This chapter's not so action-packed. It gives a little more look into the backstage, out-of-the-ring lives of the girls and their bodyguards. Their friendships, their love lives, et cetera.
CHAPTER SIXTEEN
Natalya and Tyson lay across Tyson's bed on Wednesday afternoon. Natalya had done an interview in the morning, talking about her relationship with the members of DEAR, the Diva's Championship, the girls who were out, and everything that she'd been dealing with in the past month.
"It's just hard, you know?"
Tyson smiled at Natalya as she looked over at him, nodding as he tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear. "Yeah, I know."
Natalya lowered her voice. "How's Justin doing?" Since Justin and Tyson had become roommates recently, she figured he might know something. "I know he took it hard at first. I mean, Nikki told us about it."
Tyson shrugged. "I don't know. He hasn't been talking much, if he talks at all. He's been ignoring everyone, focusing on work. Supposedly focusing, anyway."
"Supposedly?"
Nicole Bella stood in front of the bathroom's vanity mirror, fluffing up her curls as she turned her head side to side. She had to make sure that she looked perfect for her date with John Cena in a few minutes. "Brie! Come here for a second!"
"Little busy, Nikki!"
"Five seconds, Brie!" Nicole heard her sister groan, loudly, from the bedroom part of their hotel room, and then heard Brie get up from the bed. "If you'd pick up the pace, there wouldn't be any problem." She turned to look at her twin with a smile. "Do I look okay?"
"You look fine." Brie smiled weakly. "Can I go now?"
"I don't know what's wrong with you these days, Brie."
"I just feel sick." Brie sniffled. "I think I've got a cold."
"Go take an aspirin and lay down. Daniel's coming over, right?"
Brie did what her sister advised, and responded from her place on the bed. "Yeah, he's coming over to watch Netflix on my laptop."
"Well." Nicole grabbed her purse and put everything she'd need for the night in it-phone, charger, compact mirror, lipstick, and hotel room key. "Don't do anything I wouldn't do."
Kelly and Alicia had just finished a grueling workout in the hotel gym when Aksana came walking in, a shy smile on her face. Kelly invited Aksana up with herself and Alicia to her room to snack and watch TV, an invitation which Aksana accepted.
"I was looking for you to spend some time with you, actually."
Kelly smiled. "Well, you found us."
Girl talk ensued the moment they were inside of Kelly and Alicia's hotel room. Eve was absent, more for the reason that she was always busy being an executive than for the fact that she didn't want to be there, and Aksana figured this was a better time than any to just listen.
"So, how are you and Sheamus? I saw the two of you being all buddy-buddy at SmackDown last week, I know." Alicia laughed, and Kelly nudged her as she fixed her high ponytail. "I'm not kidding, you better tell me."
"It's nothing, Kelly. Really!" Alicia rolled her eyes as Kelly continued to nudge her, and then flailed her arms around. "Stop it, fine, I'll talk!"
"Good." Kelly laughed, laying across her back and moving her hands in the air as Aksana took a seat at the desk chair and spun it around to face the girls. "Tell me things."
"He kissed me."
"No way!" Kelly sat back up immediately, her jaw dropping open. "He kissed you?! When?! Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
Alicia laughed. "You're showing the reason I didn't tell you sooner! Yes, he kissed me. The night that you challenged Mickie James, we were backstage, and he kissed me. It's not a big deal."
"So, are you two an official couple?" Aksana asked awkwardly, and Alicia smiled, nodding. "That's a good thing, I suppose."
"Speaking of official couples, how are you and Goldust? How's the dating thing working out?"
Aksana shrugged. "It's not, really. He's focusing on getting his last few years in, and I'm focusing on starting out my own career. But…" She took a deep breath, and looked at Kelly. "I'm going to go back. To Lithuania."
Kelly and Alicia frowned, but only Kelly spoke. "Why are you leaving?"
"DEAR hasn't bothered to challenge me for a reason. I'm rather awful, and they don't even find me worth their time. I'm going to visit my family, before I continue my career. I wish you all luck." Aksana stood then, holding her arms open for a hug. "I'm leaving this Saturday, and I won't be back until September."
"That's months!" Kelly protested, standing up regardless to hug her friend. "I'm going to miss you. Do you at least promise to write me?"
"I'll write if I can." Aksana smiled. "Goodbye, Kelly."
Ashley was walking down the street, carrying a Starbucks coffee in one hand and a bag from them in the other. She turned to enter the hotel lobby when she slammed into someone, her hand instantly covering her coffee to save at least some of it after it had spilled not only on her, but on whoever she'd had a run-in with.
"Jesus Christ!"
"Well, maybe you should've been watching where you were going."
Instantly, Ashley's mood rose, and she smiled brightly, trying to do this seductively on top of that. "Hey there."
"Yeah, hi. Listen, I've got places to go, and-"
"Don't worry about it, Edge. I've got a place for us to go."
"Ashley, I'm not interested." Edge tried to move around her, but Ashley continued to step in his way, until he slammed his hand down over her coffee and took it away from her. "Listen. I'm not going to be sleeping with you, ever. I'm not interested in seeing you, dating you, or having sex with you. Are we clear?"
"Crystal." Ashley smirked, holding out her hand. "I understand that you just aren't ready to handle a woman like me yet."
"How about never." Edge shoved the coffee back in her direction angrily before storming out of the hotel's lobby.
Tamina sat down with her family, Jimmy and Jey Uso, eating lunch.
"I'm getting really sick of these DEAR girls." Tamina shook her head and then took a drink of her iced tea. "I mean, who do they think they are?"
"The original Divas." Jimmy responded, shrugging and putting his sunglasses on the top of his head. "I mean, it's what they are, and they haven't claimed to be anything else. I'll at least give them credit for that much, you know?"
Jey looked at his twin brother and then laughed, turning to Tamina. "Don't listen to Jimmy. He's an idiot."
"Yeah, I know." Tamina smirked, grabbing an ice cube from her drink and tossing it at Jimmy. "Jerk."
Jimmy laughed, despite pretending to be angry. "How could you, Tamina? This is a brand new shirt!"
"Yeah, from Target. You can get a new one."
