The tiled floor shook violently beneath her as an explosion erupted somewhere in the distance. "Finally!" Her captor smirked and stood from his chair. "Looks like your boyfriend finally found one of my trip wires..You know what that means, right?" He kicked the chair out of his way and snarled down at her. "I really hate to do this to such a pretty girl, I really hope you wont be mad at me afterward."
"You're insane." Hinata snarled back at him and when he reached a clawed hand down to grasp the front of her shirt she slipped her hands from her bindings, something she had been working on for a while, and nailed him in the sternum with one gentle fist. He flew across the room as she wasted no time going to work on the chains connecting her ankles to the wall. Thankfully she landed a well enough blow to his body. Enough to slow him down long enough to use her chakra and cut the chains in half. She jumped to her feet and scrambled to the other room while he cursed and struggled to catch his breath. "Little witch..!" She grabbed a set of keys off the table and closed the door, effectively locking him inside.
She had hoped she would be able to stop and catch her breath, but that wasn't the case because as soon as he recovered from that heavy blow to the sternum he was pounding away at the door. Hinata gave a nervous laugh after noting the shaking of the weak hinges. She didn't have time to sit around and wait for Sasuke. Quickly, she grabbed what she could, including a convenient rain coat, and slid out the back door. Outside didn't look much better than inside, but she was prepared for the rain because she heard it beating off the ceiling. However, she wasn't prepared to be butted up against a wet, slick mountain side. If she had went out the front door maybe she would've had more time, but as it stood now she didn't even have time to stop and check for Sasuke's chakra before she heard the loud banging of the door breaking down, followed by her captors sick laughter.
Without anymore hesitation, she flung herself from the doorway and began the treacherous path up the wet mountain side.
Look, Sasuke!" Hinata could've sworn she heard Karin's voice, somewhere drowned out by the downpour. The familiar sound distracted her for just a split second and her foot slipped from a patch of loose rubble on her way up. Hinata grabbed with her hands to make up for the loss of traction with her feet, and hoisted herself high end to regain most of her previous traction.
The rain poured and she struggle to see where she was going, all she knew to do was jump and climb until she felt flat ground or the top of the mountain. She didn't have time to stop and wipe her eyes or brush the wet hair from her face with her filthy hands.
Hinata slipped again and she didn't have a choice but to dive into the closest man made cave she could find. She coughed and tugged at her shirt to wipe the water and dirt from her eyes. She didn't have time to get comfortable. Luckily, yet conveniently, she landed in a travelers cave to shield her from the rain just long enough for her to gather her bearings. It was odd to see such a clean cut cave in the side of the mountain, especially this high up, but Hinata quickly deduced it to a structure that had probably been made to suit ninja whom passed through here often.
"Come back princess, your friends are here to get you!" The deranged, rogue shinobi called over the roar of the downpour. Hinata could barely hear him, but she couldn't do anything to figure out how far away from her he was. She pushed her wet hair back out of her face and glanced around the cave contemplating her next move. Of all the people for her dad to hire..
This guy was literally insane and his abilities were even more frightening than his appearance. He had the eyes of a predator, he could hypnotize anyone dumb enough to stare him in the face, his senses were just as sharp as Kiba's, if not more so, and he could erase traces of chakra by absorbing the natural energy around him, which is why she thought Sasuke and the others would never even be able to come after her.
Hinata's only option was to activate her byakugan to locate him, but that came with it's own risks. He would know exactly where she was upon activation because of the spike in her chakra, and if he was close by she wouldn't have enough time to pull herself out of the cave she stupidly tucked herself into. Best case scenario, she would have a very short window to locate him and get the hell out of there.
She stood on shaking legs and edged closer to the cave's entrance as she prepared to activate her byakugan. She carefully slid her hand outside of the cave's mouth and gripped onto a small rock. She closed her eyes and reopened her byakugan with intent to be quick.
2 meters below the cave, hanging casually on the wall. That was full body length leap for him, so she wasted no time in lunging. Her petite hand gripped the rock harshly as its sandpaper like texture tore through her lifestyle acquired callouses. Her triceps tightened painfully as she maneuvered her body at such an awkward angle and flung herself above the cave's entrance.
He had a smirk on his face, he knew exactly where she was and he was only toying with her. He leaped forward, much like a dog would run, right on her heels. If she could just get over this damn mountain!
She saw her opening and took a chance. With both feet planted firmly on the mountain side, she shoved herself off and dove toward the roof of her imprisonment below them. It was a move he wasn't expecting, so he was a little surprised, but he didn't hesitate to follow her.
Hinata didn't have the chakra concentration to scale the wet mountain at the moment, so her only other option was take an ..alternative..route. With a thump she landed safely on the wooden roof and continued her trek across the building and down onto its porch. She stepped further back onto the porch and waited for him to follow.
"Hinata!" Karin's voice drew closer through the downpour and Hinata could barely make out a blurry figure heading her way.
Her captor swung down from the roof swiftly and did exactly what she was banking on. He used the roof beams to recklessly catapult himself in her direction, like a missile locked on a target. Hinata reached out, while she was sure he had no balance, and grabbed hold of his forearms. Instead of pushing him away she used the force of gravity and her own weight to her advantage by bending her knee and sending it into his gut. She could tell it hurt him, but she didn't get much of a reaction before he was clawing at her with sharp talons.
He sunk his claws into her arms while she kept a tight grip on his forearms. Hinata bit her lip to hold back any whimpers from the pain she was experiencing and nodded to him, "It was..really nice...to meet you. I'll have to...tell Kiba about it..sometime."
"Tch."
"In the meantime..you'd better hold onto something.." Hinata smirked and quickly moved her hands away from his body before crashing one of her palms onto his chest, "Eight Trigrams Mountain Crusher." Similar to Neji's own technique, the man who taught it to her, but yet with it's own originality added, courtesy of her own creative touch. Hinata sent him flying with a force that split the rain much like Moses parted the waters of the Red Sea. He broke countless trees until one of them was bulky enough to actually stop him.
Maybe she should call it the tree crusher instead..
"Holy shi-!" Suigetsu yelled as he narrowly missed being smacked by the Inuzuka on his way by. The group scrambled up on the porch, happy to finally be out of the rain. "Hinata-!" Sasuke started but was cut off when Karin leaped in front of him and threw her arms around Hinata's neck. "I was so worried! I missed you so much! I was all alone with this bunch of useless men..!"
Hinata sighed and patted her back, "I wasn't gone that long, I'm sure it wasn't that bad.."
"We should go before he wakes up." Jugo point out as the rain began to soften a bit. Suigetsu snorted, "If he gets up from that I honestly will quit my job and go home."
"Jugo's right, we have Hinata, let's go." Sasuke led the team down a narrow path between the mountains, "When we get through here, Suigetsu and Jugo will circle around and get our belongings from the hotel, then meet us on the dock. We'll catch a boat from there."
"Sure thing." Hinata walked the best she could while Karin slapped bandages around her arms and administered mobile first aid. "I'm so sick of this rain already.." Karin complained as she tied Hinata's bandages tight. Hinata nodded in agreement and covered her nose as she sneezed. "Oh no.."
