Chapter 13 Bill's lighthouse
After walking down many paths and traveling through forests, Ash, Misty, Naruto, Sakura, and Brock arrived at a beach. Thinking about what they had gone through so far on their journey. Ash closed his eyes and remembered when he and Pikachu first met, set off on the journey together, met many new Pokémon and people, challenged the Pewter Gym and Cerulean Gym, met Misty, Sakura, Naruto, and Brock, and captured new Pokémon.
"Man, I hope we don't have that much longer till we get to Vermilion City," Naruto said as he looked at the map he held in his hands. "Argh, I give up. I can't make any sense of this stupid map. Here, Brock, you can have it back," Naruto said as he handed the map back to Brock.
"Well, it's not that bad, Naruto I mean, sure we are lost, but it just means we get to catch more Pokémon," Sakura said, frowning as she tried to look on the bright side of being lost as the others all looked at her. "Hey, looking on the bright side here."
"Yeah and I want to add more to my Team," Naruto said with a grin forming on his face as he looked at the Poké Balls that held his Pokémon in.
"Got that right Naruto I mean I've already caught five Pokémon fair and square," Ash insisted. He didn't realize that most of his Pokémon joined him; he didn't genuinely fight and capture. Well, there was Caterpie and Pidgeotto, that is, and Pikachu was his starter. "I've got Pikachu, Pidgeotto, Butterfree, Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle."
"Caught them?" Misty asked as she crossed her arms over her chest. Misty looked over to Ash with a frown across her face. "Ash, all your Pokémon followed you," She said as she looked at Ash with a smirk.
"Well Misty he did catch Caterpie and Pidgeotto, but other than that you're right, I mean even I've have had some join me," Sakura said with a sigh and looked down at the ground. "But I won't let that stop me I'm going to keep learning about this world."
"Well, they're all mine. So, that's all that counts for a Pokémon trainer Misty," Ash said with a grin looking at Misty and the others as they all looked at Ash. "Besides, Misty didn't Slowpoke, and Clefairy join or, shall I say, follow you?" He asked her with a larger grin across his happy face while Misty's face soon went red at what he had said to her.
"Well, that may be true, but this may come as a shock for you, but real Pokémon trainers do actually catch Pokémon on their own, Ash," Misty shot back as she looked away from Ash, and her face was still going red.
Naruto and Sakura only looked at each other and didn't want to get involved in this fight, but they both knew that Ash and Misty were ten, after all. "You know Sakura-chan I do have to wonder about them both sometimes," Naruto said as he looked at Sakura; as the blonde ninja glanced at the two trainers, he knew.
Sakura just nodded at what Naruto had to say; I mean to her and him, it was an odd relationship that Ash and Misty had with each other. Sometimes they were nearly always fighting with each other, trying to prove something to the other, while at other times, they wanted nothing more than to help each other.
"That makes me wonder how many Pokémon does your rival Gary has now," Brock questioned himself. Ash froze at that, as he was sure that Gary had more than him right now, but he would not let that stop him.
"Well, I know I'm going to show him who the real loser is!" Ash yelled as he soon ran off since he was still determined to beat Gary. "And there is no way that I'm going to let him beat me!"
Everyone looked back at Ash as they were shocked by this but knew it would be best to catch up to Ash. "Wait for us Ash!" Naruto yelled as the rest soon began to chase after him.
Ash was currently walking ahead and finally got to a beach area. He smiled happily, now looking at the beautiful sunset and blue waves crashing into the sand. Ash breathed in deeply, smelling the salty air. He felt a lot calmer after this action. The wind blew his hair gently, and he smiled softly with his eyes soft, letting the wind caress his face. Pikachu saw his master and friend look much better and sighed in relief. Ash was interrupted by something chattering. Ash blinked and looked down. There walking under his legs was a Krabby. He lifted a leg and turned around. Ash slowly walked beside it and peered down at it. As it was crab walking, it looked at him curiously. "Well hello there little guy, so what Pokémon are you then," Ash said, smiling, walking alongside it. The Krabby chattered to him while still crab-walking, and Ash smiled at that. He pulled out his Pokédex.
"Krabby, lives near the shore. Its average height is about 16 inches," The Pokédex said while Ash closed it and looked at the Krabby once more, seeing that it was a little short.
Ash and Pikachu both looked at the little Pokémon. "Well I've gotta say he is on the short side," Ash said as he looked at the Krabby, who began to blow bubbles from his mouth over what Ash had said.
'I think you made him angry Ash,' Pikachu said and looked at the little Krabby, who was now looking at the young human with more bubbles coming from its mouth.
Ash, didn't say much he only kept looking at Pikachu, who continued to laugh ever so lightly, knowing that his friend was right; it was at the same moment Misty, Sakura, Naruto, and Brock began to exit the forest since they also spotted something moving on the beach.
"Huh? It's a Krabby?" Misty said, walking over to Ash and looking down at the small specimen.
