Chapter 24: Reunion
"No… it can't be…"
It felt as though their blood had run cold, eyes staring wide and transfixed as the others stared at the three teenagers. Akane had imagined meeting her brothers again in thousands of different ways; however, this had never been one of those notions that crossed her. Seeing Yuuichiro and Mikaela's expressions horrorstricken, and on what seemed to be on the verge of emotional collapse made Akane feel ill as she held her hand to the wound in her abdomen while her two brothers, whom she hadn't seen in four years, appeared as though they hadn't a clue as to what to think. The girl took in a few deep breaths, staggering to her feet, to take a few steps before she collapsed to her knees gasping for breaths as looked to her brothers whilst Ferid watched the interaction, smiling like the devil behind her as Guren held onto his wounds whilst he got to his feet.
"Your… Akane… right? That is, you! Isn't? Akane?!" Yuu asked, his voice trembling as tears welled in his eyes.
"It is… it's me… Yuu…" tears fell quickly, and the black-haired boy didn't even attempt to stop them.
"Akane, I'm… I'm sorry! I – "the boy pulled free from Mika's grasp, and quickly wrapped his arms around the girl, startling her as her breath caught in her throat. After all of the trials, after four years and fearful struggles, she finally was able to be with her brothers again. Akane put her arms around him, holding onto him tightly as she cried, relief flooding her as she held onto him, Mika coming to settle beside them as Yuu leaned back, looking at her as he put his gloved hands on her face, brushing her bangs from her face.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have left you there that day, I'm sorry," Yuuichiro said as he cried, pulling her closer again as she returned his embrace once more.
"Awh! How cute! The three siblings finally reunited upon the battlefield. But dear Akane, what will you do? You're a Vampire and they're members of the Moon Demon Company, whatever will you do?" Ferid inquired as the others looked to him, Akane narrowing her eyes as Yuuichiro grabbed his sword and Mika did the same.
"I knew it… your still alive you, arrogant fuck!" emerald eyes narrowed as Ferid looked him over.
"My, my Yuuichiro how you've grown. What a handsome young man you've become, and is that Mikaela? Haha! What a coincidence! How have you been these last four years, my little pets?" the two brothers tensed, Akane grinding her teeth together.
"I've had enough! Do you know what I'm going to do? Ferid Bathory?!" she snapped as her she stood to her feet, the others staring at her as Yuu and Mika got to their feet as the girl's hand shook upon the grip of her sword.
"Hmm? What is that? Princess?" Guren shuffled to the sides of the children, his teammates standing to the sides of the others.
"Tell the truth! My name is Hyakuya Akane, I'm a captive of the Vampires that turned me for their own benefits, and with me right now, I have information that will turn the tides of this God Forsaken war!" she stated sharply as Ferid's eyes widened.
"You'd betray us? after all the things Queen Krul and I have done for you?" Akane glanced to Guren as Yuuichiro moved towards him, helping him stay standing as he focused his energy to begin healing the man's wounds.
"Did for me?! I never wanted to be a Vampire! Everything you've done was to get your hands on one thing!" she stated harshly as Ferid narrowed his eyes.
"Little girl, you better stop while your ahead…" Akane took in a deep breath.
"You've always wanted to get your grubby hands on the Seraph of the End!"
The words rang out amongst the others, causing confusion and slight fear in the eyes of several of the people who stood around the three teenagers whilst Ferid looked her over, and smirked, eyes narrowing in a knowing manner while Akane stood defiantly, Guren feeling his wounds healing up under Yuu's Naturopathic gift while the silver-haired Noble smiled broadly as the others started to move closer to the three siblings, Guren stepping forward as Akane looked back to see the faint glow that came from Yuuichiro's hands, alerting her to what was happening while the group readied their weapons.
"Hmm, oh my dear sweet Akane, you should have done what I said, and not blurted out such important information. Now, I wonder what you'll do, as a Vampire you're going to be considered a traitor, and the humans will never accept you. So, what shall you do, Princess?" he asked as Yuu and Mika stepped in front of the girl, raising their weapons as their comrades followed the motion, forming around them alongside Guren's squad and the man himself.
"What will she do? She'll stay right here! Akane is our sister, she has us, regardless of what she is," Yuuichiro stated as Mika nodded.
