Alice Gone Madd: Explanations? What explanations... Kay never has to explain. People like her too much. XP

YamamotoFan: You shush, you got early access. XP

Two weeks. It had been only two weeks since the battle at Mission City, yet the Autobots were settled in, the soldiers returned to their families, and Sam and Mikaela fully recovered and reintegrated into society. Kay, however…

Kay was still unconscious, and Ratchet was full on stumped. The girl had recovered fully, with the medic stitching the puncture, rebreaking and resetting her ribs, and connecting her to an IV. Yet she still slept.

Her vitals were normal, as was her brain function. Ratchet was absolutely dumbfounded.

He stared at the girl, trying to figure out what kept her sleeping. He scanned her absentmindedly every half hour but nothing changed. Until now.

Kay's finger twitched slightly. Then her hands clenched and she began moving, stretching most likely. A few pops were heard as she did so and the action was followed by a groggy moan. The teen rubbed her eyes and stood, bending backwards. Ratchet was shocked at the amount of pops he heard, coming from all her limbs.

"That was the strangest yet coolest dream ever," Kay muttered, groggily opening her eyes. She froze as they focused on Ratchet's blurry form. "It wasn't a dream," she mumbled. Kay reached into the pocket of her jacket and brought out her shattered glasses, putting them on anyway. "You alright, Ratchet?"

"Did you just re-break everything I healed?" he demanded. Kay stared for a little bit then chuckled.

"No, Ratchet. It's normal for the human body to shift around like that after not moving for a long time." She then gained some understanding in her eyes. "How long have I been out?" Ratchet sighed and crossed his arms.

"Two weeks, femme. You've been asleep for two weeks." Kay sighed.

"Great. What'd I miss?"

"The soldiers left to be with their families. Sam and Mikaela have visited their parents, and right now Sam is bringing his carrier and creator here." Kay blinked, not knowing what 'carrier' and 'creator' meant. Ratchet understood. "Mother and father." Kay sighed.

"Wonderful. We get to calm a raging Judy down. How about Alpha and Jazz?"

"Both are fine," the medic stated. "Jazz had to alter his alt form so he didn't have a large gap down the middle and Alpha has been kept calm by Sam and Mikaela." Kay smiled.

"Great. Now, are there showers here? And preferably new clothes?" Ratchet pointed to a door near the back of the large room before helping Kay down. She ran to the bathroom, stretching out her limbs before finding the clothes. They were military issue, but they were new clothes.

Kay quickly stripped, freezing as the scar on her stomach was revealed. It stood out like the one on her face, pale against tan skin. She slowly looked up at the mirror, seeing enough of her torso to notice see the healing scars from minor cuts. Kay then grabbed her arm, pressing against it. Her muscles had grown, even after being unused for two weeks straight.

Clearing her mind Kay turned the shower on and stepped in, relaxing as the warm water pelted her back. She forced herself into motion, enough to wash her body before turning the heat up and leaning against the wall. Her thoughts drifted and her face blanked.

Where was Megatron, and the other dead Decepticons? How about Barricade, who Kay still didn't know where she sent? She glanced at her hands as she tested the strength of her powers. The yellow was now tinted light blue, almost looking like a lime green color.

What was that blue stuff she absorbed, that has most likely affected her abilities somehow?

Kay clenched her hand and shut the water off, exiting the shower. She quickly dressed and grabbed her jacket, staring longingly at it for a moment before throwing on the green shirt of the military slacks. Her shoes were worn to the point that they could probably only be used in summer with warm, dry weather. With a sad smile she set them aside and slipped on a pair of black hiking boots.

Dressed she grabbed her clothes and left the bathroom, surprised to see Ratchet gone.

"Ratchet?" she called out. No answer. Curious she left the room, still clutching her clothes and shoes, only to hear the unmistakable voice of Judy Witwicky.

"Holy mother!" the woman exclaimed. Kay walked towards the voice and reached a large hangar where the Bots stood transformed and Sam and Mikaela were trying to calm Judy.

"Mom, wait!" Sam called, trying to grab her. His dad stood in the background, just staring and silently dealing with the sight. Sam turned and looked up, catching Kay's eyes. "You're awake!" he exclaimed, surprised and distracted. Judy looked over and ran, grabbing Kay and guarding her, as it seemed.

"Uh, Mrs. Witwicky?" Kay asked, trying to make sense of the scene through the shattered glasses. "What are you doing?"

"Protecting you from those… things!" she exclaimed as if it was the most obvious thing. Kay smiled lightly.

"Those are the Autobots, Mrs. Witwicky. They're, in the simplest terms, sentient robots," Kay explained lightly. Judy was one of those people who needed the straightest and simplest truths. "They've been protecting me, Sam, and Mikaela, plus the rest of the world for the past few weeks. That one," Kay pointed at Ratchet, "healed all my injuries." Judy calmed and looked back and forth between all the Bots.

"You've been keeping my Sammy and Kay safe?" she demanded towards Optimus. Kay smirked at Sam when Judy used his childhood nickname.

"Of course, Mrs. Witwicky," Optimus rumbled as he knelt. "Their safety is a constant concern of ours."

Kay! Kay looked up in time to see Alpha running towards her in a mood that matched that almost of a pup. Judy's eyes widened but she held firm, staring at the approaching form. Kay stepped in front and held her hands out.