"Hey, aren't Krabby supposed to be about twice that size?" Brock asked as Ash used a Poké Ball to catch it, not even shocked when the small Krabby had gotten captured without a fight.
Brock and Misty didn't even blink when Ash caught the Krabby without battling it; their suspicions were then almost instantly confirmed.
"Yep, that was definitely a low level Krabby," Misty said as Brock nodded in agreement with her. "Anyway, the lower a Krabby's level, the smaller it is. I'm guessing that one was probably around level three or something," She added, wondering how old the Krabby was. "And it was most likely young as well."
Ash just nodded; after all, Misty did know a lot about her water Pokémon, so he just looked at the Poké Ball that had Krabby in it well, that was until the Poké Ball Ash was holding had completely vanished from his hand. "Wait what just happened?"
"Oh that's because it was sent to the person that gave you your Pokédex," Misty explained.
"But why Ash has six Pokémon why send Krabby away?" Naruto and Sakura asked as they thought they could at least catch more Pokémon for their team.
"She's right, a trainer can only carry six Pokémon after all once you get past that number the rest will be sent as Misty said to the one who gave you your Pokédex," Brock said with a smile on his face.
"You mean Professor Oak?" asked Ash, and he soon started to frown as he daydreamed about professor Oak wanting to eat his new Pokémon. "I have a bad feeling about that." He said.
"That's crazy Ash. Why would Oak eat your Krabby?" Naruto asked, but Ash was worried just the same.
"If you want to switch out your Pokémon there's a button in the Pokedex," Misty said with a smile as she helped Ash get out his Pokédex. "See you push that white button and then just pick the Pokémon that you want to exchange for Krabby or you could do it at the Pokémon center as well."
"But I don't want to switch anything out I like my Pokémon," Ash answered as he liked all the Pokémon that he had captured as well has gotten to know them as well.
"Why don't you call him?" Sakura asked, looking over to Ash as she smiled at her friend. "I mean I don't think that he would mind."
"I need to call him too," Naruto said as Sakura and the others looked at Naruto, wondering why he wanted to talk to the Professor.
"Why?" Sakura said, wondering why Naruto wanted to speak to the Pokémon professor.
"Well we saw Pokémon we've never, and maybe Professor Oak might know the Pokémon we saw," Naruto said as he held the Pokéball with his newly caught Pokémon, as he still wanted to know what it was. "I say this since our Pokédex couldn't tell what they were."
Yet Brock saw that there was one problem with this plan, and that problem for the group was that they were nowhere close to a phone that Ash could use to call Professor Oak. "Well, guys, we may have a problem with that as we're nowhere near a phone or town."
It was just then that Pikachu noticed some in the distance and gave a smile. 'Hey, I think I found a place!' Pikachu yelled to the five humans jumping up and down on the ground while the others just looked at him.
Everyone looked on, surprised at the spinning light on the top of the lighthouse. "It's a lighthouse," Ash gave a happy grin. "Sweet a lighthouse, every lighthouse has a keeper, which means they will have a phone!"
Misty then gave a happy grin as she looked over to Sakura, as she, too, was smiling. "It'll also have a bed. I don't want to sleep in a sleeping bag again. I need my beauty sleep."
Sakura nodded and scoffed; she knew they had to sleep on the ground the last few nights. "She right, my back is starting to hurt from this sleeping on the ground," Naruto said as he gave a frown but smiled at the thought of a nice bed to sleep on was a good idea.
Brock also nodded. "It also means that somebody can tell us where we are," Ash smiled; he pointed to the lighthouse. "Let's go!" With that, the gang ran towards the building.
It was then dark by the time they got there; Ash and the gang were breathing deeply at all the running they did to get there. "Whew... That was further than it looked."
Brock frowned at that as he looked at the lighthouse they had come to, hoping someone was inside. "This lighthouse looks weird," Everyone then noticed the Pokémon cravings on the lighthouse doors. Ash thought they looked impressive with all the different species of Pokémon on the door.
"Hey, look at these carvings," Naruto told them. Ash, Brock, Sakura, and Misty noticed the many carvings of many different species of Pokémon on the door. "I wonder who lives here thou," Naruto wondered, looking over to the rest of his friends since it was odd to live out here all alone.
Misty blinked as she then looked at the large doors before looking over to Ash. "I guess we better ring the bell."
"I got it," Ash said as he walked forward, seeing the caller box near the door and pressing the button. It rang loudly, and he felt his Pikachu glued to his leg. He petted him nervously. Everyone huddled together, feeling anxious.
"Who's there?" The voice young male with a British accent on the bell caller asked as the three trainers jumped back at this. However, Naruto and Sakura were still looking at the carvings on the two large doors.
Brock was the first to answer; after all, he was the oldest among all five. "Excuse us, sir. But we're travelers and we're lost."
