Secret Self: Chapter II
"God dammit!" Was the only thing heard throughout the house, as a young bluenet pressed the clock. It replied, "Nine-forty five AM." The bluenet jumped out of bed. "Shit, school starts at eight AM sharp, I'm going to be late." He ran down the stairs blindly, he through on his school uniform.
A loud barking caught his attention just then. "What is it, Spade? Something wrong girl?" The bluenet asked of the dog, but little did he know he was facing the wall. A black husky with a red collar that had a spade hanging, stood behind her owner. It trotted up to its master's free hand and nuzzled it. Her master looked down. It placed its muzzle in the young bluenet's hand. It appeared to be holding something. It was a small dark blue leather case.
The youth took the case and opened it, revealing a pair of thin-rimmed eyeglasses. "My glasses! Thanks Spade, good girl!" He gently caressed her muzzle, and put on his glasses. The cute husky then led him to a calendar on the wall. The date read 'Sunday the Eighth' under the obvious date, written in pen, was a small reminder. It read, 'Zelda, museum, ten-thirty, don't forget'. 'It's a Sunday? ... Dammit! I got scared for something that's tomorrow.' He thought this to himself as he absently pet Spade. "Thanks girl. You saved me an awkward trip downtown." He began to crawl back into bed, when he remembered the note on the calendar. He checked his watch, which ten sharp. He was left staring blankly at it for a few minutes until he comprehended what exactly was happening. As realization dawned on his face, Spade had brought him a towel. He took it, and started for the shower.
After a five-minute shower, he ran to his room to get dressed. He threw on some plain navy blue jeans and a light blue shirt. He walked down the stairs to see his trusty hound by the coat rack with his shoes. He slipped them on and put on his navy blue coat. Spade barked and he looked down to see her holding her leash.
"Good girl." He smiled at her as he took the other end and headed out the door. 'I think I'll leave her at Roy's. He loves playing with her. Besides, if I take her, she'll have to stay outside the museum 'cause of their no pet policy. Plus, what kind of owner would I be if I let her suffer like that. Anyways, what kind of friend would I be to deprive Roy of his precious chick magnet?' Marth thought all of this as he walked down Melee street and up to a house whose mailbox read 'Andon Residence'. He approached the door and knocked out the Fire Emblem theme song.
The door opened to reveal a tall redhead standing at the door, arms crossed. "Sup Eliwood?" Marth greeted. "I'm here to talk to your son." The man gave no response, so Marth continued. "Roy… your son… you know, Roy?" After a moment's pause, he still made no move to step aside and let Marth enter. Slightly irritated, Marth spoke once more. "I'm not here for money" the man stepped aside.
He walked the stairs and made his way to a door labeled 'A pyromaniac lives here'. "Yo Roy!" Marth called through the door. "Go away." He called back. "I brought Spade." At that, the door flew opened. 'Like father, like son', Marth thought as he entered the room. "Sup Lowell." Roy greeted as he threw up the peace sign.
"Hey Roy. Listen, I have a date with Zelda today and I need someone to look after Spade-" Roy held up his hand. "Say no more Marthy boy. I am more than willing to take care of and protect Spade with my life and-" It was Marth's turn to interrupt. "Look, I know you use her to attract girls, so stop the protect-her-with-your-life stuff. You know that as long as she's fed and out of harm's way I don't care what you use her for." He passed Roy the leash.
"Gee, thanks! I'll take good care of her, buddy! Don't you worry!" Roy called after Marth as he dashed down the hall and down the stairs and out the front door.
Roy turned to the dog. "So, do you think the girls will buy the 'you're a sheltered dog and I found you and rescued you' story?" Spade responded with a nod. "Sweet! Hey Dad! I'll be out for a while!"
"Where is Marth?" Asked a young girl. She had long golden brown hair. She had her arms crossed over her chest. She waited by the door of her house. She checked her watch, which read '10:28 A.M'. "Two minutes. Lowell, you better be halfway here or else." She stared off into the distance and saw an approaching figure.
"Hey Zel!" The figure looked to be completely blue from this distance. "Marthyy? That better be you!" She shouted. "Don't worry, it is" He replied as he came close. She checked her watch, '10:30 A.M'.
"Saved by the bell, you got lucky Lowell" She said playfully punching his arm. "Well of course I'm lucky. I am dating you, aren't I? I have to be the luckiest man alive." He said as he wrapped his around her waist. "Corny Alert!" A young high-pitched voice cried out from the doorway.
"Young, Toon, what's up guys?" Marth said as he kneeled to ruffle the twins' hairs. "They have a point, you know. That was pretty corny." Zelda said, grinning.
"Well yes, I know that, but I was under pressure."
"Pressure?"
"Well, you were angry. I had to say something to calm you down." He admitted. "So are we going now?" A voice called out from the car that was parked in the driveway. "Hey Link." Marth greeted.
A/N: After popular demand, I have decided to cut this chapter in half.
FEK: She means after I procrastinated for a year.
SR: Basically. *Glares*
FEK: Well, in between your horrible grammar and my desktop collapsing on me when I was almost done correcting this the first time, I think that warrants a pardon.
SR: Sure it does. *Glares*
FEK: *sniffles* No one understands the trauma I endure. *Sniffles* Fine, next time you put up your horrible grammar as a chapter.
SR: Fine I will.
FEK: *turns to readers* No she won't Anyways, please review!
