AN: It's been a while so here is a bit of a long chapter.

Disclaimer: I do not own Naruto.

POV: IRUNA

The sun was out, signaling the end of our patrols. It was a bit sad not to see them almost every day or night. That is excluding the Hyuuga. Then again I would still see them around the village especially in the teashop where Anko-san frequents to.

I nodded to Hayate-san before turning in the direction of the compound, breakfast and a good rest seemed to be in order. It was a pleasant darkness or void, just silence while I was in my sleep or that I just don't remember the dreams I have. That sleep was cut short though, by the small pug I was looking at, that was too close to my face.

"What does Kaka-nii want with me?" I said glowering at it.

"Oh? So you know that Kakashi sent me?" Pakkun asked.

"Of course, I know. You're his summon."

Pakkun stared at me for a while before nodding.

"He sent me to pass on a message from the Hokage. You'll be staying with them from now on." It said before going away in a poof.

I tried to get a bit more of sleep after the summons disappeared, but it was useless. Sleep didn't come and I was forced to get up. I opened the curtains of my window to find it was only a little after lunch. I left my room and went down to the kitchen where Mother is together with a guest. I could only tell because there was another chakra signature with her.

I entered the kitchen and found Mother was having tea with Shisuis' father.

"I should be on my way, Mikoto-san." Uchiha Kagami said after glancing at me.

Shisui and his father closely resembled each other if it wasn't for the chin. Shisui had his mothers' chin, but the rest was his father. Uchiha Kagami stood up from his seat and when he was next to me he paused and whispered. "I believe you are not welcome in this compound."

"Why just now?" I asked.

"Do not think that we did not recognize you. It is only because of Shisui that you remained here this long."

He walked pass me and when I heard the sound of the front door closing, did I turn my gaze to Mother. She was looking at me before a sad smile came up on her.

"I'll get the bath ready for you. You should eat lunch before going."

I left the compound with all of my belongings with me, the ones I had with me when I returned to Konoha. I told Mother, I would be at Minato-sans' house if anyone asked, well that being Itachi, Shisui or Sasuke only. They were the only ones worth telling where I would be.

It was a bit early to be heading to Minato-sans' house, no one would be in the house, and I may end up being detained by the anbu if I enter without either Kakashi or Minato-san in the house. I may as well get started with one errand.

ooo

There was a splash down the river after I don't know how long I've been there. I lost track of time. I heard laughter before it was followed by a loud shout.

"Hey! What do you think are you doing!?"

"S-stop!" A small voice squeaked helplessly while there were grunts and shouts. "Y-you shouldn't be f-fighting!"

I walked in the direction of the ruckus to find Naruto fighting with three other boys.

"Hey! What are you kids doing?" I shouted that freaked the three boys out and they made a run for it when they saw me. I scoffed, bunch of cowards.

"Are you okay, Hinata-chan?" Naruto asked smiling while Hinata her pale brown yukata wet as she sniffed looking at his bruised face, when Hinata didn't answer with tears starting to form he panicked. "Wa-wait, don't cry!"

It was cute in a sense, but I should really do something since the one watching wasn't going to do anything.

"Oi, Naruto-kun, why did you make her cry?" I called approaching them.

Naruto snapped his head to me. "I didn't!" He shouted. "Oh, duckbutts' neesan" He said realizing who I was. "Ouch!" The brat held his head after I gave him a hit on the back of his head when I got closer.

"I have a name." I told him, Yondaimes' son or not, he needs to be disciplined. "I don't care if you have a nickname for my younger brother, but use my name."

"D-don't hurt him!" Hinata squeaked with her flushed cheeks.

"I was teaching him a lesson." I replied before turning to the bruised Naruto. "Remember my name brat that is I-RU-NA. Understood?"

Naruto nodded.

"Good. Come on. Let's get you to the hospital."

Naruto got to his feet and while we walked towards the direction of the village proper. The brat stopped and turned to Hinata, who remained rooted to the spot.