Ash butted in next, and although the person on the other end wouldn't see him, Ash smiled. "I'm sorry for bothering you tonight. I just wanted to use your phone to call someone for an emergency."
Misty then pushed Ash aside as she gave a smile of her own. "We have been camping out for a while and I sure would appreciate a nice comfy bed," Misty ended with a grin.
"And, I wonder if I could use your kitchen to make some bacon double cheeseburgers for our group and, I would be more then happy to make something for you," Brock said with a smile.
The voice was quick to answer. "That sounds great. Can you cook without using tofu?"
Shocked at what the voice asked, Brock just nodded. "Oh, sure I can cook a lot of things without using tofu."
The voice then answered, sounding happy at hearing this. "That's good. I've been eating nothing but tofu sense my cook went on vacation. Come on in," With that, the voice went silent.
The group looked to see the double doors open as if of their own accord. "Well, that was kind of creepy," Naruto said as they all walked into the lighthouse, trying to make it sound like a joke, though he was failing at telling his awful joke as Sakura nudged him a little. Sadly this didn't help matters a few seconds later when the doors closed behind them.
"And that was even creepier," Sakura said as they looked behind them at the now-closed door.
"Sorry about that, the automatic doors sometimes scare people," said a voice from somewhere in the dark, causing everyone to look around for the person who had spoken.
"Hey, where are you?" Sakura called, still trying to see through the dark as she was now getting a little worried about this place.
They peered in to see a large room with a traveling staircase. With big windows and a large hallway, they walked inside and began looking at the inside of this man's lighthouse in awe. "Do you mind if I use your phone?" Ash questioned as he looked around for the lighthouse owner and hoped it would be okay.
"There's a phone right near you," The voice answered, while Ash blinked at that as he looked over to see a video phone and a transporter nearby.
"Hey it's a video phone that's pretty cool," Misty said as the five looked at it and saw a Bellsprout phone, which Naruto thought looked very cool.
Ash then walked over and started to dial Professor Oak's number. "I'm sure he won't mind that; I calling him at this time of night," He heard the ringing, and it instantly popped up on the video feed of the Professor. It showed him cooking dinner, and Ash froze.
"Well, hello Ash. You caught me cooking dinner. My cook is on vacation you see and I got to fend for myself till she returns," Oak began as he looked at Ash and smiled at the young trainer.
Ash smiled; however, he was still worried about just what he was cooking. "That's cool Professor Oak. I just wanted to call and see how my Pokémon is doing," Ash said as he looked at Professor Oak. "Which I hope you're not cocking I mean the others told me you wouldn't do it but I'm still worried."
All Professor Oak could do when he heard this was laugh a little. "Oh, you don't need to worry, Ash," He said as he moved out of the way showing Ash's new Pokémon. "See, your Pokémon is safe and sound." He said as he moved out of the way to show Krabby in a bowl with Ash's photo on the bowl.
"Anyway, Ash your Krabby is too small to make a meal," Professor Oak said as he gave a light blow on the tofu he was making and looked at Ash once more. "On the other hand, the Krabby Gary caught would make for a far better meal much better than this tofu I'm eating."
After hearing this, Ash was shocked when finding out that Gary had also captured a Krabby and wondered when this happened. "What are you saying Gary got a Krabby as well?" Ash asked as his friends soon moved over to him.
Professor Oak nodded at this as he soon showed the larger Krabby as all five were shocked but just how much bigger Gary's Krabby was in size than Ash's own Krabby. "Wow, would you look at the size of that thing!" Naruto yelled in shock and awe as well.
"Naruto and Sakura it's good to see you both as well how are you two dealing with being in our world?" Professor Oak asked the two as he smiled at them.
Both ninjas just looked at the Professor with a smile on their faces. "We're doing alright professor Oak but we need to show you something," Naruto began as Oak raised his eyebrow at this.
"Really, what is it you wanted to show me?" Oak asked as he looked at the trainers and began to wonder exactly what Naruto wanted to show him.
Naruto nodded at this as he reached to get Buizel. "I do you see, we sort of saw a group of Pokémon that even Dexter didn't know what Pokémon they were," Naruto said as he soon called out his Buizel so that he could show him to Professor Oak.
Once Buizel was out, Professor Oak was shocked and amazed at this Pokémon he had never seen before. "I must say that is an amazing find you have with you, Naruto," Professor Oak said as he looked at the Pokémon.
Sakura nodded as she looked at the Pokémon. "So Professor Oak do you have any idea on what kind of Pokémon it is?"
"What we know is that it's a water-type," Misty added with a smile; after all, she had seen it use some water attacks, and from the looks of Buizel, she felt it was a water-type Pokémon as well.
Professor Oak, however, looked at the Pokémon as he gave it a study. "Well, from what I can tell it's not native to Kanto region," He said while Buizel nodded at what the Professor had said.
"Wow, so it must come from a faraway region then?" Naruto asked as he looked at Buizel, who just smiled and nodded up to Naruto, not saying a word. "From what I can say it says Buizel a lot so that must be its name," He said while the others looked at him and nodded, knowing that a Pokémon can only say their name.
