A/N Well, another new chapter; it seems not to have taken me as long as the last two. That is something that I'm thankful for as well now, and this has a significant change to canon. What is this change well? That is what you will have to wait and see, as I'm not particularly eager to ruin it all for you readers. Still, I hope you all like the change that I have made.

Chapter 12 Here Come the Squirtle Squad
It had been an eventful day for Ash and his friends: they had managed to save a Charmander that his trainer had abandoned, and the Fire-type Pokémon had joined Ash's team of his own accord. Moreover, training was going well overall, and Naruto, Ash, and Sakura were confident that the upcoming Gym Battle at Vermillion City would be a roaring success.
Ash and his friends marched proudly towards the town. Finally, they were at long last returning to civilization after being in that forest for so long. That joy couldn't last for very long, though. Since as they were walking, Ash's foot crashed through the ground.
"Owwww… whose great idea was it, to dig a big hole in the ground and right in the middle of the road?" Misty asked, rubbing her sore back. "I'm sure it's those three Team Rocket buffoons again! I'm gonna give them a piece of my mind when I see them!"
Sakura just nodded at what Misty said as she and Naruto both got on their knees so they could help their friends out. "Yeah, and now we know that their whole group knows what Naruto and I can do," Sakura said with fear evident in her voice; she and Naruto knew they could handle them, but it was their friends who were in more danger.
Yet, for now, Naruto and Sakura knew they needed to get their friends out of the hole they found themselves in before something else happened. "Here grab my hand Misty," Sakura said as she and Naruto moved closer to the hole.
"We so need to be trained by you and Naruto after this Sakura, as failing into holes all the time is really starting to get so old." Misty said as she was about to reach and grab hold of Sakura's hand.
Sakura couldn't help but giggle slightly at this and looked at Naruto, both wondering if they should train their three friends. After all, this may help them considerably in the future. "Well, Misty, we'll come to that later," Sakura told her friend with a smile as the pink-haired girl knew Misty also had a good point; it would be a good idea to train them.
However, just as Misty grabbed Sakura's hand, she and Naruto were pushed into the hole, making them land on each other and even cry from the shock. But this was mainly to the shock of them getting pushed into the hole. "Alright, who did that?" Naruto yelled out in a very frustrated tone.
'Look, there's somebody up there!' Pikachu stated, pointing to the border of the hole and seeing, much to his surprise, a Squirtle wearing pointed sunglasses, who's looking at them in curiosity and wonder.
"Huh? Is that a Squirtle?" wondered Ash in disbelief; the Squirtle in question wasn't alone as four more Squirtles began to look down on them, each wearing rounded sunglasses. "I guess I'll take that as a yes," Ash said, frowning since the five Squirtles found it amusing that the group fell into their hole and then moved away. With an annoyed look on his angry face, Ash climbed out of the ditch. "You think that's funny? Dangerous practical jokes are nothing to laugh about!"
Ash turned around to see that the Squirtle had surrounded him. He got out his Pokédex to scan them. "Squirtle, this Tiny Turtle Pokémon draws its long neck into its shell to launch incredible water attacks with amazing range and accuracy. The blasts can be quite powerful." The Pokédex said as it scanned the five for information.
The Squirtles all found themselves laughing again at this. Of course, the raven-haired trainer had a good feeling that he could catch one of them, and he currently has two Pokémon with a Type Advantage over them. "Alright, if that's the way you want it... Pikachu hit one for them with Thundershock," he ordered his Electric Mouse, causing the Squirtles to stop laughing when Pikachu let out an electric charge that came towards the leader, only for one for the other Squirtles to take the hit instead, knocking it out.
'You're going to pay for this!' snapped the Squirtle leader, glaring at Pikachu, and the two Pokémon were waiting to see who would make a move first like they were in some western shootout.
'Well, well, would you look who it is?' The five Squirtles then looked over to where the voices were coming from as they turned around. Even the three trainers and the two ninjas looked back to see what was happening.
Standing where the hole was were five other Pokémon, and from the far left was a Slowpoke, followed by Wooper, then a Poliwag and a Lotad were to the right side, and in the middle was a Buizel who was looking right at the leader of the Squirtle's. 'I see you tried to pull that little prank again, am I right?' The Buizel said with a smirk forming on his face as he looked at the Squirtle.
'So what if we did just harmless fun after all, and look none of them are even hurt either.' Squirtle said to Buizel.
Naruto just looked at the five new Pokémon as he looked over to Misty, Brock, and Ash, wondering if they knew about the Pokémon in front of them. "So, have any of you ever seen Pokémon like that?" Naruto asked as he got out his Pokédex to get some information on the five.
Misty couldn't help but shack her head at Naruto. "No three of them I've never even seen before. The other two I know are a Poliwag and Slowpoke," Misty said as she tried to wonder what the other three Pokémon were.
"So that means they are Pokémon we have never seen then," Sakura said as she took out her Pokédex to at least try to get info on them, hoping to learn more about them.
Sakura soon pointed her Pokédex at them. "There is no data, some Pokémon have yet to be discovered," The Pokédex said as the five humans all looked at each other and then the two Pokémon that were native to their region.
"Well, that just sticks," Naruto answered with a frown as he looked at the three unknown Pokémon. "But I've got to say; it's also cool. I mean, who knows what they can do," Naruto said with an excited smile as his blue eyes looked towards the three Pokémon, but it was mainly on Buizel.
Hearing this, Sakura and Misty, as the two girls, laughed lightly at Naruto but knew he was right none of them knew what the three Pokémon could do, and all five humans wanted to find out what being a Pokémon trainer was about after all.
The two leaders looked at each other as they frowned at each other with distrust for some time. Naruto could see each one ready to attack the other since even the other Pokémon were getting ready to go on the attack.
