We may know and love each other,
Have the same emotions throbbing in our hearts,
But that does not mean we know each other.
The kindling flames we once burn was made to vanish;
But can we spark the ashes and be the same?
Or, have we grown apart throughout the years.
Could it be for the best?
Perhaps we should not be together right now and madly in love, it could be that faith may have a plan deeper than love for us.
I know we must fight together, bring back what is mine and soon to be yours', but there must be something deeper to this.
There has to be a reason someone wanted us to forget.
I wish to know but then I do not.
Knowing the danger that lies if I awaken the past could cause things to get worse,
Placing you in danger, deeper in danger than before.
I do not want you harmed…
I do not wish you harm…
I do not…
Wish you dead for the sake of my being…
My love.
The next morning I sat at the waterfalls pond, staring down at the pooling water rippling with the large flow. My reflection rippled slowly as I looked over to the waterfall. Slowly cherry-blossom petals floated into my view, bringing me to think about my father.
Deep down I knew, I missed him but the doubt of his compassion haunted my hope.
Touching my finger to the water with the dim white glow, the image of my father came to the water and I slowly leaned over the edge; closer to the water front as his grey eyes stared out to the kingdom.
The stern king looked out to the kingdom in front of him and his men.
Building made of fine stones and building materials, filled with several woman who walked around with their head held high and beautiful robs known for witch craft. Several laughed as they held the hand of their child, most girls but there were a few boys around.
Men worked in the stores with a firm woman by his side, such a side caused the king to scrunch his nose and glare at the woman. His old up-bringing taught him that the woman was not to have such power over the man, this sight gave him the chills. Never would he have let his wife have such power over him.
"I do not wish to remain here long", turning to Aizen. He locked eyes with the knight and then his nephew. "Such unbalance makes me sick. Find me that witch! Immediately!" demanding the men strictly he climbed back into the wagon to see Renji waiting for him.
The sight of the red-head sitting comfortably in the wagon caused him to raise a brow. "What on earth are you doing?" he growled slightly.
Renji looked at the silver-lined king and thought about his plans; how he's going to gut the stern man like a fish caught by the river, and how it'll feel to watch him die. A warming sensation covered his heart as he looked at the king. "I was wondering whether you would like to discuss the events leading up to finding the witch", he smiled causing the king to look over the knights riding into the village with their leader ahead. "I would believe it would be best if you had a few questions to ask her before jumping into things. Do you?"
Byakuya froze slightly and thought about his decision. "It seems logical", the king nodded before getting into the wagon and sitting next to the suitor. "I think it would be best if we approached with great concern and care—"
"Like a broken father", Renji tried but the king shook his head quickly.
"Nonsense! I would never be broken hearted for my daughters absence", Byakuya stayed strong as he looked at the man. "You shall be the broken lover, whom is in tears for the running of his long lost love".
'Tsk… this old-fart is out of mind. How much more acting can I take? First, meeting him and becoming the suitor; than the ball where that witch ran away…' he thought as he agreed with the royal pain. "Of course, that makes much more sense". 'Oh, how I cannot wait to kill you, you donkey'.
The wagon shook as they went further into the village, and the wheels went over rocks. Both men chatted about the questions and act they would play on the woman, but they didn't know of the person watching them. An eyes resting on one of the buttons of the interior.
Bright iris of violet watching the two, wide like the sun and dull as dust. The person they were searching for, was watching them through the water but she wasn't alone. Another person watched with a smirk on her lips as the spider sat in the corner of the wagon.
While the two chuckled loudly over their plans, the two women watched with a disgusted looked on their faces. One of worry and the other of wonder.
'Oh my dear, I wonder why you left your kingdom alone without warning…'the spider whispered.
The image of my father vanished from my eyes as I sat back on the edge, looking up to the fall colors. I didn't know whether I should working faster or, taking a step back to see my allies. I didn't want to end-up like my dad.
"Rukia…"I heard from behind me.
Turning to see the face of the blacksmith, when his arms wrapped around me and pulled me into his chest I knew there wasn't any need to see his face. Comfort settled into my heart marking the presence of the bright-haired knight.
"Is there something troubling you?" he whispered into my neck.
Slightly shocked by the questioned I swirled out of his arms and to the front. "So, there is something that is troubling you", he smiled with charm.