"Oh? So, you two will betray your comrades for her sake?" Shinoa looked to the Noble.
"They aren't betraying anyone," she informed him as Guren held his sword up.
"What they're saying is true, she belongs to the Moon Demon Company now." Ferid laughed.
"You humans are very entertaining. So, for what reason have you decided to take her? Because she's a traitor to us? Because she's dear Yuuichiro and Mikaela's sister? Or because she'll be a useful experiment?" Guren smirked.
"Because she's someone important to people I care for, that's reason enough," he informed the Noble as Akane raised her sword, prepared to fight alongside the others.
Ferid smiled in a demonic manner while he eyed the group of humans. Upon knowing that he would be in charge of Shinjuku, he had designed several plans that were being executed even at this point. Akane being a traitor, and supposedly having information that could be detrimental to the Vampires success in this battle, and the war overall, had not been a part of his prior strategies, but he could make it work. However, when it came to Yuuichiro and Mikaela, some very interesting and fun things could happen given if their special secrets were revealed.
For the time being, he knew that the chances of him getting his hands on Akane, let alone Yuuichiro and Mikaela, would be fairly impossible, but causing some chaos and thinning the ranks of the Moon Demon Company was an option. Dark red eyes looked the group over as the black-haired and blonde-haired boys stood in front of their sister, and laughter started to bubble up as he considered what he had seen earlier with Yuuichiro healing Guren and saw the look of confusion come over them.
"My Akane, I understand it now. You've been such a naughty little girl, searching through our archives in hopes of finding a cure for Vampires who have resisted the urge to drink human blood. How tragically sweet that the human whom you've been seeking to remove this plight from you, is also your brother!" the information was a terrifying blend of shocking, and disbelieving of what he had just stated.
"Back the hell off Ferid!" he laughed as he looked at the blonde-haired boy.
"Mika, my dear, sweet Mika! Look at you! You've gone and become quite the catch. Of course, you were an adorable child… much like dear little Yuuichiro. I still remember how sweet your blood was, and how I tore a hole through that fragile little body of yours, and I believe I severed that arm of yours too after that sordid attempt to escape," he said.
"We still got away." Ferid nodded at Mika's statement.
"Hmm, true you did; however, what was the price for that freedom you so desperately wanted? The death of your loved ones… of your entire family. The truth is, you saved your own skins… and you wouldn't even be standing here if a certain someone didn't put a bullet through my skull… isn't that correct? My dear Yuuichiro?" he probed as the others bristled while the Noble prodded at the two boys.
"They didn't sacrifice us for their own sakes! Don't try and twist it you piece of shit!" Ferid smirked.
"Akane, you need to learn when to keep that pretty mouth of yours shut. I must say though, Yuuichiro, those beautiful eyes of yours are still as sharp as ever, untainted and clear, like pure, and expertly polished emeralds. They remind me of your wild soul, like a feral wolf… isn't that how you were? Especially after that event happened only two months before you tried to escape… you turned into such a feral, cold creature… its pleasing to see that fire still burns," he said as the black-haired boy ground his teeth together.
"Why don't you come down here and talk instead of preaching on your soap box?!" Ferid smirked.
"Believe me, little black angel, you don't want me to come off my soap box and down to where little peons like yourselves are," he stated.
"So, tell me, Ferid Bathory right? You're the one who made the deal with Yuu and Mika four years ago, correct?" Guren's question had Ferid moderately entertained.
"Indeed, that was I." the group started bunching together, knowing that either Guren or Ferid would take advantage of the distraction.
"Then what I want to know is why are you so interested in Yuuichiro and Mikaela now? I highly doubt its for Akane's sake, seeing as your so quick to throw her to the wolves," he mentioned as Ferid laughed, folding his arms over his chest.
"Ah, you see, that is where you're mistaken. I'm not the one whose interested in the boys, it's my Queen, Krul Tepes."
"Yuuichiro! You better keep yourself on guard, he's going to do something," Asuramaru warned him and the black-haired boy mentally nodded.
"Got it."
"The Queen of the Vampires? What would they want with Yuu and Mika?" Ferid laughed.