And Naruto looked at the two Pokémon, and he knew the look that both were giving off to the other. "There both rivals, I mean, just look at them," Naruto said as his four friends looked at him and then at the two Pokémon.
"Naruto's right. I mean, I think there is more going on here than we know," Sakura said, looking at the two leaders of the two groups of Pokémon.
The two groups of Pokémon continued to look at each other while Naruto and the others looked at both leaders and knew that they were going to attack soon; however, it wasn't to be when they heard a police siren from out of nowhere. 'We'll settle this some other time Buizel, boys let's get out of here!'
The others complied with their leader, quickly picking up their incapacitated ally, and fled the scene before Ash and co could even try to stop them.
The Buizel quickly looked to his friends as he knew they too had to be going, and the last thing he wanted was to get captured. 'Okay we better go too we'll see you humans another time just be sure to stay out of our way.' Buizel said, looking at the five humans with a deep scowl on his face before they, too, ran off in the other direction that the Squirtle had gone.
Ash looked at said Pokémon and was a little taken aback by this. "Okay, that was weird..." said the younger male, a bit confused by what happened, and looked over to Naruto, who was now smiling.
Even Sakura noticed the smile that was forming on her friend's face. Heck, she saw Misty was smiling as well while Brock was in deep thought over what was going on with both groups of Pokémon. "So I take it that you both want to capture one of them I take it?" Sakura asked as she smiled at her friends.
Misty couldn't help but smile at what her female had said. "Oh, you bet Sakura I mean I just love water Pokémon after all," she spoke with awe in her voice as she held both her hands together and continued to smile.
Soon a motorbike arrived at the scene and riding it was none other than Officer Jenny herself, though she saw that she was too late to help. "Are you guys alright? Is anyone hurt?" she asked the trainers, wanting to see if there weren't any grave injuries to the group, and was thankful she didn't see any.
"Officer Jenny!" Ash was more than glad to see the officer, despite the strange look on her face when he recognized her.
"Huh? Have we met before?" She asked, simple as she looked at the five young trainers.
Ash remained silent for a moment. He found it strange that they would see Officer Jenny at Cerulean City and Viridian City. How she doesn't recognize them is hard to believe unless this was a different Jenny altogether. "We met someone who looks like you back at Cerulean City and also first met you back in Viridian City as well."
"Oh... you mean one of the other Jenny's," she said, understanding what he was talking about since it had been a bit weird for them to know her despite having just met. "She's one of my relatives, we all look identical, and we are police officers after all."
"You're kidding!" exclaimed Sakura in surprise, to which Jenny shook her head to confirm that she was quite earnest though she gave them a bright smile as she showed them a photo of her family. "Wow..." Sakura said in shock as she looked at the photo a lot closer. "How can saw many Jenny's all look alike?"
"Well I've got to say, talk about a family resemblance." said Ash, a bit amazed by this revelation.
Misty nodded before speaking up, shocked at how all the Jennys looked the same. "At least they remember all their names," Misty added, still shocked when finding this out.
They then saw Brock getting close to the officer with love-struck eyes, similar to when they met Melanie back at the hidden Pokémon village, causing the red-haired girl to groan in annoyance. "Great, here we go again..." Misty said as she rubbed her head at this.
Sakura nodded as she looked at the older boy she was friends with, seeing how crazy Brock gets around pretty girls. "He did the same thing back with me when we first met at his Gym," Sakura said with a whisper in her voice.
Misty huffed at this as she crossed her arms over her chest, while she may not have been there the first time. But when she went with her friends the second time, she discovered what Naruto could do.
"Oh, my fair Jenny…." Brock said to the surprised blue-haired officer, who blinked as he gently took her hand. "I can say, from the deepest of my heart, that you are the most beautiful Jenny I have ever had the good fortune of laying my eyes upon. Would you do me the honour of going on a date with you?"
"Sorry, pal… I'm not the kind of girl who flirts back on duty," Officer Jenny answered, to which Brock sighed and looked down.
For her part, Sakura shook her head. "Seriously… how does he tell them apart?" she asked as she looked at Naruto.
"For once even I'd rather not ask that one Sakura chan…." Naruto answered as he looked at her. "But more to the point, there is something we would like to ask you Officer Jenny?"
"Sure thing but once we're back at the station." Jenny said as she took the five back to the station.
"Officer Jenny… before you came to help us, we were attacked by a bunch of Squirtles who seemed responsible for digging that hole. Do you happen to know anything more about them?" Sakura said as she wondered just what the other group of Pokémon were.
Remember, this was something that Naruto decided to ask himself. "Not only that we saw another group of Pokémon as well. We were wondering if you knew anything about them. Since one of them seems to have a rivalry with the Squirtle's I think their learder so do you know anything about that as well."
Jenny nodded as she gave a deep sigh knowing of the other group of Pokémon that Naruto was talking about before telling them. "Of course I do I'll start off with the first group. Those guys are the Squirtle Squad… they're a group of Squirtles who were abandoned by their trainers, and now they just hang around here, running wild and playing pranks on trainers that pass by here." She explained. "To be fair, they've never really hurt anybody, but several people have complained about them and asked that we do something to remove them."
"Abandoned?" Ash asked as he soon remembered what Damian had done to Charmander, which still made him angry.
"Yes, a large part of the Squirtle Squad is composed of Squirtles that were abandoned by their trainers. Their leader is a wild Squirtle, and they take in any Squirtle, but most were abandoned by their trainers," Officer Jenny replied, shuffling some paperwork around. "That's why they're delinquents. If they had trainers who cared for them..."
Sakura just tightened her fists at this and looked at Jenny. "But instead all they got was scum," Sakura spat with anger in her voice. "Why, do trainers have to do that to their Pokémon, I mean..."
