Luan and Luna talked, Lincoln played his violin and revealed a secret of Luna's locket. Lisa talked to Lincoln and Luna about their relationship and her experiments.

So let us raise the curtains on the next arc of the story

Chapter 8: Lunch Lessons

Leni, Luan, Lynn, Lucy, Lana, Lola, and Lily were all eating lunch when Lincoln and Luna made it downstairs after their talk with Lisa. Luna shoved Lincoln into one of the dining room chairs and told him since he cooked breakfast for everyone she would make him lunch.

"Peanut Butter and sauerkraut?" Luna asked trying not to hurl at how disgusting that sounded.

"OH GOD NO!" Lincoln shouted quickly as a shiver ran up his spine. Watching a pregnant Luna scarf down five of those in less then thirty minutes turned him off of that for good. "Ju-just Ham and cheese, please." Lincoln stated trying to calm down. "Dear lord I never want to see another one of those horrible sandwiches again." He mumbled under his breath. All the girls traded curious and confused looks with each other.

"Are you like totes okay Linky?" Leni asked. "You've never been grossed out by your totes nasty sandwich before."

"Yeah, I'm fine Leni. Just something I remembered from a couple years ago before HE did that thing that sent him to jail." Lincoln started with a slight shiver before ending in a growl like tone. Just then the front door opened.

"Hey Loud family guess who got off work early and has all the stuff to make dinner with." A voice called from the entry way. Lincoln's eyes narrowed and his teeth clenched.

"I'm not hungry any more." Lincoln deadpanned as he swiftly stood and marched out the back door. Luna walked in with a plate with two ham and cheese sandwiches. "Where'd Link go dudes?" Luna asked right before Lynn walked in with a few bags.

"Oh sandwiches? Thanks Luna, you're a sweetheart." Lynn Sr. said before grabbing one and taking a bite. He looked around the room seeing looks on all the girls' faces ranging from confusion to controlled rage.

"Pops that was for Lincoln." Luna scolded.

"Whoops, thought he liked Peanut butter and sauerkraut though." Lynn Sr. said as he took another bite and walked into the Kitchen. No one noticed as Lucy slipped away from the table.

"Luna, do you know what Linky meant when he said 'He remembered something from a couple years ago before some guy did something that sent him to jail'? Wait was he talking about the guy who stabbed him? But then why was he totes angry at dad?" Leni asked.

"Dudes," Luna began with a sigh as she sat down. Lynn Sr. strained to listen in while making dinner in the Kitchen. "You have to remember Link was in a coma for a year."

"We know that." Lola huffed. "We want to know why he's acting so weird." Lana finished.

"For him it wasn't one year." Luna replied. Confused looks appeared on everyone's faces except Leni and Luan.

"What do you mean? He thinks it's only been a few days?" Lynn asked.

"Quite the opposite my athletic elder sibling." Lisa explained as she entered the room carrying a stack of papers. "You see Lincoln's mind was in a state of Hippocampal replay."

"Speak English." Lynn Jr. growled.

"I was," Lisa snarked. "In order to understand Hippocampal replay you have to understand that there are neurons in your brain that fire off when you are in a certain place and others that fire off when you are doing a certain thing. Hippocampal replay has to do with the neurons that fire off while you are asleep. The last neurons that fired in Lincoln's brain before he became comatose for a year were of him talking to Luna." Lisa explained.

"Okay so how does that explain anything except his brain was overheating." Lynn joked.

"You should leave the humor to our fourth oldest sibling. What you don't comprehend is that while asleep the body shuts down all neurons focused on moving the body and the info received via our ocular, and auditory receptors can now focus on REM." Lisa replied.

"GRRR, stupid science words, speak plain." Lynn growled slamming her fist into the table.

"His brain was even more active then usual. Meaning more time passes in REM then what passes in the waking world." Lisa deadpanned.

"How long?" Lola asked.

"Twelve..." Leni replied as she started sobbing into her napkin.

"Twelve what? days, weeks, months?" Lynn Jr. asked.

"Twelve years Lynn." Lincoln said coming back into the house. "Twelve years passed and I remember it all vividly like it really happened. I remember things that I hope and pray do not happen. Things that make me so happy, and things that make me just want to roll over and let the world end." Lincoln sat down next to Luna and Lucy slipped back into her seat unnoticed by every one save Lincoln and Luna.

