Hey everyone! I finally got around to finishing this chapter. I'm sorry I took so long..sorrehhhhh, but I hope you enjoy it!
Feelings of rage plagued Hinata when she woke type of feeling hadn't greeted her in a while. The will to get out of bed was nonexistent. Consequently, conversations with her father always had that effect. Words from his mouth were piercing and hurtful. The worst part was that he knew and he didn't care. She always carried an overwhelming hate for how much of an asshole he is. The loathing was so deep, that even the sight of him or the slight sound of his voice pissed her off. If he were to die she wouldn't dare shed a tear. However, she owed her father a great thanks. He made it impossible for her to be fazed by any evil in the world. She slipped a little with Sasuke, but that won't happen again. Nevertheless, her mind suddenly went to Sai, remembering that she took out a little bit of her anger out on him. He didn't deserve that. She hoped that she didn't ruin what they seemed to be forming. Besides, having his friendship is what she needs right now and in order in to keep it she has to apologize.
A heavy sigh was released as Sasuke exited the hospital. The first therapy session was complete bullshit. From what Kakashi explained to him he thought therapists were supposed to fix things but all the guy did was ask occasional questions. A little bit of analyzation is understandable, but for him to just sit there listening the entire session was a waste in his opinion. Despite his irritation, he turned in the direction of his home, then saw a glimpse of spiky blonde hair and smirked. He hadn't seen the dobe in a little while now, their meeting was long overdue. "'Sup!" he called out to his friend.
Naruto heard Sasuke's voice but didn't look in his direction. The night before was playing over and over in his head and saying he was angry would be an understatement.
The Uchiha hung back a bit when he was ignored and usually he wouldn't care much but he felt the urge to pry. "Hey!" he called out once again as he ran up to grab the blonde's shoulder.
Naruto gritted his teeth when he felt Sasuke touch him and would brush him off aggressively. This time he turned to face the Uchiha. "Even after you've ruined her, you still feel the need to use her" he'd say in low tone as his eyes dropped to the ground. "Nothing was the same when you left Konoha...NOTHING!" His eyes moved up to Sasuke's face once again, glaring at him, "I had to put all the pieces back together and here you are...tearing them apart again."
"What?...where is this coming from?" Sasuke asked in total confusion. He knew the damage he caused to the friendships back then, but he thought since years had passed that the issues would have died down a bit by now.
"Stop acting so fucking innocent all the time" Naruto growled. "I followed her to your house last night...did you get bored? was she just something to crawl on top of for a couple of minutes?"
Sasuke continued looking confused before face palming himself, "Oh dude, no no. It's not what you're thinking. I want Hinata, remember?"
Naruto answered him with a heavy sigh, "It's not even fully your fault at this point...I just thought that for once...just this once...she would choose me" he'd say, followed by a sad chuckle as he started walking away.
"Nar-" Sasuke began to call out but stopped himself. He realized pleading his case right now would be useless. It was time to consult the missing variable in this equation.
He made his way back into the hospital to head to Sakura's office, bursting through the doors. There she was in her natural form, flirting away with a patient. "Get out" he growled at the man before turning his attention to her while the person scurried out. "I got a question for you."
Sakura looked at him in complete shock and when she finally regained her composure it was time to let him have it, "You can't just barge into my office, kicking my patients out like you run the place." She made her way around the desk picking up the phone to dial security but before she could Sasuke ripped the phone away slamming it down.
"I said I have a question" he'd say once again as his eyes pierced through her.
"I-I'm not obligated to answer anything" she stuttered as she sat down in her chair.
"I'm a little bit confused. When I called you over to my house last night to end things with you Naruto was following you" he explained. "The when he saw me today I got the backlash of the kind of anger that just didn't make sense to me... why would he be so angry about you coming to my house Sakura? " he asked as he seated himself in front of her. "Then I thought to myself...you must either have fucked him or you're still fucking him."
She wasn't expecting Sasuke to approach her about this subject but she also didn't expect Naruto to be keeping tabs on her. Since HE was asking though, she would need to force herself to remain calm. "Would that make you jealous? I thought you didn't give a fuck about what I did anymore" she'd say teasingly.
Sasuke chuckled running a hand through his hair, "You would be correct...the only person I care about in this situation is Naruto. For some reason the idiot thinks that you're some holy goddess...but I can see right through that shit."
Sakura grimaced as she seethed with anger at his words, "You fucking asshole!" she screamed, slamming her hands on the table.
The table crumbled to the ground but Sasuke didn't flinch. "You need to tell him nothing happened" he said seriously as he rose to his feet. "It's either you tell him you're not interested or actually give him a chance. Stringing him along is pathetic."
"I don't need to do a damn thing" she retorted, crossing her arms over her chest as she leaned back in her chair. Sasuke treated her like she was beneath his feet. Now he had the audacity to burst into her office and tell her what to do?...hell no.
Sasuke sighed heavily, feeling himself becoming slightly irritated. It would be amusing to piss her off some more but he would hold back for the sake of his friend. "How about you stop thinking about me here and think about him. He loves you...it's obvious and all he deserves is the truth. It's the least you could do."