"You're not coming?" Naruto asked.

"I'm fine." She answered, but Naruto walked back to her and took her hand in his.

"Let's make sure that you are. There's no better place than the Hospital." He said grinning widely his eyes closing that made him look like a fox. Hinata had a small blush on her cheeks then as she looked at Naruto.

Ah, the beginnings of her crush for him, to be there to see it myself was warming, but when my eyes darted to the bandages on her forehead it was a different story all together.

"Duck—"

"Ow!" Naruto held his ear from the flick I gave him.

"I have a name."

"Did you have to do that!?"

"Yes, because I'm sure you're Father taught you manners." I answered.

"Oi, oi, what are you doing, bullying a kid, Iruna?" I heard in front of us.

I turned my head to find Itachi and Shisui together in the street.

"It's his fault for being rude."

"But you are duckbutt's neesan!" Naruto said aloud.

"Even if I was, I have a name." I said in a huff.

"What happened?" Itachi asked looking at Naruto.

"He ran straight into trouble." I answered with a shrug, which was technically true.

"Like you?" Shisui said snickering.

I ignored him before turning to my twin. "Itachi, can you heal him?"

"I don't mind."

"Naruto-kun, this is Itachi, he's a medic-nin and my brother. He'll look at your injuries. You can trust him and this guy too."

"Itachi gets a proper introduction, I don't?!" Shisui said pouting playfully.

"Do I need to introduce you?" I deadpanned.

"Uchiha Shisui, cousin of Itachi and Iruna." He said grinning at Naruto and Hinata.

That got Hinata to squeak. "Everything okay, Hinata-chan?" I said glancing at her.

"It's nothing." She answered looking at Shisui then at the ground.

We went to the park using the benches there so that Itachi can get a better look at the two kids. It was nice watching Itachi heal others. It suited him just fine.

"You two aren't with Sasuke today." I said to Shisui.

"He's with his friend." Shisui answered. "You know, the girl with brown hair up in two buns."

"Ah, he did mention that he found Tenten in the academy." I said holding my chin. He was bouncing in his seat that time. Giddy with excitement.

"Duckbutt has a girlfriend?" Naruto said then, the brat had been listening.

"He has a friend that is a girl." I said to him.

"Yeah, a girlfriend."

"There is a difference with having a girl as a friend and a girlfriend, Naruto-kun."

"No, there isn't."

"There is."

"No, there isn't."

"There is."

"No, there isn't."

"There is."

I heard Shisui chuckle as I argued with the brat. I glared at him before turning to the brat. Why the hell was I even arguing with him about this?! Must be karma with how I argued with Kakashi before.

"Naruto-kun if you shut up I'll treat you to ramen."

"Really?!" He shouted out of excitement causing some of the birds on the ground to fly away and loud enough for anyone near the park to hear.

"Yes." A mistake I was never going to repeat ever.

We went to Ichiraku ramen the only place Naruto-kun would ever eat ramen from. Naruto-kun swallowed down five large sized bowls of ramen, and Hinata-chan only ate one. She had declined to come at first, but after Naruto insisted that she come, she did. That also put a hole in my wallet as I paid for the five of us, because honestly how can these two shinobi not have money on them?!

"Sorry, Neesama." Itachi said when I came out of the stand with a lighter wallet.

"It's fine. I've been through worst situations." I answered.

"Like?" Naruto-kun wondered.

"Having my wallet burned by a fire jutsu. I'll walk you two home." I said to the two kids.

"I'll come with you." Itachi said.

"Same goes for me." Shisui added.

"I think it would be better if I walk them myself." I said. "You two know how the Hyuugas' are with the Uchiha."

"Like you're not an Uchiha." Shisui said with narrowed eyes.

"I've been there and they're not that hostile to me." For some that is. "And I don't obviously look like one."

"How did you end up going into the Hyuuga compound?" Shisui asked.

