I am so glad to see the love people still have for Molly and Charles. Thank you everyone for your kind words, I hope you enjoy this next chapter...
And Molly had to meet Charles' parents…
Sunlight streamed in through the curtains in the Molly's parents living room and Charles stirred, he opened his eyes and the first thing he saw was the sleeping figure of Molly next to him. He smiled, silently sending out a big thank you to Lady Luck who had brought them together. He then reached out and pulled the slim brunette closer into his warm embrace, in turn causing her to stir.
"Morning Bossman." Molly mumbled sleepily with her eyes still closed
"Good morning beautiful." Charles replied
Molly yawned and stretched out as far as the sofa bed they were sleeping on allowed her and then opened her dazzling green eyes to look at him
"What's on the agenda today Boss?" Molly asked sleepily
Charles grinned at her and moved his head closer to her's to meet her mouth in a kiss
"Well Miss Dawes." He said in between kisses "I need to go to Regent Street and purchase my heavenly Rosabaya and then, I have to drive to Bristol airport to collect my lovely parents, fancy coming along for the drive?"
Molly's sleepy eyes suddenly opened wide
"Meeting your parents? I'm not sure Charles… What if they hate me?" she added in an almost whisper
Charles pulled Molly closer to him
"My parents might not have met you yet but they already bloody love you. You're the one who saved the life of their much beloved, favourite son," Charles laughed "though maybe don't tell my brother that!"
Molly bit her lip and still looked unsure
"I promise you Molly, you have nothing to worry about. Besides, you worried about me meeting your parents and look how well that went!" Charles insisted, grabbing hold of Molly's hand and squeezing it
Molly closed her eyes and took in a deep breath
"Ok." She whispered
Charles grinned and began to attack Molly's neck with kisses which made her giggle.
Sometime later that day after breakfast with Molly's family, and a trip to Regent Street to stock up on coffee capsules, and a long drive to Bristol airport, Molly and Charles were awaiting the imminent arrival of Charles' parents. The arrival board showed that their plane had landed and Molly was feeling more nervous by the minute.
"Molly my love" Charles had said to his jittery girlfriend "I promise you that they're going to love you, you have absolutely nothing to be worried about."
Molly opened her mouth to answer him back when a crowd of people emerged from the closed doors in front of them. Molly was immediately able to pin point Charles' parents as his father was an absolute double of his son. Charles immediately stood up from the chairs where they were sat and waved his parents over. His mum broke out into an enormous grin and rushed over to hug her son
"Charles darling! It's so lovely to see you!" She said enveloping her son into a big hug before turning to Molly "You must be Molly." She said before bursting into tears and pulling the young brunette into her embrace "I can't thank you enough for what you've done for my son." She whispered into Molly's shoulder
Molly hugged the older woman back
"It's a pleasure to meet you Mrs. James, I…" Molly started but Charles' mum interrupted her
"Oh please, call my Penny my dear! Mrs. James was my mother in law!" Penny giggled "This is my husband Richard." Molly smiled at Charles' father who in turn smiled back "Now!" said Penny clapping her hands together "I am dying to get back home, lead the way to the car Charles!" Penny linked arms with Molly and left her son and husband to carry their bags to the car.
Once they arrived back home in Bath, Penny was immediately in the kitchen
"Just leave the cases in the hall Charles, there's a bottle of champagne in the larder that I want to open. Go and fetch the glasses Rich!"
Molly just stood in the kitchen, practically pinching herself. She had sat with Penny in the back of the car during the drive home from the airport and she couldn't believe how nice Charles' parents were and how much they appeared to like her. She felt Charles inch up behind her and wrap his arms around her waist from behind
"I'm not one to say I told you so…" He whispered into her ear
Penny watched their encounter from the other side of the kitchen and beamed to herself, she had never likes Charles' previous wife. Rebecca never really understood Charles, but she knew that Molly understood her son and for that reason made him happier than she had ever seen him, and as his mother, that was the absolute best gift that Molly could give her. She smiled as her husband poured out the champagne into glasses and handed them out to everyone in the kitchen
"I think I should propose a toast." Penny said picking up her own glass of champagne "To Molly, the woman who has saved my Charles in more ways than she could imagine."
Charles held his glass and looked at Molly, who had tears running freely down her face
"To my Molly." He responded, tipping his glass in her direction.
Later that night, when Molly and Charles were wrapped up in the comfort of Charles' bed, Molly turned to Charles
"You know, I'm nothing special. I turned to the army when I had nothing going for me in life, and in turn the army gave me everything I've ever wanted. It's turned my life around, it's even turning my parents into the parents I've always wanted." Molly whispered
"Au contraire, Molly my love," Charles replied sleepily "you are the most important person in my universe and I thank my lucky stars every day I had the honour to meet you." He kissed her "To love you…"
Molly closed her eyes and wrapped her arms around the man she loved most of all
"I'm definitely the lucky one." She replied
