After a moment, Uraraka realized that the two boys were still staring at her. She spoke:
"I'm alright. This hurts, but I've had worse."
"Seriously?" The muscular boy asked, clearly incredulous.
Uraraka pushed herself into a sitting position, being careful as to not jostle her wounded leg.
"Yeah." She answered "It should be alright... By the way, thanks for saving me. Can you tell me your names?"
"Names Katsuki Bakugou." The muscular boy said, still seeming annoyed "My Quirk is Hardening." He supplied without being asked.
"And I am Yuga Aoyama!" The other boy declared "My Quirk is Earphone Jack."
"I'm Ochako Uraraka. And what I have isn't a standard Quirk, but I suppose you could call it Rushing Power." She said.
"Not a standard Quirk? What the fuck does that mean?" Bakugou asks, confused.
Uraraka almost laughed at his unexpected cursing, but then she spoke solemnly:
"It happened not that long ago. Long story short, I was captured by a villain who used his Quirk to alter my body." The anger in her expression didn't need to be faked "I was rescued, and a few days later, I became able to do those things. In truth, I actually have the extra toe joint, and I grew up without a Quirk."
That was the cover she and All Might had invented together in order to explain Uraraka suddenly developing a Quirk. It had the advantage of being true and verifiable, and the story she told didn't even have a single lie (she didn't actually say that it were the body alterations that made her capable of doing so).
"That is unbelievable." Aoyama said, his reaction mirroring that of most of the people Uraraka had told that story to.
Further discussion is prevented by a sudden voice:
"Hello, kids! It looks like my help is needed here."
The three looked towards the voice, and saw that the speaker was a small old lady which was walking using a cane shaped like a syringe and had her hair tied up with a similar hairpin. Her outfit was reminiscent of a nurse's outfit and had a doctor's coat over it. She was also wearing a visor.
Uraraka immediately recognized her. It was Recovery Girl, the heroine who had treated her wounds from before.
"That's Recovery Girl." Aoyama said, showing that he also knew who she was.
The woman drew closer and started talking:
"Oh my, so your own beloved quirk did this to you... It almost looks as though, your body isn't used to it."
With that said, she bent down and kissed Uraraka's forehead, in the granniest kiss imaginable.
It took only a few moments for Uraraka's leg to recover. The sudden lack of pain was so shocking that she actually yelped from sheer whiplash.
Then Uraraka tested her leg and saw that it was completely fine. She stood up and bowed to Recovery Girl.
"Thank you." And then she bowed again "And thank you for helping me before too."
"If you really want to thank me, then you should take better care of yourself." She said, in a kind but severe tone of voice.
"I'll try." Uraraka said, because she was an honest girl.
"Anyone else injured?" Recovery Girl looked around as she asked.
At that point Uraraka felt an unpleasant, muggy sensation coming from the foot of her healed leg, as if she had submerged it in mud. Squatting, she took off her shoe and sock, discovering that the unpleasant sensation had been because blood and bits of skin Uraraka had shed accumulated inside.
She sighed. That would be a pain to clean up.

It didn't take long for the results of her examination to arrive, and she opened the letter right in front of her parents. She didn't expect to see a hologram of All Might appearing to explain her score, but she was already almost used to being surprised by him.
However, seeing the pride in the faces of her parents when she was confirmed to have passed... That was truly a special moment. Uraraka hadn't truly thought about how they might feel about the recent changes in her life, but making them proud became yet another reason for her to struggle for her goals.
And how much they were proud of her became clear when the first day of classes at Yuuei arrived, and Uraraka found herself being gifted with a brand new pair of (second hand) shoes.
"Mom... Dad..." Uraraka stammered, not being able to say anything else.
"Go there and show everyone what you have." Her father said.
She got over her indecision by simply foregoing speech and simply hugging them both.
And then Uraraka finally headed towards the place where she would dedicate herself to becoming the best hero she could be.

The first impression Uraraka got when she entered the classroom was noise. And the reason for that became clear quite quickly, as Aoyama and Bakugou were already there, and they were fighting again, or rather, Bakugou was speaking angrily (which was pretty much his normal tone of voice) and gesturing wildly, while Aoyama seemed to be simply treating that as a normal conversation.
There were two other students besides the two of them. One was a pretty red-haired girl with a strange belt who appeared to be giggling at the situation, while the other was a short boy with greenish black hair who was smiling indulgently, like a parent.
Uraraka approached the group, since she already knew two of them. She waved and said hello.
"Ah, Ochako-san. I see you have passed as well." Aoyama was the first to respond.
"Tch, another annoying person has appeared." Bakugou complained.
