My Life Would Suck Without You

Chapter 15

Janessa's eyes followed Caleb's to see what he was looking at. When she saw what he was looking at, she blushed forgetting that she had put the picture there. Okay so maybe she didn't forget. To be honest, it was really one of her favorite pictures of them. Her eyes looked at Caleb, who turned his attention to look at her. "I have to admit that's actually a pretty good picture of us." He said as she nodded her head.

"It's one of my favorites." She said looking back at the photo.

"Anyways look baby girl, I just really wanted to apologize for not really being there or trying to spend time with you. And I wanna make that up to you by spending time with you now and whenever you're free to hang out." Caleb said as Janessa looked at him.

"You know that's not necessary. I definitely understand why you haven't been able to hang out with us or me." She told him.

"At least let me make it up to you since I haven't exactly been there for you." Caleb pleaded as Janessa looked at him.

She was never one to say no to anything. It was one of the things that Janessa didn't really like about herself. She always felt like she was obligated to do what was asked of her. She cared about what people thought of her and always strived to remain on everyone's good side. When she really should have just been trying to be herself and stay true to herself because those who loved her would still love her no matter what. But when it came to Caleb, there was no way that she could ever say no to him. She never liked saying no to him. She enjoyed being able to spend time with him. All she could manage to do was nod her head and smile just as he smiled back at her.

"Good. What are you doing for the rest of the day?" He asked as she continued to clean up her room.

"Nothing really. Probably finish up my laundry and homework. You?" She asked.

"Just go to dinner with Sarah then nothing after. You feel like hanging out after?" He asked.

"Yeah that should be fine. What do you feel like doing?" She asked getting off the floor to fix her bed.

"Can't we be spontaneous for a change? Why do you always need there to be a plan, baby girl? Live a little." He joked getting up to help her, "Here let me help you with that."

Janessa raised an eyebrow at him asking, "And when has Caleb Danvers ever been spontaneous?"

"I can be spontaneous." He argued as Janessa chuckled.

"I'll be the judge of that. So what time should I be ready then?" She asked as the two finished fixing her bed.

"Midnight." Caleb told her.

"Caleb, it's a school night." She argued looking up at him as he chuckled.

"We're being spontaneous remember." He said as she shook her head.

"I'll have to ask my mom and dad, Caleb." She said.

"Okay, I'll see you later then." He said walking over to her and kissing her head.

Janessa blushed as he walked out of her room. She had to think about what had just happened. Had she really agreed to hang out with Caleb? Wasn't she upset with him? But she was doing this for Pogue. Shaking her head, she went to finish up her laundry before trying to think about how she would tell her parents that she was going to be hanging out with Caleb. Then again it probably wouldn't be a difficult thing to ask her parents. Whenever Caleb was mentioned to either any of their parents, they were easily allowed out of the house. It had to be because out of the whole group, he was the most sensible one.

Later that night…

Midnight,
You come and pick me up, no headlights

A long drive,
Could end in burning flames or paradise
Fade into view, oh, it's been a while since I have
even heard from you (heard from you)

Outside, baby girl.

Janessa looked down at the text message on her phone. Letting out a breath, she took a look in the mirror and double-checked her outfit. Denim skinny jeans, a cream colored knit sweater with a cream-colored tank top underneath, and some knee high boots. Her hair left down and make-up a little natural looking with the exception of red lipstick that brought out her brown eyes. Grabbing her leather jacket and purse, she walked outside of her room. Passing by her parents' room, she saw that they were lying in bed. "Caleb's here. I promise I won't be out late." She told them as her mother smiled.

"No worries, sweetie. Have fun & let Caleb know that I said hi." She said as Glenn shook his head.

"You know the rules, Janessa. Don't stay out past your curfew, which for today is 2. But really that means you best not be out too late." Glenn said as Rosalind chuckled and gently swatted her husband.

"Live a little honey." Rosalind said as she shooed her daughter away.

Janessa shook her head smiling at her parents as she shut the door. Typical. Heading down the stairs, she could hear Tyler and Reid in the living room playing video games as usual. She headed out the front door and gently shut the door. Looking towards the driveway, she found Caleb leaning against his car waiting for her. He couldn't help staring at her. She was beautiful. There were definitely no words to express what he was really beginning to feel. He gave her a smile as she blushed before walking down the steps of the front porch to greet him. "Hi." She said feeling her cheeks turned a little pinker.

You got that James Dean daydream look in your eye
And I got that red lip classic thing that you like

And when we go crashing down, we come back
every time
'Cause we never go out of style
We never go out of style

"Hi. You ready to head out?" He asked opening the door for her as she nodded her head, "After you."

Janessa got in the car as he shut the door and walked over to the driver's side of the car. Getting in the car, they both put their seatbelt on and Caleb started the car. Janessa looked over at him and asked, "Any clues to where we're going to be heading?"

"It's a surprise." He said as she pouted, "Hey you know that never works on me."

"It used to work when we were younger." She said sticking her tongue out as he laughed at her.

"Yeah pretty sure you were cuter than." He joked as she pretended to be hurt.

"That hurt just a little bit, Caleb." She said throwing her hand over her heart.

Caleb looked over at her as he began to drive out of her driveway. He definitely missed the whole spending time with her. They always had fun. She always brought out a side of him that he never really knew was there. She was always so lovable and caring. She always had such a carefree personality. "You know I've missed hanging out with. It's been a while since I've had such a good laugh like that." He said as she looked at him.

"I've missed hanging out with you too." She said as she smiled at him before turning to look out the window.

Thirty minutes later, Caleb stopped the car as Janessa looked at him before looking at the window. She could barely tell where they were because of how dark it was. Was his idea of hanging out literally kidnapping her and taking her to the middle of nowhere? Was he going to just leave her there? But that wouldn't be like Caleb at all. He would never leave a girl in the middle of nowhere. Caleb looked at her and could only imagine what she was thinking. "Relax, baby girl. I'm not kidnapping you and leaving you here." He said as she let out a sigh of relief, "Come on." Janessa followed him out of the car let him guide her to wherever they were going.

Author's Note: I don't own the song which is 'Style' by Taylor Swift. I just really felt strongly about that song today and needed to use it. It doesn't really fit in to the story I know but I like it and it seems to work for me. It made also appear in the next chapter. Anyways! I do hope you guys enjoy this chapter. I'm a little iffy on it. I thought it was cute while I was writing it and we'll see if I end up wanting to fix it tomorrow. Let me know what you think. I've got a few things up my sleeve that I want to play around with for this story. Anyways, enjoy the chapter! Leave some reviews. Thanks for all the reviews, favorites, and follows!
