Synopsis: Hibari Kyoya died killing her famigila's enemies. She was proud of the fact that she managed to protect her comrades and live up to her title as the "Strongest Guardian." Her pulse stopped and she knew she had died. One thing she wasn't expecting was it to start beating again. Her first thought when she awakened was, "Kamikorosu."

Hibari Kyoya walked into the Nura Clan compound looking cool and graceful as ever. Her steps were silent and her graceful movements made her feline grace even more prominent. She showed small nods of acknowledgement to those she passed by but made no effort to engage with them in small talk.

They stared at her as she walked, however, she paid no heed to it. There were more important matters in hand after all.

In no questionable time, she finally arrived in front of the innermost clan house.

Two yokai servants suddenly appeared and pulled open the doors for her. She gave them no more than a cursory glance as she entered. Inside, she found herself slightly surprised by the appearance of the second generation and current head of the clan.

"Second Gen-Carnivore," she muttered as she kneeled in her usual spot in the room, which was right beside the grandson of Nurarihyon's seat. She grabbed the cup of tea that had just been served at her table and blew away softly the steam that enveloped the surface of the liquid. A small closed smile formed on her face after taking a sip of the delicious tea before promptly disappearing as soon as she had placed her attention towards the two generation heads.

(It was apparent by now that her herbivore fiance was missing from the meeting.)

"Geez, what is with this uncute daughter-in-law of mine?" Nura Rihan, the newly titled "Second Gen-Carnivore", complained. "Calling me by such a nickname..."

"Hmph!" Nurarihyon huffed. "At least it has some variety! She hasn't stopped calling me 'Carnivore' since the first time I beat her. It hadn't changed even when I beat her the following times." He suddenly pouted. "When I wanted her to call me grandpa too..." A single fake tear slid from his eye.

Kyoya stared at them silently from her seat.

(Were these two really the same carnivores that beat her several times...from before?)

Kyoya placed down her now empty tea cup at the side and took out a folder hidden within her kimono sleeve. She then proceeded to throw it towards them like a hidden weapon, with no particular target between the two of them. They dodged it with ease while still bantering with each other.

(However, Rihan managed to grab the folder before it could damage the shoji door behind them.)

"This is...?" The second-generation carnivore trailed off as he pulled out the files from inside the envelope.

"Reports regarding the problematic Kyuso clan." Kyoya said as she sat still, her eyes trained on him the whole time.

(Flashes of what had happened to him appeared briefly in her mind before she dismissed it without a thought. Now was not the time.)

"I have already taken action against them. They will no longer be a problem to the peace of Ukiyoe Town." She explained.

"Wait, I know that we have entered into an alliance thanks to this old man of mine, but why did you not consult with me first?" The male hanyou yokai asked, a bit insulted by her seemingly lack of respect towards him as the second head of the clan.

"You were in a coma and still in need of recovery." Kyoya said bluntly.

"But - !" He tried to interrupt.

"Besides, I did not know if you would live and you were still unconscious by then. Why would I consult with someone whom I could not speak with in the first place?" She continued on, interrupting him. "I did not want to speak with the carnivore either and decided to simply take action against them myself."

Rihan felt like he had been stabbed her words.

He felt like coughing out blood.

The old and wizened Nurarihyon finally decided to speak up.

"Kyoya-chan's right, Rihan." He said as he took a sip of his tea. "Don't think of it as her going against your leadership. Think of instead as her doing you a favor. With the Kyuso clan no longer a problem, we can focus onto more important matters regarding the clan...like Kyoya-chan's marriage."

Kyoya nearly spat out her tea with the old man's words.

"Carnivore, we are neither of age yet." She told him warningly, her cat ears and two tails popping out together as her annoyance slowly rose. "Besides, those are not the important matters that we should focus on. It should be about the child who nearly ended your life, Second Gen-Carnivore."
