesn't wish to marry? An artist trying something strange? What's your story?" he asked her firing question after question
Sighing Larisa decided to dive right in, "I'm an eccentric human, no I'm not a prostitute, I'm not running from an arranged marriage, and I am an artist but I stick to canvas rather than whatever this would qualify as. As for my story, I'm in hiding and I'll do a lot better if you go away and don't speak of me. So tell the queen I'm a crazy person, one she shouldn't mix with alright!" she told him.
"That is for me to decide," said Charles.
Groaning Larisa shook her head, "Is everyone in London born stupid! I mean I get it with John, he's a kid and he thinks he knows but you're close to a grown adult or you are a grown adult! What part of dangerous person do you not get? If you stay close to me you are in danger, no ifs, ands, or buts!" she told him annoyed. Honestly why did no one listen when you gave out those warnings, and what was worst was the person in question usually ended up blaming you!
Gazing at her with an unafraid expression Charles smirked, "I'm pretty sure I can handle whatever kind of danger you have after you! Beside when the queen wants something her willing servants will go to the ends of the earth to retrieve it so what's after you. If I have to get rid of somebody to bring you to her majesty then start giving me the details. I would like to get things done before dinner," he said confidence oozing off of him but Larisa couldn't feel safe.
Frowning Larisa crossed her arms, "These guys aren't the kind of people you can get rid of so easily," she told him not impressed in the slightest. The Charles from her time was much more deadly, he had a holy weapon on his person and it visibly started Sebastian. Charles told her the ancestor who he was named for was the one who started them off as Demon Hunters. So no doubt this guy would get them started off as demon hunters and it was her luck that made her think he wasn't a demon slayer yet.
"Well I'm the kind of guy who shouldn't be underestimated!" he told her smirking.
"You know, that kind of arrogance will get you killed," she commented.
"I couldn't have said it better myself," said a booming voice above.
Freezing in fear, Larisa shook and slowly looked up finding golden eyes peering down at her with a hungry gleam reflected in them. Walking off the rafters he stood on Claude drop down right in front of her breaking the boards with his landing. She could tell right away this was the Claude of now, there were no hidden feelings in his eyes only a crazed hunger.
Backing away as he climbed out of the hole she found his clothes ripped up, wrinkled and covered with dirt, grass, and who knows what else. His hair was all over the place and he looked ready to sink his teeth into her, "…Claude," she whimpered.
"Hello, Miss Treasure," he said a blood thirsty grin in place.
Scribbling away in the books, Sebastian calculated Ciel's expenses today while writing down all their findings about the missing children. Pausing his scribbling he listened to the breathing of the house and found Ciel, Soma, and Agni to still be fast asleep. He was waiting for his stalker to come out of the shadows already. He knew someone had been watching them all day but whoever had yet to attack and instead seemed insistent on playing this little game.
Getting lost in the books once more he finally felt a spike at the back of his head and he stood up, "Finally, I was beginning to worry they wouldn't show themselves till morning. That would have been a hassle, taking care of whoever while avoid Mr. Agni while also taking care of breakfast. Honestly the rudeness of some people," he said checking his pocket watch.
Straightening up his clothes, Sebastian paused and walked over to his wardrobe. Opening up he dug through it for a moment before pulling out a small box. Inside was a flask of Larisa's blood. He had slowly filled it up waiting for when this would come. Shaking I t up he tucked it into his breast pocket he sighed and headed out, hopefully his body heat would warm the blood up. Drinking it cold really wasn't the same, besides it always tasted sweeter when it came fresh out of her veins.
Fading through the shadows Sebastian stepped out on roof and found Claude across from him, this must be the Claude from the future however judging by the expression he wore. The Claude of this time would never dare show him a look of utter desperation, "Let me guess, your plan is blowing up in your face as they always do?" he asked him amused.
Scowling Claude marched toward him, "Mock all you want but you must tell me her place of hiding, I can smell her on you!" he snapped.