Professor Oak nodded as it was the only thing he could explain right now, and he knew he would need to have a better look at the Pokémon that Naruto had found. "You're right on that, Naruto. I know of some researchers that study Pokémon from far-off lands, so one of them might know more about your Pokémon."
"Oh by the way I want you to know that my grandson Gary has already caught forty-five Pokémon," Professor Oak, while shocking not only Ash but also the others at the number of Pokémon that Gary now owns.
"What you've got to be kidding that many Pokémon already!" Sakura yelled as she was shocked by the amount that he had.
"So where are you at, Ash?" Professor Oak asked with a smile on his face.
"We're at a lighthouse on top of a cliff somewhere," Ash said, wishing he knew that as well, but maybe Professor Oak knew about this place.
"That sounds like my friend Bill's lighthouse," Professor Oak said. "He's a young Pokémon Researcher who knows even more than me. He could teach you everything there is to know about Pokémon and then some."
The loudspeaker crackled. "This is Bill, Professor Oak. It's good to hear from you."
"Oh, hello there Bill it's so good to hear from you." Professor Oak said as he spoke cheerfully to Ash. "Please give my friends a crash course on Pokémon, oh and Naruto he might know about the Pokémon you have as well so show it to him will you," His pot started boiling over. "Oh! Tofu's done! Talk to you later, Ash!" He began blowing on the tofu as he hung up.
"Well, there's no way I can ignore a request from the great Professor Oak." Bill's voice boomed. The lights suddenly turned on. "I am Bill of the lighthouse!" Everyone looked towards the stairs and gasped in shock when they saw not a human but a giant Kabuto.
Outside the lighthouse, the Team Rocket trio was on a far-off cliff looking at the lighthouse through their binoculars. The three all smiled. "So this is the famous lighthouse of the great Bill," Jessie said as she smiled while lowering her binoculars.
"We still need to be careful Jessie," James said as he gave a frown knowing that Naruto and Sakura would be there to stop them.
However, Meowth laughed at this and looked at both his human friend with a tiny glint in his eyes. "Oh don't worry thanks to what we've told the boss he is already making ways we can get past them."
Soon, the three again looked back at the lighthouse as they wondered about the options they should take to get to the lighthouse. "Well, we could take the road to the lighthouse."
"Or we could risk our lives and climbing up the side of the cliff," Jessie said as she took another look at the lighthouse.
"Well we certainly can't take the road," James said as he frowned at that thought.
"We have to climb up on those cliffs," Jessie said as she gave a smile while at the same time, Meowth was by Jessie and James's side, also smiling.
"Cause we're the bad guys and the bad guys always got to sneak our way into buildings," Meowth said with a grin that began forming on his face.
"To be truly great criminals we have to do things the hard way," Jessie said as she smirked.
"And then we'll become harden criminals," James added with a grin of his very own as he looked over to the lighthouse knowing it was where they needed to head to, as they all smiled.
"But it will be tough to reach the top," Jessie continued as she pointed to the lighthouse; both she and James smiled.
For a while, the three were silent before the two humans cried out in fear as they hugged each other. "Cause we're afraid of heights!" Jessie and James yelled while Meowth looked at the two with a frown.
"It can't be!" Brock cried in shock at what he and the others were looking at now with their own eyes. "That's Kabuto, an extinct Pokémon! What's it doing here?"
"Well how should we know Brock, all I know is that it doesn't look so extinct to me," Naruto said as he looked at the so-called extinct Pokémon.
"No! I'm not a Kabuto!" Bill exclaimed in shock as the little arms of the Kabuto moved ever so slightly. "I'm Bill, the Pokémon researcher!"
Everyone soon calmed down once they knew it was Bill, and they soon wondered what the heck he was in costume. "Is that a costume or something?" Ash asked.
"Yeah, I kind of got myself stuck in it," Bill admitted sheepishly.
"Need some help getting out of it?" Naruto asked as he moved closer to Bill, who was still trapped in the costume.
"Yes, please!" Bill said with relief. "Please press the button on the right side of the costume."
Naruto walked up the stairs and examined the costume, spotting the button under the right arm. "This button?" he asked, not wanting to hit the wrong button and make things worse.
"Yes," Bill said as the little claws of the costume that Bill was still wearing were trying their best to reach it. "These arms are too short. I tried to get out of the costume, but I couldn't reach the button."
Naruto quickly pressed the button, and the costume fell away to reveal a green-haired man in a red suit. "Thanks," Bill told him gratefully. "I was stuck in there for hours!"
'So he just decided to sit in the dark in a Kabuto costume he couldn't get out of and freak us out instead of just telling us when he first invited us in?' Pikachu thought with a deep sigh and knew he was not the only one thinking about it. 'We seem to run into all the nutcases on our trip….'