"Things happened." I replied with a shrug, the only ones that know of that night are the Hokage and the head of the Hyuuga clan. It did happened in the cover of the night and therefore kept as a secret. "Come on, Naruto-kun. Let's walk Hinata-chan home." I said before turning in the direction of Hinatas' home.

After bidding Hinata good night, I walked together with Naruto back to his house. Naruto didn't have to knock when he stood in front of the door. It was opened seconds later by Kakashi.

"I'm back!" Naruto told him with a large grin before he entered the house. "Dad! What's for dinner?"

I heard Minato-san welcome him back before I turned my attention to Kakashi. He didn't have his hitaite on, but he did keep his other eye closed and the mask is still there. What was surprising was that he was wearing only a black long sleeved shirt and grey pants with it, talk about monotone, but he looked relaxed in his clothes.

Huh, it was surprising that he had normal clothes. I always thought that the only clothes he had were his shinobi clothes.

"I can tell what's going on in your head." He said with narrowed eyes when I stared at him.

"You do?" I said before grinning. "Great, because the clothes you wear suit you just fine. You should wear it more often." I told him.

"Iruna-chan, can you help me set the table?" Minato-san called from in front of the stove wearing a pink apron, from what I know was owned by Kushina-sensei. "Naruto, wash your hands."

During dinner, I realized, Naruto was a chatter box. He was telling us about his lessons at the academy and how Sasuke has a girlfriend. Sorry, Sasuke. I said in my thoughts, Naruto would probably say that to him when he sees him tomorrow.

"There were also these three that…"

I gaped at him as he told his dad, the freaking Hokage, nicknamed the Yellow Flash that he got beaten up earlier by three kids, but he also told him about Hinata being pushed into the water. Still, the kid told Minato-san about earlier like there was no need to keep secrets with his dad, at all. I was sure kids usually hide those things.

"…brother, Itachi-san, healed my wounds and she treated us to ramen earlier!" Naruto said happily ending his story and Minato-san glanced at me with amusement in his eyes at the mention of ramen while Kakashi snorted.

Kakashi was on wash duty that night, while Naruto, Minato-san and I were by the sofas. Minato-san was explaining to Naruto that I would be staying with them from now on and that my room would be next to his also the changes with cooking and cleaning duties.

"Eh, but why?" Naruto asked curious at his age. "She has Duckbutt and his brother at their house."

"I'm not allowed to stay there."

"Why not? You're an Uchiha, aren't you, even if your hair grayed out like Kashi-san?"

"This is my natural hair color." Kakashi said dryly from the sink.

"I used to be an Uchiha, Naruto-kun, because I did something that for them was horrible that I was no longer worthy of the Uchiha name."

"Eh? That's just stupid!" Naruto spouted before shock came on his face. "Then does that mean you don't have a surname?"

Huh, so Naruto does have intelligence in him, he's not entirely a goofball.

"Yes."

Naruto had a frown on him then before the look of 'I have an idea' was on his face.

"I know! Why don't you take Kashi-sans' surname since you two have the same gray hair?" He said unabashedly like it was that simple.

"I can't just take his surname because I don't have one." I told him shaking my head, not allowing my surprise to get the better of me.

"Why not? You did fall at first sight with Kashi-san earlier." Naruto said almost making me choke on my own saliva. "You were staring at him earlier when you came in. Dad said he fell in love at first sight with mom."

I turned my gaze at the culprit of that story and he just smiled at me.

"You two can get married and you can have his surname." Naruto continued with such innocence.

There was a pause or time suddenly stilled for a moment but was broken by the sound of an object plopping back into the water.

"I am not taking his surname even if I marry him!" I blurted out.

"Oh, then you would marry him if he asked you?" Minato-san said teasing me or us.

Before I even replied or said anything, I breathed in and out to calm myself.

"Thank you, Naruto-kun, for being worried, but I don't mind that I don't have a surname. My surname doesn't entirely make me who I am. I am still me even without it."

