Chapter 9
Masky laid curled up in his bed before hazily opening his eyes, but inside of being welcomed by his familiar room, all he saw was darkness... A glowing red humanoid figure with horns emerged from the darkness with a dark, cocky grin, ~Hello proxy~ he spoke, sending a cold chill through the young proxy.
"Whose there!" Masky demanded as he looked around, not able to clearly see the figure.
~You know me, but you don't need to fear...for now~ the figured soothed as he watched the human amused and disappeared back into the darkness, enjoying the fear coming from the proxy.
Masky grinned his teeth lightly, understanding who was invading his mind, "I don't understand, why YOUR here! What do you want!?" he questioned as he turned wildly, looking for the figure he unfortunately knew too well.
~ I want your help proxy~ the dark voice said as the proxy stood shocked, "Like I would ever help you!" Masky yelled, horrified Zalgo would ever think he would betray his master and help the demon.
~Are you sure poxy...All you would have to do is update me on the Slenderman, his poxies, and ...~ Zalgo offered, trying to be as kind as possible to get the proxies cooperation, Masky was Slendermans right hand and knew all of the faceless mans secrets.
"His just a myth! And I am sure I don't want anything to do with you, monster!" Masky snarled at the demon/dragon born overlord of the underworld.
~Aw too bad, I guess I will find someone else~ The voice teased as it disappeared. Slenderman had two other proxies he could use, and if he killed Masky then one of the others would have to be promoted. The red glow disappeared leaving the proxy in the darkness of his mind. Suddenly a bright flame engulfed the dark, causing the proxy to screamed in pain as the flame licked his skin and surrounded him.
Hoodie laid in his bed thinking about the day and...Jack. His the only person Hoodie has ever connected with here that was not Masky. Speaking of which Hoodie wanted to speak with him and see how he was doing. The proxy moved off of his bed carefully so not to hit his injured leg on anything before opening the door that was between his and Masky's connecting rooms.
"Masky?" Hoodie called as he looked around to see his friend tossing roughly in bed like he was struggling, "Masky wake up," the younger proxy said as he shook him.
Suddenly Masky let out a agonizing scream that caused the younger proxy to stumble back as Masky wildly thrashed on the bed "Masky!" Hoodie said worried and frightened by the sudden action, "Masky wake up!" He whispered so the others didn't here him even though he was sure they heard the scream, he didn't want to get in trouble for being in here but it was at the point were he was about to go get Slenderman.
"Wasn't that Masky" Jane asked as she stood up and quickly went off towards the scream, the others quickly following after her and Mr. Creepypasta. She hasn't seen the proxy in a while but there is a very limited amount of people who has a scream like that and lived here.
Mr. Creepypasta quickly found the source of the scream before walking up to Masky and placing his large hand on the proxys heaving chest, "It's just a dream," He forced into the humans before mind before searching his thoughts for the reason of his distress and quickly finding it, "Your safe child, Zalgo can't hurt you while I'm here," he said soothingly to the struggling proxy.
Masky screamed as the fire hit him in his mind ~Ahhhh! Its not a dream! I can't wake up!~ He told the unknown voice ~Help! Please! Ahhh!~ he begged as he tried to move away from the flames but they consumed everything, they were all he could see and feel.
MrCreepyPasta forced himself into Masky position, absorbing the pain for him before tensed up at the very real mental pain, but knew it wasn't real, "I'm going to help you wake up, Masky. You need to trust me. Do you trust?" he soothed to the pained human.
Masky felt a new presents in his mind before crying out hearing the voice ~I cant move! I cant focus! It burns!~ he cried to the voice, wanting to wake up and stop the pain, that was all he could think about.
The blue man hummed before putting an aura around Masky in his dreamlike state so that the fire would not harm him, but intern the pain would enter me, "We have to find Zalgo," Mr. Creepypasta said out loud to the others, "It's the only way to wake him up," he continued before peering back to Masky's mind, "I will absorb the pain for you child...it still might hurt but not nearly as much" he soothed the struggling soul, "I will make you better, I promise," he said before leaving he proxy's mind before letting go of his chest and standing up and looking at the Slenderman.
"What's going on?" Sally asked through sleepy eyes and a yawn as she walked over to Masky's door where everyone else was gathered and looking in.
Eyeless Jack looked at Sally before stepping in front of her so she could not look into the room, "Masky's just having a bad dream," he muttered to her, trying to keep calm.
"Oh, when did you get back?" She asked as he tried to peek into the crowded room, not sure why everyone was gathered here for a nightmare, she had them all the time and didn't get the whole house to come.
Jack smiled behind his stained mask, "You don't sound very happy to see me," he joked as he crouched down to her level, she obvious was woken up by the commotion.