"Did you come from a costume party?' Misty asked.
"No, it's not for a party," Bill replied. "It's a special costume I use for my research. Getting inside its skin helps me get inside its head."
"What do you mean?" a confused Ash questioned.
Bill soon pointed to some very old carvings of an Omanyte, Omastar, and Aerodactyl. "There are all kinds of extinct Pokémon, and I want to understand how they lived. Putting on a costume is one way of trying to figure out what they were like."
Pikachu looked at him in awe. 'I can't decide whether that's weird or extremely brilliant.'
"So you can understand what a Pokémon was like by wearing a costume?" Ash questioned.
Bill nodded as he looked at the five trainers with a smile. "Yes indeed. Or I'm beginning to. This planet was created 4.6 billion years ago. During that time, all kinds of Pokémon existed, and they had many ways of living. In Kanto alone, there are at least one hundred and fifty known species of Pokémon. And new ones are discovered all the time, so we need to keep searching. There is always something to look for, inside and outside ourselves," Bill said as he looked over to Naruto's Buizel since he had heard what Oak had said.
Naruto and the others saw this as they hoped that Bill knew the Pokémon they had all seen. "Yeah, we've met some Pokémon we have never seen before."
Bill then turned to Ash and the others. "You're all lucky to be Pokémon trainers so keep searching for Pokémon to catch. It's as vital to me as it is to you. And always keep your eyes open for new discoveries. I recently came upon the greatest discovery of my life."
Ash nodded but was a little down that he had only got seven Pokémon and knew that even his friends had fewer Pokémon. "That's true, but none of us have that many Pokémon. I mean, I only have seven."
Naruto nodded as he looked at the large hologram showing all the Pokémon they knew were native to the Kanto region. "Well I have five which includes Buizel here."
Bill nodded as he smiled at the Pokémon that Naruto had and looked at the blonde boy as Bill smiled at him. "I must I have heard of this Pokémon it's called a Buizel and it's from a region called Sinnoh."
"The Sinnoh region, what's that place?" Misty said as she and Brock looked, "I've never heard of it before," she added as she looked to the others, wondering if they had heard of it.
"Well, Misty if the region that we are in now is Kanto. Then there has to be many regions that we don't know about yet and if they are islands like the one we are on then that means that Pokémon we may not even know about could live in those regions," Sakura said as she looked at Misty with a smile on her face.
"She's right Misty. There could be a region with a lot of water Pokémon," Naruto added, as he knew the redhead liked water Pokémon.
Bill nodded at what Naruto had said as he looked at Misty. "He is right Misty," Bill began as Misty perked up once she heard this. "If I remember there is a region with a lot of water..." Bill paused, trying to remember the name. "If I remember the name it's called Hoenn."
Hearing this made Misty smile even more that there was a region like this, and Misty was hoping to go to the Hoenn region one day.
"I guess there is a lot that we have yet to find, then?" Sakura said with her gaze over to Bill as she and Naruto began to wonder just how many Pokémon and mysteries were in this world as she looked at Naruto.
"Yes your right Sakura. There's a lot for us to look for, inside and outside ourselves. There's a meaning for every creature. A meaning for all the Pokémon and a meaning for all us humans too."
Bill then turned to Ash and the others. "Keep searching for Pokémon to catch. It's as vital to me as it is to you. And always keep your eyes open for new discoveries. I recently came upon the greatest discovery of my life."
Everyone just looked at Bill, wondering what he was talking about, while Bill looked at the five with a smile, seeing that they all looked confused. "What discovery?"
Outside, Team Rocket was climbing up the rocky suffice, with Jessie in front followed by James, who was in the middle with Meowth at the end. "You know, sometimes I wonder what's the point of it all; I mean, why go through all this trouble just to be bad?"
"We do it so we can get other people's Pokémon and remember Jessie. The boss wants us to get as much information and keep track of the two kids," James said, knowing that it was true as Giovanni needed to keep track of Naruto and Sakura.
Before the five knew it, they were out, high above the tall lighthouse; everyone was amazed by the view of the ocean.
"It's probably the biggest ever bigger than ones that we know of so far," Bill said, and once he said this, Naruto and Sakura looked at each other as he continued to tell Ash and the others about this Pokémon.
"You don't think he means Arceus?" Sakura whispered to Naruto. After all, when they met the Pokémon, it was massive. "Or maybe some other Pokémon we have yet to see."
"I'm not sure Sakura I mean..." Naruto was still unsure of what they had learned from Bill; there was a lot about this world he and Sakura landed in that they didn't even know about, but both ninjas knew that as they were in this world now, they would be finding out a lot more.
"I know we know so little about this world from our own," Sakura said as she looked out to where her friends were looking, but she soon looked back to Naruto. "But you know what being here in this world is good I mean we've made new friends since we got here and are learning so much as well."