Standing his ground Sebastian shook his head, "No, my young master has insisted that I no longer let you harm his granddaughter. He would like if I had no contact with her as well but that ship as sailed as you well know," he told him calmly.
Listening to Claude growl, Sebastian watched the demon turn away from him and pace, "I've found her, I can feel it and my past-self had horrible plans for Larisa! Tell me where she is so I may save her from that faith!" he yell.
Watching him calmly Sebastian could see the desperation in his eyes and had to restrain himself from glancing in Larisa's direction. He was too far away to catch her scent and while his hearing was great he couldn't hear that far…at least not while in the city. He couldn't leave the young master either to go check on Larisa either. Even with Agni he didn't trust Ciel to anyone while in London especially in the middle of a mission, he had been burned on that front before.
Gazing at Claude calmly, Sebastian frowned and reached out pointing to him, "If you intend to save her you will swear to me in a way that demons swear that you will take her back. Whether or not you have completed your plan," he told him.
Watching the male stiffen Sebastian continued, "This move of yours was a desperate man's mistake, you won't win Larisa this way. Killing me is but a Band-Aid in dealing with her, there is something about my future self that she loves. Something I gain will give me her heart. Discover what it is and you may be able to steal her out from under me. After all you are a step closer to her than I am, from the way she talks she loves me but I do not love her. I have feelings but I do not love her. You do love her," he said tempting Claude.
He wasn't keen on trying to give him advantage but he needed to get them all back home, all of them had suffered from this stay. Larisa's Ciel was having more trouble with his sleep and it was beginning to affect his health. Samantha was beginning to suffer from depression. Then Larisa, she had lost some weight, not to mention her longing for him was very apparent.
She attempted to seek some kind of comfort from him despite not quite liking him.
All of them desperately wished to return home. Samantha's pranks had actually lost their luster and the younger Ciel had gone completely quiet. Frowning at him, Sebastian held out his hand, "If you care about her like you believed you do. Then you will take her and the others home, they're human and humans are fragile. They can't take much more of this," he told him.
Glaring Claude held out his hand, "I swear on my name and my power," he hissed his hand glowing with black flames as his eyes lit up bright.
Copying him Sebastian grasp his hand his glove burning away, "You'll find Larisa at the church, the only one we dare not enter," he told him.
With that Claude disappeared, turning to gaze off into the direction of the church house. Sebastian headed back in and made a mental note to tell Ciel in a discreet manner that they would finally be rid of their guests. "Well, I look forward to the day we finally reunite, Larisa!" he said amused.
Standing frozen in front of younger Claude, Larisa shook a she gazed at him he looked really unhinged and ready to flip. Smiling down at her the raven head leaned forward and gave her a look that sent chills down her spine, "You have no idea how hard it was to find you, Miss Treasure. I commend you for giving my future self the slip however! It did help things along!" he said amused.
"Did it now," she said nervously taking a step back from him.
Nodding he kept his eyes on her, "As much as I hate to admit it, my future self is stronger than me but his feelings got in the way. I personally just don't get it, you're in no way appealing. Kotomi at least had some looks, you on the other hands are simply your energy!" he said glowering at her taking a step toward her.
Backing away from him she shook her head, "I know that but you know the saying, you catch more flies with honey," she mutter nervously.
"You are nothing but food," he said.
"Ouch," said Larisa wincing. She always knew there would be demons who saw her as nothing but food but to actually be told that to your face was a little harsh. Frowning she back away from him as he stalked toward her only to catch a flash of white. Looking past Claude she felt her heart drop out of her chest when Charles came in for a strike. He had an evil look in his eye as he came toward them and he moved in a graceful arc as he went for a kill strike.
Before Claude could take notice of Charles, he manage to slash him across his back and then he delivered a killing blow by stabbing him through the back and through the heart. Watching surprise touch Claude, Larisa wasted no time and darted around him. Grabbing Charles wrist she pulled him along, "Come on that isn't going to stall him for long!" she cried leading him toward the door.
