Molly meeting Sam continued...
"So Molly," Charles asked as they exited the train station together, "where do you think we could get some breakfast around here? I don't know about you but I'm Hank Marvin!" he added with a laugh
Molly rolled her eyes at Charles' attempt at rhyming slang and bit her lip contemplating his question.
"Erm, there's lovely little Italian place about five minutes up the road, if that. They do a proper good breakfast. Does that sounds OK to you?" Molly asked
Charles looked at Sam who nodded eagerly
"Lead the way Dawsey!" Charles declared. Molly shook her head slightly and they commenced the walk together.
A very short time later, Molly, Charles and Sam were sat around a table at the small Italian cafe Molly had taken them to. Once they were all settled and had ordered their food Sam grabbed his new book out the carrier bag it had been sat in and began reading it to himself. Charles grinned over the table at Molly and reached out to hold her hands
"Thank you for agreeing to come with us today." He told her, looking into her eyes
Molly smiled in return
"Well you know, I couldn't miss on the chance to meet up with my favourite young man now could I Sammy?" Molly asked, giggling slightly at Charles' pretend hurt face
At the mention of his name Sam looked up and grinned at Molly.
"This is the best book ever, I can't wait to show grandma James later!" Sam exclaimed
Molly turned back to Charles with a questioning look
"Mum and dad didn't want to miss on the chance of a trip to London, mum said something about an art exhibition she wanted to see at the Tate so they're driving over. Sammy wanted to go on the train so we came down separately. We've rented an Airbnb for the weekend and the plan was to meet up with mum and dad there later and then go for dinner if that's OK?" Charles asked, squeezing her hand gently
Molly grinned.
"Of course it is, I'd never say no to the chance to get to catch up with my good friend Penny!" Molly laughed and then she clapped her hands together "Right, where are we going off to once we've done up 'ere? If you like dinosaurs Sammy we could go and see some real ones at a big museum if you wanted?" she half asked Sam and his dad at the same time. Sam's eyes shot open wide and he turned to his dad.
"Can we please do that dad?!" Sam asked eagerly
Charles smiled at his son, knowing he wouldn't be able to say no to that face.
A short time later, when they were filled up with breakfast Molly, Charles and Sam did the short walk back to Paddington station to go on the underground to the Natural History Museum. Sam was incredibly excited about the concept of going on a train that went underground and Charles had to remind him not to let go of his or Molly's hand as they didn't want to lose him in the huge crowds of people. After the gentle warning from his dad, Sam gripped tightly on Molly's hand for the rest of the journey. Something which made Molly feel incredibly happy.
Once they arrived at the museum, they immediately went to find the dinosaur section. By this point Sam could no longer contain himself and ran full speed ahead to the first exhibition piece and began to excitedly read all about dinosaurs. Molly and Charles stood back slightly, watching him as he awed over the information in front of him
"I think you have a new best friend." Charles whispered in Molly's ear "If it wasn't my son I would be incredibly jealous." He added with a laugh
Molly lightly punched Charles on the arm
"As much as I love Sammy, I only have eyes for you sir." She giggled back
Charles bent down to meet Molly's lips in a swift kiss before they were interrupted by the sound of Sam shouting "Ew dad's kissing Molly again!"
Molly laughed and held out her hand to Charles to pull him towards his son.
After an exciting morning spent at The Natural History Museum, a very quick stop for lunch and an even more exciting afternoon exploring The Science Museum, everyone was on the tube and heading for the apartment Charles and his parents were renting for the weekend. Sam, who had had a very tiring day, was sat on Molly's knee, cuddled up to her and fast asleep. Charles had been sure to snap up a couple of pictures of his two favourite people on his phone and quickly made the new picture his lock screen image.
"Will you stay we me tonight?" Charles asked Molly as he continued to look at her and his son.
Molly contemplated his question briefly
"OK, but if I do I might gonna need to find a shop near this place you're staying at. I can't wear this outfit to dinner," she said indicating to herself "and, if we're staying with your parents I'm going to need pyjamas and clean knickers!" she added in a whispered giggle
Charles laughed
"Be my guest, but make sure they're pretty knickers!" he told her as their train reached the station they would be getting off at.
After an impressively quick shopping trip, during which Molly managed to provide herself with all the essentials for a night away, including new clothes, fresh pyjamas and clean underwear, Molly was in the bedroom that she would be sleeping in getting ready to go out for dinner, Charles sat on the end of the bed watching her intently
"'ere stop gwarping at me and fasten up my dress." Molly asked her boyfriend as she moved to stand in front of him
Charles moved his hand to the small of her back and gently glided the zip up towards her neck. He then stood up, moved her dark chocolate curls to one side and planted a gentle kiss on her shoulder. Molly shivered at the contact and briefly allowed herself to melt into his embrace before their bedroom door burst open and Sam came running in
"Dad and Molly, grandma said that we need to go soon because grandad had booted a table!" The young boy exclaimed
Molly giggled slightly at his mixed up words
"That's fine Sammy, just tell Grandma James that your dad and I will be out in one second."
"Ok Molly!" Sam shouted before he'd even left the room
Molly turned to Charles and wrapped her arms around him
"You'd better finish this later." She whispered before placing a kiss of Charles' mouth and then following Sam out of the room.
Later that evening, after a delicious dinner and maybe a touch too much wine, Molly and Charles were laid together in their shared bed. Molly's head was resting on Charles' chest and she was counting his heartbeats
"I can't believe how much Sam loved you today." Charles murmured out of nowhere "I mean I knew he was going to like you. But he really really loved you."
"Must be my magnetic personality." Molly replied sleepily
"Sam may have loved you today, but my God Molly Dawes, nobody is ever going to come close to loving you the amount I do." Charles said earnestly, looking down at the woman in his arms
Molly closed her eyes and hummed with contentment
"I love you too Charles James." She replied with a whisper.
There was the rest of that day! Hope you all enjoyed, see you soon. Em xxx
