-Chapter 6: Save her by any means.

Jakotsu had given Bankotsu the witches whereabouts over the phone and her identity. Her name was Tsubaki. She was a decedent from Priests just as Kikyo and Kagome. Unfortunately, she became obsessed with dark magic caused by her jealousy of Sango. Throughout the years apparently Sango had surpassed her in everything in school, be it academically or socially. She hit breakpoint when Miroku chose Sango over her. Tsubaki had always been in love with him but he wanted Sango. It was always all about Sango. She had the brains and the looks, the best friends looking out for her and the handsome boyfriend, as for Tsubaki, she had nothing, she was always second best.

"Does anyone wonder if Miroku was also manipulated by Tsubaki?" InuYasha questioned. The entire gang including Bankotsu ran as fast as their own speed allowed them. Kagome on InuYasha's back. "He changed from one day to the other."

"I never gave it much thought. Maybe she did have something to do with his sudden change. All six of us were always so close…" Ayame added. Bankotsu only listened in, wondering.

'If that's the case, if Sango knows Miroku didn't mean to hurt her, will she go back to him?' That really upset Bankotsu. Kagome took notice of Bankotsu's reaction to their conversation; she knew well enough what he was thinking.

"If Miroku really cared about Sango, he wouldn't have allowed himself to get manipulated so easily."

'This Kagome girl is right. I for once wouldn't allow for anyone to control me into causing the love of my life any harm.' Bankotsu raised his speed. The gang followed steady behind, leaving the topic aside. The city lights faded as they reached the ocean's side. Rusted storage buildings all at the side of the ocean.

"She has to be in one of these buildings." InuYasha sniffed the air. "I can't get her scent." Koga and Bankotsu were frustrated with themselves. Where could she be. Why were they not able to protect her?

"We're going to have to split up." Ayame suggested. Everyone nodded.

Bankotsu pushed open the door, he saw Kikyo standing in the middle of the abandoned building. "Where is Sango?" He questioned.

"You think I'll tell you? None of you will be able to find her so easily. Where would be the fun of that?" Bankotsu growled as he dashed towards Kikyo, grabbing at her neck. Kikyo only laughed. "You plan on killing an already dead person?" Bankotsu was beyond mad. Not at the dead girl in front of him but at himself for not being able to protect his mate. "Of course, I can tell you where she's at on one condition."

"Which...?"

"Make love to me."

InuYasha and Kagome walked into another of the abandoned buildings, there they found Miroku tied up on a wooden chair, unconscious. They both ran up to him. "Miroku!" InuYasha called out as he untied the man.

"Miroku, are you ok?" Kagome called out as he gently slapped him.

"Ka…gome…? Where… where am I?" He looked paled and malnourished, as if he had been tied up and locked up in here for days.

"Miroku how long have you been here?" InuYasha questioned.

"I don't know… I don't even know where here is." InuYasha and Kagome looked at each other. Then the man who tried to rape Sango, it hadn't been Miroku.

"We need to get you out of here." InuYasha said as he picked the man up on his back.

"Let's get him to a hospital." Kagome added. She scanned to building just in case they missed something, there was nothing else in there. "We'll leave Sango to the rest." InuYasha only nodded.

"What happened to Sango? Where is she? Why are you guys even here?" Miroku was beyond concerned, he tried to get off InuYasha but was too weak.

"We'll catch you up once we reach the hospital." Miroku couldn't argue, in his state he couldn't do much.

Ayame broke down the door to another of the abandoned buildings, she did a quick search and found nothing but rusted and dusted tools. "Fuck!" She ran out towards another building, there were only two more buildings left, Koga was in one of them, either the one Sango was in or an empty one. She went to one and found Koga. "Did you find her?" Ayame questioned as he walked towards her, he only shook his head. "Then we should hurry up and searched the last building, she has to be there." As she gave Koga her back, he pierced through her stomach with his fangs. She collapsed in his arms. "You…"

Before Ayame arrived, Koga had entered the building and had found Tsubaki. "Where's Sango?!" He growled out.

"Unfortunately for you, your beloved Sango isn't here." Tsubaki mocked.

"Beloved? Don't play stupid with me!"