Scowling at those words, Charles allowed her to pull him along but questioned her, "What do you mean? That was a killing blow!" he snapped.
"For a human maybe," snapped Larisa only to skid to a stop when Claude appear in front of them.
Whimpering she stepped back just as Charles took to the front holding up his sword in a defensive stance, "If he's not human then what is he and how do I stop him," he snarled.
Frowning at that Larisa peered at his back and debated for about three seconds. He was going to learn of demons eventually so it didn't matter if she told him. He would learn of it, so did it really matter when he learned of them. "He's a demon and…" she started before pausing. He could go in for a kill but she couldn't let that. She needed Claude alive he rescued her from her death. Still they were as good as dead if he didn't take down this clearly insane Claude.
"…You have to take off his head," she told him reluctantly.
Claude did save her from the serial killer she should have fallen victim to as a child but maybe Sebastian would be able to rescues her as well. Either way she would die, now or then and right now it didn't really matter! Licking his lips, Charles smirked, "Now you're speaking my language!" he said rushing forward. The next few minutes Larisa watched as the silver hair boy who resembled her first crush dance a deadly tango with Claude.
He flipped and twisted around Claude who movements got wilder and wilder, becoming more animal like with each injury Charles inflicted upon him. Flinching when he finally hit the demon, Larisa felt her lunch roll around uncomfortably as his sword cut through a good deal of his neck. Claude however grabbed the blade and swung it away retreating up to the beams knocking away Charles attempts to follow him and finish the job.
Growling when he was defected once more, Charles landed near her and look over, "What else! This is getting me nowhere, even if I hit him I can't finish the job seeing how this doesn't exactly phase him!" he said swinging his sword toward her.
Shaking her head, Larisa pointed to Claude, "He's a demon only the demon sword or a holy weapon can really phases him and sorry I have neither. I don't even know where you would find them!" she told him quickly.
"Holy weapon! God's real…well I guess I'm destine for hell," he grumbled annoyed.
"I have no clue about God but Angels are real, they're supposed to be the demons opposite. You know; light and dark, yin and yang, black and white. That whole deal," she told him.
"Yeah that's very interesting" he said sarcastically.
"Just leave, you don't have any business here. Just tell the queen you found me mentally unstable!" she snapped, annoyed with him.
"Stay out of this," he snapped darting back toward Claude once he returned to fight.
Holding back the frustrated scream, Larisa sat on edge when once more the fight started up but with Charles being human Claude quickly found himself an opening when he tired. Letting out a startled cry when Claude finally got a good hit. The white clad boy was thrown across the room with enough force to send him through the wall. Running to the hole Larisa peered out a found Charles folded over in a heap, ready to race over she was stopped when a hand grasped her throat.
Lifting off the ground by her throat past Claude glared at her his eyes showing his fury with her, gasping as he squeezed her windpipe Larisa' vision began to blur. Still she peeked out and looked at Charles searching for any sigh of life in him and felt a slip of relief to see his chest rise. That relief was quickly squashed when a certain demon tossed her just like Charles. She was sent in the opposite direction and with the same amount of force. Feeling pain rip at her back as splinter dug into her back Larisa banged and rolled on the ground.
The landing jolted the air from her.
Struggling to breathe she finally felt sweet relief when it came back, sucking in a deep breath she cough and struggled to sit up. Listening to a roll of thunder she wince when the rain clouds shadow draped over the land and rain raced toward her. She could see it coming and when it finally reached her fat rain drops touched her drenching her in seconds.
Before she could even think of a plan however Claude was upon her once more and he grasped her throat once more lifting her up, "Alright little treasure, you're going to tell me your date of birth," he said with a evil smile.
Grabbing his hand Larisa reached out with her legs and pushed against him giving her throat some relief, "Why?" she croaked out before slipping and chocking once more. Letting go of her and allowing her to slam into the water and mud with a wet painful plop, Claude watched as Larisa coughed, "Why would you want to know that?!" she cried.