Bowing my head slightly I thought about my father and the trouble which awaited me. Then there was the thought of what's going to happen when we get into Soul Society: The king, living situation and then Ichigo's engagement. There were many troubles.
"My father", I started as I pulled some hair behind my ear. "He is in the kingdom of magic".
"What is his business there?"
"He is going to the mage of fortune to find my location", I found myself staring at the ground. It's hard to think that my father would try that hard to find me. Usually he would be patient and let the enemy come to him, he would never find an enemy. But then again, I'm the crown of his land and there is many things which could happen while I'm out of his presence.
Ichigo was silent as he looked down at my bowed head, with a hand he rubbed my hair and sighed. "I believe there are more things that are going to trouble us", I perked up for the news. "For instance, getting you into the kingdom. Once you are in the kingdom walls there is a magic barrier that hides you from witches. I am not sure whether the king will allow you—"
"W-Why would he not?" I shouted as I got to my feet.
"Rukia, most of the refuge royals have fallen to your kingdom", but what does that have to do with me? They don't know what I look like or who I am.
Furiously walking to the fire I growled as the ice covered my palms. "What does that have to do with me, Ichigo? They do not know my appearance nor who I am!" I shouted.
He chased after me quickly. "Do not act like a fool, princess!" he snapped.
I stopped and turned to him with a sharp eye. "Princess? Princess? Are you smoking herbs?" looking into his bright eyes I grew in anger. "Last night both: you and I, remembered whom you are; Prince".
"We still do not know whether that dream was reality or fable", he argued. "All my life I have been raised as a farmer blood, I thought becoming a blacksmith was out of line. Now, royalty? That is too far for even a mere idiot to believe. How can I be—"
Slightly enraged I stepped closure to the man nearly nose-to-nose, and looked into his eyes. "Tell me then, those 'dreams' they said we were destined to be together. Does that mean you do not believe in the feelings you harvest for me?"
I stepped away when there was a pause in the air, and no-words were exchanged. "I see, you doubt your love for m—"
"I do not!" he exclaimed before taking my hand and pulling me into him. I kept my head at bay, a single glance of his orbs would send me back into my hearting frenzy. The desire for his touch and the taste of his body, would flow through me, if I looked into his eyes.
I figured this out. Throughout this journey I have noticed the influence Ichigo has on me, and the way I act when in the mere glaze of his eyes. Just like crystal ball, he would drag me into a trance, making my mind weak.
A finger slipped under my chin causing me to look up into his eyes. His amber eyes burned bright like gold and the deep swirls of brown spiraled. "I love you, okay" he whispered softly.
Such words made my heart throb as he repeated those words, the words I wanted to hear. Pressing his forehead against mine slowly he held my face tightly to keep me in place. "I love you…"he mumbled "Thy Rukia, my beauty and secret bond into one soul. Hinder my heart with your ice and wonder. I may not believe I am a prince, but I do know that I love you—"as tear stormed down my cheeks I stretched up and captured his lips quickly pulling him into my words.
His lips move furiously against mine as he tightened his hold on my frame, pressing me close enough to be exposed. Such a sweet but salty taste drove common sense out of my thoughts, and made my body swirl with an internal heat that I have never felt before. We might have kissed before but this is different; it is filled with hunger and history.
I felt like my lips were being fought but, it was neutral and pleasurable, bringing my body to a melting point.
I thought the kiss couldn't get hotter but, I was proven wrong within a matter of seconds.
Gasping as my back was pressed against a large tree, and my body hoisted up into the mere air. My body burned as we kissed and lungs inflamed from the lock. I pleaded for air when his lips made it to my neck, and began to ravish my skin. I couldn't hold my composer and a soft mull left my throat making me blush brightly.
"I feel praised when you moan like that", he whispered against my skin.
He bit my flesh softly making me gasp loudly before my abilities kicked in to take away the burning heat of my flesh, I felt like I was on fire.
The cold air fought to subside the heat when he pressed his body between my legs, and forced me to wrap them around his waist as he ran his fingers over my side, lifting my shirt up to my breast revealing and freeing my stomach. Slowly he tickled up my skin causing goose-bumps to form on my flesh.
I felt his lips trail down my neck and to breast making me nervous. "Ichigo…" I whimpered to draw him back to my lips. He seemed to catch the hint and captured my lips roughly. Feeling his body morphing into mine, and pressure ran through my back while his hand snaked up my body; getting closure to my breasts.