"Humorous, you don't seem to know what's in your midst. Very well, perhaps you've heard of an old legend, that two fallen angels would grace the world as it collapsed and help bring it out of the darkness, one bearing wings as black as night and the other as pure as light. They were hand-picked to defend humanity while the other two, ones of silken midnight sky and twilight were selected to cast them unto the shadows forever. Two of those fallen angels are within the Moon Demon Company, and my precious Queen Krul desires them because of their power, the influence they will have upon the deciding victor of this war, and much more… but, I suspect humans can't really sniff them out, can they? Even when they're so close it's impossible to ignore," he mentioned as Guren kept his gaze level with the Noble's.
"Funny, because I remember it being your idea to use those with unnatural gifts and bloodlines to try and reproduce the gene of the Seraph of the End." A fine eyebrow raised at Akane's words.
"Well then, seeing as you're so willing to talk, I'll tear that from your traitorous mouth!"
"MOVE NOW!"
Ferid lunged forward to snatch the brunette girl, but was quickly stopped by a green hued blade as he looked into sharp emerald eyes. In an instant, the Vampire was tossed back as Yuu posed his sword for another attack, the others readying their weapons as Akane followed suit while the silver-haired Vampire rose from the ground and dusted himself off, observing the boy before him. Without question, Ferid knew this would be an interesting fight, as the black-haired boy before him had always had a callous and brutal approach to his mannerisms in fighting, but now it had been refined into a sleek, and precise method that made him far more lethal than he would have been four years ago. As Ferid had stated earlier, Yuuichiro always reminded him of a wolf, and even now, it stuck as he circled him in a slow motion, his sharp gaze never leaving him while they waited for one another to take the first move, the other Vampires having moved in as the fighting around them began.
"Hmm? Are you going to fight me? Yuuichiro? We all know that you're a simple human being, so how can you possibly hope to win against a creature that is far more superior to your kind?" Ferid asked as Yuuichiro smirked.
"I'm stronger than I was four years ago when you beat me half to death amongst other things…" the silver-haired Noble smiled.
"True, I can sense you've become stronger, but as I stated earlier, how can a single human fight a Noble? Even with yoru Cursed Gear?" a wicked smirk laced the boy's features.
"My Cursed Gear isn't my sole means of combat…" Ferid watched as the boy's emerald eyes lit up an acidic green tone as the marks of his demon appeared upon his face and a smile formed from the smirk, devious and wild as normal canines lengthened into sharpened fangs, causing the silver-haired Noble's eyes to grow wide.
"What in the – "Ferid was cut off as the boy darted to him, knocking him back several inches as he held up against the sheer force of the boy's assault.
"Since we're out here in the wide open… I don't have to restrain myself. I can unhinge my restraints, and make you suffer for everything that you've done!" Ferid smiled.
"Then show me, little lamb. I'm sure you – "the Noble was pushed back and the boy vanished without a trace, admittedly confusing him.
However, his confusion wasn't allowed to last as Ferid nearly didn't block the attack when the boy reappeared, striking him hard as he stared into the boy's luminous eyes, a knowing, and vicious smirk upon his lips as he kicked him, sending the silver-haired Noble flying through the turned-up rubble while several stared, stunned at the scene as Yuuichiro crouched, taking in a few deep breaths, eyes wide and almost wild looking as he slowly got to his feet, straightening his back as he placed himself into a fighting stance, preparing for the next attack. Akane stared at the scene, extremely confused by what she was seeing as she considered how different Yuuichiro's energy felt at that point. When he'd embraced her, his aura had a calming, cool feel to it, but now, it was roaring and hot like an open flame, bearing an almost suffocating pressure, leaving it to be nothing akin to what she was used to feeling with him.
Guren watched the boy as he took in a few steady breaths, the wind picking up to blow his hair back just enough to show a faint point to his ears, and a very tiny, thin ring of crimson around his slitted pupils as Ferid showed up again, and Yuuichiro matched him, knocking him back as Akane's breath caught in her throat while she tried to keep track of her brother, but also combat the Vampires who were fighting her. It was as this was happening, that Mitsuba glanced around and noticed that Mika was missing, leaving her to question what was happening as she and the others heard Ferid laugh while he stood, hair a bit mused and clothes dirtied.
"Well, that is most interesting, I don't believe I've ever encountered something like that before," he admitted as he dusted himself off while Yuuichiro growled, the noise sounding inhuman as he opened his mouth just a fraction to display sharpened teeth.