Naruto nodded at what Sakura was saying and gave her a big smile as the two soon went back to hear what Bill was saying. "I remember hearing its voice, saying: 'I want to meet you; I want to be your friend.' For a long time now, I've been waiting and wanting to meet that Pokémon," Bill said with a smile as he looked at Ash and the others.
"But will you try to catch it?" Ash wondered; after all, he hoped they would all get to see this Pokémon that Bill had seen.
However, all Bill did was look at Ash and smile at the young trainer. "Why would I, I mean just meeting it would be enough for me," Bill began and was about to go on when they all heard a sound, and this was not something that Bill had recorded either.
No, this sound they could hear was coming from the ocean; everyone soon started to look out at the sea while Bill smiled even more as they began to see the Pokémon heading toward them. "It's here!" Bill cried with joy as he pressed a remote, and suddenly the lighthouse, with the lights from the lighthouse, began to change color from red to blue and green.
"It sounds like it's singing," Misty said, dreamily listening to the singing, though she was unable to understand the lyrics.
"Would you care to dance?" Brock asked, but he was interrupted by Sakura and Naruto, who wanted to tease Misty and Ash.
"Sorry, Brock but I think that dance should be for Ash and Misty," Sakura said with a tease in her voice as she and Naruto looked at the two young trainers. "Isn't that right Naruto?"
Naruto looking over to Sakura, only nodded at what she had said and smiled. "Oh, I think your right, Sakura-chan," He said, looking at both Ash and Misty, who were going red in the face.
Once Ash and Misty heard this, both looked over to their friends; while Brock saw this, he slowly backed away, knowing there was no way he wanted to be involved in this one, and soon walked away.
"There is no way that's going to be happening not now and not ever!" Misty yelled with a red face as she looked away from Ash and crossed her arms over her chest at what Naruto and Sakura had said.
Ash nodded at what Misty was saying; while Pikachu was trying his best, he could not laugh. "What's so funny, Pikachu?" Ash asked as he and Misty had a slight feeling that he was laughing at the two.
'Nothing really Ash I just think it's funny,' Pikachu told his trainer as the little yellow mouse looked at Ash and Misty.
"What the matter, Misty?" Sakura asked with a grin as she teased her female friend a little more, which caused Misty to go red. "Besides, I want to get to the bottom of why they both fight as much as they do."
"You know this is not funny, Sakura!" Misty yelled as she was not impressed by what either Naruto or Sakura was implying.
"What there is something going on I mean the two of you fight a lot after all so that has to mean something," Naruto said as he looked at the two friends he had known since he and Sakura arrived in this world.
After hearing this, Ash and Misty looked over at their two ninja friends and then at each other before their faces went red. Ash and Misty then looked away, and the two crossed their arms over their chest and closed their eyes; this caused Naruto and Sakura to laugh again, seeing the two reactions.
"Hey, it's not funny you two," Misty said with her face turning redder, but she and Ash chose to ignore what their two friends were saying.
While Naruto and Sakura just laughed a little but decided to go back to watching the large Pokémon that was now heading toward them.
"What beautiful music," Jessie said with a smile on her wicked face at what she was hearing, yet she had no idea where the music was coming from, so she continued to listen.
"It's very haunting yet also so sweet," James said with his eyes closed, wanting to enjoy it like Jessie was right now, not caring where it was coming from.
It was only then that Meowth looked behind to find out just what was making the sound, and he was shocked at the size of the Pokémon. "Look it's coming from that thing!" Meowth yelled as he pointed it to Jessie and James, who were just as shocked.
"That's a big Pokémon," Jessie said as she looked at the large Pokémon; she was now clearly seeing with her eyes.
"Well, I guess size does matter," James said, looking at the Pokémon as he looked over to Jessie.
"I wonder if we should capture it and then bring it to the boss. Just think of the reward we would get," Meowth said with a grin forming on his face. "Not only that, but I'm sure that with something like that on our side, then the two kids we are after will not stand a chance."
"Oh, that is true, Meowth that's why with have to grab it and make it ours," Jessie said as she smiled deeply, knowing that it might just help them capture both ninjas.
James quickly pulled out a rocket launcher with a smile forming on his face as he pointed it at the large Pokémon, but then he stopped. "I couldn't have said it better I'll attack it at once," James began but stopped as he looked over to Jessie. "But it seems a shame to aim at such a sweet creature."
"Of course, it's a shame we built our fame on shame, besides this may be the thing that we need to capture the two kids that the boss wants," Jessie said with a grin.
With that said, James soon fired the rocket launcher at the large Pokémon, who was less than pleased by all this. The Pokémon large started thinking that the one behind this was Bill and the other humans on the lighthouse who were attacking.
Once the large Pokémon was close to the lighthouse, it looked down at the building, and Naruto and Sakura could tell it was not happy. "What on earth happened, and where did that explosion come from!" Naruto cried out as he knew Bill wouldn't do this but had a bad feeling about who would as he looked over to Sakura.