Looking at her coldly, Claude kicked his leg out sending her flying into the mud once more, "Answer me Larisa, what I intend to do with your birth date is of no concern to you," he said coolly.
Scrambling up, Larisa glared at Claude, "Yes it does!" she snapped only to get back handed.
Careening once more into the ground Larisa groaned in pain. Her jaw was throbbing so painfully and she her body was beginning to ache. Turning over she watched him stalk toward her, "Enough with the hitting damn it! What do you want?" she cried getting annoyed.
Grabbing the front of her dress and lifting her up once more, Claude smiled, "Do you really want to know?" he asked her his smile making her go colder than then rain.
Biting her lip she gaze into his eyes and found the promise of misery reflected in them, "I want to know what you have planned for me!" she said firmly. She wouldn't let him scare her if it was her life then she would have to know about it. She would find out in the end anyways.
Smiling at that, Claude bow his head and dropped her once more only this time she was able to land on her feet back peddling she had to strain to hear him as the rain fell all around them. Smirking the bespectacled demon threw his arms out in a rather dramatic flair, "You are the treasure, and everything about you can empower a demon. Whether it be drinking your blood, devouring your flesh, making love to you, or kissing you. Although the latter two need your cooperation. You see you give over your power when you love your demon…without love all one can get through contact is a small amount of energy equivalent to a cup of blood. So there's no mirth in raping you," he said.
Shuddering at his words Larisa stayed completely quiet as she listened to him, not daring to interrupt him and get another strike. Tucking his arms behind his back, he smirked at her, "My future-self made a mistake by bring you back, he should have made sure you would have never came. Because you came though you will remember that you love Sebastian and not me. If you have been in your correct time you would have never know the change. Now though you will which makes you utterly useless for my plans so I'm just going to have to recycle you," he said with a cruel smile.
"…recycle me?" she questioned him.
Nodding he bent down and grabbed her face, "You're going to give me your birth date and the location of your birth. Afterward I'm devouring you and letting your soul return to its destination but I'll be on the other side ready to collect it and then I will use you and devour you over and over. I will control your rebirth and devour you each time till I have a power that no other can compare too. I will become even more powerful than those so called Gods you people devote yourself to…now your date of birth and if you're not feeling very loose with your lips I'm more than willing to pry them open," he said joyfully, looking very much like a demon at the moment.
Shaking in fear as his beautiful features morphed into a horror inducing nightmare Larisa felt as if she was on a cliff edge, she had two fates ahead of her. Fall off the cliff and expect a quick kill or stay on solid ground and let the pack of ravenous wolves rip her apart. Squeezing her eyes shut Larisa shook her head, "I'm not telling you!" she declared. She was completely terrified but wouldn't make her future lives face him, the days of the treasure being eaten like some snack cake was done and over with. Beside…she would die of blood loss eventually and death would erase the pain.
Feeling Claude squeeze her in a crushing grip Larisa didn't dare open her eyes as he whispered into her ear, "That was a mistake," he hissed.
"Maybe but I rather not put my reincarnated selves through you," she said snapping open her eyes to glare at him. She was many things; stupid, foolish, and overly emotional but she wasn't evil and she wouldn't put anyone else through something like this. So even though she was scared and ready to pee her skirt she wouldn't tell him what he wanted to know.
"You will regret that decision!" he said tossing her to the ground.
"You're probably right about that," said Larisa in agreement.
Stalking toward a wide eyed Larisa, Claude began to torture her just as Charles began to come to his head throbbing as he gazed out in grogginess. Spitting out mud and blood he pushed himself up feeling the rain drench him. Shaking his head he cried out when his ribs and head throbbed together only to jump when a scream ripped through the open air. Looking back toward the church house he pushed himself up and grabbed his sword before stumbling toward the hole. He wiped away blood from his chin and groaned.
