Chapter XII
Ike, Pit, Samus, and Link sat around a table. One lamp hung over their heads leaving the rest of the room in shadows.
"so Ike why don't you tell us what this little meeting is about?" asked Link
"it's about my apologies about the complete failure in last years mission," Ike said holding his head down.
"what are you talking about?" Samus asked in curiosity
"Ike here is a fellow police officer just like us," Pit said motioning to Ike
"is he telling the truth?" Link asked Ike raising an eyebrow
"yes and no" Ike said looking at everyone
"what do you mean 'yes AND no' Ike?" Link looked furrowing his brow
"I tried to keep my identity a secret from everyone until my recent failure in the museum a year ago," Ike said staring straight into Link's eyes
"what identity?" Samus asked curiosity in her voice
"I, Ike Arthur Grail have been working for the SPD ever since I was 12 years old" Ike looked down
"how can that be possible? You have to be at least 19 to join" Link said confused
"because no one knew my real age" Ike said,
"what do you mean?" Samus asked
"Ike is 'A' the detective we've been working with for some time now" Pit explained
"YOUR 'A'!" Link screamed in surprise
"how did you know Icarus?" Samus asked the young officer
"after I woke up from the surgery Ike was the first to visit me, so he told me everything" Pit explained
"I'm sorry if I kept anyone waiting," Ike said apologetically to Pit,
"don't worry other than Peach you were my only visitor" Pit said nonchalantly
"didn't any of your family come to visit you," Samus asked Pit
"no," Pit said cooly
"doesn't that piss you off, I mean I would be pissed if none of my siblings visited me after a life or death situation like that" Link said
"well seeing as I'm an orphan, I didn't expect much" Pit said calmly
"you're an orphan, you poor thing we had no idea" Samus said pulling Pit into a sisterly hug
"thanks Samus but I'm okay seriously" Pit said a little scared because Link was shooting him a death glare, black, blue, and purple flames emanating from Link's body, fiery eyes (pissed off Anime Style)
"how did it happen?" Samus asked to loosen her grip
"well, what is there to say … my parents died in a car crash cuz some jerk face was doing their hair while driving, so I lost my parents when I was only ten, then my uncle Daedalus took me in, but he got shot when some local gangs thought it would be smart to start a shootout, so I lost the last member of my family that I know about when I was like seventeen, so I decided to join the force to stop crime so other kids won't go through what I did … so yeah that basically my life story" Pit said coolly leaning in his chair without even flinching. His three friends stared wide-eyed mouth open in awe at how calm he was at stating his tragic life story.
"dude" was all Link could muster in his state of awe
Roy pulled the nunchuck to his ear and let go of the 'A' button
'10 points' the TV announced as Link's little brothers stared in awe
"you guys don't mind if I go get a snack right?" Roy asked the kids shrugged
Roy handed the remote to Toon and headed for the kitchen where he found Zelda making sandwiches, Roy walked up to the fridge and started looking through it.
"hey Zel you guys got any soda?" he asked his head still in the fridge
"yeah I think it's in the basement you want some go get it," she said not looking at him
"okay," he said not looking at her. He simply closed the refrigerator and took steps towards the basement. Once down the stairs Roy looked around and was greeted by the sight of a refrigerator. He opened the fridge and grinned with excitement as he saw the whole thing was filled with all types of soda like Coca Cola, Pepsi, 7up, Sprite, Sunkist, Exc.
Taking a random soda can and was about to walk up the stairs when a small shimmering light caught his eye. He looked and just noticed the closed door he walked up to it pulled out a cup from the counter and placed the open part of the cup to the door. Then debating whether to eavesdrop or not after a while he placed his ear to the bottom of the cup.