"You didn't say if you would marry Kashi-san, if he asked you, Iruna-san." Naruto said catching from where his dad left off.

"The answer to that doesn't matter." I replied folding my arms.

"So, what if he does ask you?" Minato-san said.

I raised an eyebrow at Minato-san. "The answer to that is unknown because the concept is only a what-if, it is not a definite."

Minato-san hummed before his eyes went towards Kakashi who was keeping himself busy with rinsing the dishes.

"Naruto…your homework won't make itself. You'll find it on your desk."

Naruto slumped in his seat at the mention of homework. I chuckled at the sight, it may seem like an everyday occurrence, but what I saw was Minato-san watching out for his son even when he wasn't always around and also for me when he sent me a message to stay with them.

"Iruna-chan, we'll be starting with the seals every morning for two hours. If I'm unable to teach you in the morning, I will leave you a scroll for you to read on your desk over there. In the evenings, we'll have a recap of what you understood and we'll move on from there."

I nodded. Minato-san is the Hokage. He is bound to be busy with paperwork, and I can't blame him for that either.

"You can take a bath first." Minato-san said when he got to his feet. "I'll be in the study room."

The next morning, it was Kakashi that was making breakfast when I woke up and Minato-san was just getting ready to leave as he donned his Hokage cloak.

"Paperwork calling already Minato-san?" I asked before he disappeared.

Minato-san glanced at me before smiling. "Your own pile is also waiting in the study room."

I peered in the study room after eating breakfast to find there were piles of scrolls on my desk. Just looking at it, my estimation was there were ten scrolls. Well, that's a load of reading that I have to do, not that much as compared to the research that I did in the avian realm.

The scrolls were about the components of seals. They contained more so diagrams of different seals. They were comparisons between the types of seal that were made. I even recognize the basic seal for traps and the components with it. Most seal traps just needed two or three elements together for it to work, but the effect depended on the small components included. That was how I've been making my seal traps.

Each type of seal had its base, but there were some seals that were combined to make more complex seals. I never thought of that. I always used a basic base and never deviated from that or tried to add two or three types of seals together. I just added or removed components, and making sure the seal was balanced so it wouldn't blow up in my face. It was the same with the nature type seals Uzumaki Eishi made.

I was done with reading six of the scrolls, when I stretched my arms and glanced at the clock in the room to find it was three hours after lunch already. I should probably have an alarm or something, so that I still have time for other things.

I left the house and went to Yakiniku Q to eat a late lunch before I went to the river again, and later on was joined by Hinata-chan. Well, not that she did join me. She stuck close to the tree hiding behind it and didn't come out. That continued for the next few days, until she finally plucked up the courage to speak to me.

"Uhm, Ee-excuse me-e?"

"Yes?" I said turning to Hinata while I was knee deep in the water.

"Th-thank you f-for last t-time." She said her head bowed a bit, her shoulders were hunched forward and she was tapping at her forefingers.

"You're welcome." I said smiling at her, she glanced up a bit, but she immediately lowered her head afterwards her flush turning one shade redder. "I never did introduce myself properly, did I? My name is Iruna."

"I-I'm Hyuuga Hi-Hinata."

"Nice to meet you, Hinata-chan. Did you come here to play?"

Hinata shook her head. "I just like the river. It's quiet here."

"Isn't it also quiet at your home?" I asked while looking at the pebbles in my hand, scrutinizing one after the next before dropping them back to the river.

"I-It is, but I like it here."

I hummed in reply.

"M-may I know what you are doing?"

"Collecting pebbles" I answered looking at the pebble closely.

"Why?"

"That's a secret, but it's very important for me." I replied taking into account her curious gaze.

"C-can I help?"

"Sure."