Officer Jenny looked over to Sakura and nodded at what Sakura said, knowing how hard it was for a young trainer to hear this kind of thing happening to Pokemon. "I know that it's hard, but there are trainers who are just like this in the world and more often they get rid of Pokémon the feel are weak and not worthy."
Hearing this couldn't help but make the two ninjas frown at this. After all, Naruto knew ninjas saw him like this as he had a feeling deep in his heart that the ones who saw him as weak and a failure would be happy he got killed on missions. "But I still want to show that they have all been wrong about me."
Sakura began feeling the same after all; she was from a family with no bloodlines, which was now heavy on her mind that even here, people saw some Pokémon as weak and not worth their time.
"Sakura..." Misty said she looked at her friend with concern as she saw the anger and sadness on Sakura's face.
However, before Sakura could answer, Misty, only now seeing her friend worried, Officer Jenney, spoke again. "As for the other group of Pokémon, well, you see, they have a rivalry with the Squirtle Squad. But it never gets too out of control or near anyone that they would get hurt."
The five youngsters just let out a sigh of relief at hearing this. "More so with both the leaders, while it's true both don't get alone all that well with each other they. When a child is in danger both leaders would do all they can to save it."
Naruto just smiled at this, knowing that at least they would help an innocent life. "Well at least it shows they don't want to harm anyone, as it seems like the other leader like to put on a tough act."
"I understand…" Misty answered as she did her best to smile and looked at her friends, who smiled back at Jenny, knowing she was doing what she could. "But I guess you haven't had much success until now, have you?"
"As you can plainly see… no, we didn't. Those little guys are quite cunning, and they never let us catch them off guard." Officer Jenny answered. "Anyway, I would just advise you to get away from this place as soon as you can, if you don't want to be targeted again."
"Okay…" Ash answered with a sigh. However, he wasn't the kind of person to walk away as if nothing had happened, and he was already thinking of how to solve the problem himself. "Well then… thank you for your help, Officer Jenny! We'll be on our way shortly."
"Plus, we kind of need a place to train our Pokémon, and we won't be able to do that if we have these Squirtle's bothering us," Naruto added; with that said, the five all left Jenney to get on with her work.
However, Pikachu knew better and realized that Ash and the others would do something about the Squirtle Squad and this other group of Pokémon.
They had been abandoned by their trainers, making them not like humans. Ash just knew that they weren't bad; they were just upset. If he and the other just showed them how good humans were, they could become good Pokemon again.
Unfortunately, they had no way of knowing where the Pokemon were, so hoping they might get lucky. They went to the side of a gentle river. Misty had explained that since they were water Pokémon, the Squirtle was most likely to appear by the river. Ash had believed her, too, until she got out a fishing rod and started talking about a picnic they were having.
Ash didn't argue, though instead of taking a nap while she fished, Brock prepared their food. Misty was happy about this as she continued fishing, hoping to catch a new friend for her team. Finally, something appeared. It was a blue ball, by the looks of it. She assumed it was just someone's toy that fell in the river.
That is until it turned around.
When it turned around, Misty could see the sunglasses on the Pokémon, sunglasses that could mean only one thing. It was part of the Squirtle squad. "Ash, I found one of them," she turned as she looked over to Ash, waking him up.
The others all looked over to the Squirtle to Ash, and he wondered why it was suddenly here out of all places. On the other hand, the Squirtle quickly fired a Water Gun attack, which soaked Ash and the others before they could have time to react, and then started laughing at this.
"Oh, I'm soaked!" Misty cried out in utter shock as she and her friends were now thoroughly soaked in the water Squirtle had used on all of them.
"Yeah, me too Mist," Ash said as Pikachu shook off the water from his fur.
Pikachu wasn't too happy about this and prepared to use a Thundershock attack on the Tiny Turtle However, this also shocked Ash and the others.
"Wet clothes conduct electricity." Brock said as all five had fallen to the ground from the pain that they had felt.
"Wish you had said that sooner Brock." Sakura said as the sparks from Pikachu's attacks still went round the five in a comedic fashion.
The Squirtle, who had been in the water, jumped up on the shore but gave a light laugh as he looked at the five humans.
"What's it doing?" Naruto inquired.
"I think it wants to battle!" Misty pointed out as she saw the little Pokémon smiling at them.
"Well I hope it's ready as I'm tired of all the pranks that he keeps pulling on us." Sakura added as she looked at the little blue Pokémon with a frown on her face, but all it did was laugh lightly at her and the others.
"Hmph I'm with Sakura on this!" Ash declared, turning his hat aside. "If that's the case, who am I to refuse a Pokémon battle? Go, Pikachu, I choose you!"
Pikachu leaped forward, but the Squirtle, obviously not wanting to compete with its Electric attacks, retreated into its shell while it spun towards Pikachu, slamming it into the river.
Once Pikachu was in the water, the five soon spotted a Golden who started heading towards Pikachu. "Oh no, this is not good, guys..." Misty began to see that Pikachu was in danger now, thanks to what she knew of Golden. "Pikachu needs to get out of the water, Ash, before he gets hit by that horn!" Misty said with fright in her voice.
Ash nodded as he looked at Pikachu, who was starting to swim back to the shore, but unfortunately, Pikachu was not very fast. "Pikachu, you need to hurry and swim to the shore!" Ash yelled with fear in his voice.
However, the wild Golden was much faster, much to the other's horror, as before Pikachu could reach the safety of the shore. Sadly for Pikachu, he was hit by Golden's powerful Horn Attack, with everyone crying out for Pikachu. Sending the Electric-type flopping back onto the dry riverbank, gasping and gasping for breath at the hit it had just endured.
"No Pikachu!" Ash cried as he moved forward to help his fallen friend while Naruto was about to battle with the Squirtle.
