Chapter 14.

Please Review.

No Flames.

Everyone in their usual outfits.

...

Tomorrow.

Day Time.

Karin was sitting on her front porch, on the porch swing when she heard Sasuke sit beside her on the right side. Karin had been out here all day soaking up the beautiful breezy day, the sun was warm against her skin. Karin smiled at Sasuke and scooted next to him. Karin reached for Sasuke with both hands and enveloped him in a kiss.

"We need to talk about new living arrangements." Sasuke said.

Sasuke's words caught Karin off guard.

"I thought we were staying here and you guys were patrolling?" Karin asked.

Karin's question made Sasuke stop for a moment and she could barely hear the sigh in his voice.

"My parents and your mother all think it would be best for you to come with me to my parents home, that way there are plenty of vampires around at all times, you could roam freely and there would be so much for you to do." Sasuke said.

Karin didn't say no right away the idea was reasonable and she understood why they wanted things that way.

However, Karin wasn't leaving without her mother and as much as she enjoyed taking her college courses she could deal with no school for a while.

Karin sighed. "What about my mom? I can't just leave her here." she asked.

Karin felt irritated suddenly and she scooted away so she could face Sasuke.

Karin did her best to ignore the way the sun lit up Sasuke's eyes and the way the breeze allowed his hair to sweep across his face. Karin pulled her shirt tighter against her with both hands.

"Karin, your mother is fine staying here by herself, there is no reason for you t not go, she will be safe." Sasuke said.

Karin was suddenly frustrated with Sasuke's calm attitude. "No Sasuke, that's not right. and how can you say she will be safe? That damn vampire wants to get to me who's not to say he will go after her to get back at me?" she asked.

Karin stood up and leaned against a post, getting farther away from Sasuke.

Sasuke watched Karin for a few moments before approaching. Sasuke stood up and silently walked over to Karin, she looked away and he grabbed her chin with his right hand forcing her to meet his eyes.

"She will be safe you have my word, Karin." Sasuke said.

Karin frowned. "This is so frustrating, I shouldn't have to live like this, I don't want to live like this!" she said then she watched the hurt in Sasuke's eyes and it took her a few moments to realize the way the words rushed out.

Sasuke began to walk away from Karin.

"Sasuke, please I didn't mean it that way." Karin said felling tears burn at her eyes and tugged on Sasuke's shirt with both hands. "I just don't want to be scared anymore.. I'm so scared Sasuke."

Karin let herself cry in front of Sasuke, something she hated doing.

It was silent and if Karin couldn't see Sasuke's feet firmly planted on the ground then she would have assumed that he left. Karin felt Sasuke's right fingers brush at face, soon his lips kissed her tears.

"I don't want you to be like this, I feel terrible. But I mean, that's exactly why you should come home with me and my parents." Sasuke said.

Karin wiped her tears with both hands. "Don't you think things would be easier if I were a vampire?" she asked.

Sasuke glared down at Karin and she almost flinched from the intensity.

"No." Sasuke said, coldly.

"Are you kidding me, you have even listened or tried to reason with me? Sasuke I would be strong and I would be a vampire, Hidan wouldn't even want me anymore! And I'd be just like you so why the hell not?!" Karin asked.

"I was angry but could you really blame me? He wouldn't even listen to me his instant reaction was no, without even an excuse as to why." Karin thought.

"No, Karin. It's final!" Sasuke said, showing Karin his fangs.

Karin rolled her eyes. "I'm not afraid of you, you're being completely unfair. I'm going to your parents about this." she said then pushed passed Sasuke on the right side.

Sasuke grabbed Karin's right hand with his right hand, pulling her close.

"Let go!" Karin said snapping, trying to get free.

"You're not going to my parents about this. My decision is final!" Sasuke said.

Karin shook her head. "You're a jerk." she said, gave one last push with her left hand.

Sasuke released Karin before he finally allowed her to walk away.

Flustered, Karin decided to sit in her room, she ran up the stairs ignoring her mother and Mikoto. Karin slammed her bedroom door with her left hand so loud it rattled the house.

"What was that all about?" Mikoto asked.

Sasuke stood up dumbfounded and annoyed in the hall. "Typical human behavior, she's being a brat because she didn't get her way." she said then rolled his eyes before grabbing some car keys with his right hand. "I'm leaving for a bit."

Mikoto frowned. "Shouldn't you go up there and sort this out?" she asked.

Sasuke shook his head, his fangs starting to poke at his lip. "If I go up there right now, I might lose my temper, that's the last thing I need to happen." he said before he left the house.

There was only one place that Sasuke knew to go to, Naruto's.

...

12 minutes later.

Sasuke drove little ways to the familiar apartment complex and he stepped out of his car and walked up the wooden stairs to the small apartment he let himself in, he knew Naruto would be here.

"Hello there fellow vampire prince!" Naruto said.

Sasuke shook his head, chuckling.

"Hello fellow... er vampire." Naruto said grinning at Sasuke's response.

Sasuke took a seat in Naruto's small living room. Nobody would never be able to tell that 2 vampires lived here. It was so normal, human looking.

"So what brings you here?" Naruto asked.

Sasuke shook his head.

"Ah the million dollar question!" Naruto said then he handed Sasuke the bottle of Jack Daniels with his left hand.

Sasuke quickly took a few swigs with his right hand.

"That bad, dattebayo?" Naruto asked, grinning.

"Karin, wants to be a vampire, I told her no obviously." Sasuke said then he took a few more swigs.

"How could she even want to be a vampire? She was fine as a human, she could still enjoy her life. I didn't want to take that away from her, and what would her mother think?" Sasuke thought.

"Ouch, sounds tough." Naruto said before taking the bottle with his left hand and took a few sips himself.

"Yeah, and her storming up to her room acting like a brat doesn't help any." Naruto asked laughing, hysterically.

"What's so funny?" Sasuke asked, annoyed.

"Her and Hinata have a lot in common is all, Hinata throws princess tantrums as well." Naruto said.

Sasuke shook his head unexcited. "I hate women." he said.

"I'll drink to that!" Naruto said grinning.

Sasuke and Naruto drunk some more. It couldn't hurt to spend a few hours away from Karin, besides Sasuke needed to refresh his brain before accessing her problems again.

...

Kimi's House.

Karin heard a soft knock on her bedroom door and she knew it wasn't Sasuke.

"You can enter." Karin said.

"Hello, my sweet darling." Mikoto said.

Mikoto's voice was refreshing to hear.

Karin watched as Mikoto carefully shut her bedroom door with her left hand and approached her on the bed.

"Mind if I asked what happened?" Mikoto asked.

Karin shrugged her shoulders. "It's just, Sasuke... he's so frustrating, I barely even go to ask to be a vampire and he shut me down with no excuse." she said then looked up at Mikoto.

Mikoto seemed suddenly interested in what Karin was saying.

"You want to be a vampire?" Mikoto asked as she couldn't hide the way her eyes lit up with excitement.

"You don't seem so against it?" Karin asked, smiling.

Mikoto shook her head. "Well I'm not, I think it would be great!" she said then she reached for Karin's hands with both hands. "You would be part of the family, completely."

Karin frowned. "Yeah well, Sasuke said no." she said.

Mikoto watched Karin carefully for a few moments.

"I mean it makes sense doesn't it? I'd be much stronger, Hidan wouldn't even want me anymore considering I wouldn't be human." Karin asked, shrugging her shoulders. "He won't listen to me though."

"Well you never know, I could try talking to him. It might help considering I am not against turning you." Mikoto said.

Mikoto's words sent excitement through Karin's veins, she jumped up hugging her.

"Really? Thank you!" Karin questioned.

Karin heard Mikoto laugh before she patted her on the head with her right hand.

"Try to cheer up now." Mikoto said before releasing Karin and leaving her alone once again.

...

Kimi's House.

Living Room.

Evening.

When Sasuke returned to Kimi's house, his mother immediately approached him, he was slightly drunk waving from side to side as he walked.

"You've been drinking?" Mikoto asked dumbly as if she couldn't smell it.

Sasuke smiled up at Mikoto before sitting on the couch. It felt so weird staying in this house as if it were their own, Sasuke missed his.

"Well the smell answers my question, Can I talk to you? Or are you too drunk?" Mikoto asked as she sat across from Sasuke on the couch on the left side.

"Sure, speak mother!" Sasuke said, excitedly.

It took a lot for vampires to get drunk, they have to consume triple what the average human would, it's safe to say that if Sasuke were a human he'd probably die.

"Well I was doing some thinking, and I was wondering if maybe you thought of other options for Karin?" Mikoto asked.

Sasuke looked at Mikoto oddly. "Like what? what are you getting at?" he asked, already knowing where this was going and he was beginning to get really pissed.

"Well, why not turn her into one of us?" Mikoto asked.

Sasuke snarled at his mother, bearing his fangs. "No, and it's my final decision, I will not tolerate this conversation!" he said.

Mikoto frowned at Sasuke. "Sasuke what happened years ago doesn't mean the same fate will occur to Karin." she said.

Sasuke jumped up from his seat. "Shut up!" he said, threatening dangerously angry.

"Sasuke, do not take that tone with me, control yourself, I being honest. What happened to Chino, will not happen to Karin." Mikoto said.

"You don't know that! I won't take the chance, you may all want to gamble her life but I will not!" Sasuke said then he began to walk away from his mother.

Mikoto sighed. "I'm going to meet your father and Karin's mom, we will have this conversation again." she said.

Sasuke rolled his eyes. "I make the final decisions, she is my tomato." he said.

Mikoto shook her head in disgust as she walked out of the house.

Sasuke waited until he knew Mikoto would be gone and stormed up the stairs.

Sasuke walked into Karin's room and noticed she was sleeping. Sasuke turned the light on with his left hand and still Karin laid steadily breathing. Sasuke took his jacket off with both hands and tossed it on the floor making a loud noise.

Sasuke watched as Karin jumped from her slumber and her heartbeat rose.

"Sasuke?" Karin asked, softly.

