A month had gone by since the meeting with Tsunade. Hinata had to admit she was enjoying her new life very much. She felt...free! Nobody to answer to, no one to consider when making decisions, she dedicated her life solely to herself. She had also been able to find a cozy condo that was secluded but was not unreasonably far away from civilization. Her missions were going well, and she was glad to be kept busy. It kept her from thinking about anything and thats exactly what she needed.
She, Kiba, and Shino had arrived at Konoha's gates from a long and tedious mission. Seeing those wooden gates, was such a relief. All Hinata could think about was sitting in her pearly white tub, soaking her body in some nice hot water. She gave a quick wave to Kiba and Shino before power walking her way to the condo, trying to avoid as many people as possible. Its not that she was antisocial or anything, it was just that she valued her alone time. She didn't mind Sasuke being in her space, because he made her comfortable. He knew when to leave and when to stay.
Upon her arrival she noticed a carriage sitting outside of her condo, with the Hyuuga emblem on it. She sighed, shaking her head as she continued making her way to the door. Once she reached the top of the stairs, she noticed her dad standing beside the balcony. "Hello Father" she said monotone as she made way to her door.
"I heard that you and the Uchiha have gotten a divorce. I'm confused as to why I would hear about this from the gossip instead of my own daughter." he said as he walked closer to her.
Hinata sighed and rolled her eyes as she opened her door, "Well maybe you should talk to your son-in-law about why we got a divorce..." she said giving him an obnoxious smirk before going into her apartment.
Hiashi stood there shocked, even though his face stayed the same. There was something different about Hinata, he could feel it. Especially from the way she answered him. "I knew this damn union was a mistake!" he thought to himself as he watched his now unruly daughter walk into her house. He never thought that she would get on her feet so quick though, and had to admit he was impressed.
"Are you coming in?" she called out as she made some tea in the kitchen. She really wasn't prepared to deal with him right now. She just had an exhausting mission and all she wanted to do was relax.
Hiashi was taken from his thoughts when he heard his daughter call out to him. He hesitantly stepped into the house and walked slowly over to where Hinata was standing. The house looked very nicely decorated and neat. Everything looked as if it was carefully put together with deep concentration, everything was precisely where it needed to be. He guessed it was as a result of growing up at the estate.
Hinata watched her father as she poured the tea. She was surprised that he wasn't scrutinizing everything in her house. She gingerly put the tea on a tray and made her way to the dining table. He followed seating himself quietly as he watched her move the small teacup in front of him. "Is there any special reason you're here?" she asked as she seated herself in front of him.
He never thought she would be so straightforward about it, it was obvious his eldest daughter didn't want him around and he knew the exact reason why. "I just wanted to find out about the divorce...which you have yet to explain to me." he said sternly as he took a small sip of his tea.
"Not that this is any of your concern, but Sasuke cheated." she said avoiding looking at her father.
"That's impossible..." he said without a trace of doubt in his mind went back to the day when the Uchiha walked into his home office and asked for Hinata's hand, he saw the fire that blazed in the boys eyes. He was in love with Hinata and there was no doubt about it.
Hinata couldn't help but chuckle at her dad's statement. "You know I used to feel the same way...I thought he loved me, but then when those trips to the hospital started to become frequent, something told that something fishy was going on. But me, like the good timid wife said nothing about it and sure enough one night I saw the lipstick on his shirt and then reality hit me." she said taking another sip of her tea, her anger increasing as she gripped the cup.
Hiashi swallowed as he was watched a dark aura surround his daughter. He never thought that the marriage would end so quickly, they were so passionate about their love. In order for him to cope with the union he devised plans for the bloodline mix, if they bore children. Even though he more than anyone was ecstatic about Hinata being pregnant, but when he heard that she lost the baby it was a big wound to his soul.
"If that is all father, I will be excusing myself from this conversation." she said formally as she got up, grabbing her cup and his, not caring if he was finished or not. "If you have anything else to discuss you should discuss it with him. I do not wish to be bothered with this incident anymore." she said sternly as she picked up the tray and made her way to the kitchen.
He watched as she walked into the kitchen and started busily cleaning up. She was obviously flustered and that was not his intention. What he really wanted to do was to check up on her but why was it so hard for him to convey that. Ever since they were little they've known him to be stern, but not that great a father and he wants to change that but has no idea where to start. He excused himself making his way out the door and closing it softly. He walked down the steps to the carriage and carefully made his way in. As he was on way back to the Hyuuga manor all he could think was the dream he had last night.
Flashback
Hiashi walked into the courtyard and noticed a figure sitting by the pond. When he got closer he noticed it was his deceased wife. "Hello Hiashi..." she said softly, giving him a sweet smile.
He didn't know what to say he hadn't dreamt of her in a long time. Just to see her again, made him so happy. He moved to her and slowly sat down on the bench, with a smile on his face. "I've missed you so much Hitomi"
She smiled brightly as she squeezed his hands, "Me too my darling..." she said giving him a warm smile. "I don't have much time but we must discuss our daughters. You have done a wonderful job of raising them to be strong, but you haven't shown them love."
Hiashi's head dropped, he knew it was true but he couldn't look her in the face. He felt ashamed because that was her last wish to him. She lifted his chin and made him look at her, "They are young women now, but...you have to make the effort. Promise me that you'll do this." she pleaded as she looked at him.
"I promise you" he said sincerely. He was going to keep that promise to her this time, he refused to disappoint her again.
Hitomi smiled, sighing with relief as she started to fade away. "Thank you.."
"Wait please don't go yet! Please just give me some more time!" he pleaded, but she only continued to fade away.
Flashforward
Hiashi snapped out of his trance. He felt something wet run down his face, and he realized he had been crying. He wiped his face quickly not wanting anyone to see him like this, "Driver go to the Uchiha's home" he said sternly. Even though it was long after the divorce, he still needed to have a conversation with this boy about the incident.
Hinata's Condo
Hinata was finally able to get the dirty clothes off, and the hot water felt so good around her body. She sighed with relief as she relaxed into the tub. Her mind went to her father, something about him was off today. His usual cold bastard expression wasn't on, 'I wonder if something has happened...' she thought to herself.
Sorry it took me so long to do this chapter, I'm a college student so...yeah haha. I made up Hinata's mothers name, because I really didn't know it and no matter how much research I did I couldn't find it, hope ya don't mind. Anyways I hope you enjoyed it and please review!