Slipping in the mud when another scream ripped through the air he fell to his knees and felt the world spin around him. Maybe he needed a rest but the Queen's fairy would probably die if he did that, grimacing he took a minute flinching at each scream that sounded. Pushing himself up Charles pushed one foot in front of the other and could feel bile build up in his throat. Falling to his knees once more he spilled his lunch all over the floor with a grimace.
Damn it all to hell, his vision was going spotty. Clamping his eyes shut Charles tried to steady his mind as it spun, the pain filled screams were not helping matters. Standing up once more he slowly made his way toward a second hole and when he looked out he grimace. He couldn't do a thing, watching as the queen's fairy was tortured he turned his gaze toward the…demon.
Demons were real!
Scowling he tried to remember what Larisa told him, a demon sword and holy weapons. Those were the only things that could stop a demon. You also had to take off their heads. The queen needed to be told of this, demons were a threat and they needed to be stop!
Feeling the light-headedness increase, Charles tried to hold onto his consciousness before at last it once more slipped through his fingers. His last sight being Larisa and the demon summoning some twisted looking blade that he pointed threateningly at her. Letting his head fall he could hear voices but he faded off to the darkness.
Laying on the ground feeling as if she had been though a meat tenderizer, her body throbbed painfully as she laid on the ground. She was pretty sure she just experienced the live version of the Cruciatus Curse, she had new respect for Harry Potter. He experienced something like this without uttering a single scream, she did nothing but scream out in pain.
"Tell me when you're born, Larisa. Then all of this will end. I'll end your life quickly, painlessly even, all you have to do is just tell me your date of birth and where you were born," said Claude.
Shaking her head, Larisa grimaced and pushed herself up on shaky arms, "NO! I won't make my reborn selves have to deal with you for all of eternity! So just finish it already," she cried.
Scowling Claude summoned up the demon sword he acquired from Hannah, he intended on using it only on Sebastian but so be it. He would use this to end her, if she wouldn't tell him then he would just have to do this the hard way. Glaring down at Larisa who glared at him defiantly he lifted the blade and plunged it toward her heart, "Fine, die like the fool you are!" he yelled.
Pushing her body to roll away from the blade Larisa felt it cut through her side but she paid that no heed, finding strength from deep within she surged to her feet and raced away. Hearing Claude sigh she didn't dare look back, "Your only making this worse for yourself!" he cried stalking after her.
She ignore him tried to think of a plan anything but found her mind at a blank. What could she do? All Larisa was, was a normal human being who could give demons power ups. She now could control the energy within thanks to Femi but she couldn't wield it to hurt others. Crying out in pain when a swearing pain sliced through her shoulder, Larisa fell to the ground and looked up to see the sword.
It was embedded in the ground with her blood dripping off of it.
Scrambling up Larisa grabbed the blade and turned to Claude, he didn't pause in walking toward her though if anything his smile grew. Furrowing her brow, Larisa felt excruciating pain race up her arms and cried out dropping the blade finding her hands and arms bloody. How did that happen? It felt like lightening raced through her arms but her arms were cut up. Lightening burned not cut.
Smiling at her he grabbed the sword and smirked, "Sorry sweetheart but only someone with demon blood may hold the sword. I guess this puts to rest of the rumors of you being a human with a demon's heart!" he said amused.
Watching him feeling all hope drain out of her, Larisa frowned as Claude stopped in front of her, "I'll give you one last chance little treasure. Tell me your birthday and maybe I'll do something nice and hit you right through your heart instead of making sure to give you a slow death. I know plenty of place to stab you to make sure you bleed out slowly!" he said raising the sword high.
Frowning Larisa shook her head, "No, I refuse to put my future lives through your awful plan! I choose to die painfully!" she cried. There was no way she would allow this. Femi had been through enough of seeing herself die horribly she would only make her go though it once more. Beside it was unfair to her future selves to have to deal with this kind of Claude.