Sasuke walked over to the bed and glared down at Karin. Without thinking Sasuke slapped Karin across the face with his right hand so hard that her head turned to the left side. Sasuke heard Karin whimper and he froze in the spot.

"W-what-?" Karin asked but was cut off.

Sasuke didn't let Karin finish he grabbed both her wrists with both hands and pinned her down on the bed, her hair spilled beautifully across the mattress.

"How dare you?! I told you no. the answer would be no. you went to my mother anyway, what the fuck Karin?!" Sasuke asked, looking down into Karin's eyes hard and she began to cry.

Karin tried to fight Sasuke, he pinned her wrists down harder.

"You're hurting me Sasuke!" Karin said, yelling.

Sasuke watched as Karin wouldn't meet his eyes. Sasuke let Karin go for a moment and she rolled on her left side hiding her face.

"Look at me." Sasuke said, demanding.

Karin refused.

"Look at me!" Sasuke said, screaming before grabbing Karin's hands with both hands and pinned her one more.

Karin's face was red as tears streamed from her face.

"I-I can't." Karin said crying before trying to turn away.

"And why the hell not?!" Sasuke asked screaming, his anger a steady flow through his dead veins.

"You're scaring me." Karin said, whispering.

Sasuke felt a twinge of guilt hit his chest and he let Karin go softly.

Karin rolled into a ball and cried softly.

Sasuke sighed before getting in bed and snuggling up to Karin. "I'm so sorry." he said carefully hovered over Karin, inspecting her cheek it was still red, but at least no blood and no bruising.

"You're drunk." Karin said softly turning to Sasuke. "I want you to get out." her bangs fell into her face hiding her eyes. "Get out."

Sasuke hung his head in defeat and quietly left the room. Sasuke screwed up all because he couldn't tell Karin the truth about Chino.

...

2 days later.

Kimi and Karin's House.

Day Time.

Sasuke waited for 2 days, allowing Karin to cool off. The last thing Sasuke wanted was to overwhelm Karin. Sasuke sighed deeply before opening Kimi's front door with his right hand. Mikoto stood waiting as Sasuke knew she wanted to talk and he allowed her to lead him to a study room.

"I know the last thing you want to hear from me is that you should change her into a vampire. But you need to listen to reason, she is not an object she is capable of making her own decisions. Sasuke, my son I love you dearly but you need to learn to let go. What happened with Chino was many years ago." Mikoto said.

Sasuke didn't let his mother see his emotions, he met her gaze and she gave him a precise look.

"I know it was years ago but I don't want that same fate to happen to Karin, I love her far too much and I don't want to lose her like that." Mikoto said.

"Sasuke, the likeliness of that happening are not much at all. Chino's case was far different we didn't know much about her in the first place, Karin is an entirely different person, human." Mikoto said.

Sasuke rolled his eyes. "I hate how you talk about Chino so lightly, as if she didn't mean anything. Despite not coming directly from your womb, she was still my sister... and she was a part of this family." he said.

Mikoto walked over to Sasuke, taking his right hand with both hands. "Oh Sasuke, it's not like that, I promise. I loved her very much. The reason her change didn't go well was because she had her mother's original vampire blood in her system, so ours rejected. You have to stop blaming it on just the fact that we tried to change her." she said.

"Karin is pure human, so I highly doubt the same fate would occur, Just at least think about it Sasuke. Please, she would be much safer." Mikoto said.

Sasuke nodded his head silently. "Okay." he said.

Sasuke was defeated, he truly didn't have much reason to fight it anymore and that bothered him to the core.

"And for pete sake my son, stop hitting that poor girl!" Mikoto said, angrily.

Sasuke heard the rage in his mother's voice and he looked up at her sadly. "I know..." he said.

"Her mother said she's been in her room these past couple of days, she hasn't moved. You need to go fix it, and tell her the truth, please." Mikoto said, releasing Sasuke.

Mikoto left the room suddenly. Sasuke took this as his cue to go see Karin. Sasuke walked up the stairs and Karin's bedroom door was in his line of sight before he had wanted it to be. Sasuke collected his thoughts as best he could before softly opening it and closing it behind him with his right hand.

Karin's back was turned away from Sasuke as she sat on her bed gazing out the window, her crimson red hair flowed beautifully down her back and her skin a gorgeous fair color. Sasuke walked toward Karin and she refused to acknowledge him.

Sasuke sat on the bed softly, creeping behind Karin until he was able to wrap his arms around her small waist.

Karin sighed and turned around to meet Sasuke. "We need to talk." she said, whispering.

Sasuke nodded. "Not here, let's go somewhere else." he said.

"Okay."Karin said.

...

25 minutes later.

Park.

Sasuke and Karin arrived at a beautiful park. It had 3 different large ponds, tons of trees, and wildlife. The sun was out and there was a light breeze that blew in between the trees. Sasuke knew Karin would love it.

"It's beautiful here." Karin said noticing.

From left to right Karin and Sasuke took seats on a secluded bench away from nosey humans.

"Sasuke, I can't have you hitting me anymore... I just can't." Karin said.

Karin's words were almost a whisper.

Sasuke frowned before looking at Karin. "Karin, you need to understand that I am trying here. I am a vampire my nature it to be harmful, to feed on human blood, to kill." he said.

"I can't change overnight, I will never be a human like you, I will never be perfect either... it's going to take time." Sasuke said.

Sasuke watched as Karin bit her lip.

"I understand that.. I just want you to try to be more honest and open with me, it's so infuriating sometimes. I get one answer and I never get a reason as to why. How can I understand you if you don't let me in?" Karin asked.

Karin had Sasuke there as he knew that was one of his biggest flaws.

"I know and that's why I'm going to tell you my reason behind why I said no to you being a vampire." Sasuke said.

Karin sat up and gave Sasuke her undivided attention. "Okay, please." she said.

Sasuke took Karin's right hand with his left hand.

"My parents, many years ago.. stumbled upon a child, her name was Chino and she was a human. We found her when we were traveling in between villages. She was alone, and we quickly found out that her parents were killed-" Sasuke said but cut himself off for a moment before continuing. "We ended up taking her into our home, allowing her to be part of the family. Eventually with her consent, we decided to change her to be like us. Her body couldn't handle the transformation, and she died a very painful death that same night."

"Oh I'm so sorry Sasuke, if I had known." Karin said, kissing Sasuke's left hand softly.

Sasuke smiled sadly at Karin. "There's more. You see we didn't understand the reason at first. But my parents sought out help from a much older vampire, he's a family friend of ours and all he does is research. Well, he found out that Chino's birth mother was a vampire pure blood. Basically when the blood from our family line tried to change her, it interfered with hers. She was half human, half vampire... you can't change someone like that." he said. "You see, Karin I was terrified of something like that happening to you, but after a long talk with my mother I discovered that you would not have the same reaction due to the fact that you are purely human. Because of that I have decided to consider it."

Karin smiled now, a happy smile before reaching for Sasuke's lips as he allowed her entrance to his mouth and he wrapped his arms tightly around her.

"I love you my tomato, I'm pretty sure I would miss you being a human." Sasuke said.

"I know Sasuke, and that's why I've decided to wait a while, I want to talk to my mom and I want to learn about the entire change before I jump into it. I'm willing to wait for you." Karin said.

Sasuke smiled this time and held Karin close to him. "Your perfect, tomato." he said.

Sasuke heard Karin laugh.

"Not as perfect as you." Karin said.

After learning what Sasuke had been through Karin could completely understand why Sasuke said no. If Karin had known sooner she would have never reacted the way she did.

Karin cuddled into Sasuke softly and allowed his arms to envelope her as she felt safe and loved far more than she'd ever expected. Karin could wait for Sasuke to be okay with it.

...

Kimi and Karin's House.

Karin's Room.

1 Week Later.

Evening.

A few days passed by so easily, Karin gave up on being turned into a vampire at least for right now. Karin couldn't give up forever. As far as moving went, Karin still had a decision to make. Karin wasn't going to let Sasuke decide for her. Karin couldn't leave her mother that easily, not to mention she would go back to being alone.

The truth was even though Karin was happy with Sasuke and with him being in her life. Karin was frustrated. Karin quit going to college and she basically quit having a normal life all together. Karin was separated from her friends. The only new friends Karin had were Naruto and Hinata and they were vampires.

Karin felt depressed, trapped, and overwhelmed. Kimi refused to live with them due to her being in remission, which it took her a long time to tell her, she's going to be okay but she won't leave regardless. Karin looked at her room studying the various posters and glow in the dark stars that were barely still sticking to the ceiling. When Karin was little she made her mother post them, she was obsessed with space and stars.

Night time had just barely hit and Karin looked out her window once again to realize a different vampire was patrolling, 2 in fact. Karin sighed and looked at her laptop which she never used anymore. Karin stopped talking to her friends when she quit college, actually she stopped talking to them when she met Sasuke, but it only got worse as time went on. Karin outed for a few moments before she heard her phone go off.

A bell tower that Karin never get to hear anymore sounded from the apple iphone, she felt her stomach flutter as she walked over to her nightstand and picked it up with her left hand before unlocking the iphone. A new text message, Karin nearly fell on the floor when she was shocked to see an old name, 'Ino'.

Karin smiled to herself and fixed her glasses with her right hand for a moment before opening the text and sitting on her bed as she read it.

"Karin, I know we haven't gotten together in a long time and that it seems like were more of strangers rather than friends, but we have known each other since we were babies and I miss your face more than ever. Please come out with me and a few of the other girls tonight. I always miss you, and I wish you'd just talk to me like you used to... if not then I guess I'll try to understand and move one... but I hope to hear from you..." Ino said in the text.

Karin frowned at the irony, hear she was thinking and sulking to herself about how she had no friends, when in reality she did. Karin's long time best friend. Ino missed Karin and she needed her to know that she missed her too. Karin hurriedly typed back a reply.

"I miss my Ino, and I have a lot to talk to you about. Let's meet up." Karin said in the text.

Karin tapped her left fingers along the screen of her iphone as she waited, which was only about a minute.

"Eeeeeek! YAY! I can't wait! Oh where have you been all my life?! LOL Let's meet at the familiar place. 8 sharp! :)." Ino said in the text.