"Come on wolf-boy, after watching all of you for so long you think I never noticed how deeply in love you are with her?" She was standing on a rusted rail looking down at the wolf. He growled. "I'll use that love you have for her to manipulate your heart." She jumped from the rail and landed in front of Koga, before he could react, she blew a white powered at his face and caused him to faint. As he came to, he only had one thing in mind, kill anyone that came in between Sango and him. That's when Ayame appeared.

Bankotsu tightened his grip on Kikyo's neck. "I would rather die than to make love to you." He tossed the girl aside. "Sango seems to be in another building. I'm done wasting my time here with you." Bankotsu ran out of the building, hearing Kikyo laughing maliciously.

"You will never find her!" He sniffed the air, still no scent of her. He took notice of blood.

'The she-wolf is hurt.' He ran towards the scent. Finding Ayame passed out on the floor. "Hey, wake up." Ayame's wound was now healed, yet she was still unconscious. "Hey… where are the rest of your friends?" He tried to get her to come through. Ayame coughed blood as she regained conscious.

"Koga!" She stood up remembering what had just happened.

"What's going on?"

"Tsubaki used Koga to literally stab me in the back." Koga appeared from a dark corner. His eyes dark as the night sky, drained of any emotion. "You son of a…" Ayame dashed at Koga and punched him on the ribs, then his face and last kicked him on the crotch. It seemed she was stronger than her lover. "That's for allowing a woman other than me manipulate you!" Bankotsu only watched in amazement as the she-wolf brought back her mate into reality.

"Ayame!" Koga growled out in pain.

"What?!" Ayame hissed. Bankotsu had to admit, she was much more terrifying than Koga.

"Nothing… I'm sorry." Koga kneeled. He grabbed her hand and kissed it. "I allowed Tsubaki to control me to easily. I'm sorry. I'm just really worried about Sango."

"His love for Sango allowed me to take control of his heart." Tsubaki laughed from a top of them. Once again, she was standing on the rusty rail. "You know he loves her, yet you still linger around him. How pitiful." All three growled at the girl. Each baring their teeth.

"How many times do I have to make it clear to everyone? I don't love Sango the way you all think. I do love her, as my daughter. The love of a father is much greater than that of any lover!" Ayame held Koga's hand in hers, she knew Koga loved Sango, she did too, but just as he had said, the love they had for Sango was that of father and mother. Parents would do anything for their child.

"You will never get the best of me and Koga. We all know how much we love Sango!" Ayame was already getting really annoyed by this girl, she wanted to rip her up from limp to limp. "Bankotsu…" All this time Bankotsu stood back, he was frightened by the she-wolf right now.

"Mmh…?"

"We'll handle Tsubaki. There's only one more building left, Sango should be there. Go!" Bankotsu didn't hesitate to take her order. He ran out of the building, Tsubaki tried to stop him but both Koga and Ayame stood in front of her.

"You're not leaving!" Koga growled.

Bankotsu blew out the door to the last abandoned building. He let out a sigh of relief, on the middle of the building laid Sango, unconscious. He ran to her and picked her up. "Sango, wake up." She wouldn't budge. "Sango…" He tried shaking her, nothing. "Hey, Sango…" He tried giving her gentle slaps, nothing. "Sango!" She was breathing, but she just wasn't coming through. He ran towards Ayame and Koga who had Tsubaki under their claws. "Sango isn't waking up!" Tsubaki laughed.

"She won't wake up!" Ayame pulled Tsubaki by her shirt and bared her teeth at her.

"What did you do to her?!" She growled. Tsubaki laughed again.

"I placed her under a sleeping spell. Nothing, absolutely nothing will wake her up. She is good as dead!" She laughed once more, this time Ayame punched her.

"You better tell us how to wake her up!" Koga too growled, he was done playing games.

"Truth is, I don't know how. It's beyond my ability." Tsubaki laughed once more, yet all three knew she was telling the truth and fear struck all of them. Will Sango never wake up? Ayame punched Tsubaki once more and knocked her out. Bankotsu took out his phone.

"Mother, you need to help!" Bankotsu's voice shook.

"What's wrong sweetie?"

"It's Sango, a witch placed a spell on her of eternal sleep!" Before Ayame and Koga could add anything, Bankotsu left with Sango in arms.

