Author's Note: Wow, I can't believe it's been almost a year since I updates this. There are a lot of reasons why I haven't been updating, but the biggest one is I started and finished my first year of college and that took up a lot of my time. I also had major writer's block so I had to take some time away from writing my main stories. However I have finally been able to get back into writing which also led me to getting this chapter plus the next one already written so hopefully I am able to get back into the game. I hope you enjoy this chapter of mostly fluff.

Rick's POV

As I hold twelve o'clock on the steering wheel win my left hand, I draw circles on the back of Kate's hand. A couple of times my eyes are drawn off the road towards my wife. If not for the giggles from the backseat I probably could have kept my eyes on her for even longer. Even after almost 5 years she still captures my attention even without knowing she's doing it, just like when we first met.

Sooner than I thought our exit appears and I know we have about a ten minute drive left. Ellie is asleep in the backseat since it is right around the time she normally takes a nap. Kate turns in her seat to look at our daughter. "She looks so peaceful," Kate says softly, the smile on her face can be heard in her voice.

"Yeah she does." I can see Ellie's reflection in the rearview mirror and I love the soft smile Ellie has while she sleeps. Watching her sleep reminds me of Alexis as a child and makes me so grateful that I have another beautiful child. But I'm glad I have someone like Kate to share this experience with this time. As I pull into the drive was I ask Kate, "Should we wake her?"

"No, she needs her nap. We can just move her to her room to sleep and we can fix some lunch while she naps," Kate says while we get out of the car. I pull Ellie out of her car seat and start to walk up towards the front door. Kate softly pulls the keys from my hand so she can open the door for me. "If you can take her to her room, I'll bring in the bags." I nod before starting up the stairs towards the room Ellie always stays in when we return here; the one just close enough to our room that Ellie never feels too far away. The soft green of the room welcomes us back as I tuck Ellie into the bumble bee printed sheets that Ellie loves. After putting Ellie's blanket with her, I softly place a kiss on her forehead before walking out the door once more. The white painted wood door shits silently behind me. As I walk down the main stairs I see our bags by the closed front door so I decided to make my way towards the kitchen due to the suspicion I had that Kate would be there. From down the hall I could hear John Coltrane's "Say It" playing over the kitchen's speakers, confirming my suspicion. As I stand in the door way I watch Kate sway to the music as she works on pulling the ingredients from the fridge to make sandwiches. Her skirt sways half a moment behind her, the purple material trying to keep close to her as she moves with the notes of the saxophone that are floating through the air. I walk up slowly behind her as she sets the jar of mayonnaise she was holding on the counter and when she turns around to face me I pull her into my arms.

"Dance with me," I whisper to her as "I'm Old Fashioned" shuffles to play. Kate's arms move to wrap around my neck as she lays her head on my chest, since she had kicked off the heels she had worn on the drive and was at her natural height. We sway with the music and I smile down at Kate as she lifts her head enough to meet my eyes.

"I'm glad we came here." Kate says as a smile graces her face. "Us being here makes me think of all the memories that we've mad here."

"Like last summer?" I ask thinking back to the month we spent here.

"Yeah, but more specifically the days Alexis, Ellie, you and I spent at the beach."

"Ellie was so fascinated with the waves," I remember.

"And with the fish I don't even know how many times she tried to grab one." Kat's giggle softly fills the room as I think of our curly headed daughter trying to grab a fish out of the water to no avail.

"She'll probably try again the next time we go swimming."

"I wouldn't be surprised."

"Me neither. When she sets her mind to something, she's going to try again and again. She gets that determination from her mother." Kate smiles at me.

"But she gets her silliness from you. That's why she wants to catch a fish so badly."

"I think the word you were looking for was actually fun personality, not silliness Kate," I say winking at her.

"If that makes you feel better than we can call it that Rick," She says with a laugh.

"Makes me feel much better. I give her a playful kiss and I can feel the smile in her kiss.