Karin smiled and put her phone down before looking at the time, she had to start getting ready. Karin felt a rush of happiness out of nowhere, and she was excited as she began to get ready. Karin opened her closet with her right hand and contemplated for a moment before she grabbed a large over sized gray flowy sweater then a pair of denim skinny jeans, following her black flats with both hands. Karin smiled before entering her bathroom and freshing up.

Once done and putting on her glasses back on, Karin decided to pin her bangs back and straightened her hair. When Karin was finished she grabbed a small black purse with her money and phone inside with her right hand and left her bedroom.

Karin walked downstairs and as she saw Sasuke just enter the house she frowned completely forgetting that she had to tell him.

"Oh I forgot!" Karin said, startling.

Karin watched as her mother and Mikoto were sitting in the hallway watching her. Mikoto and Kimi were smiling though, so they must have caught on to her good mood.

Sasuke raised an eyebrow in surprise and suspicion. Karin glanced at Sasuke and smiled.

"One of my old friends who I haven't had the chance to be around in a really long time asked if I would go and hang out with her and some others tonight, I'll be back a little later." Karin said.

Karin walked over to Sasuke to kiss him goodbye but he held her out at arms length.

"Are you kidding me Karin?" Sasuke asked, snarling.

"Sasuke!" Mikoto said scolding before looking at Karin with worried eyes.

Sasuke ignored Mikoto and continued to glare at Karin. "There is a rogue vampire out there wanting to kill you, we are patrolling here every night as it is and now you want to just go out and have fun? What the fuck Karin?" he asked.

Karin was taken back by Sasuke's horrible attitude. Karin crossed her arms taking a few steps back from Sasuke.

"And that's my fault? You can't expect me to live my life trapped in a bedroom! I'm going insane, I miss my friends, and my freedom. I can't deal with this. Please Sasuke, I really need this." Karin asked begging at the end, her mind was made up but she didn't want to have to come home to an angry vampire.

Karin looked over at her mother who looked worried.

Karin stepped closer. "Sweetie maybe you should listen to Sasuke." she said.

Now Karin was taken back.

Kimi was on Sasuke's side.

"Are you kidding me, mom!" Karin said.

Karin rolled her eyes at her then looked back towards Sasuke as she was about to speak once more before Mikoto spoke first.

"Sasuke, I think it's a good idea, the poor girl has been trapped in this house for weeks on end. And we've had no sign of any rogue vampires, let her have one night with her friends." Mikoto said.

On the inside Karin was jumping for joy, finally someone understood her.

Sasuke rubbed his temples with his right hand for a moment. "Do what you want, but when you get attacked, don't cry to me. I'm done protecting someone, if you want to be dead then go ahead and die. I'm not wasting my time on you." he said left.

Karin was stunned and heartbroken as Sasuke stormed off. Sasuke was out of sight in seconds and Karin felt her heart hurt but ignored it.

Karin can't let Sasuke ruin her night. "Good bye." she said snapping before leaving the house.

...

18 minutes later.

Shushu-ya.

The drive to meet Ino felt like it took forever and Karin was happy when the familiar restaurant caught her eye. Karin parked in the parking lot and walked inside.

"Karin!" Ino said, running over to Karin and hugged her tightly with both hands.

Karin felt a few stay tears leave her eyes, the same for Ino. Karin wiped her tears carefully with her left hands and smiled at Ino.

"I missed you." Ino said.

Karin nodded in agreement before pulling her and Ino over to a secluded table with her right hand.

"Now we can catch up." Ino said, smiling.

Ino Yamanaka was an 18 year old woman that has fair skin, long platinum blonde hair worn in a high ponytail at a waist length, with bangs that covered right side of her face, light blue eyes, and in her usual outfit, a short sleeved orange shirt with green edges, long white pants, and blue sandals and she was model stunning.

Karin envied Ino in that way before she shook the thoughts away and decided to start off the conversation.

"Well, I'm in an arranged marriage..." Karin said.

That was the easiest part and the next part was telling Ino all about Sasuke, and everything about her mom. Of course Karin left out the fact that they are vampires, and she made sure to leave out the part about her being hunted by a rogue vampire. However, Ino still took the news much better than Karin thought. Karin suddenly felt bad for not trusting Ino to begin with.

"So that's why you've been distant. Gosh I would have understood silly!" Ino said smiling at Karin and preceded to tell her about her life and her new changes.

...

Night Time.

Ino and Karin reminisced for hours and had a lot of fun and they agreed to start meeting every other week.

"And you have to let me meet that fiance' of yours!" Ino said grinning from ear to ear.

Karin smiled back. "Of course, I'll let you know of a good time." she said.

Of course Karin would have to plan and warn everyone else, considering they would have to pretend to be human. Karin smiled to herself at the thought of what that day would be like.

"Well it's getting late so I guess I'll see you next week?" Ino asked smiling before hugging Karin. "Okay sounds good, did you park out front?" then frowned. "Yeah, didn't you?"

Karin shook her head and pointed out back at the parking garage.

"Do you want me to walk you to your car then?" Ino asked offering, waiting for a moment.

"No that's alright." Karin said shrugging it off.

...

2 minutes later.

Ino walked to her car, once she began to drive off Karin walked to her own.

Karin didn't realize how scary the parking lot could be at night. Karin looked at the vacant cars and tried to find hers and she did and began to walk in the right direction.

Karin felt weird and she felt as if someone was watching her. That thought was confirmed when Karin heard footprints. Karin turned around and scoped the area out. Karin saw a shadow rush along the dim lights of the parking lot and she nearly panicked. Karin quickly grabbed her keys with her left hand and pressed the unlock button as soon as she saw her lights on she ran to her car. Karin's rapid breathing was making it hard to concentrate as she put her key in her car door once unlocked she opened it with her left hand and a fast right hand closed it. Karin froze in place.

Karin was terrified to turn and face the person behind her.

"So you're Hidan's new interest, I don't understand why there's nothing special about you." the unknown vampire said.

Karin felt her knees go weak as she turned and looked at the face that belonged to this voice. Karin wasn't surprised to see a vampire.

He had short messy mousy red hair, wide greyish brown eyes, and he was tall and slim, wearing his usual outfit, a long sleeved beige shirt, long grey pants, a black high collared robe, and grey shoes.

Karin glared at the unknown male vampire in response as she was trapped between him and her now closed car door.

"Maybe I should have a taste just to see what he is talking about." the unknown male vampire said before Karin, grinning ear to ear showing his long sharp fangs.

"Sasuke will be here any minute." Karin said warning, trying to scared him off.

The unknown male vampire smiled and with humor in his voice before he responded. "Well, that doesn't seem possible considering you were out with your friend, and your walking to your car alone in a dimly lit car garage which might I add, there's no one to hear you scream." he said.

The unknown male vampire pushed Karin roughly up against the car, his hands snaked around her waist, his left hand at her neck. Karin was frozen in fear as the unknown male vampire stroked her neck with his left index finger.

"You smell so good." the unknown male vampire said.

Karin whimpered uncontrollably, all that she keep thinking about was Sasuke's words before she left home.

...

Flashback.

"Do what you want, but when you get attacked, don't cry to me. I'm done protecting someone, if you want to be dead then go ahead and die. I'm not wasting my time on you." Sasuke said.

Flashback Ends.

...

Karin felt a few tears escape her eyes as she begged for Sasuke to care. Karin regretted leaving the house now and she felt terrible for underestimating Sasuke's worries.

"Please..." Karin said, crying.

The unknown male vampire dug his left index nail into Karin's skin, just piercing the neck and she felt warm blood trickle down her neck.

"Sasuke.." Karin said, weakly.

"Don't worry, I'm going to let you go home to him, but I have to leave a mark first." the unknown male vampire said.

Karin's eyes went wide as the unknown male vampire brought his lips to the puncture skin, he bit down and tore the hole open more. Karin screamed in agony but it was muffled as the unknown male vampire's right hand covered it. Karin felt the hot tears stream down her face and she felt like she would be sick.

The feeling was hard to describe, it hurt and burned. It felt like there was a flame in Karin's bite wound. Karin almost wanted to scratch it as she could hear the unknown male vampire drinking her blood, and she felt his teeth enter deeper as the base of her neck before he finally let go.

Karin was weak and instantly fell to her knees then held herself up with her right hand as her left hand gripped her neck. Karin looked up at the smirking unknown male vampire with puffy tear stained cheeks.

"Now be careful on your drive home, you are probably going to be weak. Very weak." the unknown male vampire said before he began to laugh.

Karin stood up wobbly.

"Tell Sasuke, Hidan says hi." the unknown male vampire said before he was gone, so fast that it seemed like a dream.

Karin carefully got into her car, once inside she locked her doors and cried. Karin looked in her driver's mirror, the blood was all over her sweater, she felt sick and quickly opened her door, throwing up the contents of her dinner.

Karin felt sweaty and dizzy and carefully started her car, holding her neck with her left hand that was now stained with blood.

...

34 minutes later.

Karin parked in the driveway of her house and saw that most of the lights were off. Karin fell up the stairs to her porch. Karin held her neck tightly with both hands before she called out.

"Sasuke!" Karin said yelling but it barely came out.

Karin began to cry as she felt like her life was slowly fading. The blood still flowed softly out of the puncture holes.

"Sasuke!" Karin said, trying once more but it was no use.

Karin sat on her knees holding her neck weakly with both hands on the porch. The porch light suddenly flickered on and Karin felt a glint of hope as she watched the front door open.

Kimi screamed before falling to her knees and her scream echoed down the entire street and soon Karin was surrounded by a horror stricken Mikoto and Fugaku. Mikoto looked paler than normal as she watched Karin bleed. Fugaku quickly took control of the situation.

"Sasuke..." Karin said, crying out.

Fugaku looked up at Mikoto, due to the fact that he was now leaning beside Karin. "Get Sasuke, now!" he said.

Mikoto rushed off and it felt like forever until Karin saw Sasuke.