Sally gave him a flustered look as she glared at him, "I'm just tired!" she defended herself before looking towards the room again concerned, "Man Masky must be having a pretty bad dream if everyone is up here," she said as she held her bear close wanting more answers.
The grey skinned cannibal chuckled at Sally, "I was kidding," he teased before looking at Masky's room to see rise up and look at Slenderman pain written all over 's face.
Slenderman talked to about the condition of his top proxy before sighing deeply, "Ok, I want Jack, Jeff, Jane, and Smile to go. No one else," He barked as he crossed his arms and looked at the other's, not wanting to send any of them to the underworld but he also could not let Zalgo think it was fine for him to attack his proxies in his own house.
"I want to go sir!" Hoodie offered as he stood up and stepped away from Jane who was trying to comfort him, he wanted to help his best friend and he couldn't do anything from here.
The faceless man turned toward Hoodie and shook my head, "No, Hoodie. Your hurt, and you're not much of a soldier like Masky. Stay here." he order, keeping his voice low and tone stern. Hoodie was here for technical work and minimal task only.
Jack stepped in front of Slenderman and faced him, ignoring everything, "We need all the help we can get, and frankly we need someone who can be obedient. I'll protect him if it comes to it," the cannibal argued, his voice came out as normal as he could manage when speaking with the faceless demon, not a mumble or extremely loud.
Slenderman growled in annoyance, obedience is one thing Jack doesn't know, "I said no! And that's final!" he barked at the eyeless pest.
MrCreepyPasta walked up to Slenderman, which only made him growl even louder, "Let him prove himself. Let him come. I'm sure Jack won't make the same mistake twice. He never had before," he told the tall man, being caught up on what happened earlier. He could handle the burning pain much better than the proxy, but he wanted to hurry to cure them both.
Slenderman groaned, "Fine, take him, but I warned you he does not have the skills to survive and you will replace him if he dies," he growled at the blue man before going to Sally and picking her up, "Don't delay, I need my proxies," He told them, Toby was with Laughing Jack guarding the Seer until further notice.
Hoodie was slightly taken back by the uproar before smiling under his mask when it was agreed he would go. The hooded proxy ran to his room and grabbed a bag before packing some of Tim's pain pills he stole from him before tossing a few other things into the bag. He returned to Masky bedside before saying his goodbyes. When he was finished he went back to Jack, who was wishing Sally goodbye sweetly. He looked down slightly upset, he couldn't help but be jealous over the affection.
"Goodbye" Sally replied innocently then turned to Slenderman and hugged him as he held her.
Jack waved to the curly hair girl before turning to the crew who was leaving and followed behind them. They walked beside Slenderman who lead them to the door. looked back to see if everyone was coming, Jack, Jeff, Smile, Hoodie..."Jane? You coming?" he asked her as she grimaced and looked at Jeff.
"Yah" She grumbled as she joined them by the door, annoyed she would have to be close to Jeff for as long as this forsaken trip lasted.
Slenderman set Sally down before placing his hand on her shoulder, "I need you to stay her with Masky. If he wakes up, tell me. I have a strong connection between all of you, except him right now," he told her, something was blocking their link, "Be safe, Sally. We will be back," he assured her before turning to the others.
Sally sighed, "Okay.." she mumbled before going to the stair and took Masky's room to watch him.
'Hurry up...' Jack thought as he waited before looking at Jeff, 'I hope HE can put our differences aside to help Masky. I mean one can ONLY hope with Jeff' he thought to himself before sighing and looking at then to Slenderman as he joined them, "Slenderman?" I mumbled, getting his attention.
"Yes?" Slenderman responded as he used his tendrils to grab everyone for the journey.
Jack looked down, "I don't feel comfortable leaving Sally in...BEN's care. No offense but he can't protect...anything," he said as he looked at Jeff, mainly saying no offense to him.
Slenderman sighed, he was right. He couldn't face Zalgo in his state anyways, "Ok...I'll lead you to the underworld and then I will return to protect Sally, BEN, and Masky," he reasoned with Jack.
The cannibal gasped slightly, 'Him...really? I would have thought he would want to be the one to face Zalgo. Wait...that means he going to leave us with...'Jack looked at as he grimaced, great…
Jeff grinned hearing him, "About time you started trusting us," he mumbled then placed his hands into his pockets then panicked when the weight of his knives was missing, then remembered they were on the ground down stairs. Jeff pulled the black tendril away before grabbing his knives as he huffed, extremely annoyed about how the day was going.
"We ready?" Jane asked annoyed as Jeff returned who only flipped her off.
"Yeah lets go already!" He grumbled.
Jack smirked behind his mask trying not to laugh at the fact Jeff seemed so useless, 'I need to put our differences aside as well. Breath...just breath...' he thought as he slipped his hands into his pockets.
Slenderman nodded before starting to slenderwalk them to the well that would lead thme to the underworld.