"Oh yeah? The least I could do huh? You get your friend if I tell him the truth but what do I get?" she asked standing to her feet as well.
"You are so selfish, do you even hear yourself sometimes? You want a reward for being a decent human being?" he asked disgustedly.
"Get out!" she'd say angrily, slamming the doors once he stepped out. "Jokes on you asshole..."
Hinata finally managed to make herself leave the house. She figured it would be best to head to the gallery to see Sai. As she neared the building she could feel her heart start to race. Her nerves made her hesitant to go inside so she peaked in, watching him as he sat at the desk. It seemed like he was working on something and she felt kind of bad just showing up but she wanted to apologize. "Hey" she'd say as she remained in her place by the door.
Sai looked up from his doodling, smiling when he saw her. He was happy she was here. It confirmed that she didn't hate him and that was such a relief. "Hey, why are you all the way over there?" he asked with a light chuckle.
Hinata followed him with a giggle, covering her face now that she was feeling a bit silly. "I dunno...I just got a little nervous I guess" she explained, now forcing herself to step into the building.
He stood up immediately and made his way over to her, smiling down at her now. Everytime he looks at her he just feels like he needs to capture her every action. She is absolutely beautiful, an artist's dream. "Nervous? Why is that?" he asks looking over her in the most adoring way.
"After yesterday...I just thought you wouldn't want to talk to me anymore" she explained, avoiding his eyes. "It was wrong of me to take my anger out on you like that when you were just concerned."
Sai sighed softly, nodding as he listened. "You don't need to apologize. I figured you were just having a bad day. I couldn't hate you for that. Are you feeling better today?"
She shook her head in response to the question and he wasted no time in moving in to hug her. It was shocking, yet it was something she needed right now. She hates feeling vulnerable but she would allow herself this moment of happiness. "Thank you" she murmured as she nuzzled her face into his chest.
"You don't need to thank me for a hug" he'd say as he soothingly rubbed her back. "Tell you what, I'll take you out for lunch and you decide if you want to talk about it or not."
The fact that he just automatically knows that food is always the answer is so perfect, "Ok."
The two decided that ramen would be the best bet at the moment. As they walked they stayed silent, just enjoying the relaxing atmosphere that had developed. Hinata blushed a little when she felt their fingers brush from time to time. In her bravery, she poked out her pinky to hold onto his, keeping her eyes away. Sai looked over when he felt the pinky but gladly accepted by locking his with hers. After a few minutes they arrived at the shop and when they walked in they saw Naruto sitting at the bar area. He didn't look too peppy though, and it was even more apparent after the two greeted him. Hinata looked at the blond worriedly as she pondered whether she should go check on him or not.
"Go on, I'll find us a table" Sai said as he walked away in search of a good spot.
She smiled at him, responding with a nod before walking over to sit on the stool next to Naruto. "You ok?"
Naruto sighed heavily at the question and would down his shot of Sake in response. He really didn't feel the urge to explain himself. It was just easiest to drink right now.
"That bad…" she whispered turning away to face forward. "I haven't been too great lately either."
"I'm sure not in the love department though" he muttered as he moved his in head in Sai's direction. "The village is talking…"
She gritted her teeth for a second feeling a little irritated from hearing that. It wouldn't be smart to tell Naruto anything either based on the fact that he is friends with Sasuke. "He's just my friend, nothing serious" she'd say glancing at Sai.
Naruto looked at her feeling something different but he wasn't going to pry. "I would tell you what's up but it's about people you're not very fond of right now."
Hinata picked up immediately and the picture of Sakura and Sasuke came forward in her mind. "Oh they fucked you over too?" she asked in a sarcastic tone. The two of them were just very selfish people. The thought of them just disgusted her.
"They're still fucking" he snarled, gripping his cup. "The problem is I thought Sakura was going to give me a chance but she's still so obsessed with him."
The Hyuga felt a pain in her chest at Naruto's comment. This meant that Sasuke didn't care enough to stop. Anger began to sear through her as she heard him talk about Sakura, "I don't even know why you like her. She's a terrible person and the both of you are so into her" she ranted, shaking her head as she thought about it. Even when they were younger all the guys seemed to die over her.
"You don't know her like I know her. The way she acts is just a facade. She was completely broken when Sasuke left. I mean completely… it took so much to keep her interested in life. I was the one that took care of her though… I love her" he confessed.
She looked at him in complete shock. The reason for his love is valid but he was blinded. That girl is devious and people need to realize this. Why wouldn't she accept free attention from someone willing to give it to her while she longs for the person she actually wants? Why wouldn't she fill his head with foolish things if she knows it's gonna keep him around? She felt the urge to drop this truth on him but this is something he's gonna have to see the hard way. "Whatever, I wish you the best" she'd say dismissively, hopping off the stool.
Naruto wouldn't stop her since he figured this would be her reaction. He paid his bill before hopping off as well to head out of the restaurant.
Sai looked up to see Hinata stomping over and Naruto heading out. "I'm gonna guess that didn't go so well" he joked.
She sighed heavily as she pulled out the chair to sit down, shaking her head as she looked at him. "That's the last time I ask someone if they're ok" she swore.