Sasuke looked down at Karin in horror before quickly taking her in his arms. "Oh god, I'm so sorry for everything I said earlier." he said.

"It burns." Karin said crying.

Sasuke grabbed Karin's left hand with his right hand and moved it away from the wound. Sasuke looked disturbed.

"Oh no, he tore off the flesh, who did this?!" Sasuke asked, raising his voice in alarm.

"He didn't say..." Karin said, groaning. "He just said that Hidan says hi."

Sasuke looked at his father.

Fugaku nodded in agreement. "Jugo and Nowaki!" he said.

Soon the 2 vampires, Jugo, a tall, muscular young man who has spiky orange hair, red orange eyes, fair skin, and in his usual outfit, a long sleeved dark purple shirt, long black pants, black boots, and Nowaki, a man that has long green hair, yellow eyes, slim, and in his usual outfit, a sleeveless dark grey shirt, long dark brown pants, dark grey sandals, red headband, and a beige belt, that were patrolling ran over.

"I need you to find the vampire that did this." Fugaku said, pointing his right index finger to Karin.

"Any ideas?" Nowaki asked.

"Yes, we have reason to believe it's Hidan's little rat, Sasori." Fugaku said.

Jugo and Nowaki nodded at Fugaku before leaving them.

"Bring her in, I have to fix her up." Mikoto said coming back into Karin's view.

Karin looked around realizing that Kimi wasn't here. Karin would have guessed that Mikoto probably told Kimi to wait somewhere away from the horrible scene.

Karin whimpered once more in pain before feeling herself begin to black out and she felt someone catch her as she began to fall on her face. Karin smelled the familiar vampire. Karin's face was carefully caught against Sasuke's chest. Karin felt Sasuke lift her into his arms and she felt herself being carried before the darkness took over.

...

Tomorrow.

Day Time.

Sasuke lay beside Karin's sleeping figure on the right side, her chest slowly rising and falling at every small breath she took. Sasuke looked at Karin's wound, now stitched and bandaged. Sasuke took in Karin's scent and cuddled closer pulling her into him. Sasuke sighed and kissed Karin's forehead thinking about the horrible night they had just had.

...

Flashback.

"Sasuke, Sasuke where are you?" Mikoto asked.

Sasuke could hear his mother's voice, it was frantic and coarse.

"What's going on?" Sasuke asked softly appearing before Mikoto in the hallway of Kimi's home.

Mikoto looked exhausted, distraught. Sasuke knew something was wrong as soon as he saw Mikoto's face then it hit him. The familiar scent of someone's blood. Mikoto grabbed Sasuke's right wrist with her left hand and within seconds they were out on the porch. Sasuke covered his nose with his left hand for a moment and his eyes confirmed the familiar blood he had smelled just moments before.

Sasuke saw his small tomato gasping and sputtering, her tears falling furiously down her face. Sasuke ran to Karin cradling her into his chest. "Oh god, I'm so sorry for everything I said earlier." he said.

Sasuke felt a twinge of horrible guilt hit Karin and he knew she didn't care about what he'd said.

"It burns." Karin said crying out.

Sasuke realized Karin was scratching at the wound.

Sasuke grabbed Karin's left hand with his right hand softly, moving it away. Sasuke was disgusted when he saw Karin's neck.

"Oh no, he tore the fucking flesh, who did this?" Sasuke asked commanding.

Sasuke watched as a look of guilt ran over Karin's face. "

He didn't say..." Karin said, growing weak in Sasuke's arms. "He just said that Hidan says hi."

Sasuke met his father's eyes and he watched as he nodded, calling over our vampire tackers, the ones that had been watching over Karin. Sasuke and his father knew full well who it could be. Hidan's little pet, the only one who would get that far without any reprimanding, Sasori.

Once Nowaki and Jugo were off to find the cold blooded vampire, who Sasuke wished he had the opportunity to, cause hell knows he'd destroy Sasori's life.

"Bring her in, I have to fix her up!" Mikoto said rose from the doorway.

Sasuke had almost forget Mikoto was here.

As they rose to their feet to hurry inside Karin whimpered in pain, Sasuke watched as she was starting to black out. Sasuke caught Karin carefully and carried her inside.

Sasuke looked down and Karin was no longer conscious. "Tomato, you're going to be fine." he said then placed Karin on the couch Fugaku and Mikoto both in the same room.

Mikoto was reaching for her bag with both hands, she was a doctor in past times, and Sasuke thanked her that she was here.

Sasuke felt his mind wandering and he couldn't help but to feel horrible for everything he had said. Sasuke told Karin to go ahead and die that he wouldn't care.

"How could I be so heartless? Karma had a terrible way of showing itself. I could never take her for granted again..." Sasuke thought.

"I have to stitch the wound, then she'll need a small blood transfusion. Sasuke hurry, help me." Mikoto said.

Sasuke was thankful to his mother for interrupting his thoughts.

Flashback Ends.

...

Sasuke froze from his trance as the small human in his arms began to wake.

"S-Sasuke." Karin said ever so quietly.

Sasuke jumped in surprise and allowed Karin to leave his arms and laid back down on her back. Sasuke leaned over and brushed Karin's soft red hair back with his right hand.

"I'm so sorry-" Sasuke said but was cut off.

Before Sasuke could continue Karin put her left index finger to his lips silencing him.

"Don't, please... I can't deal with your self loathing... I'm here." Karin said.

Sasuke was taken back but kissed Karin's lips passionately anyways.

"I love you... so much." Sasuke said.

Sasuke felt Karin freeze, no doubt for his over lovable emotions currently. It was out of character for Sasuke, but after something like this there was no way he could think of feeling otherwise. Karin's small arms wrapped around Sasuke's neck bringing him in closer. Sasuke took a deep breath and smiled against Karin.

"I love you too." Karin said then kissed the side of Sasuke's neck.

Sasuke shuddered.

Sasuke pulled away carefully and allowed Karin to sit up, he joined the motion. Sasuke watched as Karin reached up softly touching the bandage.

"I won't leave, alone again." Karin said.

Sasuke nodded in agreement. "I never wanted to keep you from your friends, I just wanted you to be safe." he said.

"I know. Did they find him?" Karin asked.

Sasuke looked away from Karin, hating the answer he was about to give. "I'm sorry." he said was about all he could manage.

Sasuke felt Karin touch his right cheek with her left hand. Sasuke turned back towards Karin.

"It's okay, I'm safe now anyways. Right?" Karin asked.

Sasuke forced a smile. "Always with me." he said.

Karin reached for Sasuke's right hand with her left hand, sliding her left fingers in between his.

"I'm tired, sleep with me?" Karin said before laying down on her right side.

Sasuke laid and faced Karin, kissing her forehead he held her in his arms till she fell asleep.

...

45 minutes later.

Sasuke had been laying there for awhile when he could hear the voices downstairs. Sasuke carefully left the bed, covering Karin up with blankets and tucking her in with both hands. Sasuke left the room quietly, which wasn't hard being a vampire.

When Sasuke reached the hallway the voices were higher.

"Sasuke, come in here please?" Mikoto asked.

Mikoto's voice was heard and Sasuke quickly made his way to the living area. Sasuke noticed Jugo and Nowaki gathered as well with Fugaku.

"What's the word?" Fugaku asked.

Nowaki looked down in defeat. "No luck finding him. I mean it's literally like he just vanished, we couldn't even find his tracks..." he said.

Sasuke narrowed his eyes.

Typical, Sasori would make it nearly impossible to find himself.

"What now?" Sasuke asked, looking to Fugaku for support.

"A war has started, they attacked one of our own. We need to move back home where we have numbers of our kind waiting to defend us. And we could keep Karin protected better than ever. I'm not giving her a choice anymore. This is a matter of life and death, and out here in a city with humans is no proper area to defend ourselves." Fugaku said.

Everyone listened softly and carefully to Fugaku's wishes.

"I agree." Sasuke said before his father patted him on his right shoulder with his left hand.

"I stand by your decision my love, I want to protect our family." Mikoto said, hugging the her husband and her son before smiling at Sasuke.

"So Nowaki and Jugo, I want you 2 to patrol the house for the next two days while we talk to Karin's mom and figure out a moving plan, Sasuke I know you'll be by her side and Mikoto my love, you need to talk to your friend, it's her daughter and you're the only one she'll listen to." Fugaku said.

Everyone nodded and agreed. Just as everyone started to retreat we stopped in their tracks at screams coming from the second floor.

"Get away from me!" Karin said.

"Sasuke!" Kimi said.

"Oh, no!" Mikoto said, shouting.

Sasuke was running up the stairs faster than he'd ever run before. When Ssuke threw Karin's bedroom door open with his right hand.

Kimi was against the wall, crying. "I don't know what happened, I came to check on her and she started going crazy." she said.

Mikoto ran over to Kimi and comforted her. "She's in shock from the attack, Sasuke." she said.

Sasuke nodded and walked carefully to the bed, he sat on it and noticed Karin's eyes glazed over. It was almost as if Karin was still sleeping but tears were falling down her cheeks.

"Tomato, Karin." Sasuke said, carefully.

Sasuke touched Karin's right shoulder with his left hand and Karin jumped before meeting his eyes. Sasuke held his left hand back startled from Karin's reaction and she dove into his chest.

"Sasuke..." Karin said as she began to sob. Sasuke just cradled Karin with both hands, letting her cry.

Sasuke watched as his mother took her best friend and his father closed the door behind them with his right hand, leaving him and Karin alone.

"He's in my dreams." Karin said.

Karin's soft voice broke through her sobs.

"I'm here now, calm down." Sasuke said.

Sasuke kissed the top of Karin's head, willing her to calm herself. Sasuke laid he and Karin down and held her, softly brushing her hair back with his right hand and kissing her head.

Sasuke knew he needed to talk to Karin about the family's decision but it would have to wait until tomorrow. With Karin being in this fragile state Sasuke couldn't cause her anymore pain.

"I love you..." Sasuke said whispering before hearing Karin fall asleep again.

...

Night Time.

Once Karin was tucked in for the second time that night, Sasuke retreated back downstairs to where his parents and Kimi were.