"Tell us something that happened to each of us." Lola demanded.

"No wait I have a better idea." Lana said making Lola scowl. "Tell us one good thing and one bad thing that happens to each of us." Lola brightened up and nodded along giving her twin a high five. A chorus of 'Yeah' was interrupted by a 'heck yeah' and a 'Like totes'.

"Fine where do I start?" Lincoln asked.

"With Lori, She's like totes the oldest." Leni replied with an innocent smile.

"Lori huh?" Lincoln asked. "Alright lets set a few rules first. I am not saying anything of an adult nature since as of right now all of us are underage. Agreed?" getting nods from everyone. "Do you want good/bad things that happened to you guys or good/bad things you did?"

The girls all looked at each other before huddling together and whispering quietly so Lincoln couldn't hear. Meanwhile Luna leaned over to Lincoln and asked. "So what did Lucy talk to you about?" Which caused Lincoln to blush and hang his head in shame.

"I think you should talk to her about it. I don't want to hide it from you but it is her secret to tell. I don't want to hurt her but at the same time I don't want to hurt you either by keeping it from you so just let it drop for now." Lincoln whispered in reply. Luna eyed him curiously but nodded.

"We have like totes agreed on one good thing that happened to us and one bad thing we did." Leni said as the sister huddle broke apart.

"All right then." Lincoln replied. "Lori got married to Bobby they have... sorry had a son. As for something bad she did... well... she was indirectly responsible for someone else's miscarriage."

"WHAT!" All the sisters shouted together. Luna, Lucy, and Lisa paled as they could piece together the story. "HOW? WHO?"

"Well... about that. It wasn't her fault. She was angrily texting someone and threw her phone down on the couch before storming off to cool down. A person that we will refer to as 'The King' picked up the phone to give it back to her, but became angry at what the text said. 'The King' did something really stupid, and caused a certain person to have a miscarriage. Which in turn got 'The King' thrown in jail." Lincoln explained. You could hear a pin drop as all sound in the house stopped for a moment. Luna's eyes were dilated and her skin was a splotchy pale color. Luan stopped breathing as she mechanically turned to stare at Luna in horror. Lucy had tears running down her face as she realized the truth of the story. Lisa plotted how to make sure this catastrophe would never happen.

"Me next." Leni said near tears trying to break the tension in the room.

"Leni," Lincoln smiled. "You became a successful business woman with a multimillion dollar fashion company. And as for something bad that you did? The only thing that comes to mind is you buying each of us cars for Christmas one year." Lincoln stated a huge smile on his face.

"WHAT?!" The girls all shouted together.

"Luna's next." Lincoln reminded them all. "Luna found a man who loved her unconditionally and they had a beautiful daughter together. As for something bad she did, she tried to commit suic..." Lincoln started before looking at Lily who had cocked her head slightly in curiosity. "I... Lana, Lola, Lily can you guys go see if dad needs help please?" Lincoln begged. Lana, Lola, and Lily all pouted but relented when the older sisters shooed them out of the dinning room.

"Where you going to say that Luna tried to..." Luan gulped. "To go to the big rock show in the sky?" Luan asked in a whisper.

"I thought he was totes going to say she tried to commit suic..." Leni blurted before three hands slammed over her mouth.

"Same thing." Lynn Jr. hissed softly.

"Oh..." Leni replied in a whisper when the hands were removed.

"Yes." Lincoln said staring at the table.

"How? Why? WHEN?!" Lynn asked getting more and more frustrated.

"She took a length of cable that connects her guitar to her amp tied it to a bridge and wrapped it around her neck. Leni saved her life that time." Lincoln sobbed. "I was at work and it was Leni's turn to check up on Luna after what happened. I wasn't there so this is all second hand stuff. Leni told me she was driving across the bridge when Luna went to jump. Leni, you grabbed Luna by the belt with your left hand and with your right you used a pair of scissors to cut the cord. As I was so afraid of what might of happened I never asked why you just happened to have a pair of industrial strength scissors on you for no apparent reason."

"That still doesn't explain the why." Lynn huffed calming down a bit.

"Linc, let me tell them." Luna said looking at Lincoln.

"Are you sure?" Linc asked her.