"Is it safe to leave Sango under his care?" Ayame questioned. Koga nodded.

"There is nothing else we can do. Let's deal with this witch first." Just as Ayame had wanted, both wolfs tore Tsubaki up from limp to limp. She was nothing than a mere human with a little knowledge of dark magic, she was no match for a thousand-year-old wolfs.

"Mother!" Bankotsu burst into the front door with Sango in his arms. Mist ran down the stairs, worried about her son.

"Bring her into the living room." Bankotsu placed Sango on the couch. Mist scanned her thoroughly. "Call Natasha here!" Bankotsu nodded and dialed Mist's good friend, he knew not what she was going to do or why her, but he dares not question his mother. In just seconds Natasha appeared at the front door. Without any invitation she walked into the living room. "Natasha…?"

"Don't worry, this is amateur black magic. I can cure her without a problem, but there is one consequence."

"Which one is it? How do you know she will be ok? Who exactly are you, Natasha?" Bankotsu was still confused as to why her mother's friend knew all this.

"Natasha is the one who helped me transform your father, she is also a witch." Mist replied.

"I thought witches had been banned from the city."

"Only a small number of witches remain. Those of us worthy of doing good with our magic." Natasha commented as she placed a small red stone on Sango's forehead.

"What is that for? What are the consequences you were referring about?" Bankotsu was really concerned for the girl lying unconscious on his couch.

"This gem will help her recover…" Natasha looked straight at Bankotsu. "You love her, right?" He only nodded. "Then you won't like what I'm about to say next…" She placed Sango's arms on her chest and straightened her legs. "In order for her to recover, she will need to forget all about you." Bankotsu looked at his mother.

"But she's his eternal mate!" Mist blurred out. "He will die if she forgets him!"

"I've already thought about that." Natasha handed Bankotsu a sapphire stone. "Place it over your heart." Bankotsu did as told. "She will forget about you, but the love will still remain in her heart, all you have to do now is make her fall for you once more."

"Will that really work?" Mist was concerned for the well-being of her youngest son. Natasha only nodded. "I trust you, my dear friend."

"I do too." Bankotsu added. He closed his eyes as Natasha chanted a spell, the gems glowed vigorously. 'Sango, I love you!'

Sango woke up in the hospital a few days later. The entire gang, including a now recovered Miroku sitting by her hospital bed waiting for the day she would once again open her eyes.

"Where… where am I?"

"Sango?!" Kagome and Ayame both threw themselves onto the drowsy girl.

"You finally came to." Koga sighed out in relieve.

"My love!" Miroku called out as he grabbed her hand.

"You scared us all." InuYasha commented as he and Koga stood by the foot of the bed.

"What happened?" The gang all looked at each other, they knew she recalled nothing of the events that happened a few days back. Bankotsu had explained everything to them and how he wasn't going to give up on his love for her even after she forgot all about him.

"We were in a car accident a couple of days ago, you injured your head badly and was in a coma." Miroku said as he tightened his hold on her hand.

"I don't remember." Sango said as she placed her free hand on her forehead. "I have a horrible headache."

"It's ok, don't stress yourself out, the good thing is that you're awake now and will soon recover completely." Ayame grabbed her hand and placed her own on Sango's forehead.

"I'll go get a doctor." InuYasha said.

"I'll come with you." Koga added as both males walked out the door. Once out of hearing reach Koga spoke out. "Bankotsu didn't lie, she did loose her memory."

"He also said he was going to come back to her life, he has been coming to visit her daily… but now that she's awake, technically she is still Miroku's girlfriend. How will Bankotsu deal with that?"

"He'll find a way… but for once, I won't make it easy for him. He saved Sango, yet I still don't approve of him." Koga and InuYasha found Sango's doctor and headed back to the room. The doctor did a thorough check up on her, and it amazed him. It was as if she had never been in a coma, all her vitals and physical responses were normal. She was extremely healthy. She would be able to leave home by tomorrow morning. They still needed to monitor her overnight, just in case. The gang stayed by her side throughout the rest of the day. Sango felt happy to have such amazing friends and boyfriend, but something in her told her that there was a special person missing.

'Who am I waiting for?' She thought as she smiled and laughed with her friends.