"Are you done talking? You, arrogant bastard?" the silver-haired vampire hummed as he looked at the boy's appearance.
"I see now. I thought that was what I saw when you attacked me… it would seem that you're not fully human anymore, are you? I would even suspect that your more akin to my kind… even from this distance, I must admit, you look more Vampire than human. Even your scent has an undertone of ours. How did you manage that?" Yuu swung, and the Vampire felt a few strands of his hair fall as the blade narrowing missed his head.
"Far to close… he moves incredibly fast for a human."
"Why do you want to know? Does it scare you that a human is keeping up with the likes of you, old world rats?" Guren stared at them in slight concern as Ferid looked the boy over with a smirk.
"I just wanted to make sure I was right. You are a Psychometric user, correct? I must say, if that's the case, you're impressive. I thought someone took a little something from my soul when you shot me. However, I have to know… what do you think your price is for using this sin?" the black-haired boy stood straight and held his weapon aloft, preparing for another attack.
"Personally, I could care less. If it lets me kill you fangs, then I will gladly put my humanity on the line. Besides…" Ferid rose an eyebrow.
"Besides what?" Yuuichiro tilted his head, a cold smirk curling his lips.
"I won't bare this sin alone."
Ferid had no time to react as a gloved hand gripped the top of his head, and a sword pierced his abdomen with an icy feel as he was jerked backwards from behind. His red eyes went wide as he heard the black-haired boy speak, mirth slightly tracing his voice as Ferid was slammed into the ground, and the person rushed away, coming to stand next to Yuuichiro as he slowly forced himself into a sitting position and looked up. standing next to the black-haired boy was Mikaela, looking a bit winded, but otherwise fine. His hair was tousled from the sudden rush of movement, the frost like patterns of his demon on his cheek, eyes glowing a sharp luminous ice blue, pupils slitted while his canines were elongated into fangs.
"You alright, Mika?" the other nodded.
"Perfectly fine. Just a little shock to my system is all, which was probably the transfer. So, care to help me a bit?" emerald eyes glanced to the others.
"We need to get the silver-haired bastard to back off, so we can get Akane out of here. Now long can you last?" Mika looked to his brother and then to the others.
"Sixteen minutes roughly," he stated as the other nodded.
"Then we have to rely on the demons. Think we can do this?" Mika posed his sword.
"Sure, why not? Sounds like fun," he answered.
Without question, Ferid knew he was in massive trouble. Even if Crowley were to show up, he would be in high waters as both the boys weren't merely copying off of him and using the abilities of a Vampire, but had adapted it to their bodies slowly, and would create a great deal of issues if he fought them, and that didn't even include the Cursed Gear. However, certain plans of his own were in motion, and leaving the two boys to escape would not benefit them a single bit.
"It would seem no matter how I roll the dice, I may still end up with more trouble than I alone can handle. Not to mention the other members of the Moon Demon Company, and Akane are here to back them up… still, I could –"
Leaving not a second for him to prepare, the boys attacked him while the others took down the other Vampires that had come their way. Guren made quick work of a mass of them while the others were easily dealt with by Shinoa and her group. Akane did her part well, attacking those who dared to attempt harm upon the Moon Demon Company members, often resulting in surprise as the Vampires hadn't expected her to turn traitor, but it made no difference, she had chosen her side, and now she would stick with it. As she fought, her gaze glanced to Yuu and Mika who were doing their best to hold their own against Ferid.
Quite honestly, Akane hadn't known that they were Psychometric users, and her mind hadn't been prepared to see them both favoring Vampires more than humans. She took a deep breath, and stepped back with the others, Shinoa smiling to her as she felt her tense body ease in knowing that the others would help her fight. However, as she stayed near the periwinkle-haired girl, she realized that Yuuichiro's scent was on her, revealing a closer connection to the girl than what Akane would have thought prior. A small, sad smile came to her features as she sighed, knowing that she should have figured he would find someone, despite his standoffish attitude, Yuuichiro was to kind not to be loved by someone.
The girl looked to her brothers in anxiety, and not a moment later a blade nearly caught her, knicking her shoulder and she was pulled back by her cloak via the hand of the pink-haired teenager as greenish teal arrows went flying from nowhere and struck four of the Vampires in a single go, destroying them as the group took cover while rubble was thrown around in randomized areas as the pink-haired teen looked her over before huffing as he hoisted her up from the ground a moment later and the group fell back as Guren's group took the main force while Yuu and Mika kept working on weakening Ferid.