From there I showed her the pebbles that I wanted and she helped me with searching. While there weren't that many good pebbles she was a good kid for helping me. When I was over at the riverside and saw her she would help me, sometimes she was joined by Neji. While what I know with their clan is that the head of the branch family would protect the head of the main branch, it seems to be the other way around with the two. When Hinata had fallen down, Neji was quick to check if she was okay.

Well, at least their relationship isn't strained like it should have been originally.

It had kind of become of a routine, if I was at the river, and it wasn't everyday that Hinata and Neji was present. But if they were they would help me and the same older Hyuuga would come to fetch them at a particular time of the day. The older Hyuuga didn't glance at me and just turned when the two kids were close enough to follow. Not that I was expecting a warm greeting from him.

I was done studying the diagram for a standard repressing seal and was on my way to the tower to see if Minato-san had lunch. That was my original plan, but then I felt that chakra, the same strange chakra Anko-san had. It wasn't her and without a thought I ran, jumping on the guy, the chakra came from. I pinned him down and pulled down the neckline of his shirt to find the same seal I saw on Anko-san.

"We must train harder." I heard to the side the other one said nearby. "If we did not detect her before she struck we would have been dead already if we were in enemy territory."

"Guy, this is not the time." The guy groaned out, but…

That passed my ears while I stared at the seal. It was only supposed to be Anko-san that had this seal. I was surprised that my hold loosened while I was lost in my thoughts and he was able to dislodge me from his back. I fell on my back and saw brown together with a black eye glaring at me.

"What's the big deal?!"

"Why do you have that seal?" I stared at him dumbfounded.

His eyes went dark and cold when I mentioned the seal. "Why do you know that?" He demanded. "Who are you?"

"Why do you have that cursed seal?"

"I don't owe you an explanation." Obito-nii spat, his eyes flashing in anger when he got up. "I don't even know you."

Guy got in between us, using his body to block me from Obito-nii. He wasn't even facing me, but Obito-nii.

"Obito, this is not you." Guy said calming him down. "You're in control of your feelings."

"I know that." He said looking away. "I'm going home."

Obito-nii walked away without glancing back, I made to chase after him. Intending to know why he had that cursed seal, but Guy-san blocked me. A serious look on the green clad shinobi telling me not to follow. We were in the busy streets of Konoha. There were civilians and children currently looking at us with curiosity.

ooo

The both of us went to a nearby teashop that sold red bean bread and mochi. It was small and quaint. The owner was an elderly woman with a young man serving. Three other tables were occupied by civilians enjoying the tea and sweets.

I stared at Guy-san for a while, it had been a while the last I saw him. He looked the same, but he got buffer and he was wary of me. The latter was my fault. It was normal for anyone to be suspicious if I knew something only a few know. The sound of cups being set on our table made me turn to the man serving us.

"Thank you." I said to him smiling.

He nodded before leaving our table. I held my cup and blew on it before taking a sip and placing it back down.

"How do you know about the seal?" Guy-san asked without taking his eyes off me.

"I don't know anything about the seal. The chakra of the seal doesn't feel right and rubs me wrong."

"You're staring, again." Anko-san said during one of our patrols, she was walking ahead of me and my eyes landed on the seal on her neck.

"Sorry, I…" So, she did notice that I sometimes looked at her seal, not like I was really hiding it though.

"The seal was a gift by my sensei." She said airily, like she didn't care, but her voice went down when she answered. "You've met him, didn't you?"

I nodded mutely, but she didn't see it with her back to me as we continued to walk.

"Planning on studying it?" She asked me.

"No. I…well…"

"I don't mind if you do, but you have to treat me dango if you want to look at it or whatever you do with seals."

I rolled my eyes at her mention of dango. Not surprising that she asked for dango. I can imagine it's the same with Naruto going on about ramen.

"I saw it on Anko-sans' neck, she told me it was a gift from her sensei."

Guy-san nodded. There was no need to mention which Sannin. It was too bad I didn't have any intel on where he is right now. I want to skin him alive, then again Sannin, I would be dead if I faced him by myself.