She just didn't get it how could he be this demented? Her Claude while a lunatic wasn't evil enough to treat her like a snack cake. Standing on shaky legs Larisa squeezed her eyes shut as he rose his arm his sword posed to attack. Hearing the sword stab through the air she winced when the sound of it stabbing through flesh hit her, pausing waiting for the pain she felt nothing but a warm wet on her.
Opening her eyes slowly she found a back in front of her. They wore black and the blade was peeking out of it. Shaking Larisa reached up and wiped away the wetness and found dark red staining her hands and not only that her hand was going see-through. Stumbling back the one who took the sword for her fell back right into her arms. Falling down with them she ignored the pain from her wounds and let out a hush scream when she found Claude in her arms.
He had an ugly wound on his chest right near his heart, "Claude?!" she sobbed.
Smiling the raven hair, golden eye demon peered up to her with a smile, "I apologize for myself, Larisa," he said softly.
"Claude! What did you do?!" she cried.
"Yes, what did you do you fool!" yelled the other Claude.
Looking over Larisa winced when he raised the sword and sliced through her intent to take off her head but the blade passed through her without doing any damage, "Your too late, if I'm dying we're leaving which means you can no longer hurt or feed on the treasure," Claude told him laughing.
"We could have had power, power that no one in their right mind could stand up too," yelled past Claude.
"I don't want power, you idiot…I want Larisa," said her Claude tiredly.
Feeling that small measure of warmth float through her, Larisa shook her head and reached down to kiss Claude giving him her energy. Pulling back she looked at the wound and found it slowly closing before once more opening back up. Leaning down she kissed him once more, then again, then again before finally he stopped her. Putting a hand against her lips Claude sighed, "That won't work Larisa, the demon sword is more powerful than you right now," he said pushing her away.
"But I can't do nothing!" she yelled.
"Nothing is all you can do I'm afraid," he muttered.
Shaking her head Larisa sobbed, "Why did this have to happen? Why did you have to go this far Claude? Don't you know that I do love you in some way? It's not like Sebastian but a small part of me loved you and I know you knew that! Why did you have to do this when you knew?!" she asked him.
Staring up at her, Claude frowned, "When a demon finds a mate to take their mark it's a rare occasion, because we go further than humans ever could. Our mates are something we protect with every fiber of our being. When we actually love the woman who will be our mate, how much further do you think we'll go? I wanted your love no matter what. I wanted all of your love as well not just a fraction, I'm only doing what any demon would do," he said closing his eyes.
Gazing at him shocked, Larisa could feel her body turn completely cold as slowly the world around them vanished and when Claude took his last breath they had returned. Feeling the rain fall down on her she could hear the voices of Shiro, Sam, and Ciel. Even felt their hands but her gaze stayed on Claude, gazing at him as he left the world. Then she went blank, she could feel nothing, hear nothing, and all she could think was one thing.
Was the treasure really a good thing?
Past Claude went insane with desire for her blood. All he could think about was devouring her flesh and blood to make himself stronger. This Claude died trying to gain her love? What if she did this to Sebastian?! What if she made him loose his sanity? Feeling panic build up at her core, Larisa was startled when warm hands cupped her face.
Turning her head with them she found Sebastian crouched in front of her with a calm expression, his eyes searching her face while around him Sam and Ciel looked panicked. "Larisa…let go of Claude, Undertaker is going to take him away and bury him for you," he said calmly.
Looking at him confused, Larisa look down and found her hands clenched his jacket slowly prying her fingers from his jacket she bit her lip. "Sorry," she muttered quietly. She shouldn't be hanging onto another man in front of him but she couldn't deny that Claude passing affected her. Releasing him at last she wrapped her arms around herself as Undertaker with Shiro's help took Claude away.
As they did Larisa felt warmth envelope her along with Sebastian's scent, snapping out of her daze all noise came back and she could feel and hear once more. She could hear the rain, Sam and Ciel's panic breathing, and her own quiet breathing. The pain also came back, it sliced through her shoulder and side not to mention her entire body ached.
