CHAPTER FIFTEEN
The RAW after Tamina's surprise return, the girls all sat backstage in the Diva's locker room, coming up with strategy for Kelly Kelly's match that night. She was going up against Maria, with Victoria in her corner, or so she'd been told.
Everyone knew that DEAR was full of bait-and-switches to the point they were practically overflowing, and with eight members, the match could be changed around at any time.
"So, what do you think you're gonna do?"
"I don't know." Kelly lay down across the bench and blew a stray piece of hair away from her face. Or, tried to, as she had to remove it from her lip gloss a moment later. "I'm just… hoping that I can get a win, you know? We haven't won yet, and I think if I won, that just proves we're getting closer to our goal."
Alicia smiled at her friend, before standing up and looking around the locker room. "Let's all say a quick little prayer so that Maria doesn't bust Kelly's brains."
Kelly laughed, but everyone did come together to make sure that Kelly knew what she was doing against Maria.
Kelly stood in the ring, waiting for her opponent for the night. Against the advice of her friends, she'd come out alone, with CM Punk just backstage for her.
DEAR's theme song began to play, and Kelly put her hands behind her head, interlacing her fingers as she took a deep breath and waited to see who she'd be facing.
Out walked Victoria, but instead of Maria, Candice Michelle was with her… and Candice Michelle was in gear.
God damn it…
Kelly was irritated, but wasn't completely ready to give up. She was going to stay, and she was going to fight her hardest. It was like she'd told Alicia earlier-she was going to try to win. She didn't have a strategy, but she didn't figure she'd need one… turns out that she did.
Candice got into the ring, and Victoria took a seat at commentary, putting her headset on as she sat down next to Michael Cole.
"Well, it's nice to see a new face at commentary," Lawler said, and Victoria laughed for a second as Kelly and Candice went in for the lockup.
"It's good to see some old faces come back and show the new girls who's boss."
Kelly took Candice by her hair and ran with her, hitting her with a basic bulldog as she climbed up to the top turnbuckle.
Candice stood up a second later, as Kelly jumped off of the top rope, and caught her in midair, slamming her down to the mat. Kelly grabbed her back, rolling to her side, but Candice lay her back down and pulled up one leg for an attempted pin.
Kelly kicked out just after one, throwing Candice off of her and standing up. The two of them locked up once again, Kelly pushing Candice back a few steps before Candice shoved Kelly, throwing her back and causing her to roll to the ropes.
Candice came running at Kelly, who lay down and hit the mat as Candice flew through the ropes. Victoria stood up, instantly protesting at this. The referee told Victoria to sit down or he'd have to eject her from ringside when she tried to grab Kelly a second later, but Kelly evaded her grasp. Candice took Kelly by the hair and swung her into a hair-pull backbreaker, before standing up and holding up her right arm.
She spun in a slow circle and then fell, hitting the Go-Daddy elbow, but Kelly kicked out of the pin that followed at two while Victoria's face legitimately reflected pure shock.
"Kelly Kelly just kicked out of the Go-Daddy elbow, Michael!"
"I saw, King! What do you have to say about this, Victoria?"
"Shut up, both of you, and watch the match!"
Kelly managed to get a bit of control as she slapped Candice across the face, and as she swung Candice in an Irish whip to the corner. From there, she went in for a handspring back elbow smash, hitting her opponent square across the face and leaving her in the corner, slumped down.
She motioned for the Stinkface, but Candice stood up before she could even start backing up. She took Kelly by the shoulders, spun her around, and hit her with a gut kick. From there, she spun around and hit Kelly with a Candy-wrapper, sealing the match and getting a three-count win.
The following week, Natalya and Tamina crouched down in one corner of the ring as Gail Kim and Maria got into the ring, and Victoria circling around to stand in their corner.
Tamina stood up then and nodded at Natalya, taking the match into her own hands. "I want to crush the girls who sent me out," Tamina reasoned with a laugh, before turning around to face Gail Kim with a completely seriously look on her face.
"Oh, look, if it isn't the Samoan failure." Gail pretended to cry and threw her head back with a laugh before Tamina came running at her. Gail moved out of the way and put her hands on her hips. "Oh, you big girls are all the same. Hulk smash doesn't work here, honey!" Gail grabbed Tamina by her hair before she could start running again and hit her with an elbow smash, sending her into the corner and then grabbing the top rope as she put her foot up and drove her foot into Tamina's jaw.
Tamina threw her off a minute later, but Gail tagged out, holding her leg as she did this, and getting up onto the apron as Maria held out a hand. It was a show of sportsmanship that Tamina smacked down, and Maria put up her hands.
Victoria got right back into the ring and got into Tamina's face. "Don't do that to her."
Natalya climbed in on the opposite side, and while the referee tried to get Natalya back out of the ring after getting Victoria out, Gail climbed in and hit Maria with an Eat Defeat out of nowhere before sliding back out of the ring, pretending that she was still favoring her leg.
Tamina kicked out of Maria's pin, leaving Gail in shock outside of the ring, and after getting Maria splayed out with a clothesline, she climbed to the top rope for a Superfly Splash. Victoria climbed into the ring and pulled Maria out of the way, leaving Tamina to hit the mat, and the redhead made the cover for the win.
"The taste of victory is sweet!" Gail shouted as she slid into the ring and Victoria threw Tamina into Natalya outside of the ring.