"I would appreciate it if you do not mention the seal with anyone else." He said to me. "Not everyone knows of it, and he does not like talking about it."

"I understand."

Silence.

"I apologize. I have not introduced myself to you. I am Maito Guy, and you are?"

"Iruna" I said bluntly.

Guy-san froze like a statue. He didn't move and I don't think he was even breathing anymore.

"Guy-san?" I said waving my hand in front of him. "Erhm, are you there?"

No response.

"Guy-san?" I tried poking his eyes only to stop millimeters from his eyes.

No blinking even. We were inside a shop. I couldn't punch him, can I? I decided to call over the waiter and order some red bean bun to eat while Guy-san remains in a daze.

"Staring at nothing makes you look unyouthful, Guy-san." I said after finishing my cup of tea while his was already lukewarm.

That got Guy-san to snap out of it, when he blinked. "I apologize." He said bowing until his forehead was almost touching the table. "I was not expecting that news, but it is wonderful to see you once more, Iruna-san. Will you be joining me once more for morning runs?" He asked with the same enthusiasm as ever.

We stayed in the teashop for a while talking about our own adventures. Guy-san would tell me the places they went to for their missions and what happened, but never in detail of what their mission was. In his stories, he was often with Obito-nii and Asuma-san. They were a trio, but with his latter stories, Asuma-san wasn't present anymore. I didn't have to ask. There had been rumors about the twelve guardian shinobi while I was travelling. What I don't know was, would Asuma-san even return?

"Minato-san" I said entering the study room where Minato-san was writing something down on a piece of paper.

He hummed without looking up.

"I saw Obito-nii earlier."

He froze for a second before raising his eyes to meet mine. "You've spoken to him?"

"More like jump him."

He blinked at me. That's where I told him about earlier and my hasty action.

"And you knew about this seal, how?"

"The chakra with the seal, it isn't mixing with his chakra, but…I could feel it."

"Have you always been able to tell chakras' apart?"

"Only after my hair turned like this. Why didn't you mention it in your letters, Minato-san?" That was the question I wanted to be answered.

"Because we couldn't have done anything aside from repressing the seal." Minato-san answered. "We would need Orochimarus' notes."

"Is it a lost cause with the seal on Obito-nii?"

"That is what I'm trying to figure out, if the things Orochimaru did in his lab shows anything. He must have used that seal with other people. He may even plan to invade Konoha one day..." He will, or maybe, well, I'm not entirely sure now. "…and if the effect of the seal…"

"Sensei, it's your turn." Kakashi said knocking on the door without opening it from the hallway before we heard the padding of his feet and a door closing.

"Well, the seal I placed depends on him if he would use it or not. We can only trust him on this. Now, you still have to apologize to him for your actions."

I groaned out, that was the hard part. How was I supposed to face Obito-nii, after what I did earlier?

"You can do it, Iruna-chan." Minato-san said patting my head before leaving the room. "I'm sure he'll listen to you."

I resigned myself with the task of apologizing to Obito-nii, but that was harder than I thought especially, when I touched a sensitive topic for him.

I showed up in front of Obito-niis' apartment and while he did answer the door, he slammed it right in my face when he saw it was me. I stood outside his apartment waiting for him to come out. Heck, I even tailed him when he used his window to leave his apartment. He got better at covering his trail, but if it wasn't for the chakra I would have already lost him. Where was 'him' listening to me?

In the end, he ignored me when I tried to speak to him. That went on for days, of course, I didn't do that every day, but I reached the limit of my own patience.

"Can't you just hear what I have to say?" I said grabbing him by the shoulder to make him turn to me.

Obito-nii slapped my hand off his shoulder as he glared at me heatedly and walked away. It was fine if he had told me off, but silence was more hurtful than anything else. I decided to just let him be and I turned around to find white eyes on me before it went over my shoulder then back to me.

"What?" I asked almost with a sigh at the end. I didn't even have the energy to be annoyed with him.