When he went to reveal my breast to continue this pleasure.
Then there was a rustle in the trees' around us, I heard the sound of a blade singing through the air. We both heard and stopped our actions.
I took the hilt in my hand and placed it in Ichigo's. "You take this", I whispered into his neck as my frozen blade appeared on the hilt, and my abilities sparked. He nodded before kissing me one last time as the leaves moved frequently.
A woman and several people leaped out of the trees/bushes.
Instantly the woman attacked me, I blocked with a wall of ice. Her dark-brown eyes and short-black hair. She seemed so angry but I didn't understand why.
A blade formed in hand as she swirled quickly, to meet my blade. I pushed her back but she jumped back at me, and quickly moved against me. Feeling overwhelmed by her movements I moved back.
In the corner of my eyes I saw Ichigo fighting the men, and women quickly; kicking them to the side and making them lay on the ground in defeat. When I noticed one leaping down from a tree, I knew the cut she would make. It would kill him.
My free hand glowed brightly and snowflakes formed. The leader looked over to Ichigo and then to my head as I blew on the magic and the breeze whipped towards the girl, freezing her instantly.
"Annabelle…" she whispered as her friend shattered. I noticed the anger in her eyes grow as the ice glimmered in the light. "You monster!" she screamed before kicking me into the water of the waterfall.
My body sunk to the bottom quickly due to my powers. From the water I could see the leader moving away from the water as a thick layer began to form on the top.
I looked around the water and noticed the darkness of the bottom, I tried to remain calm and attempted to swim to the top but my feet were heavy from the cold, slowly turning me to solid ice. "Ichigo!" I screamed with the last bit of my air.
Watching as the bubbles ran to the last bit of uncovered surface I gasped for air, and felt my lungs squeeze. The water seemed to turn to ice as my body froze.
"No! Rukia!" I heard in the mist of falling into a deep sleep.
When I heard a splash from the surface I opened my eyes to see the bright orange hair. Blinking slowly I watched him get closer with a fearful look in his eyes. I've never seen such fear; it was nearly a black fear you see in demons.
As my eyes grew heavy with eyes, he grabbed me and his heat covered my skin causing the ice to break away. He swam quickly to the surface as I came to the last of my air.
Breaking the opening of the ice we gasped, and I coughed harshly. I leaned over the edge of ice and took deeper breathes; when a hand grabbed my hair and yanked me to the top.
Screaming in pain the woman pressed me against her legs and placed a blade to my neck, ready for the final cut.
I watched as the men pulled Ichigo would of the water quickly, and held him to watch me die. "No!" he screamed as he thrashed around. "Don't kill her!" he pleaded.
She tightened her hold and the blade started to cut my flesh. I held my breath as Ichigo pleaded repeatedly for her to stop. "TATSUKI! PLEASE! DON'T KILL HER!" he shrieked as she went to end me.
The woman stopped and looked at Ichigo with wide eyes. "Why should I not, Ichigo?!" she screamed as she tossed me to the ground roughly. My face touched the ice with a thud and I watched as she stood in front of me with her blade. "Why should I not kill this slut?"
"Watch your mouth p-peasant", I stuttered in a pant.
Tatsuki kicked me in the stomach causing me to slide on the ice and a sharp gasp to leave my lips. "You shut-up!" she yelled "Where did you find this whore? On the lone streets of Karakura? Perhaps she is a mere whoring witch whom you brought too far—"she pointed the tip to my chin, looking into my eyes with dull eyes.
"Do not speak ill of her!" he shouted.
She chuckled evilly as she grabbed me by the throat and looked into my eye with a gritting grin. "Do not tell me, you have fallen in love with such a woman", she growled as I fought for air.
"M-M-Maybe he has", I tried.
"I have", Ichigo answered.
She released me quickly and walked over to Ichigo in a hurry. "How dare you do such a thing!" she shouted as she grabbed his face into her hands. "How could you do something like this, when you are to marry?"
He looked into her eyes and then to me. "Tatsuki, I have finally found the maiden I have been looking for through the rain", he told her.
"What about Orihime? What is to happen to her? Huh?" she growled, the thundering sound of a slap ripped the air. "WHAT ABOUT HER?!" she yelled.
I couldn't watch this anymore.
Standing to my feet I ran at the woman and pushed her out of the way. Her men started to head towards me in a frantic act as I stood over their leader. I took her sword in hand and pointed down at the woman.