Reaching down Sebastian picked her up and frowned, gazing into his eyes Larisa quickly adverted her gaze away not quite sure what to tell him. They arrived just as they left…to him no time had passed while they spent months in another place. Not only that she was banged up all to hell. Sighing Sebastian looked over to Ciel and Samantha, "Go home, I'll take care of Larisa then we'll discuss what happen," he told them both.
"But!" cried Ciel.
"Tomorrow Ciel…" said Sebastian firmly making his way to the house.
Watching them leave Ciel frowned and glared at the ground, "Go ahead and say it," he muttered to Sam shaking as he clenched his fist.
Looking over at the small boy, Sam sighed and reached over to ruffle his hair, "I'm not going to tell you anything, in the long run this was the safest outcome for all of us. Shiro told us if we went off script we had the possibility of getting everyone killed. Now come on, you're going to catch a cold Mr. Delicate," she said pressing her hand against his back.
"I should have listened to you!" said Ciel upset.
"She's alive and we're alive Ciel, that was all we could hope for so don't beat yourself up," said Sam leading him away.
Watching Sebastian take Larisa inside and Sam take Ciel home, Undertaker sighed as tucked the demon away in his customize-made coffin. He never imagined he would bury a demon but here he was about to give one its final rest. "How do you have a coffin ready?" asked Shiro scowling.
Looking over to the albino demon, Undertaker smiled, "Because I knew I would need it," he said.
"How? You should have forgotten meeting her?! Just as Master Sebastian did! Not to mention you disappeared after we met with the earl," cried Shiro.
Turning to face him Undertaker smiled, "You know my payment, make me laugh and I'll give you all the answers you want!" he said amused.
Frowning Shiro crossed his arms before wracking his brain, "…Larisa hugged the Earl Phantomhive," he said. Getting nothing from Undertaker, he sighed and tried to think of something to make him laugh so he could get his answers. The next few minutes were spent with Shiro attempting to get a laugh till finally at last Undertaker gave him a small laugh.
"It utterly pathetic how bad you at this!" chortled Undertaker.
Glaring at the grey hair man, Shiro scowled, "Emotions are new to me and I don't exactly go around trying to be a comedian," he snapped.
Waving him off Undertaker whipped a tear from his eye before he launched into an explanation, "Usually when people go to the past they set things into motion that are meant to be so they are not forgotten by some. Three things came to be with this trip. Larisa showed me the Phantomhive line was indeed the bloodline the treasure would be reborn in, and even gave me a general idea of when to release her soul. Demons were exposed to the Earl Charles Grey which in turn made the queen create her band of demon slayers. Then, I'm quite sure Larisa learned about her existence as the treasure and how she came to be. After you met up with the little earl I made sure to keep my distance seeing how we weren't on good terms. So I saw her enter her mysterious coma, then awaken and hide out in the church…I would have intervened when Claude arrived and tortured her. However some old friends decided I shouldn't so I was kept busy," he explained.
Scowling Shiro looked toward the house then back to Claude, "I never imagined she would be upset if Claude died. I always knew it would end with his death but I didn't think she cry over him," he said.
Gazing down at the deceased demon king, Undertaker frowned, "Well, she and Claude have a much longer history compared to her and Sebastian. What would you expect? Beside even if that history is mostly bad there is one thing that Claude did better than Sebastian. In the end the jealous king surpassed his rival. Where Sebastian still sits at the edge of loving his queen Claude died in love with her. I wonder what will happen next?! Will Larisa reject the idea of Sebastian's love now seeing how far a demon in love will go or will she move past this and try to earn his love? What do you think?" he asked Shiro with a wide grin in place.
Scowling at that, Shiro pointed to Claude, "Take him away," he demanded.
Watching Shiro retreat into the house after Sebastian and Larisa, Undertaker looked over to Claude, "I do wonder how this will turn out! Tell me do you know?" he asked amused.
Getting nothing he sighed, "The dead truly are the best secret-keepers," he said.
Well, tell me what you think and I hope you enjoyed.