Unfortunately, he didn't finish what he was going to say as several ropes appeared from out of nowhere and tied up him and his friends.
The other members of the Squirtle Squad laughed as they pulled the humans towards them. "They got us." Ash said as he and the others were tied up even more.
While off to the side, Meowth stepped from behind a tree as he looked at all five humans and laughed, feeling delighted he had got all five without any trouble. "You're not gonna Squirtle out of this one!"
Meowth soon looked at the two ninjas with a smile on his face. "Well it seems that you can't seem to sense us Pokémon." Meowth said it was a light laugh looking at Naruto and Sakura. "Now don't either of you think of trying anything okay."
With that said, Meowth and the Squirtle Squad took the humans away, and they were unaware that they had been discreetly and unknowingly to both Mewoth and the Squirtle Squad watching the event had played out before their eyes. 'Well, it seems that the humans have been captured then.' Buizel said with a light frown knowing that the cat was lying.
'From the looks of it they are now working for Team Rocket,' Poliwag said to her leader as she began to wonder what they should do about this.
Lotad was thinking the same thing as well and looked towards Buizel. 'So what do want us to do then?'
'Knowing Team Rocket they have something planned for them but it's up to you as our leader at what we will do next,' Whooper said, knowing that it was Buizel choice if they should go after the humans.
Buizel just closed his eyes as he soon thought about what he should be doing. The last thing they needed was Team Rocket, and looking at the four other members of his group Buizel knew that he needed to keep them safe. He was their leader, after all, and he wanted no harm to happen to the five.
He soon looked at the four Pokémon and looked over to where the humans and the Pikachu had just been a short while before being taken away by that Meowth and the Squirtle Squad. 'For now, we shall watch them and see what will happen,' he told the four as they nodded and followed their leader. 'This may be a trick after all.'
After Pikachu was quickly placed into a caged, the five humans were taken to a cave by the Squirtle, led by Meowth. Ash was shocked when he saw this. He had honestly thought they weren't honestly that bad, yet here they were working with Team Rocket.
What made it worse was the realization that it was his thought they were all captured. They would be long gone if he hadn't been so adamant about helping the Squirtle squad. "He-he-he, I'm the Pokémon in charge here. Just you wait, soon my human pets get back," Meowth said lightly, prodding Ash with his tail.
"Squirtle, don't believe him. Those humans aren't his pets there, Team Rocket," Ash said, hoping for the Squirtle to understand. Fortunately, the leader seemed to understand slightly as he lightly tilted his head at Ash, wondering if it was true. "They're tricking you into doing their work for them."
Unfortunately for Ash, Meowth was not letting this go on much further. "Quiet human!" he jumped up, delivering a powerful scratch attack to Ash's face. "Who you goanna believe, this human or a fellow Pokémon."
Brock ignored this as he looked at Pikachu. The small yellow mouse was in its cage, breathing heavily and covered in bruises "Ash Pikachu's in bad shape, we've got to get a super potion fast. A shop in town sells it."
"What you mean we don't have any left!" Ash cried now, feeling truly helpless as Brock shook his head in resignation, but he was not going to give up just like that, he knew he couldn't, so Ash soon looked at the leader. "Squirtle Squad please, you have to let me go get the medicine for Pikachu."
Soon the Squirtle yelled, looking at Meowth, who translated for them. "They know you humans can't be trusted, as soon as your free you'll just run away."
"No I won't, you can keep me here for as long as you want as long as Pikachu gets the super potion I promise," Ash looked at them, trying to see through the glasses to know if they felt any sympathy for him.
The small blue Pokémon noticed the tears in Ash's eyes and turned to see that Pikachu still looked quite injured. Finally, he relented and freed Ash. 'Alright then I'll do it, but if not,' he said with a cheeky smile and looked at Meowth and whispered in his ear.
"They say that if you're not back by noon tomorrow the red head's getting her hair dyed purple," Misty's eyes went wide with panic. "And the pink hair girl, well let's just say we will shave all her hair off."
"What purple? Why you mangy little flea trap when I get out of this I'm going to warp your tail right around your neck!" Misty yelled with anger in her voice as she did her best to kick Meowth along with Sakura, who was just as angry as Misty was at what they were going to do with their hair.
"Misty's right you so much has even come close to my hair Meowth I promise you'll be in a world of pain!" Sakura yelled, knowing if not for the ropes that currently had her tied up right now, she would help Misty. "If I could use my Kunai I would cut of your tail and then chock you with it!" Sakura yelled with anger in her voice.
Ash could see both of his female friends were getting frustrated. "Don't worry I'll be back Misty," Misty nodded but still looked worried and looked over to Sakura. "Same with you Sakura, I'll be back before you guys even know it."
Ash turned and ran as fast as he could, he had to be fast and get to town quickly, yet none noticed the hidden smile that Meowth had on his face as Ash left. "Even if that kid does make it back in time we'll all be long gone."
On the other hand, Misty and the other looked at Ash as soon as he was gone. "Good luck Ash," Misty said with a light whisper in her voice.
Meowth smiled as he looked over at Naruto and Sakura; the two ninjas looked at the talking cat with a frown. "Yeah, and what are you looking at!" Naruto growled at the cat as he looked over where his and Sakura's Kunais were resting on a rock.
"I can't believe we still got captured like this, Naruto," Sakura said with a sigh as she looked at Naruto. "I know Kakashi would tell us we have not been training enough."
Naruto nodded at this but just smiled. "That may be true but we are still both Genin after all Sakura."
"I know but remember what Meowth said we can't sense Pokémon," Naruto added, but he had a bad feeling that with the more powerful Pokémon, they could, such as legendary Pokémon.
Meowth only laughed as he heard Naruto say this. "Well that is a weakness that we shall be sure to use on ya."
