I have chapters saved up, to be honest, I'm just really worried I'm going to run out and truly leave this story to die. I don't want that, I've put too much of my soul into this. But, let's get away from that mopiness! Enjoy the story!

Kay sat against her couch, staring blankly at what appeared Cybertronian technology within her own house. How could it be here? Why was it here? Why was it in her father's office?

A dark realisation filled Kay. Her dad must've been Cybertronian. The realisation mixed with disbelief as she stood and grabbed her duffle, slowly backing out of the house. This was too much. Too much for one day.

She slammed the door shut and locked it, bolting for the Witwicky's house. Sam looked up in confusion as she ran up to them.

"Something wrong?" Kay considered telling him about the technology and her fears. The cons far outweighed the pros. She knew nothing about it. She didn't even know if it was Cybertronian technology! No, until she knew all she could she would keep it from Sam.

"My grandpa died," she said instead. Sam frowned sympathetically.

"I'm sorry," he said, walking up and squeezing her shoulder. Sometimes Kay needed a hug, most times she only needed to know the person was there for her. "I know how much you considered him a dad." Kay nodded.

"One of his last wishes was for me to sing at his funeral. I'm gonna do more than that." Kay grabbed onto Bee's trunk for more reassurance. The Bot rumbled slightly. Sam looked confused for a moment, but his widened when he understood the message.

"You're gonna play, too?" he asked quietly. Kay nodded.

"I just hope I remember how to. And if I can get access to a piano." Sam then glanced at the duffle.

"You're going back?" Once more Kay nodded.

"I don't really want to stay in my house right now," she stated quietly. Sam patted her shoulder, then pulled her into a hug.

"See you soon." Kay smile as she pulled away then patted Bee's hood.

"You think you could quickly bring me back to the base?" The Bot opened the driver's side door in response. "Thanks." Kay sat and buckled up, waving at Sam as Bee backed out of the driveway.

Kay casually placed her hands on the steering wheel, playing the role of driver as she thought over the entire recent ordeal. Something popped up as she did so.

"Why don't any of you guys use your holoforms?" she asked Bee.

"How do you know about… holoforms?" he questioned.

"Jazz used his to wake me after we first met the whole group. That was the only time I saw one of you guys use it."

"Experimental," Bee explained. Kay made an 'ah' motion with her mouth.

"Can I see yours?" There was silence for a moment before a young 20ish year old man appeared beside her. He had yellow blond hair with black tips, wore a yellow shirt covered by a black jacket, black pants, and yellow and black Converse. His eyes glowed Autobot blue.

Kay smiled as she inspected the form, causing it to blush. Then she laughed.

"You guys can blush, too!" Ducking his head the form disappeared in a shower of harmless sparks. "Oh come on! Don't be like that. It's cute!" Kay laughed. To Bee, the sound was magical, especially because it came after such a hard time in the teen's life.

"What was that… about piano… earlier?" Kay's face fell slightly, a thoughtful air coming about her. "Sorry," Bee immediately spit out. Kay laughed again.

"It's fine. I used to play piano, and was pretty good at it, with my dad. After he disappeared I did it less often until I just stopped."

"You should ask… Jazz… to bring… you to the music store. He would love… to." Kay smiled lightly.

"If you think so, then yeah, I will." The two reached the base and Bee opened the door for Kay. She grabbed her duffle and stepped out, thanking the Bot before he had to leave. Jazz was the first to see her, and his optics, uh, eyes landed on the duffle bag.

"What's that for?" he asked.

"I don't want to be in my house. It's too empty," Kay stated. "Hey, I have a request," she added. Jazz straightened.

"Shoot, lil lady."

"Could you take me to the music store every now and then? I need to practice a song on one of their pianos." Jazz smiled.

"Of course. Can I ask what for?" Kay hesitated, making Jazz feel as if he went too far.

"My grandpa died," she said as she stared at the plain walls of the small hangar. "One of his requests was for me to sing for him at his funeral. I'm going to play the piano, too, as a bonus." Kay chuckled dryly. "Hopefully I remember how."

Jazz watched Kay with a steady face as Alpha padded into the room and noticed her, walking over and nuzzling her. The girl had made such a huge impact in their group. Jazz knew he should be dead now. And he knew he would be if it weren't for Kay. He turned to Alpha. Heck, Alpha probably wouldn't be here either, and if she were she wouldn't be as calmed as she was now.

::Jazz?:: The Bot's visor dimmed as he answered the hail.

::Yeah, Doc?:: A light growl was heard over the comm and the saboteur chuckled.

::Can you ask Bee to bring Kay back to the base for a moment? He isn't answering my hails.:: Jazz glanced at Kay as she laughed when Alpha ran a slobbery glossa over her face.

::She's already here, Doc. She says her house is too quiet for her to stay there.::

::Well then bring her to the Med Bay. I have a surprise for her.:: Ratchet abruptly cut the comm, causing Jazz to raise an eyebrow behind his visor. Ratchet? A present? Oh yeah, Kay really was something special.