"Yeah." Luna nodded. "Dudes Lincoln explained it to me when he woke up. It was after I was hit so hard by 'The King' that I lost my baby." Luna said sadly her eyes tearing up. Everyone gasped and the sound of a plate shattering on the floor in the kitchen could be heard. Lynn Sr. quickly ushered the girls out of the kitchen, before starting to clean up the fragments of the broken plate.

'The King' caused Luna's miscarriage?' Lynn Sr. thought. 'That story this morning, the way that Lincoln has been looking at me. Am I 'The King'? If I found out Luna was pregnant from a text message on Lori's phone would I get angry?' He asked himself. 'Probably.' he admitted. 'But mad enough to storm her house and hit her? There has to be more to the story. Maybe I was there to hit the guy who knocked her up and she got in the way? That makes more sense.' Lynn Sr. nodded. "I would never hurt any of my children on purpose that has to be what happened." He quietly said to himself. Lynn Sr. finished cleaning up the broken plate, checked on dinner, then headed to the dinning room to speak to Lincoln.

"Now it's Luan's turn." Lana stated.

"Luan, ha ha hahahahahahahahaha" Lincoln started laughing hard belly laughs so hard his eyes started to water. Luan huffed in annoyance, while the other sisters giggled softly at Lincolns infectious laugh. "Sorry, sorry." Lincoln breathed as he calmed down. "Luan got 4th place in a 10 man comedian competition."

"Why is that so funny?" Luan huffed again.

"That's not the thing that was good or made me laugh. A movie agent was in the audience and talked to Luan after the show and she got cast as the daughter of Robin Williams' Genie in a Disney Aladdin sequel. It did so well that over the next 7 years they did sequels to a lot of his movies with Luan playing his character's daughters." Lincoln laughed again, causing all the girls to laugh, as Luan stared at him with wide eyes. 'God I hope that happens for real, that would be the ultimate dream come true.' Luan thought.

"As for something bad she did. Luan spent almost all of her movie earnings on comedian memorabilia, and her joke store that she owned, ran, and lived above." Lincoln explained as everyone calmed down.

"Lynner Lynner chicken dinner." Lynn crowed as she danced around. "My turn, so what's the what with my future?"

"Lynn yours is going to be in reverse order. You got angry with a certain person in regards to keeping a certain bun someone stuck in their oven, and at me for sticking with that someone instead of agreeing with you so instead of stick around and play sports you ran to the nearest recruitment center and joined the Marines." Lincoln said closing his eyes and remembering the fight that caused it.

"You mean she left us? Forever?" Lola cried out, while Lynn and Luna looked at each other one in confusion and the other with her brow raised in somewhat of a challenge. Luan looked back and forth between her two sisters.

"No, after her four year tour of duty was up Lynn decided to teach Physical Education for the high school here in Royal Woods. The intense exercises and conditioning won state in almost every sport and caused an upswing in army/marine recruitment." Lincoln smiled and punched Lynn softly in the shoulder.

"Me next!" Lola smiled happily.

"Nuh-uh I'm older." Lana corrected her.

"Beauty before age, Lana" Lola snarled.

"Girls?" Lincoln questioned trying to interrupt a fight.

"We're twins you Barbie doll wannabe. I'm just as pretty as you." Lana snarled back.

"Girls!" Lincoln said a little louder trying to stop then from coming to blows.

"I am not a Barbie doll wanna be. You take that back you toilet troll." Lola spat getting right in Lana's face.

"Them's fighting words you runway model trash." Lana spat back. Lola growl and slapped Lana hard. Which caused Lana to jump at her and start a fight. Lincoln calmly walked around the table to the twins and having enough reached into the dust cloud stirred up by the fighting and pulled both sisters out by their collars.

"GIRLS!" He shouted as he lifted them off their feet. "Enough! I have had it with you two calling each other names and fighting all the time. Enough is enough sit down." They hesitated for a moment looking at the other sisters for help. "NOW!" Lincoln roared. They moved to their seat as quickly as they could and sat rigidly. "I am sorry I yelled at you two but nothing else seems to get the point across."

"Sorry Lincoln." They mumbled in unison.

"Now if everyone is calmed down. I believe it is actually Lucy who is the next oldest." Lincoln stated. Lisa opened her mouth to object but a hard look from Lincoln cause her to snap her jaw shut with an audible click.