Sakura had no idea, and right now, she and Naruto knew that now was not the time to find this out; they needed to get Bill and their friends to safety, and then they could find out what was going on. "We need to get out of here!" Sakura cried as the large Pokémon soon got closer.
The large Pokémon soon started to attack the lighthouse, something that Naruto and Sakura saw, and they knew what they now had to do. "Bill, we need to go!" Naruto cried as Sakura was already busy telling Brock, Misty, and Ash they needed to go. "Something going on, and right now, we need to..." Naruto was then quickly cut off as he and the others saw the Pokémon in question was not right near them, and despite it being dark, they could all tell it was not happy at being shot at as it looked at them.
Soon it used its claws, and Naruto saw it would hit the top of the lighthouse, and he looked over to Sakura, who nodded at what she knew that she had to do as she looked at three friends.
"Okay, we need to go!" She cried, knowing they needed to leave now and not stick around any longer than they should.
With that in mind, Naruto and Sakura began to get their friends downstairs from the top of the lighthouse before things got worse; this was just in time since the Pokémon used its claws and destroyed the top of the lighthouse.
The others all began to run down the stairs as they tried their best to avoid the falling debris, and everyone did their best not to be hit but found it a lot harder as the building was shaking. "Come on guys!" Ash cried as he saw more rubble.
Misty looked back as she wished she knew what caused the Pokémon to get so angry, but Misty also wanted to make sure her friends were okay; she knew Brock was alright as he was in front of her. "Where are the others?" She thought, unable to see Naruto or Sakura.
Soon the lighthouse began to shake again as another piece of debris began to fall, which Misty didn't even notice. 'Oh no Misty, look out!' Pikachu cried as he saw Misty was in danger.
Ash even saw this and was worried as he saw it. "No, Misty!" Ash cried out as he, too, saw the pieces of debris falling near her.
Misty looked up in fright as she moved away but tripped, hurting herself as she cried out in great pain, slipping down a few steps. However, Ash wasted no time as before he and Bill moved to help Misty up to her feet, with Ash looking at her with worry. "Misty?" Ash asked, hoping that she was not too hurt.
Misty looked up at Ash and gave a weak smile to him. "I'll be alright, Ash," Misty said, knowing that Naruto and Sakura must have jumped off the lighthouse once they were safe and making sure they did what they could to stop the Pokémon.
Meanwhile, back up on the top of the lighthouse, both ninjas were still trying to calm the Pokémon down, but it was no use no matter what they tried; it was too angry at what happened. "I can't believe Team Rocket did this," Naruto said as he could tell that this was them.
"Yeah, they are obsessed with both Pikachu and us," Sakura added as she saw the Pokémon about to attack again, and she looked over to Naruto as both saw their friends were safely outside.
"Okay, everyone's safe now, Sakura-chan, so let's get out of here!" Naruto cried out as he and Sakura jumped off the lighthouse in front of their friends and Bill; he was shocked while looking at the two ninjas.
Back on the cliffside, James was still firing the rocket launcher at the Pokémon; now, Jessie was helping James out, yet James was less pleased with what he was doing. "Jessie, do we really have to do this? Even I think it's rotten!"
"Stop complaining, James; we can score big if we capture this Pokémon!" Jessie said before smiling as she fired her Rocket launcher again at the Pokémon she and her team were trying to capture.
Yet at that moment, the Pokémon used its tail as it went across the water and right towards Team Rocket, who was, as the three saw what was about to happen and knew that there was nothing they could do to stop it.
With a mighty swing from the Pokémon tail, it sent the Team Rocket trio flying into the night sky. "We're blasting off again!"
After dealing with the three Team Rocket members, the large Pokémon began to walk back out to the ocean as Bill tried his best to call him back. "No, come back!" he cried out to the Pokémon, but it soon disappeared into the foggy night.
"We're sorry, Bill," Sakura said with a frown, as she knew Bill had wanted to meet the Pokémon. Sakura moved to Misty as she saw that her friend was hurt and decided to see what she could do to help Misty out. "Okay, let's look you over then, Misty."
Misty nodded as she sat down; since she trusted her new friend, Sakura soon did her best to look her over for any injuries. Misty looked at Sakura and gave a light smile to her friend. "Hope it's nothing too bad."
Sakura then looked up at Misty and smiled at her as Sakura looked her over, making sure nothing was that seriously broken. "Well, Misty, all you need is a good night's rest, and you should be fine by the morning," Sakura answered as Misty gave a smile that it was nothing too bad.
However, Bill wondered what had happened and caused the Pokémon he had waited to meet to get so angry. "I just wish I knew what happened?" Bill asked as Naruto looked at him with a sad look on his face.
"Well Sakura and I that it was Team Rocket I mean they do have a habit of either following us," Naruto said as he looked at Bill and the others.
"And if professor Oak was right and you are famous then they would have come here to get any information that they could from you and any new Pokémon that you have discovered and use it for their own," Sakura informed Bill as she looked around to see where the three were.