"wow Pit I had no idea your story is almost as bad as Marth's" Link said wiping a tear out of his eyes
"explain I have heard little sob stories and can't think of any sadder than that" Ike said raising an eyebrow
"according to Marth he was the only tree when his father in a drunken rage set his house on fire killing his mother and older sister … Marth still blames himself for it everyday … he was bullied for being an orphan for most of elementary and some of the middle school … then he got glasses and well he's still bullied today … he just stands there and takes it … the sad thing is he's a really nice kid he … just shakes it off and smiles" Link said trying not to cry
"wow that is kind of tear-jerking" Ike said wiping a tear from his eye
"Link, man up" Pit said punching him in the shoulder
"anyway back to the matter at hand" Ike said coughing "I didn't just come here to apologize and hear sob stories there is a purpose I came here" he said staring his tree companions (that shut them up … well shut Link up … he was the only one crying)
"I'm here to talk about the latest decrease in criminal activity, mostly the mysterious disappearance of a certain masked criminal" Ike said raising an eyebrow
"now that you mention it we haven't seen hair or tail of old Marusu" Link said scratching the back of his head
"yes and I think I know why" Ike said looking at the ceiling
"why is that?" Samus asked curiously
"well if my research is correct the name is Marusu means Mars just like a certain little blue-haired church boy," Ike said,
"wait you're not seriously blaming my sister's boyfriend are you?" Link said enraged "I know I'm not supposed to like him but … really he's not that bad … I know Marth personally and he doesn't seem like the type to hate anyone" he continued
"Link I'm not saying anything I'm merely stating facts," Ike said calmly
"shut up I know when people are playing the blame game" Link demanded to jump to his feet
"if Marth is so innocent and I'm just bull shiting here but if he really had no connection to Marusu then why did he know what Marusu wanted. If he is so innocent then how is it that when we invite a certain red-haired someone to our secret meeting and discuss our plans, Marusu was already one step ahead of us. If he was so clean then why is he never available or home on the weekends that Marusu appears. If he is so pure then how is it that he all of a sudden beat up his therapist, and got sent to the Mental house downtown"
"Marth's in a Mental Institution hospital?" Link said his voice faltering
"your little friend was sent there on claims that he has a voice in his head telling him to commit crimes and quote 'kill kill kill' face facts Link, Marth is Marusu" Ike said sternly
"no … it … can't be …" Link said falling to his knees "say it's not so … you ass take it back … take it back!" he whimpered slamming his fists on the ground
"deal with it Marth is Marusu and has lost his mind," Ike said looking down at Link
"Shut your trap you don't even know him!" Link screamed at Ike
"I don't need to the facts spell it out the question here is can you brain handle all this," Ike said looking disgusted at Link
"IKE WHAT THE HELL! MATTH IS NO CRIMINAL!" Roy at this point had heard enough and broke down the door charging at Ike pinning him to the wall
"how long have you been eavesdropping on our meeting" Ike asked keeping his poker face on not showing fear despite a boy just broke down a door and still had enough momentum to pin him to a wall
"that my business, not yours you ass I want you to tell me right in face" Roy was growling
"fine then, your friend Marth has been keeping the fact that he is Marusu Aku Kurayami a secret from you" Ike said looking Roy straight in the eyes
Roy then began cursing Ike out in some other language that Ike wasn't familiar with. Link's eyes widened as he pried Roy away from Ike.
"your highness calm down" Link uttered before he realized what he said,
"what did you just call him?" Pit asked confused
Roy continued to struggle screaming out swears in some other language until he broke out and tackled Ike to the ground.
"what are you saying?" Ike asked while trying to keep his distance
"I think it's the language of the Shadow Tribe," Pit said a little confused
Link eventually stopped Roy when Ike started screaming in pain which actually took a while. Pit thinking quickly grabbed a random item and bashed Roy over the back of the head. The Redhead lost consciousness when the acoustic guitar made contact with his skull.
"thanks," Ike said weakly
"um no problem?" Pit said a little confused on what just happened to try to piece together what just happened.
"will he be alright?" Link asked indicating the redhead on the floor
"what was all that about?" Ike said finally managing to stand again
"I'm not really sure but I think he was speaking in the tongue of the Shadow Tribe," Pit said confused "BTW did you just call him," Pit said turning his attention to the Link
"I … I don't know" Link said staring at Roy
"WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED HERE!?" Samus and Zelda said in unison as they entered the room, Zelda, holding a plate of sandwiches and Samus with a couple of sodas seeing as she had left to get a soda and she had missed everything.
"it's a long story," all three contiguous boys said simultaneously
SR: "Well there you go. Boring huh? I'm sorry if I offended anyone. I don't own any sodas mentioned in this chapter if I did it would probably be more exciting"

AN/ little Rosey, tell me how you would have offended anyone? anyways I feel characters were a little quick to jump the gun *cough* Roy *cough* Link *cough* I had a very overly dramatic imagination. oh well, this chapter was written sometime late 2012 although I'm sure this one was written early 2013.