Uraraka frowned at that, and was about to respond, but the other boy spoke before she could.
"Ah, you must be the 'cool girl' Kacchan was talking about." He smiled and bowed at her "Please excuse him. He is bad at expressing himself."
"Kacchan...?" Uraraka wondered "So you know Bakugou?" She asked.
The boy ignored Bakugou's snarl of 'Who is bad at expressing themselves?!' and responded "Yes. Kacchan is my childhood friend. My name is Izuku Midoriya, and my quirk is Creation." He showed an open palm and closed it for a moment before opening it again to reveal a small die.
"That's cool." She said, feeling a little embarassed "You might already know, but I am Ochako Uraraka."
"Thank you. I was at a different test from Kacchan, so I couldn't see you destroying that robot, which is kind of a shame, but I should have plenty of chances to see you in action in the future." Izuku said.
"It's good that you passed your test even though I wasn't there." Bakugou made his presence known "I would be pissed if you had failed." He glared at Izuku, though without much heat.
"Well, of course I did." Izuku said, then put his hands together next to his face with a smile "What if I wasn't here, and you ended up being expelled for bad behavior? That would be terrible."
"Stop joking with me!" Bakugou snarled again.
Uraraka felt that the two really seemed like best friends. And at that moment, the red-haired girl spoke.
"Everyone is getting so friendly, I don't wanna be left out!" She raised her hand in an energetic gesture "I'm Tooru Hagakure, and my Quirk is Navel Laser!" She gestured to her belt.
"Ah, that sounds cool." Uraraka managed to speak, despite feeling embarrassed again. 'Is it just from meeting new people?' She wondered.
"Ah, it's you!" A new voice sounded suddenly, coming from the door "I can't believe we're in the same class!"
Uraraka turned and saw the speaker: He was a boy with pink skin and spiky red-hair, and he was just as muscular as Bakugou.
"Ah... Who are you?" Uraraka asked, since she was sure she would remember someone with that appearance.
"No, no!" He waved a hand in negative "I don't know you personally, but my cousin was one of the people you saved back then, and he described you enough for me to tell." He gave her a thumbs up "What you did was so... Manly!"
"Thanks?" Uraraka said. She wasn't sure how to react to being called manly, but the way he said it seemed like a compliment.
"Wait. Did you go heroing before? But that's against the rules!" Another new voice made itself known.
The owner of the voice was one of the students who had been sitting down, now standing up. He was a tall and well-built boy who wore glasses and had a serious expression, looking as if he had been born for the class president position. Uraraka crossed her arms in a protective gesture and defended herself.
"No. I was just... in a bad situation, so I helped a few other people when there was an opportunity..." She said "Nothing I did was against the law."
"Oh... That's fine, then." The boy with glasses seemed embarrassed at his mistake "Well, since I'm already here, I should introduce myself. My name is Tenya Iida, and my Quirk is Zero Gravity."
"I'm Eijirou Kirishima." The red-haired boy identified himself as well "My Quirk is Acid. And you should still be proud of what you did!" He declared "You saved so many people!"
Uraraka got embarrassed again "No, I just helped them. The one who saved them was All-Might."
However, saying that was a mistake. As soon as the words were out of her mouth, Izuku suddenly appeared next to her as if he had teleported.
"You met All-Might?!" He exclaimed, pretty much oozing enthusiasm.
"Ah... Yes?" She didn't know how to react to his sudden change in demeanor.
"Oh, looks like there is a fun story involved!" Hagakure said "I want to hear it!"
Kirishima seemed like he was about to go on a retelling of the event, causing Uraraka to panic internally. However, she was saved by the bell, or rather, a sharp voice that cut through every conversation.
"Everyone, quiet down." Was what it said.
Uraraka looked in the direction of the voice, to see what looked like a giant caterpillar crawling next to the teacher's desk.
A second look revealed that it was actually a person completely wrapped up in a sleeping bag. He stood up and took off the bag, revealing himself to be a man with long, unkempt black hair.
"I'm your homeroom teacher, Shota Aizawa. Pleased to meet you." He said.

Whatever Uraraka had expected for the first day of class, it wasn't Aizawa. Instead of introductions, explanations and all that other stuff that was usually done on the first day of classes, he told them to put on their training uniforms and head to a field, where they would compete with their scores in the standard gym tests, except with Quirks allowed.
Considering that her main use of One for All was based upon increasing her average athletic abilities, that type of test was a good opportunity for her to see how she stacked up against talented Quirk users. And it was also an opportunity to get a look at the rest of the class and see their Quirks in action.