Bill nodded and knew he would try to contact the Pokémon again and find out what it was. But he knew that right now, it was late, and with them all covered in dirt, they would need a shower and to clean their clothes, and Sakura wanted to make sure that nobody else was seriously hurt.
With that said, they all headed back into the lighthouse for the night, with Naruto saying he would help fix the place. "You don't worry, Bill, I'll help clean this place up," Naruto said as he made some clones; after all, Bill had seen him and Sakura jump off the lighthouse, so there was no use in hiding what he and Sakura could do after all.
Brock decided that he would cook them all a meal. "Well, while you do that Naruto, I'll get the food ready for you all," Brock answered as he smiled at his friends. "I think we all need a good meal, after tonight."
"Well while you do that Misty and I are going to have a shower," Sakura said as she helped Misty to the shower. "After all after what the three trio losers have done me and Misty need a nice hot shower to get some of the dirt off."
Once they were in the shower, the two girls took the clothes off while Sakura remembered what Ash did for Misty or, at the very least, from what Brock said. "So..." Sakura began with a smile on her face as she turned the hot water on before Sakura looked at Misty. "Brock told me what happened with you and Ash."
"Huh?" Misty asked as she looked towards Sakura while Misty had taken off her hair band and let her hair down. "What do you mean, Sakura?" Misty asked, wondering what Sakura was talking about in the first place. "It was nothing, just a friend helping another friend."
However, Sakura just gave a sly smile at her friend. "Oh, I think that you know, Misty," Sakura said as she cleaned herself from the dust from her hair.
Misty looked away as her face went red, but she knew she wouldn't tell Sakura a thing. "I don't know what you talking about Sakura, all Ash is to me is a friend nothing more nothing else."
"Oh, I thought that you didn't like him after what he did to your bike," Sakura said as she had a smile on her face and was happy Misty couldn't see it.
The moment Misty heard this from Sakura, she just gave a slight gulp, not knowing Sakura, thanks to her training, heard this but decided to pretend she didn't. "Well Sakura what can I say, Ash has shown that he cares for his Pokémon," Misty said as she washed her hair.
"Oh come on Misty," Sakura said as she looked over her shoulder. "You can't tell me that there is more going on with you both."
All the response Sakura got from Misty was a huff. "Just so you know Sakura I prefer the more mature types."
All Sakura could do was lightly laugh at this. "Okay, then Misty if you say so," Sakura said as she knew she would not get anywhere right now, so she would wait and see what time would bring.
The next morning Ash and the others all wondered what the Pokémon they saw was and just made it get driven away like it was. "I still wonder what that Pokémon was," Ash said as he tried to think what Pokémon could be that big.
"Well, who knows, we might find out one day," Ash said as he hoped that he would see the Pokémon that they had gotten a look at last night.
"You might be right, Ash," Bill said with a smile as he looked towards the ocean. "I will wait here in the hopes that one day I will be able to contact the Pokémon once."
The five friends all looked at each other with a smile on their happy faces before they headed off as they went back to the road for Vermilion City and Ash, Naruto, and Sakura's next badge.
Meanwhile, Giovanni had gotten a new report at his hidden base from a few operatives who secretly followed Jessie and James and knew they had tried to capture a large unknown Pokémon.
As the leader of Team Rocket walked down the halls of his base, he knew that the two ninjas had not shown what they could do. "Seems that they want to keep what they can do a secret then," he said with a smile on his cruel face as he looked at the photos of Naruto and Sakura.
Yet all this did, was cause Giovanni to smile; he knew that the trainers were heading towards Vermilion City, and he could use this as an excellent test to see what they could do when in danger. "Yes, I think that it's the perfect test," Giovanni said, walking into a room as his eyes met with a Pokémon with armor covering most of his body, including his head.
The Pokémon in question looked up at Giovanni as his eyes glowed blue. "Yes, what is it?" The Pokémon asked as he looked over to Giovanni as the unknown Pokémon noticed his smile.
All Giovanni did was look at his most powerful Pokémon with a smile on his evil face. "I have a mission for you," Giovanni said before he gave a very low chuckle.
A/N and done man; this was a challenging chapter to do, but I still hope you all liked it, and just so you all know, we are going a little off canon for the next few chapters, as the cliffhanger showed you, Naruto and Sakura will be fighting Mewtwo next chapter.
And yes, a little foreshadowing to the other regions as well; now, one girl might show up sooner than you all think, but it will be a minor role as she will only show up in some chapters as a guest.
Now, I've been hoping to make it epic and badass. Remember, Naruto and Sakura are still Genin, and it also takes place before Sasuke even left, so they are not super OP to take on Mewtwo. But I will balance the fight to the best I can with the young Naruto and Mewtwo. After all, Mewtwo is a favorite of mine, meaning I want to get this right; I hope you all liked this chapter, so please leave a review.