"She has a history of night mares... got them when her father died..." Kimi said.

Kimi's voice was broken.

"Something traumatizing happened to her tonight.. I should have known to keep my distance.." Kimi said, sadly.

Sasuke felt bad suddenly but his mother's words came out faster than his own.

"Kimi my dear friend, you mustn't guilt yourself. It is not your fault at all." Mikoto said.

Mikoto then enveloped Kimi in a small hug.

"Thank you.." Kimi said whispering before sitting gently on her couch. "So when are you guys relocating Karin?"

Sasuke looked at his parents for the answer.

Sasuke knew they had discussed but a definite time was still in question. This time it was Fugaku who spoke directly to Kimi.

"I originally wanted to give it 2 days, but I'm thinking that me and Sasuke should go on a tracking first see if we can't locate Sasori. We'll keep Jugo and Nowaki here to keep watch over the women, especially Karin." Fugaku said.

Sasuke felt his heart drop as his poor tomato was already experiencing nightmares the attack was only a few hours ago and he had to leave her already. Fugaku could sense Sasuke's hostility.

"It's for the best my son." Fugaku said.

Sasuke nodded not sure what he could possibly say to argue, Fugaku was right.

"Now, it should take us a week at the longest. I am not going to stay away any longer than that. As soon as we get back the entire family is moving to our home." Fugaku said.

Mikoto looked sadly at her friend, Kimi looked about ready to lose her mind. I mean after all Kimi's daughter was under attack and not only were they moving Karin away from her, but Kimi herself won't be able to look after her daughter and what kind of mother could bare that easily?

"I understand.. guess I better spend this week with my daughter as best I can." Kimi said.

There was only sadness in Kimi's voice before she stood up and walked up the stairs to her bedroom.

"When are you leaving?" Mikoto asked.

Mikoto's worried voice wondered.

Fugaku wrapped his left arm around Mikoto looking at her intently. "First thing in the morning, so only a few more hours." he said.

Sasuke nodded and left the room, he didn't want to leave and especially without giving Karin more time to recover. Sasuke slipped outside into the dark and easily found Jugo and Nowaki guarding the perimeter.

"Prince." Jugo and Nowaki said.

Sasuke had known Jugo and Nowaki a long time as they were only a few hundred years older than him. When Sasuke was a child Jugo and Nowaki were his guardians and they became close. Sasuke trusted his life with Jugo and Nowaki more than anyone else that has aided them.

"I have known you guys for a long time. I know I don't have to tell you to be sure and keep an eye on my tomato." Sasuke said.

Jugo and Nowaki both smiled lightly, nodding. Jugo and Nowaki looked into the dark of night, it was chilly and Sasuke looked around taking in the setting. It felt foreign to Sasuke as he was used to being in the middle of nowhere surrounded by nothing but nature. Now they were in a decent sized house on a long dark street only illuminated by street lamps. Cars were parked in multiple driveways and the sounds of traffic coming from the highway sounded in the dark night. Jugo spoke beside Sasuke on the left side, startling him.

"We'll find him and he'll pay for what he did. But friend may I ask something without your ill temper coming out?" Jugo asked.

Sasuke looked up at Jugo once over before returning his gaze to the dark street. "No promises." he said.

Jugo let out a small chuckle not doubt knowing Sasuke's humor. "I know what happened in your past but why not turn Karin? I mean logically it is a great solution to this problem, is it not?" he asked.

Sasuke sighed deeply but didn't get loud with Jugo.

The question had become popular conversation between Sasuke and my parents. Sasuke understood where everyone was coming from and it was getting to the point where he was considering doing the deed.

Sasuke sighed softly rubbing his temples with right hand as a soft headache began to summon. "Well Jugo... I don't know. I just... She's my tomato. I don't want that to go away. And there is a chance she won't make it through the transition.. so many risks." he said.

Sasuke felt Jugo shift his feet beside him on the concrete.

"I understand my friend, not a worry." Jugo said.

With that being said Sasuke nodded subtly before walking back into the house. As Sasuke near his tomato's bedroom door he could hear her whimpering, her breathing was starting to pick up and before she could start screaming from the nightmare.

Sasuke wrapped Karin in his arms rocking her soothingly. Once Karin's body was calmed and her breathing became normal again Sasuke just held her, he wanted to just wrap her up and feel her closeness. Sasuke would have to wake Karin soon and he was not anticipating telling her that he was leaving.

The next couple of hours went by way to soon for Sasuke's liking. Every time Karin began to stir and a nightmare had been working it's way up to a night terror Sasuke would whisper in her right ear softly, keeping her calm and safe. Sasuke noticed as he would caress Karin's soft skin she would ease up and drift back into a soundless sleep. It pained Sasuke to realize that once he was gone there would be no one here to help Karin get past the nightmares. Sasuke frowned to himself as he watched the clock. It was ten minutes to leave.

Sasuke touched Karin's cheek softly with his lips, while caressing her left shoulder with right hand. Gently, Karin started to wake up, Sasuke watched as she sat up now completely awake.

"What's going on, you look nervous?" Karin asked.

Karin's words were soft almost a whisper.

Sasuke looked down at Karin with pain filled eyes before reaching for her and holding her against his chest.

"I have to leave soon... like in 5 minutes..." Sasuke said.

Sasuke felt Karin try to fight against him to leave his arms that wrapped around her but she wouldn't allow it.

Sasuke kept Karin to him firmly. "Please.. don't make this harder than it is..." he said.

At Sasuke's sad words Karin dropped into his arms no longer fighting, he slowly started to feel his shirt moisten from her tears.

"Oh tomato..." Sasuke said cooing, kissing the top of Karin's head.

"Why?" Karin asked, whispering.

"My father wants us to track Sasori... Nowaki and Jugo have tried already but out tracking abilities are more powerful than theirs. It will only be for a week." Sasuke said.

Sasuke felt Karin stiffen under his arms.

"A week?" Karin asked barely getting the words out and she sounded more tired than a normal person should.

Sasuke's heart felt like it was breaking and his stomach felt like a gaping hole. "I'm sorry." he said.

Karin ignored Sasuke's apology before leaving his arms and turning away from him.

Sasuke frowned. "Bye tomato." he said.

Sasuke knew Karin was upset with him, but he could also here his father's footsteps reaching the front door downstairs and he knew he had to get going. Sasuke stood up from Karin's bed and he began to leave the room. Sasuke made his way down stairs and opened the front door with his right hand. Just as Sasuke was about to step out a small voice called out to him.

"Sasuke..." Karin said.

Sasuke looked back and watched as Karin froze on the last step of the stairs her hair falling down her shoulders. Karin's eyes still had tears and her cheeks were red along with puffy pouting lips. Sasuke let Karin run to him, crashing into his arms.

"I love you." Karin said, crying softly.

Sasuke felt himself smile sadly as he was happy that he got a goodbye and Karin didn't stay mad at him.

"Only one week." Sasuke said reminding Karin.

Sasuke felt Karin leave his arms she looked at his with vulnerable eyes.

"I'll be counting." Karin said.

Sasuke smiled before pressing his lips to hers deeply. "I love you." he said whispering before leaving the house at his unnatural, non human speed.

If Sasuke stayed any longer he would have changed his mind about leaving.

"Don't worry son, it will go by quickly." Fugaku said.

Sasuke felt doubt in his mind as he nodded at his father. Sasuke hated being away from Karin and he was going to be in a terrible mood due to it.

Karin watched out into the early morning light. Sasuke was long gone by now but she still couldn't get herself to leave the doorstep. Karin heard someone step behind her,

Mikoto wrapped her arms around Karin and kissed her right cheek. "It will be over soon, sweetheart." she said.

Karin actually felt a little better hearing it from Mikoto as her husband was out with Sasuke, so she knew she had to be feeling the same way as her. Minus the vampire that was threatening to kill Karin and the terrible nightmares, but as far as missing the ones they loved she knew exactly what she was going through.

"Come spend time with me and have some tea." Mikoto said.

Karin couldn't resist Mikoto so she let her guide her into the kitchen, she sat down at the table and let her pour her a cup.

Karin watched Mikoto as she poured one for herself before taking the seat across from her. The sun was beginning to beam through a fog of clouds and Karn watched as the birds began to fly around wildly outside.

"Karin?" Mikoto asked.

Karin was taken from his long gaze out the window and placed back into the conversation with Mikoto. "Hmm?" she asked before sipping her tea with her left hand, the warm sweetness making her throat feel better.

"Once they get back were going to move into our old home, the one where you first started out when this whole marriage thing began." Mikoto said.

Karin didn't make a big deal out of this as she smiled softly at her. "I understand, but I'm worried about my mother." she said.

Mikoto reached for Karin's right hand with her right hand, giving it a comforting squeeze. "She's in remission sweetheart, she'll be fine. She's a strong women." she said.

Karin smiled but Mikoto didn't reach her eyes. "I know, I just don't want her to be alone... why would anyone want to be alone?" she asked frowning and stood up placing her tea cup in the sink before turning back to Mikoto, who had a knowing look on her face.

"Go freshen up and then spend some time with her, you have a whole week before you have to say goodbye." Mikoto said.

Karin then walked away from Mikoto and back up the stairs to her room where she grabbed clean clothes and headed for a shower.

...

20 minutes later.

Once out, Karin dried off getting dressed and brushed through her hair letting it dry in it's natural straight state.

Karin slipped on her clothes and shoes before walking to her mother's room. Kimi stepped out as soon as Karin was about to knock with her left hand. Karin smiled at her and let her examine me.

"So pretty, you just look like your father." Kimi said.

Karin looked away sadly before letting Kimi take left hand with her right hand. Kimi brought Karin down stairs and outside into their massive yard. Karin swear their yard was bigger than their house. Kimi was really into landscaping so you can only imagine how beautiful the backyard was. Kimi and Karin sat in the grass softly before she began to speak.

"This isn't going to be easy baby, but you're a strong mature women who will get through all this nonsense. I'm just sorry we are apart of this mess. Sometimes I wonder if it would have been easier to keep you away from the vampire world." Kimi said.