"How long do they have left?" asked Kimizuki as the others prepared to stave off any attacks.
"Ten minutes by my count. I hope they can get away when the timer runs out." Akane looked to the others as they formed closely by her.
"Why are…" all eyes turned to her.
"Are you okay?" the girl looked to them.
"Why are all of you protecting me?" she questioned as they looked her over.
"Because, Yuu and Mika care for you, and you're part of their family. We're their family too, and here in the Moon Demon Company, we protect our own. You're no acception." Tears burned her eyes, disbelieving that these people were so willing to trust her.
"Thank you…" Kimizuki looked to her.
"Yea well… personally, I don't want to face either of your brothers if they get pissed because we let you get captured. We'll deal with what you are later, so for now, you're ours to protect."
It was as the group of teenagers fought the extra Vampires around the area that Yuuichiro felt a painful shock coarse through his body, signaling to him that he needed to stop as he clutched at his head and Mika quickly covered him, the two moving away as Yuuichiro felt a violent cough force itself from his body as Guren came to stand near them while Yuu went to his knees, gasping for air as Akane came to their side. It was as Guren saw the aftershock of Yuu using his Psychometric gift for the length he had that he began to consider how he was going to keep these children safe. If the two of them that could even moderately manage to hold their own against a Noble were out of commission, what were they to do? And he knew there were two or more other Nobles somewhere in the vicinity, so what did they leave them with? As Guren looked to his two boys, the silver-haired Noble smiled.
"Oh dear, it would seem the two little lambs are out of time. Which is quite joyful news for us!" with those words alone, Guren chose the only move left to him at the time.
"Shinoa!" he called.
"Yes sir?" he took in a deep breath.
"I want your team and Akane to go! Retreat from the warzone and hide! Yuu? Mika? Your top priority is to keep Akane safe, as for the rest of you, I want those two boys guarded," he ordered.
"Right…"
Without a second thought, the group began to move, running as the rest of the Vampires closed in, and the group was soon back to back with Guren and the other members of his unit. The Lieutenant Colonel looked around, and at the two boys trying to assess the situation around them. He glanced to Yuuichiro who at current was doing his best to focus Asuramaru's energy outwards, but could only do so much. He gritted his teeth before looking at the Vampires that had swarmed them while he was beginning to feel fatigue seep into his body, his wounds having only been able to be partially healed, causing him to glance to Akane when he felt faint jolts of pain instead of focusing on their situation.
However, as he saw it, they would be killed, the three siblings taken away and only God knew what would be done to them. Guren huffed, looking to see that they were effective surrounded, making it impossible for the children to flee without being captured or wounded gravely. Burgundy eyes looked to the weapons raised by his team and Shinoa's as well as the Vampires and realized only one other choice was left to them now, and it had to be right this minute, or it would be curtains for Shinjuku, and effectively, humanity as well.
"Take a pill!" he ordered, self-loathing soaking into his soul as he took in a deep breath and took his own pill while the others followed suit, stuffing the containers back into their pockets before waiting on Guren's next order.
"The time has come, I shall aid you, Guren…
"Very well…"
"ATTACK!"
The entire group of Moon Demon Company members fanned out, assaulting the forces that surrounded them in a flourish of their weapons. Yuu and Mika teamed up with Akane to keep an eye on her whilst the others split off into groups of two and went after the other Vampires while Guren locked himself into a fight with Ferid while the marks of the demons spread across the faces of several of the teenagers who went into battle. Akane kept up with her brothers, fighting alongside them well enough until a Vampire caught her in the side and a scream of pain left her, causing Mika to turn in time to catch her as Yuu sent a terrifying attack against the Vampire who'd wounded her, the poison on the lower-class blades sinking into her system as fear coiled within her.
Yuuichiro came back to her side, taking no time to place his hands upon the wounded area as a pale, opaque green light appeared, spreading throughout his body, and capturing several people's attention whether they were Moon Demon Company or not as he healed up the wound and Mika took to defending the two as Yuuichiro finished up with healing her injury. Brown eyes only stared at him as the pale light faded, the pain receding with it as the wound closed up, leaving a tiny, thin scar in its wake as warmth spread through her like a soft, thick blanket during a cold winter's night. It was as her attention came to this, that she looked to her brother, who was bracing himself upon his hands and knees, breathing roughly as she reached to him and his body trembled, resulting in her touching his shoulder, only to recoil when he coughed up a bit of blood, and wiped it across the back of his white gloved hand, which was now effectively blotched in deep reds.
