Molly had to meet Charles' brother...
Molly grinned as she caught a glimpse of her beautiful engagement ring as she drove. She would often find herself distracted by the beauty of the emerald cut diamond that now had a permanent home on the ring finger of her left hand. Now, however, was not a time to be distracted by it. She was driving to Bath to spend the weekend with Charles and his parents, his elder brother Hugh would also be visiting for the weekend so she would finally get a chance to meet him and his family. She'd heard a lot about him from his parents and knew that he lived and worked in Edinburgh, which was why she hadn't met him yet, and he had a wife who's name she didn't remember, as well as a son who was Sam's age and a newborn daughter. The familiar feeling of anxiety was beginning to creep in as she began to worry that his brother wouldn't like her. She knew that his wife had got on really well with Rebecca, so she didn't really expect her to like her.
After a long drive she pulled up outside Charles' parents house. After stopping the car she took a minute to check her appearance in the rear-view mirror and calm herself down. She was just getting out the car when the front door to the house opened and Sam came running out to greet her.
"Molly!" the small boy shouted as he hugged her "Uncle Hugh and Auntie Alice are here. They have a new baby come and meet her!" he exclaimed, taking hold of Molly's hand and pulling her in the direction of his grandparents house.
"Give her a chance to breath scamp!" came the familiar voice of Charles, who appeared behind his son and pulled his fiancée into his arms. "good drive?" he asked her gently before kissing her.
"Ewwww dad stopping kissing Molly, she wants to meet uncle Hugh and Auntie Alice and Archie and baby Harper!" Sam said indignantly, causing both adults to laugh.
"Do you think they're going to like me Sammy?" Molly asked as they walked towards the house.
"Well obviously. You are the best Molly." Sam said matter-of-factly.
Molly grinned and Charles squeezed her hand gently.
"My brother is cool," he whispered. "he's going to love you."

"Grandma!" Sam shouted "Molly is here, she is worried though that uncle Hugh isn't going to like her, so we all need to be nice!"
Molly blushed from head to toe and all the other adults in the room laughed.
"And why wouldn't I like her?" asked a man who was obviously Charles' brother, they looked so alike "it's lovely to meet you Molly." He said, greeting Molly with a hug. "it's nice to finally put a face to the name. I've heard so much about you, my little bro doesn't shut up about you!"
Molly smiled and returned the hug.
"I've heard a lot about you too, it's lovely to meet you. Congratulations on the new baby, Penny's showed me lots of photos, she's absolutely gorgeous." She replied.
"Now that's definitely all my doing!" a tall woman with gorgeous red hair said as she walked over the room to hug Molly. "I'm Alice, it's wonderful to meet you." She said "This is my son Archie," she added, indicating to a small red headed boy who was looking very intently at Molly. "Sammy has been talking about you all afternoon, so we've all been excited to meet you!"
"Molly and daddy are going to get married!" Sam said happily "They're going to have a big party and Molly said I will get to stay up late and do lots of dancing! Can Archie and Harper come to the party too?" he asked.
"Well of course!" Molly said "though it might be an expensive party if you keep inviting people!" she added with a laugh. "Last week he invited half his friends from school and the teachers!"
"Speaking of Harper, I think Molly needs a cuddle!" Hugh said walking over to Penny who was holding her newest grandchild. He gently picked up his daughter and carried her over to Molly. Molly carefully took hold of the small baby and held her close.
"Hello gorgeous girl. You are the most beautiful baby I've ever met and I've met lots of babies! I'm going to marry your uncle Charlie, so I guess one day I'm going to be your auntie Molly." She whispered.
Alice moved to stand next to Charles and smiled at the scene that was unfolding in front of her. Hugh joined his wife.
"I don't know where you found her, but don't let her go ever." Hugh told his younger brother.
"She's going to be an amazing mummy." Alice murmured "You're going to have the most beautiful children, I can't wait to be an auntie again!"
"I would like to point out that I called this, right from day one." Penny said as she joined her two sons and daughter in law. "I think there's some champagne in the fridge if you're back on the sauce Alice?"
"I need to drink to my brother in law and his beautiful fiancée! Looks like Harper is going to have a champagne milkshake tonight!" Alice giggled.

"Your Molly really is a special lady." Hugh said as he leaned against the wall in the garden of his parents house. The two brothers had gone outside to get some fresh air. "I will admit when I first heard about her from mum I thought she would just be a bit of fun for you and it wasn't going to go anywhere. But now I've met her I can see why everyone loves her so much."
"I sometimes think she's too good for me." Charles said.
"Nonsense. You two complement each other so well." His brother replied "Even Al thinks she has something about her that Rebecca never had."
"Would you believe Molls is friends with Rebecca?" Charles asked "They have girls nights and do lunch and go shopping and everything!"
Hugh laughed.
"You mean the ice queen can actually make friends?!" he said in mock surprise. "Molly is definitely a miracle worker! Hurry up and marry her quickly!!"
"She's going to be my forever." Charles whispered back "I actually know it for real this time."
Hugh smiled at his brother and patted him gently on the back, knowing what he said was the truth.

I can honestly say that this chapter didn't pan out how I'd intended it to! Alice wasn't supposed to like Molly but the character made up her own mind and told me where to take it!! Hope this little chapter was worth the wait! Next chapter is written and ready for tomorrow. See you then! Em xxx