Karin picked a flower up from the ground with her right hand, playing with it in her small hands. "I understand how you feel, but please don't feel guilty. I mean this hasn't all been easy but I wouldn't want any of it to disappear." she said.

Kimi eased up. "So I've done a good job?" she asked.

Karin smiled and sat in her lap like when she was little.

Karin let Kimi play with her hair and style it however she wanted. "I love you, mommy. And you're wonderful." she said.

Kimi wiped a tear off her right cheek with her right hand and held Karin tight to her body. "I love you so much baby." she said.

Karin didn't let herself get teary. Karin felt that she had enough crying for a long time. Instead Karin just smiled and enjoyed laying in the sun with her mother. Just sitting in silence, comfortable silence was enough for Karin.

...

Karin.

Tomorrow.

Night Time.

...

Dream.

Karin was running fast, through what looked like a dark parking garage only there was no cars, just black. Karin felt her chest rise and fall rapidly as her breathing picked up, she frowned in the distance.

"Where was I going and what was I running from?" Karin thought.

Karin looked behind her not seeing anything as she reared the end of the parking lot as she heard a faint laugh followed by footsteps. Karin turned to see the man that bit her, Sasori.

"Yes it's me, are you having fun yet?" Sasori asked.

Karin felt herself glare as she looked around for an escape route. Sasori laughed to himself obviously amused by something Karin had no knowledge of.

"You see this is the part where I make you scream!" Sasori said before he ran towards Karin faster than her eyes could register, within seconds he had her pinned against his chest.

Sasori grabbed Karin's hair roughly moving it to the right side before he let his mouth fall onto her neck.

"No, please!" Karin said begging looking around for any sign of her vampire prince. "Sasuke!" screaming once more, getting laughed at.

"He can't hear you, he will never come for you." Sasori said.

Karin whimpered as Sasori pulled her neck roughly to his lips once more, he licked at the base of her throat.

"I love the taste of your blood, but this time I'm going to take all of it." Sasori said.

More laughter followed Sasori's threatening voice.

"Sasuke!" Karin said screaming louder than before.

Karin tried to fight Sasori off but her small human figure and non existing strength was no match for Sasori.

"Scream sweetheart, scream!" Sasori said before he bit into Karin's neck roughly.

Karin let out an ear piercing scream.

Dream Ends.

...

"Karin! Karin wake up!" Kimi said.

Karin flung up suddenly breathing extremely heavily. Karin almost couldn't catch her breath as a panic attack began to well up. Karin looked around but they were only blurs. "Put your head between your legs Karin!" Kimi said.

Karin could tell it was her mother but when she tried to look at her she look cloudy. Karin did as Kimi said and focused on her breathing.

"Mom." Karin said weakly.

Kimi cradled Karin's shaking figure in her arms. "It's okay sweetie me and Mikoto are here." she said.

It was then that Karin realized Mikoto was at her bedside as well.

"It was horrible." Karin said whispering, looking at Mikoto from under her mother's head.

Karin felt her mother stiffen before resting her down again.

"Here drink this." Mikoto said softly, handing Karin a small cup of tea with both hands.

Karin took the cup of tea with both hands and she sipped it slowly feeling tired again. Karin handed it back to Mikoto and nestled back into bed.

Kimi began to tuck Karin in like when she was a child. Kimi kissed the top of Karin's head before her and Mikoto left her bedroom. Mikoto and Kimi left the door open a crack. Karin listened in on Mikoto and Kimi as she let herself get comfortable.

"Mikoto, What else can we do?" Kimi asked, her tired voice cracked. "I haven't seen her like this in so long. This time she almost stopped breathing from the anxiety."

Karin felt herself get lost in sleep.

Kimi was looking at her long time friend Mikoto through exhausted eyes. "She's asleep now, I gave her some herbal tea." Mikoto said.

Mikoto's words put Kimi at ease.

"God the screaming, I don't know how much more of this I can handle before I fall apart with her." Kimi said, her eyes filled with tears.

It was absolutely terrible for Kimi to be seeing her child like this. The nightmares were progressing getting worse the longer Sasuke was away. Mikoto enveloped Kimi in a hug.

"She'll get through this, we all will." Mikoto said.

Kimi returned the warm hug before walking to her bedroom as she thought about leaving her door open but realized she couldn't hear Karin's screams through it. Kimi laid down in her own bed getting comfortable, anxiety washed over her as she drifted to sleep. The last thing Kimi wanted was to keep waking to her daughter screaming in agony.

...

Morning.

Karin was awake before anyone else as she watched as the day was starting to start, the sun was hidden behind the storm clouds and she listened to the rain pelt the house in a soft rhythmic sound. If Karin wasn't afraid of more nightmares she would be sleeping once more, but she was too afraid to sleep. Sasori haunted Karin's dreams, and she needed Sasuke to be here now more than ever.

All Karin could do was wish that Sasuke was safe and his tracking was going well. Karin wanted Sasuke to just be home and she wanted nothing more than to curl up into his arms and sleep peacefully again. Karin kept her tears at bay and rolled away from her window getting comfortable she let herself try to sleep more.

Karin tossed and turned for hours not making it to sleep at all. Karin got up and put her ipod home on, listening the soft tunes of some music. Karin walked to her dresser to get some clothes grabbing clean clothes with both hands before stepping into her bathroom, leaving the door open to let the music wash in.

Karin took off her glasses and undressed with both hands and she stepped into the shower turning it on. Karin wanted it decently warm and let the water caress her tired and aching body, she grabbed her favorite body wash and began to wash up and then moved on to her hair. Karin shaved the necessary areas and then continued to just sit in the tub and let the shower fall down her neck and back. Karin began to feel dizzy and realized just how much deprived of sleep she had been. Karin got up slowly trying her best not to collapse.

Karin turned the shower off with her right hand, stepping out and drying off. Karin put on her glasses then got dressed in a long sleeved lavender shirt and black skinny jeans. Karin brushed her hair and left the bathroom. Karin decided to at least eat in hopes of gaining a little bit of strength. Karin left her room, walking through the hall. As Karin was about to reach the stairs she noticed the small mirror that hung in the hallway.

Karin's eyes were swollen and she had dark bags under them, she frowned at herself and made her way once again to the kitchen. Karin smiled at her mother and watched as she seemed pleased when she entered the kitchen. Kimi placed a plate of warm french toast and strawberries before Karin with her right hand. Karin loved Kimi's cooking as she began to eat she felt slightly at ease.

"Did you have any luck getting back to sleep?" Kimi asked.

Kimi's soft question caused Karin to stop chewing she didn't want to meet her gaze. Karin put another piece of food in her mouth with her left hand to avoid it.

Karin heard Kimi sigh. "Oh Karin, I hate this. I feel so terrible not knowing how to help you." she said.

This time Karin met Kimi's gaze and she looked tired herself.

Karin frowned at her mother putting her fork down with her left hand. "Mom, please..." she said, not letting herself get upset and being too exhausted to even let herself get upset.

Karin felt defeated.

"I just hope we can get you happy and healthy again." Kimi said, patting Karin's right shoulder with her left hand before leaving the kitchen and her to her hopeless thoughts.

The nightmares weren't going to stop. Not until Sasori was wiped away.

...

Tomorrow.

Night Time.

Karin finally woke herself up due to her screaming. Karin looked around her room, it was silent. Karin's long purple curtains rose and she fell against her window as the wind blew. Karin's long hair was spewed all across her face and she looked down to realize she was wearing a long lavender nightgown. Karin hadn't worn anything like this her entire life. Karin looked around curiously and strained her ears but not a single sound. Karin finally decided to get out of bed.

Karin made her way down the stairs. "Mom?" she asked, with no reply.

"Mikoto?" Karin asked, yelling sightly louder this time.

Karin felt a wave a nausea hit her stomach followed by a terrible throbbing headache. Karin managed to grasp the banister with both hands and steady herself.

"What's going on?" Karin asked no one in particular.

Karin continued through out the house trying to locate someone when she stepped in a wet puddle. Karin was confused as she looked down, her confusion turning to absolute horror when she realized it was blood.

"Mom?!" Karin asked, calling more frantically this time.

Karin watched where she stepped this time, following the small trails of blood. Karin was led to her living room where she saw a dead familiar vampire. Karin let out an ear piercing scream when Mikoto's dead face looked back at her. Mikoto's dead vampire body was frozen in position, a dark gray color took over her beautiful pale skin. Karin's head began throbbing once more, this time she had lost her balance.

"There's more in store for you." a familiar male voice said.

Karin recognized that voice and she swore she did but she couldn't place it, for once it was not Sasori.

"Guess again, darling." a familiar male voice said.

A wave of nausea hit Karin once more as she pin-pointed the person. Someone Karin had only had the luck of meeting once, Hidan. The one who had been causing all this trouble for Karin in this first place.

"Smart human aren't you? God I can't wait to have a taste of you." Hidan asked.

Karin heard Hidan's sickening laugh and she groaned getting up from her kneeling position. Karin walked away from Mikoto's body and followed another blood trail this time into the kitchen.

Karin froze at the scene before her. Blood was splattered everywhere, the counters, table, cabinets. Every thing was soaked in blood and as Karin looked at the island she noticed who's blood it was. Karin felt herself lose her breath her mother. God, Kimi was sprawled on the table her throat had been ripped apart. There was a hole where Kimi's heart should be and Karin held a horror stricken look on her dead face. Karin couldn't hold it in this time, Karin threw up. Unfortunately there was nothing in Karin's stomach to throw up so it was just clear liquid and very painful.

"You sick monster!" Karin said, crying out in anger.

Karin looked around the room as if she would see Hidan and her tears began to fall furiously, she gathered her strength and stood up walking from the disgusting room. Karin found her way to her front door and then she thought about Jugo and Nowaki, how they were supposed to be guarding, patrolling.

"How could they have let this happen?" Karin thought.

Karin walked outside frozen in her spot and she didn't realize just how cold it was. The icy wind whipped Karin's long gown around and she covered her arms as it was short sleeved.