Akane admittedly panicked when he'd coughed up blood; however, he had merely shook his head as he struggled to his feet and she followed, his body protesting the movement as he wiped his mouth clean of any excess blood and looked to her and then to Mika who had returned to their side. Their situation could honestly, have looked much better for them right then. They were outnumbered, and quickly tiring against the nearly ceaseless energy of the Vampires, and even with the boost from the pills they weren't making much more progress against their enemies. Akane looked to Yuu and Mika, the marks of their demons still on their faces as they glanced to one another as if to be sure that each other was prepared for the next strike.
"Ready?" Yuu nodded to his brother.
"Yuuichiro? What are –" Mika looked to her.
"Akane, you may want to ground yourself with your sword," he answered as she looked to him in confusion before digging her blade into the ground.
"Okay, but why do you want me to –"
She was effectively cut off when a torrent of bright electric green fire and black wind flew through the area in a sweep, electric blue and silver ash followed it swiftly as the two boys called forth their demons, and a howling rush of the energy swept through the area. The force of it made her body stiffen in shock as several of the Vampires went to attack the two, and were dealt with quickly as they ended up back to back while Akane stood, preparing to join the battle.
"Their exhausted… if this keeps up we'll be captured, and the others will be killed… what can I do? I don't – "
"Yuuichiro! Mikaela!" the two brothers looked to Guren who held off Ferid momentarily.
"What?!" the black-haired boy sliced through another Vampire.
"Take Akane and run!" the two of them stilled.
"W-What?! No! We're not just leaving the rest of you to die!" Mika snapped as Guren shoved Ferid away and shot them a cold glare.
"This isn't a suggestion! It's an order, and you'll follow it, am I clear Special Private Hyakuya?" Yuuichiro flinched but looked away as he grabbed Akane before they jumped back, preparing to attack as Guren continued his fight with Ferid.
"Guren!" the man looked to the three of them.
"JUST GO! IF THEY CAPTURE THE THREE OF YOU WE'RE EFFECIENTLY FUCKED! GET OUT OF HERE NOW!"
Akane could see the pain in Yuu and Mika's eyes as they stared to the others who gave them swift nods. Her eyes welled with tears as the two boys grabbed their weapons and took off away from the battle zone. As they got further away and towards a sheltered area that they could hide in she felt guilt eat away at her. Once more she couldn't stop it and now Yuu and Mika were in danger of not only being captured, but having to watch their loved ones die. She wiped her eyes and the two boys looked to her as they remained ducked down. They were inside an old gas station trying to lay low but near their comrades in case they needed help.
Yuuichiro and Mikaela wanted to obey orders, but they couldn't bring themselves to completely abandon their comrades, and in knowing that had hidden away in the gas station, keeping just out of reach as the Vampire forces were slowly thinned, but the Moon Demon Company troops didn't fair much better. Akane looked to Yuuichiro who was on his knees, taking in a few steady breaths, teeth bared and ground tightly together while Mika kept his gaze down, bangs hiding his eyes just as effectively as Yuu's own bangs were from her deciphering what they were truly feeling. Did they blame her? What did they feel right then? She couldn't honestly be sure.
A part of Akane wondered that if she hadn't interfered, and just found a means to die, that her brothers would have been better off. They wouldn't have known that she had become a Vampire, which she didn't doubt contributed to some of their current anguish, but what could she do to alleviate it? In all honesty, she was just as helpless and hopeless as they were in the face of this situation. Sniffling, tears started welling in her eyes and fell down her dirty cheeks as the two boys remained silent while she found herself unable to restrain the tears.
"I'm so sorry… this was such a horrible mistake. I shouldn't have come… I'm so sorry…" the two boys looked to her.
"No, Akane, this isn't your fault, and we're not blaming you," Yuuichiro said as he reached out and took her hands in his own, startling her somewhat.
"I… just… wanted to see the two of you so badly. I've… missed you so much." Mika smiled a bit.