Sakura just looked at Meowth and scowled at the cat. "Yeah, by getting innocent Pokémon to do your dirty work Meowth since we've beaten you since we first meet you back in Viridian City."
A little later, night soon arrived, and everyone was worried about Ash feeling that something had happened to him. "Where's Ash? I thought he would have been back by now," Misty said with concern as she looked over at Pikachu.
Pikachu was still breathing deeply, which made them all concerned for the vulnerable Pokémon. "You need to hang on just a little longer Pikachu I know Ash is coming with the super potion."
However, Naruto knew that he should try to talk to the Squirtle since he and Sakura knew Meowth would be up to no good, and maybe he could speak to the Squirtle about letting them go.
Naruto looked at Meowth and saw that he was busy and saw that this was his chance and turned his head towards Sakura. "Hey Sakura I'm going to try and talk them of what Meowth has told them."
Sakura nodded as Meowth looked outside the cave. Sakura couldn't help but frown deeply at this. "Good idea Naruto but better make it fast. I mean, who knows what can be taking Ash so long," Sakura said as she whispered, making and hoping that Meowth didn't hear them.
With a node, Naruto looked at the Squirtle. "Look Squirtle I know that you may not trust me, but me and the other only wanted to help you," Naruto said with a whisper.
"Naruto's right not all humans are like that Squirtle, please you've got to trust us when we say Team Rocket are bad news," Sakura said as she looked at the five Pokémon, hoping that they would understand.
The Squirtles, on the other hand, just looked at him, but they were sure they would never trust a human. 'Sure we don't not after what they have done to us, why would we, you humans would, just abandon any Pokémon that you feel is weak and not worth your time,' One Squirtle said as he crossed his arms, looking away from the humans.
The leader of the Squirtle nodded at this. 'It's the same with our rivals too they like us were left by their trainers, while we don't get alone with Buizel and his group,' He began and looked at Naruto, trying to work out the young human. 'But all human are the same they use us and mistreat us, it's already happened to Buizel's gang.'
Meanwhile, just outside the cave, Buizel and his gang had arrived. However, they had all decided and agreed not to get involved just now and listened to what the kid with blond hair was saying, but what got the orange Pokémon from Sinnoh was what he had heard Squirtle had said.
He knew the member he was talking about, and it was an old friend who was part of the group. That was until that trainer came along and took his good friend away.
Even the other members of the group looked down. Each one remembered that day all too well. 'I hope that Shellos is okay,' Lotad said as he frowned at what had happened. 'That trainer with the purple hair didn't seem too nice to me,' Lotad said as she could remember the cold blue eyes.
Buizel nodded as he closed his eyes; he remembered that day too well. It was the day they had lost a good friend, and Buizel knew his friend would not have it easy from the trainer's cold eyes.
Flashback Five weeks ago
'Well, my friends, it's another day,' Buizel said as he and his friends continued walking; the five were joking around.
A little blue Shellos nodded at his leader and smiled. 'Yeah, and what's best of all we've not once encountered the Squirtle squid today that's a plus at least.'
Buizel nodded but was sure to keep an eye out for the five Squirtles, knowing they would jump out or at least try to pull a prank on them. True, they were all harmless fun at Buizel; however, he was a fighter who liked to battle, not pull some pranks well unless it came to the humans, but only mean ones.
As the group laughed, they were soon quickly stopped as they spotted a human that was blocking their path to their destination, and that was something that Buizel didn't take a liking to at all, and being the leader that he was, he decided to walk up to the human then find out what he wants.
The human in question looked over at Buizel with a hard and stern look and then at the other Pokémon in the group. It was the way he looked at them that Buizel didn't like. At the same time, the Pokémon all looked at him and noticed the purple hair and the cold stare he gave them.
"Well you look strong, and just what I need," The human said as he looked down at Buizel. "Alright Turtwig stand by for battle," With that said, the trainer throws his Pokéball into the air as a white flash soon happens.
Out from the Poké Ball came small, light green, quadruped Pokémon resembling a turtle. Its eyes, feet, and lower jaw were yellow. Its body was also half covered by a brown shell composed of earth. The shell has a thick black stripe and a black rim.
Buizel stood his ground as the trainer in question just looked at him with no expression on his face. 'I will not be captured by some human.'
Yet again, the trainer said nothing as he looked down at Turtwig. "You know what to do and you better not lose," He said coldly.
'Yes, master Paul,' That was all the grass, Pokémon said as he was ready to battle. All he needed to do was wait for his master to give the order.
"Alright Turtwig use Razor Leaf now!" The trainer, known as Paul, yelled as he outstretched his arm.
Buizel sees the incoming attack while dodging the attacks, looking up at the trainer called Paul with a glare, but Paul looks back, not showing much emotion to the Pokémon.
'Buizel are you alright!' Shellos said with concern, and he knew that they were not the best when it came to fighting grass-type Pokémon.
Buizel just gave a quick nod and looked at his friends. 'I'll be fine, look, I need to make sure you're all ready to run. I don't like the look of this human,' Buizel said, looking at Paul and then Turtwig.
"Turtwig, use Tackle. I don't want it getting away!" Paul yelled with rage as he saw Buizel looking away before getting tackled into a tree with a hard smack.
Buizel grunted in pain, looking at the human trainer as Paul smiled cruelly at this feeling of pride that soon he would get a new tool. "Good, Turtwig, now don't stop!" Paul said as he watched Buizel soon stand up and shake the pain away.
Buizel soon went on the attack with a growl as he used Aqua Jet on Turtwig, but this was a losing battle, and Buizel knew that as Turtwig just braced itself with the attack taking it head-on. 'You all need to run this is a battle that I may not be able to win and I won't let this human take you all.'
"Impressive, you should be good and useful," Paul said as he looked at Turtwig again and nodded as the grass Pokémon used Tackle once more.