Kay glanced up at Jazz as he knelt and held a hand out towards her.

"C'mon, lil lady. Doctor Hatchet has something for you." Kay raised an eyebrow but obediently stepped onto the open palm, gripping Jazz's clawed fingers as he stood.

"Who is 'Doctor Hatchet'?" she asked as they started on their way. Alpha trailing behind.

"Ratchet, of course!" Jazz said happily. Kay chuckled. She should've known. She sat silently in the Bot's hand, staring ahead without really registering anything. Her fingers on her left hand floated slightly in the air, playing air piano. She practiced different chords for the song she was going sing for her grandfather.

Jazz pushed a hand out and opened the large Med Bay doors, alerting Kay to their arrival. She refocused on the world and saw Ratchet walking over, gingerly holding something in his hand. He held it out and opened it, revealing Kay's glasses fully repaired. Her eyes widened and she stood, tentatively reaching out to grab them.

"How did you fix them?" she asked quietly, feeling them in her hands. Something was different about them. They hummed with some type of power. "And in such short time?" Ratchet smiled while Kay pulled her older glasses off and replaced them with the refurbished ones.

"We're advanced robots from a different planet, Kaytlen. It wasn't too hard for such small items." Kay blinked many times as at first the glasses were blurry but they quickly focused themselves, shifting to Kay's eye's needs.

"Self-adjusting?" she said in surprise. When she saw the look in Ratchet's eyes she chuckled. "Right. Advanced species. Got it."

"That's not all. They are attuned to your heightened brain waves."

"I have heightened brain waves?" Kay asked.

"Due to our abilities," Alpha cut in. "They modify our brainwaves so we can actually mess with our surroundings without touching them." Kay took the glasses off and inspected the frames.

"So what do they do if they're attuned to my brain?"

"They change appearance." Kat raised an eyebrow.

"As glasses or can they become sunglasses?" Ratchet smirked.

"Anything with a lense." Kay pictured the glasses as visors like Jazz's except black and they shifted within her hands.

"That is so cool," she said quietly, changing them back to their original form. She put them on and looked into Ratchet's optics. Eyes. What is happening? Anyway, she looked into his eyes. "Can I see your holoform?" she asked. Ratchet turned a light glare on Jazz who only shrugged with a smirk. The Bot sighed and activated the form, his original body stiffening.

Ratchet's holoform was a man in his fifties with black hair dotted with gray and shining blue eyes. He wore a yellow shirt covered by a white labcoat, black jeans, and black sneakers. On his shirt were dog tags, one with the fine indentations of his name and the other with an Autobot insignia.

"Jazz shouldn't have told you about this," he said lowly, crossing his arms. "It is experimental and is very glitchy." Kay only smiled.

"Doesn't seem to have any glitches that inhibit what I would like to do." Ratchet raised an eyebrow, letting his arms fall to his sides.

"And that is?" Kay leaned forward and wrapped her arms around his neck, hugging him closely.

"Thanks for everything, Ratchet," she said quietly. In shock, the man slowly wrapped his arms around in return, not sure how to react. Kay let go and stepped back then knelt and grabbed her duffle. "Are there rooms that I can stay in?" she asked. Jazz and Alpha struggled to keep from laughing behind the two, leaving Ratchet to reply.

"The only private rooms are in here," he started, "but your government is moving us to a more secluded location. Optimus is actually conversing with the Generals right now." Kay looked around, as if searching for someone.

"What about Ironhide?" Jazz finally laughed.

"He's in the back, shootin' at stuff." Kay smiled as Ratchet dispersed his holoform and Jazz helped her down from the berth.

"Sounds fun," she stated. This time Alpha joined in Jazz's laughter.

Kay stood, hands on hips as she inspected the room. Plain walls, a single bed in the corner covered by gray sheets, a single window, and a light. The girl stared for a moment then shrugged, grabbing her bag and starting for the bed. With one swift and fluid movement she swung the bag onto the bed then turned to where Jazz stood in the doorway, waiting for her.

"Can we go to the store now?" she asked. Jazz nodded and dissipated into a cloud of sparks, Kay gaining goosebumps as she passed through the electric cloud. Jazz was kneeling near the door, hand palm up on the floor. Kay hurried over and stepped on it, latching onto the Bot's thumb as he stood. Jazz pushed open the door and walked out, but paused halfway.

"Be back soon, Hatchet!" he called before running a few paces. Kay could hear the growl that chased them.

"Why'd you do that?" she asked. "You do remember he's a medic and thus knows your every physical weakness?" Jazz shrugged.

"Yeah, but he wouldn' do that." With that Jazz transformed around Kay starting for the city.

Ratchet glanced up from his Med Bay when he heard an amusing yell.

"Jazz! I told you not to do that!" He chuckled with a shake of the head. Kay can do all his work, at least with punishment, as far as he cared.