"It is quiet humorous, really!" I chuckled as I looked down at the scared woman. "You and so many people seem to think that, I am some weak little girl because I am a princess!" I watched as her eyes widened and looked over my form. "Do you know how many kingdom's I have brought down with a single movement?" leaning forwards noticing the fear. "Better yet! Most of your kingdom has fallen to my hand, you foolish peasant!" I laughed with the swords in the air.
"Y-Y-You are R-R-R—"all the stuttering had gotten on my nerves.
"Kuchiki Rukia" I answered. The sound of swords hitting the ice was heard near Ichigo. "How does it feel to be in the sights of a pure-blood royal?"
"You are nothing but a murderer!" she shouted.
"Yes, yes! I have killed more men than hell's gates", I admitted. "But please, my dear, save your breath for someone who gives a care".
"This still does not change a thing about Orihime and her marriage to Ichi—"
"She is doth' lucky, if not then I am nothing but a fool!" I interrupted. "To love someone is an honor, an honor which we never have the bread to give. I have been forced my whole life to give thy bread, but never the option to choose whom receives my breath. I have loved but been forced to forget. I was to wed this man long before this maiden you speak of, knew him. I understand the pain she may experience; how much it feels to weep for the one you love, and to feel the freedom of chains. I may be a royal, but I shall never allow you to decide whom receives thy bread nor my love, because Ichigo is the man I have given and received".
A bright fire sparked as I looked into her orbs, tears crystalized while I thought about someone taking him away. "You won't take….him away from me", shaking from emotions I held my breath. Everyone has been taken from me, and there was nothing I could do about it. My mother from death, father taken by the crown and family distant because of my father's wishes. "He is… the last person you will take….away from me…"
"Hey, hey" a soft voice broke from behind me. "I am not going anywhere", spun into his arms I dropped the sword and hugged the blacksmith. "Everything is going to be alright", he whispered.
Tatsuki watched as I crumbled to pieces in Ichigo's arms. She had never seen this before, such a bond or connection between two people. 'I guess he was right…. The rain has been fought and dried'.
We joined the group and continued up the path.
I learned that Tatsuki is one of Ichigo's closest friends from childhood, she joined the secret force of Soul Society years ago; and on occasion she would be situated in the woods around the kingdom. The king would order them out to dispose of the casted criminals. At the moment they were ordered out to watch the land since criminals have been more active lately; the king believed there was something coming and possibly a war of some sort.
Never have I really heard of Soul Society fighting other kingdoms, usually they had their Captains fight but never the whole army.
"Princess", flinching out of the thought I looked over to Tatsuki as we sat around a fire. The walls of Soul Society were a mere foot away, but we arrived too late. Once night falls the walls are closed and no one can get in or out, without a king's order. "Why did you run from your kingdom?"
The same images of Renji's thoughts came to my mind; the blood and violence of such a knight.
"I heard you were to wed a fair knight", a soldier commented.
"Yeah, I heard it would be the finest wedding".
"With designer dresses and beautiful music. It was to be the most wonderful wedding of the land", thinking about a wedding with Renji made me sick.
His hands on my body and lips on mine. My name: Abarai Rukia… made me murderous inside. I could never marry a man who thought about killing my family, the people who've raised me and taught me everything I know. I loved them more than myself; how could I marry someone who wants to take away my people?
"Apparently, you two were going to be a wondrous couple. Perfect: body, soul and chi—"
"Silence", I interrupted.
"But princess, it was to be beautiful and magica—"
"The only thing that is going to be magical or near beauty, will be when I rip his body to shreds with my bare hands; feel his scarlet blood drip down my palms and hear his last cries for help. Such a man will be wondrous to kill with a frozen blade—"
"That is the man you are to marry, though" Tatsuki spoke.
Clenching my fist I felt the burning sensation in my knuckles, the sound of flesh ripping in my ears and the laughing of a murderer. My soul may not be pure from death, but I have never plotted the murder of someone's entire family while sane.
I could hear them talking about the wedding waiting for me back at my kingdom, and each comment made my anger grow.
The crackling of the ground began to echo their conversation as the ice covered my arms to a sparkling glass. Eyes went to the tree behind me and noticed the large wooden wonder freezing quickly, leaves turning to crystal and bark like a dusted glass. The warmth of the fire grew cold as the tree fogged the air.