Buizel just let out an angry growl as he watched Paul pull out a Poké Ball Buizel merely looked at his friends and gave a weak smile. 'Run, my friends.'
However, the five Pokemon shook their heads as they stepped in front of their leader to keep him safe from being captured by this human, all five could see just how cruel this human was, and none of them liked it. 'We won't let you capture him.'
Paul, however, only smirked and looked at Turtwig. "Knock them all away Turtwig," Paul ordered his Pokémon as he frowned.
Four of the five Pokémon were then quickly sent flying into some trees; however, Shellos was not as he had managed to dodge the attack and looked at the two with a glare. 'I will not give up,' Shellos cried out in determination not to give up or let his leader get captured by this vial human as he fired the most powerful attack; he could at Turtwig Muddy Water and then proceeded to use Body Slam on Turtwig.
Yet Paul merely watched this with interest as he watched the Blue Shellos battle his Turtwig. "Turtwig, end this right now with Energy Ball!" Paul yelled to his Pokémon as Turtwig gave a weak node and stood to his feet.
Soon the leaves on Turtwig's head start to glow light green, and it forms a green energy ball in front of its mouth. It then fires it at the opponent. The ball then exploded when it hit Shellos, who had been severely hurt, as he did his best to stand.
However, Paul smirked as he took out an empty Poké Ball and soon threw it over to the weak Shellos. All Buizel could do was look over to Shellos as the Pokémon soon captured, causing Paul to smirk as he looked at his newly caught Pokémon.
The others all helped Buizel up as they knew there was not much they could do, and their leader was hurt and needed saving before he ended up with the same fate.
And they all saw their chance as Paul began to analyze the Pokémon he had caught, trying to see if it was worthwhile. "I have to admit it seems like you're going to be useful to me," He said as he looked at the newly caught Pokémon.
'Master the others have gotten away, shall we go after them?' Turtwig asked his trainer, who was saying nothing, only reaming silent at this.
"No the others are all weak and would only be useless to me," Paul said as he placed his hand in his pockets. "We're going have no more need to stay here anyway." He said as he began to walk away with Turtwig, nodding and following his trainer.
End Flashback
Buizel soon opened his eyes and shook the memory away as he wanted to hear more about what this human had to say. 'I have to admit they are not that bad,' he said as a few nodded at him, while Buizel looked into the cave as he looked right at Naruto.
'That is what happened a rude trained captured Buizel's, and as we were told he had purple hair and cold eyes,' The leader said and looked at the humans. 'That's why we won't trust you.'
The others were shocked at hearing this story, and all looked at each other, while Naruto frowned as he heard about this trainer. "I know that you think we are all like this, but I can tell you that we're not like that, so please believe us, Squirtle, we wouldn't think of you as just tools."
"Naruto's right, Squirtle, we care and what to help," Sakura stepped in as she looked at the five Pokémon. "Trust me, Squirtle, someone I thought that I loved saw me as nothing, that I was beneath him," Sakura said as she remembered all the times Sasuke was cold to her.
"Sounds like a right douche to me Sakura," Misty said as she looked at her friend with a smile hoping to at least comfort her and maybe talk to her about it when the time was right.
The leader of the Squirtles continued to look at the humans as he tried to wonder if they were telling the truth or not.
"That blonde kid is going to ruin everything," Meowth thought but soon smiled as the Team Rocket scientists had created something to put the two ninjas to sleep if they needed it.
On the other hand, Naruto was still talking to the Squirtle, which Meowth didn't like at all; after all, the last thing he needed was for the Squirtle to turn on him.
A distance away, Meowth came to a decision. "I know just how to deal with this stubborn boy," He thought with a smirk as he reached towards a bag nearby and slowly crept towards the unsuspecting Naruto.
Naruto nodded. "Yes. Can you honestly tell me it's right to be doing what you're doing just because your Trainers hurt you?" Naruto asked as he could see them all looking at each other as they each began to wonder if he was right.
Meowth laughed haughtily. "Meowth, you got to get up earlier in the morning to trick Team Rocket! That was our special, patented, one-of-a-kind Sleep Powder dust, gathered from the leaves of a Vileplume!"
"No, Naruto!" Sakura cried out in fear as she saw Naruto fall asleep from Sleep Powder dust and just looked at Meowth with a glare.
"I swear, somehow, I'm gonna get you!" Misty promised as she kicked her legs some more under the ropes.
"There, you see?" Meowth stated as he swept his arm grandly. "They don't care about you! You can only trust other Pokémon!"
And that seemed to do the trick as the Squirtles nodded among each other, though the boss Squirtle still seemed to be focusing on Naruto's words as it tilted its head to the side, now more puzzled than ever on just who he should trust.
"Now the pinky time to get something else from ya," Meowth said as he picked out a hair from her and Naruto's head.
Sakura and Misty both shot Meowth an angry look. "You're lucky I'm tied up and you have my friends captive right now Meowth or I would give you a world of pain."
Hours later, the Squirtles had all decided to get some sleep, with the lead Squirtle volunteering to watch after Naruto to make sure he didn't wake up and cause them all trouble again. The Tiny Turtle Pokémon approached Naruto, staring at him as he dozed like a baby.
And then suddenly, a voice broke in on the Water Pokémon's thoughts. "Thinking deep thoughts?"
Squirtle whipped around, shocked, as he noticed Brock now staring down at him with a little too much understanding in his eyes.
The lead Squirtle said, waving its arm dismissively.
"You know Meowth's just trying to trick you, right?" Misty chimed in.
"Yes, she's right," Brock replied, nodding his head in agreement. "He and Jessie and James are bad news — they've tried to capture Pikachu before and that's the only thing they're interested in now."