"Jugo!" Karin said, calling out before making her way off the porch. Karin looked around the side of the house, her feet frozen due to the frozen ground. "Nowaki?" she felt herself losing hope.

"I hid them, in a shack... it's somewhere..." Hidan said.

Karin was suddenly frustrated. "You goddamned monster, Where are they?" she asked, shouting out in the street surprised that the night was completely silent.

"Do you know where the pier is? The one that looks over that large river?" Hidan asked.

Karin groaned as she realized it was close by. Karin began her walk, for some reason not ever thinking about taking a car.

...

1 hour later.

When Karin got to the pier it was even colder due to the water being only feet away. Karin walked up and realized how oddly dark it was, usually there were some kind of lights for the boats to be coming in.

"Jugo, Nowaki?" Karin asked softly then walked into a shack that they kept up on the pier.

When Karin opened the door she didn't make it in 3 feet before the door slammed behind her. It was pitch black and her heart sunk in her chest. Karin was stepping in wetness once more.

"Oh no..." Karin said before the lights flickered on.

Karin held her chest with both hands, hoping her heart didn't stop. Jugo and Nowaki were there in pieces.

"God. you're sick!" Karin said, screaming in anger. "What was I gonna do now?" she thought.

Jugo and Nowaki were Karin's only hope. Karin heart a frightening and evil laugh behind her as she turned to be met with the rogue vampire once more. Karin wasn't sure how to react she sized Hidan up looking at the door behind him.

"Don't bother darling, I'd snap your neck before you even touched the handle." Hidan said.

Karin looked at Hidan, observing him, really taking him in for the first time. Hidan's purple eyes penetrated Karin's as she noticed he had grey hair, that was slicked back. Hidan was a tall and muscled vampire. If Hidan was disgustingly evil, Karin would call him good looking.

"God that grey hair next to that pure pale white skin." Karin said shuddering as Hidan came suddenly close, his right hand trailing over her body.

Karin did her best to stay calm but she was shuddering in fear. "What is it you want?" she asked slowly, meeting Hidan's gaze.

Karin looked away as soon as Hidan's purple eyes met her crimson red. Karin couldn't bare looking into them.

"Well, that's simple... you." Hidan said then grabbed Karin with his right hand then.

Hidan with his vampire speed he and Karin were back outside, only this time we were at the waters edge. Karin watched as the water made it's way up the bank, touching her feet. Karin shuddered. Hidan was walking around Karin, observing. Hidan suddenly grabbed Karin with both hands, pulling her against his chest. Karin felt Hidan feel her body in ways she did not wish he would. Karin fought against Hidan's wandering hands.

"Don't fight it human... you just make it more fun." Hidan said.

Hidan's dark laugh made Karin feel sick.

Hidan turned Karin to face him, his face hovering only inches above hers. Karin felt her breathing stop just then. Hidan held Karin's chin with his left hand, her waist with the other. Karin put her hands on Hidan's chest and tried to push him away this only resulted in him pinning her on the ground, climbing on top of her. Hidan pinned Karin's hands above her head with both hands. Karin felt tears brim her eyes. Karin watched as Hidan hungrily looked at her body, she was frustrated when she realized this gown was low cut.

"You're beautiful... god." Hidan said.

Karin met Hidan's gaze and tried to get out of his hold.

"Don't you know how powerful I am?" Hidan asked whispering against Karin's lips before pressing them firmly and roughly to hers.

Whimpering, Karin moved her head to the side trying to escape. Hidan laughed against Karin's lips before lowering his head to her neck, giving it a soft kiss. Karin's body felt disgusted, she wanted Hidan off of him.

"I hope Sasuke kills you." Karin said darkly, annoyed by this vampire.

Hidan put a lot of pressure on Karin's wrists making her cry out. "That's right, cry out for me!" he said.

Karin felt a tear hit her neck and realized the pain on her wrists was enough to make her cry. "You're disgusting." she said, whispering.

Hidan just laughed in response.

"What do you really want anyways?" Karin asked, if Hidan was after her she had a right to know.

Hidan's purple eyes met Karin's crimson red eyes once more before he bowed his head kissing her collarbone then licking it. Karin made a disgusted grunt before Hidan met her eyes once more.

"I want your entire body." Hidan said, his right hand took both of Karin's hands into it as his left hand traced over her chest then her waist before her inner left thigh.

"Please... stop." Karin said but couldn't hold back the tears now.

The last thing Karin wanted was to be raped by this monster.

"Then, I will bite into that soft beautiful neck of yours, and let your vampire watch as I drain your pretty face of color." Hidan said then he let out a laugh at Karin's horror stricken face before getting up on his feet and pulling her with him.

"Our time is done now... I'll meet you again soon." Hidan said then he began dragging Karin to the water's edge.

"What do you mean?" Karin asked frantically fighting against Hidan.

Hidan threw Karin into the shallow beginning of the water, on her knees before he placed his right hand in the back of her neck, she was forced to look down at the shallow water where her knees were completely submerged.

"Waking up is gonna hurt." Hidan said.

Before Karin could ask what Hidan meant her head was pushed under water and she let out a scream trying to fight him. Karin's lungs filled up with water before her eyes slowly drifted.

"Karin!" Mikoto said.

Karin heard the faint screams of her mother and Mikoto.

"Karin!" Kimi said.

Karin was being shaken awake and she finally bolted upright, she couldn't help from screaming. "He's here!" she said. "He's here, He's gonna kill us!"

"Karin calm down!" Kimi said.

Kimi's voice rose but Karin had to get her to understand.

"He's gonna kill you! Then Mikoto! He's gonna rape me! Please!" Karin said.

"Karin?!" Kimi asked screaming before Karin felt a huge slap to her face.

Karin felt truly awake this time, no longer in her nightmares. Karin ripped her covers away with her left hand, examining her attire. Karin was back in the simple lavender shorts and black tank top she had fallen asleep in.

Karin felt a rush of relief. "He was here, I saw him." she said mumbling getting up from her bed.

"Karin, you said he was gonna kill us all?" Mikoto asked looking at Karin with worried eyes.

Karin looked at her mother before speaking. "Was I just sleeping now?" she asked.

Mikoto and Kimi both nodded.

"It felt so real the entire thing..." Karin said trailing off before Mikoto grabbed her right hand with her left hand and sat her down. "Calm down and tell me everything."

Karin nodded letting Mikoto hold her to her chest, her mother stood close by listening.

Karin told Mikoto and Kimi the entire nightmare, everything that happened.

"What now? It felt so real Mikoto... It felt like he was there.." Mikoto asked.

Mikoto shifted so Karin was no longer holding her, now she looked at her straight forward. "I though it was weird that you were sleeping for 24 hours... but you never screamed so we figured you were finally getting the sleep you needed." she said.

Karin looked at her mother who just nodded towards her. "Wait... 24 hours?!" she asked, nearly shouting.

"I had been out that long? That meant Sasuke would be here." Karin thought.

"Sasuke?" Karin asked simply.

Mikoto smiled at Karin for the first time. "He will be here in a couple hours, now I have a hunch of what happened to you." she said.

Karin waited silently, she wanted her to continue but she didn't she held up a hand instead.

"Let's wait for Sasuke and my husband to come home first. It won't be long now." Mikoto said then she stood up leaving the room. "Until then maybe you should come downstairs with us... it would be wise for you to stay awake."

Karin nodded as she agreed with Mikoto completely.

Karin felt like Hidan was in her nightmare, like he was creating it. Karin walked down stairs with her mother and Mikoto, she took a seat on the living room couch and her mother brought her a small yellow blanket.

Mikoto kissed Karin's forehead. "I'm gonna go talk to Jugo and Nowaki about this... see if they have the same hunch as me." she said.

Karin just nodded slightly frustrated that she had to wait for Sasuke and Fugaku to get back before she would tell her the hunch she had. Karin groaned before getting comfortable on the couch.

"Karin, try not to fall asleep, I need to make a phone call to my doctors office." Kimi said.

Karin nodded and once her mother left she let herself snuggle into the blanket. Karin had slept for 24 hours yet she still felt exhausted.

Karin let her eyes drift closed, before Hidan made his presence in her nightmare once more.

"Damn it, I fell asleep again." Karin thought.

...

Night Time.

Dream.

It was cold, where ever Karin was. Karin's eyes wouldn't open right away. Karin took in the sounds of her surrounding. Water, hitting sand. Karin could smell blood and rotting flesh, this time her glass covered eyes finally opened. Karin was tied down to a table, she looked around trying to find an escape. Karin was in the shack, the one that had vampire pieces everywhere. Karin held back vomit and worked her hands, trying to free them. This time Karin was more aware of the fact that she was trapped in a nightmare.

"That's right sweetheart." Karin said, flinching as Hidan caressing her right cheek with his left hand.

Narrowing Karin eyes at Hidan, she tried wiggling her way out from the ropes that had her bound. Karin's wrists and feet were both beginning to feel the burns of the friction.

"It's no use, this time I'm gonna try my best not to let them disturb us." Hidan said, purple eyes held a playfulness to them.

"Sasuke will fucking kill you." Karin said snapping now irritated, doing her best not to let Hidan have her fear.

"Will he now?" Hidan asked grinning before pulling out a small dagger with his right hand.

Karin's eyes widened but she kept calm, as best as she could.

"I don't understand what your playing at here?" Karin questioned, watching Hidan as he walked around the table.

Karin cursed the fact that she was in that damn lavender nightgown once more. It was too revealing and Karin knew how Hidan's disgusting mind worked.

"Well I'll tell you, we are gonna play a game. I ask questions, you answer." Hidan said.

Karin frowned. "This is stupid, just leave me alone." she said.

Hidan didn't seem to like Karin's offensive response.

"Well now you're gonna learn the second part of the game." Hidan said then he grinned before making his way to Karin.

Hidan hovered over Karin, his gaze freezing her, she just looked into his eyes until she felt a sharp pain on her right forearm. Karin whimpered and Hidan grinned before bringing the dagger to his lips and licking her blood off of it. Karin looked at her right arm and realized it was bleeding pretty badly. Karin did her best to ignore the pain.