"Well, this turned out to be one hell of a reunion huh?" he mentioned.
"Y-Yea… your right…" emerald eyes looked her over.
"Akane, how did this happen to you exactly? How… did you become a vampire?" the girl looked down.
"That's a very long story, but the short, battlefield version is that Queen Krul saw use for me and turned me… but I haven't taken a single drop of human blood, and I've been living off her blood for these last four years…" she said.
"Why would you put yourself through that? It can't be pleasant." Akane shook her head, removing her cloak as she took in a deep breath.
"No, it's not… but I did it… so I could become human again," the brunette girl explained as they gave her a confused look.
"H-Human again? How can you become human after being turned?" the girl looked to her two brothers.
"There's a lot of information I have on the ID tag that was given to us as children. I'll discuss it in depth later, but… in essence, its… got a lot to do with you, Yuu," she told the black-haired boy as he gave her a heavily confused look.
"Me? Why?" Mika glanced between the two of them as Akane kept an eye on the battle taking place.
"I honestly didn't believe it would be you, but the information I gathered informed me that an exceptionally powerful Naturopath has another ability, and this one can affect the transformation of Vampires," she stated.
"What do you mean? I'm not sure I follow you here Akane." The girl took in a steady breath.
"Your blood is special, Yuu. As a Naturopath with an unusually high potency to their ability, you can turn a Vampire back into a human with periodical exposure or consumption of your blood," the girl explained as the boy took in the information.
"Wait, are you telling us that Yuu's blood is a cure for vampirism? Then how come they didn't start becoming human again as soon as they started drinking his blood eight years ago?" Mika asked.
"It was dormant. The packets they gave us subdued any gifts or genetic traits that could be given to the Vampires through them feasting on our blood. However, this gift of yours Yuu, is extremely special, and is the reason the Nobles didn't want to touch you, because the packets couldn't fully suppress your Naturopathic trait, and they could sense it inside you…" the black-haired boy looked her over.
"Sense it inside me? Funny, that didn't stop Ferid from doing what he did four years ago… besides, why would it matter to Nobles?" Akane looked him in the eye.
"My research lead to a small bit of information in a book that explained that the blood of an uncommonly powerful Naturopath could be lethal to a Noble vampire if they take enough. A sip of it alone could drastically weaken them as well as make them very sickly." Emerald eyes looked down momentarily before looking back to the fight going on.
"Okay… then how about we test this theory?" Mika looked him over.
"Wait, are you seriously thinking that…" Yuu nodded.
"What if I blocked Guren's next attack, and let Ferid drink my blood? Just enough to get it into his system, could that give us a better chance?" he asked as Akane stared at him in disbelief.
"Yes, but you're taking a huge risk in doing that! if Ferid gets his hands on you, he'll probably try and take you away!" Mika looked to him.
"Yuu, this is dangerous. Can't you think of anything else?" emerald eyes looked to him.
"Like what?" Mika took in a deep breath.
"Anything! Even –" he stilled, a memory rising to the surface as he looked down.
"Mika?" the blonde shook his head.
"Never mind… your right, we don't have time to come up with a better plan," he admitted.
"Right, so the question is, how do we keep him from running off with me?" Akane sat there momentarily.
"What if we created a diversion? The two of us let Yuu get in there, and let Ferid bite him by getting the Moon Demon Company's attention on us being back out when they thought we retreated, in addition, Yuu can use his Psychometric gift long enough to get himself between Guren and Ferid, block Guren's strike, and allow Ferid to bite him, which would give us an advantage because it would weaken him," she explained.
"You do realize what we're risking, right?" the brunette and black-haired teens nodded as Mika sighed.
"The way I see it, Ferid's already made it clear he wants my blood… so why not let him? then Guren and I can get him with our weapons. Akane's got a pretty good plan," he said as the blonde nodded.
"If this goes wrong, we could be captured or worse." Akane looked to him.
"And if we do this right, we'll have an upper hand," she said as Mika looked to the two of them.
"Alright, what do we have to lose?" Yuuichiro held his hand out.
"Okay then, let's go over the plan once more, the moment we're certain of what we're doing, Akane and I will distract them, but you'll only have a few moments Yuu, got it?" The other two put their hands atop his own.
"Yea. Now come on you two, let's show these fangs its their turn to swallow a bitter pill."