The blacksmith watched as my body covered in ice before he placed a hand on my shoulder. "Calm down", he told me.
His hand took away the ice and I looked at his touch before standing to walk away from the camp. I needed to leave and calm myself. I have to kill something.
Ichigo didn't bother to follow after me or stop my escape, he watched as I walked deep into the woods without a word.
The grass froze with a single touch my body, turning to crystal and breaking quickly.
The light of the burning firing behind me began to vanish, and the darkness of the woods swallowed me. I looked up to the trees' trying to see the stars but the branches were too thick.
Running through the wooded area, I kept looking to the stars, I wanted to see them. Those bright burning balls of fire and, the mesmerizing glow they held in the dark sky. Their sight made me feel like my mother was watching and smiling down at me from the heavens; I wanted to hear her voice in all this rage and tell me what I should be doing next.
During the frantic run I tripped over a root, and flew through the air like a bird. A groan echoed my lips as I rolled down the rocky hill side, through mud and leaves pricking my body.
When I made it to the bottom I slid onto the grass, hissing for the scraps and fresh bruises forming on my skin. A slight sting rang through my side as I sat up and rubbed my head; when I felt something in my long locks. Growling for the mud and sticks stuck in my raven locks, I looked at the ball of matted mess.
"This is just my day", I whispered with the thick mess.
I stared at the ball at the end of my hair and felt the anger rush through me once more. I'm tired of everything messing up, the headaches in my path and the troubles following behind me. I wish I would just catch a break.
"Just cut it", a solemn voice whispered in my ear.
My abilities formed a knife: tip blade of white, hilt of pure glass ice; shimmering in the moonlight of the sky. The edge seemed to sing as I brought the blade to my hair, holding the clumped bottom with a stern hand.
As I was about to start the cut, I thought about how mad my father would be; he wanted me to have long hair like a goddess.
Dropping the blade to the ground I looked over the land where a little pond sat, probably for strays to drink, it was not deep enough to even reach my waist.
Seeing as I'm dirty from the fall, I might as well wash off and attempted to get the filth out of my hair.
I began to strip down, letting the moonlight illuminate over my skin, causing the white to glow bright like the moon and shimmer from the tiny ice particles healing my body. The chill of the night tickled my skin as I walked into the tiny water-hole.
I shivered for the chilling water but soon got used to the temperature, and slowly started to wash my hair but nothing worked. The sticks were too tangled. But I continued to try and get the sticks out, until a hand grabbed my hair from behind me.
"I will try and get it", a blush struck my cheeks for the voice and I looked over to meet Tatsuki's eyes. "No need to get embarrassed", she chuckled as she untangled my hair.
"Of course I am, no one has seen me bare beside my maidens" I tucked my legs in closer to my body and looked away, too embarrassed to look at the woman.
"I think Ichigo might ha—"she tried.
"I doubt it", I interrupted. "During this journey he has taken care of me, but I do not recall him having me nude at any point".
I could hear her smirk as she pulled the stick from my locks. "It is Ichigo, the boy is oblivious".
"How so?"
"Well, he has always been known to be dull; like he is too shy or does not know when a woman is hitting on him", she laughed. "I am serious, he would not know if a girl was to throw her heart out to him, even if she resisted a whole novel".
I chuckled softly with her laughter and thought about the first time I met the blacksmith. He didn't seem to notice that I was nude, well, I thought he was just trying to play dumb for my own sake. I think it's more likely he just didn't notice.
"I do not think he is oblivious with me though", I told her.
She stopped suddenly. "How does he act with you when it comes to emotions?"
"Rather blunt and demanding, the first time we kissed it was neutrals. We both met half way, I believe. But then, when it comes to me being around danger he gets protective and dominate, like I am his. Then, with when it comes to telling each other our emotions, he is rather open—"
"Are you sure that is not Kaien?" I shook my head quickly before touching the water softly with a finger.
"I know it is Ichigo, there is just something about him that makes me know that, that is him for sure" I smiled gently. Thinking about the blacksmith gave me butterflies and a happy feeling, but then there was still worry for the things my father will do to him, if he finds out about us.
She went quiet as she worked on my hair, slowly humming while she worked the sticks out. "I think you bring out the Ichigo, we do not really know yet" she whispered.
That's because he has been forced into forgetting who he once was, and how he used to be. Everything about the Ichigo, I fall in love with has changed; he is both the new and old Ichigo I know now.