"Hmm so now you know what happens if I hate your response." Hidan said winking at Karin before stepping away, back to circling the table. Karin watched Sasuke carefully.

"What's my story?" Hidan asked Karin, grinning.

Karin felt confused before answering. "You're a rogue vampire?" she asked.

It felt more like a question rather than a response. This time Hidan walked up to her left opposite arm, gliding the blade against it. Hidan bit down on Karin's lip, ignoring the pain as best she could. A uncomfortable whimper escaped Karin's lips.

"This is fun." Hidan said then he laughed, enjoying Karin's pain.

"I hate you." Karin said, glaring at Hidan.

If looks could kill he would be 6 feet under.

"You look so cute, next question!" Hidan said.

Karin was bleeding from both arms now and beginning to feel slightly light headed, on top of the killed headache she was having.

"And do you know why you're having that headache?" Hidan asked.

Karin looked at Hidan curiously. "Was that the question?" she asked.

Hidan shook his head at Karin. "Wrong answer." he said then he was by Karin's face this time.

"No it wasn't!" Karin said, panicking.

Hidan lowered his head and planted a kiss on Karin's lips as the same time that he made a small cut on her neck.

"Ow!" Karin said crying into Hidan's lips.

Karin felt Hidan smile against her lips before he stepped away examining her.

Luckily Hidan kept the cut on Karin's neck very small, she was worried he would cut her worse. Karin was taking deep breaths, not keeping as calm as she was before. Karin felt tears triggering but she held them back.

"I can tell you're upset, I like it." Hidan said laughing, poking Karin's left side.

Karin flinched and this just caused Hidan to laugh even more.

"Okay, last question." Hidan said, grinning. "How long have I been a vampire?"

Karin cursed under her breath. Hidan was purposely asking questions that Karin wouldn't no the answer to. Karin felt tears burn her eyes. Karin looked up at Hidan and shrugged as best she could, despite being tied down.

"Ahhh tsk tsk tsk." Hidan said smiling at Karin, a fake smile before he walked to where her feet were bound.

If Hidan was going to cut Karin's legs she figured she could deal with it. Karin was surprised when Hidan cut the ropes off her feet. Hidan pushed Karin's right leg up so that her left knee bent and left her right other leg completely straight. Due to this Karin's night gown as slid up way to far for her liking. Karin watched Hidan with fearful eyes as he stepped between her legs, she tried to shuffle herself and to bend her right knee back down straight but he held her tightly.

"Stop moving, I won." Hidan said as he didn't smile at Karin this time, just glared.

"No." Karin said firmly before trying to move again.

Hidan grabbed Karin's left foot with his right hand and held it as tight as he could implying pressure, enough to where she felt immense pain.

Karin cried out. "Stop, please!" she said.

Hidan let go of Karin's left leg with his right hand. Stay still. Hidan grabbed both legs with both hands and wrapped them around his waist.

"Please, I don't want this." Karin said as she was crying now, the idea of him getting to me this way made her sick.

"Relax, I just want a taste." Hidan said grinning, before sliding Karin's night gown up to her thigh with both hands.

Hidan caressed the right one and Karin whimpered, she had no idea what a taste meant but she didn't want it.

Hidan placed the dagger against Karin's inner left thigh before cutting it.

Karin screamed in pain as Sasuke dug deep.

"Yes, scream, I love the sound of your voice in pain!" Hidan said laughing before legging her legs drop.

Hidan walked over to Karin's face and just looked at her as he unbound her hands, Karin scrambled up, covering her body back up. Karin wrapped his arms around herslfself and slid off the table.

Karin limped to the door of the shack before she was pushed face first into it.

Karin's right cheek was against the door, Hidan could only see him in back of her from her left peripheral. Hidan arms held Karin's body down and he nuzzled into her neck.

"I hate that play time is over. Damn that vampire of yours for waking you up." Hidan said then she felt a glint of hope, she was free again. "Time to wake up, sweetheart."

Karin felt Hidans breath on his neck before he bit into her, causing her to lose consciousness.

...

Fugaku and Sasuke made our way to Kimi's house, only feet away we could hear Karin's piercing screams.

"What the hell?" Karin asked growling.

Fugaku and Karin before they ran into the house. On the living room couch was Karin curled in a ball screaming on the top of her lungs, tears falling from her half awake eyes.

Kimi was in the corner of the room apologizing, while Mikoto was kneeled before Karin, trying to get her to snap out of it.

Mikoto met Sasuke's gaze and he walked over to her, she moved over so he was right in front of his tomato.

"What's with the blood?" Sasuke asked.

Sasuk could now smell it, it was over powering, he couldn't realize why he didn't sniff Karin's blood out sooner.

"It's Hidan." Mikoto said, whispering.

Sasuke just frowned before placing both hands one on either side of his tomato's face.

"Tomato, concentrate on my voice. Please." Sasuke said pleading.

Sasuke got Karin's eyes to finally meet his and they widened slightly before she whimpered, reaching out to him with her small hands. Karin reminded Sasuke of a small child who just had a terrible nightmare. Sasuke pulled Karin into him cradling her in his arms.

"Sasuke." Karin said, whispering weakly.

"I'm here." Sasuke said promising before kissing Karin's forehead. "I'm right here, you're safe now."

Karin shook her head. "I'll never be safe." she said.

"Sasuke, go get her cleaned up when she is calmed down, come back. We need to discuss this." Mikoto said.

Sasuke nodded at his mother before carrying Karin in his arms up the stair to their bathroom. Sasuke cleaned Karin's arms up and the small neck wound, bandaging them up carefully. Karin could still smell blood. Sasuke looked into Karin's eyes and she was pleading.

"Where is the last one?" Sasuke asked.

Karin whimpered and turned away from Sasuke as she seemed embarrassed or disgusted.

"I can't." Karin said whining.

Sasuke reached for Karin's chin with his right hand. "Show me, now." he said, speaking softly yet firmly.

Karin's tears began to fall as she pulled off her shorts with both hands, only remaining in a pair of lace panties. Sasuke ignored his male hormones and looked into Karin's eyes.

"Where is it, tomato?" Sasuke asked, looking down and he began to cry as Karin's spread her legs.

There, in Karin's right inner thigh was a very painful looking cut.

"I'll kill him." Sasuke said before slamming his fists down on the bathroom counter.

Sasuke instantly regretted it when Karin jumped in fear.

"I'm sorry, tomato. I didn't mean to scare you." Sasuke said, tending to the wound in Karin's right thigh cleaning it and bandaging it with both hands before slipping her shorts back on her. "I'll be right back." before leaving and grabbing a small blanket from Karin's bedroom with his right hand. Sasuke wrapped the blanket around Karin's shoulders before letting her straddle her and carrying her down the stairs once more.

"It's gonna be okay, love." Sasuke said whispering against Karin's neck before kissing the bandage.

Sasuke sat down on the couch, keeping Karin snuggled on his lap.

Sasuke wrapped his arms around Karin securely and she rested her head on his left shoulder, no longer crying just silently observing.

"What's been happening since we've been gone?" Sasuke asked, slightly worried. Mikoto held Fugaku's right hand with her left hand and Kimi watched her daughter from across the room.

"Her wounds are physical but he wasn't actually here." Mikoto said.

Sasuke felt confused as he looked at his mother. "What? How is that even possible?" he asked then he looked from Mikoto to Fugaku for an explanation.

"Son, do you know how us vampires can be created or born with gifts, like your mind reading?" Fugaku asked.

Sasuke nodded letting Fugaku continue.

"Well, Hidan has the ability to control a persons dreams. He got into Karin's which we don't know exactly what happened but it was some kind of torture judging from the cuts on her body. Which he was able to control, the dream might be fake, but what happens to her is real." Fugaku said.

Sasuke felt his anger rise as he thought about what Hidan had done to Karin.

"Sasuke, this isn't the first time..." Mikoto said softly, careful not to anger Sasuke.

"What?" Sasuke asked, looking down at Karin.

"She had a traumatic first dream, I mean possibly even worse than this." Mikoto said.

Sasuke looked at his mother like she was crazy.

"Everyone was dead... in pieces." Karin said.

Karin's voice startle Sasuke, she sounded far away yet she was right here. Karin sighed softly holding onto Sasuke tightly.

"Karin, tell him the rest." Mikoto said.

Sasuke felt his tomato shake her head into her chest, fresh tears soaking his shirt. Sasuke held Karin tightly, kissing her.

"He wants her, Sasuke. And I mean in the worse possible way, He wants her body." Mikoto said.

Mikoto's words froze Sasuke in place.

"I'm gonna be sick." Karin said whimpering before Sasuke allowed her to run to the bathroom.

Their vampire hearing allowed them to hear Karin's dry heaves.

"I feel terrible, I wasn't here to stop it." Sasuke said frowning before resting his hands in his lap.

"So what, we can't let her sleep now?" Mikoto asked.

Sasuke frowned.

There would be no way a human could function with no sleep.

Sasuke watched as his mother looked at his father.

"She can sleep, but only with you by her side. Sasuke you can read minds, which means you can keep an eye on her dreams. He won't be able to get to her knowing you are always watching." Fugaku said.

Sasuke nodded softly before standing up.

"Let's get some rest, I need to check on her." Sasuke said left the room walking up the stairs.

Sasuke could smell Karin's beautiful scent as he made her way to her bedroom. Sasuke stepped in and closed the door behind him with his right hand, softly.

"I missed you." Sasuke said whispering, making his way to Karin's bed where she was sitting.

Karin met Sasuke's gaze as he took a seat beside her.

It took Sasuke 2 seconds before Karin was jumping into his arms, kissing him.

"Don't leave me anymore." Karin said, crying.

Sasuke felt a twinge of guilt in his stomach. "Never, I promise." he said whispering, looking at Karin's sad face.

"I love you, and we're gonna get through this." Sasuke said caressing Karin's left cheek with his right hand.

Karin leaned into Sasuke's right hand. "I love you too, and I hope you're right." she said.

Sasuke frowned then he hoped he was right too.