'You're still using that line I see, as we have said before and to your sleeping friend words are cheap, Humans only care about power and what can help them get that power!' Squirtle said, sniffing imperiously.
"Hey, Squirtle, you don't have to be afraid of humans," Brock said with a smile. "Officer Jenny told us all about you. You and the rest of your friends here were abandoned by your Pokémon Trainers, isn't that right?"
'That is nothing that concerns you human,' Squirtle said, turning back to face Brock as he had now its total, complete attention.
"Look I know that's gotta be a rough experience, trust me we've recently seen what some trainers would do to their Pokémon," Brock said. "I'm sorry. You must have loved your Trainers very much."
"I won't lie, Squirtle, I agree there's some rotten human beings out there," Brock went on firmly but gently. "People who simple just don't care about anyone or anything but themselves. But there are also a lot of strong, noble, and compassionate people out there too."
Now it was Misty's turn to nod in agreement. "He's telling the truth, Squirtle. I mean look at Naruto he and Sakura and even Ash, we all want to help you Squirtle we all care enough about you to try and talk to you, why would we do that if we didn't care about Pokémon?"
"I know how you feel, Squirtle," Naruto said as he woke up. "When you've been hurt, it's easy to blame the world and everyone in it," He soon stopped what he said as Sakura looked at Naruto and could see he was upset.
And she knew why, after all, since the fight back home with Naruto and Sasuke happened and finding out about the Kyuubi inside Naruto, Sakura could see the pain in his eyes.
"But think about it, are we really that bad? Isn't there something good to find in us?" Naruto asked as he looked at the Squirtle with a smile.
Before long, the leader of the Squirtles went to sleep while Misty and all the others looked at each other in silence, still hoping and waiting for Ash to show up with the potion that would help Pikachu. "I hope what we said worked."
Misty soon looked over to Sakura as the pink hair girl sighed. "So who is this person that's been such a douche to you back home, because if I ever see him I'll hit him with the old Misty Mallet," Misty said with a smile, which caused Sakura to smile a little.
Sakura laughed at this; it's true if she had heard this before she became a ninja, she would have torn into Misty for saying something like that to Sasuke. Still, after all, that had happened and the friends they had made in this new world. "He was on the same team as Naruto and me," Sakura said as she soon told Misty and Brock of some of the adventures they had been on and the people she and Naruto fought.
Yet what they took notice of was Sasuke and how cold he seemed. "Well, it seems if not for Sasuke you and Naruto wouldn't be here, not that we don't mind I got a friend who's a girl to talk to," Misty said with a warm and happy smile.
"Thanks Misty that means a lot to me I would hug you if not tide up," Sakura said jokingly.
The night only went on, and as the four tried to get to sleep as well outside, Buizel and the others left but decided to stay close by but in a place so they wouldn't be that easily spotted.
Ash was having some trouble of his own and getting knocked out by Gary, who had opened a door on his face knocking him out cold. Hence he was out all night until the sun came up. But after waking up, he quickly brought the super potion needed to help Pikachu and, with Officer Jenney's help, found a back entrance to the cave.
When he finally got out of the other side, he was horrified by what he saw. Everyone was gone. All that was left was an empty cage and some rope. "Pikachu," he cried, fearing the worse. As he thought this, an image of Misty falling into a bottomless pit crossed his mind. "Misty!"
He saw the Squirtle and Meowth standing outside and instinctively charged at them. "Where are they? Where are Misty, Sakura, and Pikachu? I'm not late, so you shouldn't have hurt them? Where are they?" Ash yelled, getting a little hysterical as the thought of his friends getting hurt was a thought that he didn't want to think about what happened.
"We're right here Ash," Misty said, looking somewhat amused by his outburst. The Squirtle amassed around him, laughing boisterously. "Where's the super potion for Pikachu," Ash quickly produced the bottle he had brought.
Brock then administered it carefully to Pikachu's wounds to ensure maximum effect. "So Misty your hair isn't purple," Ash said, watching with rapt interest, and then looked at Sakura and noticed she still had all of her hair. "And you've still got all your hair too Sakura as well I see."
The two girls looked at each other and just smiled at each other, and then they looked at Ash. "Nope, they were bluffing. They play tricks but would never mess with a girls' natural hair color," Misty explained, making Ash wonder precisely what their morals were. He had heard they destroyed food stands and stole from people, so why draw the line at hair dye?
Bang, a massive bomb hit the mountainside with a Meowth-shaped balloon above it, which caused everyone to look up with a frown. "Damn it knew they would be coming!" Naruto yelled in anger.
"To protect the world from devastation."
"To unite all peoples within our nation."
"To denounce the evils of truth and love. To extend our reach to the stars above," they were now speaking in unison.
"Jessie"
"James"
"Squirtle Squad it's payback time for insulting Team Rocket, Meowth get on," she yelled, lowering a ladder for the small feline Pokémon to grab onto the ladder with a smile.
"And the rest of you are in for a real blast." James said, looking pleased with himself as they began throwing bombs everywhere, destroying cliffs. "And once all of you are taken care of..."
"We'll capture the other two twerps," Jessie said as she looked down at Naruto and Sakura, who both growled at this.
"Yeah, like we're going to let that happen we've stopped you before and we'll do it again Team Rocket!" Naruto yelled as he tightened his fists in anger. "And no matter what I will keep all the Pokémon here safe dattebayo."
From where he was hiding, Buizel just smiled lightly at what Naruto was saying. 'I have to admit you're good for a human, better than most I've seen,' Buizel thought, seeing the damage that's happening, seeing many wild Pokémon fleeing for their lives thanks to the fire that had started thanks to Team Rocket.
Soon Buizel looked at the members of his little gang and then up at Team Rocket. 'Okay, let's help,' He said as he looked over at Naruto as their eyes came into contact. 'I think we can trust them.'