"Calm down, Alpha!" she yelled. The wolf skidded to a stop, nuzzling against Kay. Kay laughed and hugged the large head. "Nice to see you too, you big pup," she said. Alpha sat up indignantly.

"I am not a pup!" Jazz walked in behind, smiling with a bright visor.

"Glad ta see you're awake, lil lady," he said. Judy watched the interactions with a growing smile.

"Glad to be awake. Now!" she clapped her hands loudly and suddenly, startling many of the occupants of the hangar as she marched over to Sam and Mikaela and wrapped an arm around each. "Are we a couple yet?" she asked with a mischievous smile. The smile turned to shock when she only got silence in return. "Really?!" she exclaimed. "Ratchet! Why didn't you tell me?" Kay whined.

"I didn't think it important," he replied.

"It's our equivalent of courting," Kay plainly stated. Her heart skipped after she said the information but she didn't make it known, and neither did the Bots. Though Jazz did react.

"Well then, congrats!" he stated. Sam only blushed a deep red, making Kay laugh. The rest of the introductions went pretty well, with Ron being the polite father and Judy the far overprotective mother. When everything was said and done the Witwickys were led outside and waited with Bee while Sam turned to Kay.

"You need to come with to get some stuff?" he asked. Kay nodded.

"Yeah. Especially my old glasses until I get these ones fixed." Ratchet knelt beside the two.

"May I have a look?" Kay nodded and handed them over before Mikaela called out that they needed to go. Judy was getting antsy.

"Just keep them," Kay told Ratchet before jogging over to Bee and putting her stuff in his trunk then hopping in between the husband and wife. Judy grabbed her hand as they started.

"How are you, sweety? Sam said you've been asleep for the past two weeks." Kay shrugged.

"I'm fine. Stiff, as expected, but everything is healed so I can't complain." The rest of the ride was simple conversation between the parents and the new couple while Kay just sat back with a small smile as she absently rubbed the seat, Bee comfortably tightening the seatbelt in response.

~Glad to see you got your legs back, Bee,~ she breathed. The seatbelt around her tightened in a light squeeze before returning to normal.

"You wanna get dropped off first, Kay?" Sam asked. Kay glanced at their surroundings and noticed they were nearing her house.

"Yes please." Bee slowed to a stop and Sam exited, Kay climbing out behind. She quickly grabbed her stuff and waved the group off before heading straight for her mailbox. It was packed full.

With her revised load of stuff Kay ascended the two steps and grabbed the spare key, opening the door. Her warm house greeted her with silence. Stepping inside she set her clothes and shoes on the counter, skimming through the mail. One stood out, its letters hand-written instead of seamlessly printed. It was addressed to Kay, it's return postage originating from her grandparent's house.

Carefully the girl ripped it open.

'My dearest Kay,

Your grandfather has passed, and I wish you to come to the funeral on June 25th. I myself am growing weak with age, and wish to see my most talented little granddaughter, connected by my own flesh and blood. I heard about your mother's imprisonment and am disappointed, but I know how strong you are, and how you will be able to deal with this.

I have a request from your grandfather. He remembered your beautiful voice in his last moments and turned to me, grabbing my hand. With some of his last breaths he told me that he wanted you to sing him away, and that you would know the song.

I pray for your safety, with this attack on Mission City and reports of large robots in Tranquility.

If only your father were here.

Lovingly,

Grandma'

Kay stared at the letter, the tears she held in the entire ordeal forming. She sank to the ground and hugged the paper close, taking in the light scent of her grandmother's perfume.

The first years after her father disappeared, and before Sector Seven barged in and destroyed part of her life, Kay had only her grandparents as parental figures. Her mother ignored her, slowly coming to the conclusion that it was her daughter's fault for everything bad that happened to them.

Now Kay just lost the man she considered her second father. Yeah, she had three sets of parents.

Kay rested her forehead on her knees and began to cry, the tears first of sorrow. Then the sobs came, those of the immense physical and emotional pain she felt during the ordeal. Her body shook violently as she cried out to the silence of her house. They only subsided as she ran out of tears.

Slowly she stood up, setting the letter on the counter and grabbing her clothes. Kay ran up the steps into her immaculate room and put her clothes on the bed. She grabbed a duffle bag and shoved in enough clothes to last her a few weeks, plus her laptop, then put her old glasses on. The world was slightly blurry, seeing as they were an old prescription, but they would do.

Phantom pain ghosted up Kay's spine. She froze until the pain subsided then bent backwards, hearing the multiple pops. When everything was packed she brought it downstairs and set it on the couch, then took a deep breath. She turned and looked behind her, staring at the mahogany wood of her father's office. Only he was allowed in there when he was here, and neither woman had the courage to enter it after he disappeared. Until now.

Kay walked forward and grabbed the doorknob, twisting. It made a quiet click. She pushed the door open and looked inside. All actions stopped when she saw the technology inside.

Alright, time for another freak out. *runs around the room screaming in happiness* Fanfiction now keeps the formatting from my Google Doc! Yes! It was so annoying having to go through and italic some things, and bold others! In the words of Bee and The Pointer Sisters- "I'm so excited! *snap, snap* And I just can't hide it!"