Aoyama showed the versatility of his Earphone Jack, getting good records in throwing, long jump, dash, endurance running and grip strength, all by using his ears to help. And as for Bakugou, while it was difficult to see how much of it was part of his quirk, the boy definitely showed great athletic abilities, doing comparably to Uraraka's own scores in grip strength, upper body training and endurance running.
Izuku's Quirk proved itself to be greatly versatile as well, with him creating simple mechanisms on his feet (after taking off the shoes) to do the running and jumping events, and on his hands to do the throwing and grip events. While Hagakure's navel laser was a great form of propulsion that helped in more than half of the events, with the throwing performance being particularly impressive since she shot several lasers that bounced around before hitting the ball all at the same time. She even did a V sign and smiled cutely upon succeeding at it.
Kirishima's Quirk was capable of creating several types of acid from his skin, which didn't help very much in the tests, but he had clearly trained himself as well (which was shown by his body, which was even more muscular than she had thought), having scores similar to Bakugou's. While Iida's Zero Gravity was just what it sounded like, being able to remove gravity from things he touched. He got an unbeatable score of infinity on the ball throwing, and showed amazing speed and jumping ability by removing gravity from himself for moments at a time, truly an interesting use of the power.
And then there were the other students. A very tall boy with gray hair and a mask covering the lower half of his face whose name was Mezou Shouji. His Quirk, Dark Shadow, was some kind of entity of shadow attached to his body that he could manipulate to great effect, and it was powerful enough to help him get a score of over 1000 kilograms on the grip test. Yet he still wasn't the top scorer on that category, that one being Fumikage Tokoyami, a boy with the head of a crow. His Quirk was Sugar Rush, which gave him super-strength when he ate candy, which was strong enough to actually break the grip tester.
The number one in both the dash and endurance running was a black haired girl who had two horns growing from her head and whose eyes had wicked looking black sclerae. Her name was Mina Ashido and Quirk was Engine, which meant engines on her legs (which Uraraka thought were nice looking) and earned her a mark of 3.04 seconds on the dash.
The best one in the long jump was a blonde boy called Denki Kaminari. His Quirk was Frog-Form, which was exactly as it sounded like, but also gave him advantages in strength and running, getting good scores all around. Another notable was Tsuyu Asui, a cute girl with overly long black hair, which was tied into a ribbon on her back. Her Quirk was Dupli-Arms, allowing her to spawn extra body parts anywhere she wanted, usually arms. It looked a little freaky but she used it creatively, allowing her to get nice overall scores.
There was also the boy called Hanta Sero, who looked pretty average but whose Quirk, Explosion, was very flashy, since it was apparently the ability to sweat explosives and ignite them at will. And another tall and well-built guy, Rikidou Satou, who had a Tail that was his Quirk, and was very strong and mobile.
Another normal-looking guy was Mashirao Ojiro, whose Quirk were elbows that could produce a kind of tape, imaginatively named Tape. His physical abilities were well-trained, and Uraraka could see that he had experience in martial arts. There was also an invisible boy called Shouto Todoroki, whose Quirk was Transparency, which seemed to be straightforward. It didn't help in the tests, but Shouto's scores were still more than respectable.
Rounding out the class were two more girls. Kyouka Jirou, who had short dark hair and looked cool. Her Quirk was Half-Cold Half-Hot, allowing her to control both fire and ice. It was pretty powerful, and her physical abilities weren't weak either. The other one was Momo Yaoyorozu, a beautiful girl who was both tall and mature-looking. Her Quirk was Electrification, the ability to generate and manipulate electricity, but most important was how skilled she was with it, being able to do such things as shooting out the throwing ball by creating a pseudo rail gun, and accelerate herself through similar means. In fact, she was versatile and powerful enough to earn the first place overall in the rankings (Uraraka ended up in seventh place).
Still, the most notable part of the day for Uraraka was when she caught herself admiring Yaoyorozu's form. And that was the trigger for her to finally understand that the strange feelings she had been getting upon looking at some of her new colleagues (most notably Kirishima, Hagakure and Izuku), she was actually attracted to them.
Upon realizing this, she got so red that Kaminari (who was standing next to her at the time), actually asked if she was okay. Thankfully, Uraraka managed to recover her concentration by focusing completely on the tests.
Still, she needed to talk to someone about that.

A.N: Uraraka has finally met an enemy she can't kick: Puberty.
And here we go, we have all the alternate quirks.
Izuku and Bakugou's relationship is pretty different from canon, due to the changes. Same goes for Todoroki's past, as you'll realize as the story goes on, but don't worrry, Endeavour is still an asshole.
Like I said, except for Uraraka and Momo, the quirks of Class 1-A were decided randomly. Yet, some of them ended up being very fitting.