"Go to the cave for cover," Brock yelled with fear as everyone but one had reached the cave safely. Ash and Misty noticed this as they saw the leader of the Squirtle wiggling on its back.
They didn't think about what they would do next.
It was instinct to charge out and dive for the Pokémon to protect it when the bombs fell. 'What who is...?' the small Pokémon looked up at the two saviors, shocked, had these two humans just risked everything to save him?
"Two more bombs are coming!" Brock yelled, still hiding in the cave.
Misty stood up without significant injuries, but Ash wasn't as lucky. "Look Misty, Squirtle, save yourselves please I need you run and get to the cave," he muttered, looking down at where a large rock lay on his ankle.
Squirtle looked at him even more shocked; this couldn't be normal. Squirtle could see just by looking at Ash that he wasn't cruel. Ash was a kind-hearted young trainer who had risked his life to save him and the girl.
"I'm not going to leave you just to die Ash!" Misty screamed as she was on the verge of crying.
Squirtle wouldn't let that happen, and apparently, Misty wouldn't either, as they both sprang into action to remove the rock before picking the boy up and running for cover.
Team Rocket just laughed as they continued to float away. "We got rid of the Squirtle Squad. We're going to be heroes," they cheered, only to immediately stop when they saw who was at the top of the cliff.
"Squirtle Buizel, use Water Gun," Misty and Naruto ordered, pointing towards the balloon. He complied without question, shooting a powerful torrent of water at them, popping the balloon.
"Looks like Team Rockets blasting off again," could be heard as they slowly disappeared in the sky.
"Ya, we won again," Ash said, being held up by Sakura due to his injured ankle.
"Yeah, but it isn't over yet. If that fire continues, it's going to take the whole town with it," Brock explained, looking at the raging fire set off by Team Rockets bombs.
Soon a tree began to fall, and it was right near Buizel, who was trying to help some wild Pokémon that had gotten trapped; Naruto saw this and made a few Shadow Clones. "Buizel, watch out!" Naruto yelled out in his hand. He formed a Rasengan in his right hand and destroyed the tree, thus saving Buizel's life.
Buizel then looked up to Naruto in shock, as the latter just looked at Buizel with a big smile. "Hey, Buizel, you okay?" Naruto asked as he still gave his big grin while Buizel lightly nodded.
"We better put out this fire, and I think I know how," Sakura said as she smiled and looked at the water Pokémon, and Ash saw this too and smiled, knowing she had a good idea.
"Good thinking Sakura," Ash said, looking at the Squirtle Squad and Buizel's gang. "Look, I know your group don't get along well with each other, but if you guys work together with us, we can use your water guns to put out the fire," Ash watched as they, along with some of Misty's water Pokémon, put the entire fire out with ease.
Everyone just smiled at each other happy that they had succeeded. "We did it!" Misty yelled as she began to jump up for joy with Sakura as both girls held each other's hands, happy they all stopped the fire.
However, while Misty was busy doing this, one of the Poké Balls from her belt dropped to the ground, something that Slowpoke noticed and moved to get a closer look at Misty's Poké Ball. 'What's this?' He asked and soon tapped it with his head.
Everyone else just watched as they were taken aback by what happened as they saw that Slowpoke had gotten himself captured. "What I..." Misty said in shock at the unexpected Pokémon she had gained.
Even the others were unsure what to say as she looked at the Buizel gang, and all sighed at their goofy friend.
After that, they returned to the town and told them everything. The Squirtle Squad was also given a certificate and the fire-fighters role. Apparently, they never had a real fire department before, and they had always relied on a joint one from the next town over, which was slightly unsettling to hear.
Once Ash and co left, the Squirtle Squad leader soon headed down the same path that he knew Ash went down; however, someone followed him. 'I know you're there, Buizel,' Squirtle said as he turned around a looked at his fellow water type.
Buizel just smirked at this as he stepped out from the shadows he was hiding in. 'Well I thought I would go with the trainer that saved my life. After all my group is safe here and can help the town like yours are doing.'
Squirtle was also a little shocked by this revelation, but he nodded as both looked down the path; they quickly took off to catch up to the five human trainers.
Ash and his friends departed, happy with the knowledge they had taught the Squirtle to trust humans again. "Hey Ash, that Squirtle and Buizel are following us," they turned to see it standing there, smiling happily.
"Hey, would you like to come with us Squirtle?" Ash said, looking back as the Squirtle removed its sunglasses, revealing bright, sparkling eyes. It then raced forwards straight into Ash's arms. "Guess I got a new Pokémon," Ash said, hugging it close.
Naruto smiled at Ash and looked at the Buizel he had saved and smiled. "So I take it you want to come with me too then?" Naruto asked while Buizel crossed his arms and nodded, not saying a word.
Naruto smiled at the Pokémon as he grabbed one of his Poké Balls. As Buizel let himself get captured by Naruto, who just looked at his own newly caught Pokémon and gave another smile.
A/N, well, another chapter is done, and another three new Pokémon for our heroes. Sorry that this took so long wanted to do this as best as I could, but I tell you, it was a hard one.
And for anyone wondering, yes, the Shellos is the same one that Paul used on Ash in the anime, as I thought it would be good to add that part and a little history on Buizel and his encounter with Paul. My hope is I did it just right; I feel that I didn't, sadly.
With Slowpoke, I wanted to make it like how Misty got her Psyduck, so I would like to thank EmperorDraco7 and Final Manga for the ideas on the Pokémon that should show up, plus how they should also get captured.
The DNA Team Rocket or Meowth got into play even if they lost a battle; they were all tests to see what Naruto and Sakura could do. Sadly, that's all for this chapter, and I hope you like the Pokeshipping moment; this chapter next chapter will have a NaruSaku moment, so till then, please leave a review and let me know what you think.
