Eren x Kagome

The faint sound of blades was a distant echo, as Higurashi Kagome finally allowed her eyes to crack open slightly. Her entire body ached like she had not moved for an eternity, and she immediately found herself confused and wary by the darkness that surrounded her. 'What… is this place? It's so warm,' she thought, feeling her eyes grow heavy once more. She fought the need to drift away, listening to the increasing echo of blades drawing from a sheath close by.

The sudden pain that shot through her entire body snapped her eyes open, and she jerked against whatever force was keeping her still. Confusion and fear shivered up her spine when she found herself immobile, and her first instinct screamed that she must have been kidnapped by Naraku. Was he… was he devouring her inside himself? Her fear spiked to a new level with the sudden thought, and she began to pull harder on the restraints she had found herself trapped within.

"No…" she whispered into the dark, shutting her eyes tight. "No…"

She… oh god!

"NO!" She felt like she was falling in that moment, as she grit her teeth and felt her energy flare wildly around her. Hope danced on the edges of her mind when she felt her arm rip away from whatever was holding her in place, and she nearly cried with relief at feeling her fingers twitch. Her entire arm was tingling, but the sudden rush of hope that filled her caused her to push the palm of her hand up against the warm surface surrounding her. The energy she was releasing became focused and sure in that moment, and she could feel it spreading from the tips of her fingers and into the surface beneath her.

"Let… me… GO!"

The sound that echoed throughout her prison in that moment was sickening, as she felt the warmth at her back begin to stretch and give with the increase in spiritual energy surrounding her. Kagome felt her throat tightening with the sound, trying not to think about how powerful Naraku had become that he could withstand being purified from the inside out. She felt tears beginning to prick along the corners of her eyes with the thought, imagining Inuyasha raving about how useless she was even now once she plopped out onto the ground covered in blood and slime and whatever else. How very stupid she was for getting herself into the situation in the first place.

How… Kikyo would never have let such a thing happen to her...

Her brow creased inward after a moment, as she quickly shook away the thought and the tears that accompanied it. Determination and fury melded themselves into a deadly weapon that burned her spiritual energy deeper into the flesh that held her captive, having accepted the jealousy buried deep within her heart long ago when it came to the undead miko. Naraku would not control her with it, no matter how much of the Shikon no Tama he held in his grasp!

She would not die here!

The scream that left her was raw and wild, almost crazed, when her upper body suddenly ripped through the weakening flesh. She followed her first instinct to gasp in as much fresh air as possible, her dark blue eyes frantically searching for the evil half-demon that she was certain would be attempting to kill her in some other fashion in the next second. Kagome quickly found herself confused, feeling her energy spreading out into a barrier at the feel of something almost inhuman, as she spotted several people staring at her in confusion and suspicion in outfits she had never seen before.

Where… where was Naraku?

Where was Inuyasha?

Sango?

Miroku?

"...Shippo," she breathed. Her head whipped around, taking in the strange buildings that looked more modern than they should have, and she quickly felt panic begin to settle in at the unfamiliar surroundings. Where the hell was she? How had she gotten here? "Shippo!" she shouted again, hoping the little fox demon would come rushing to her side at the sound of her voice.

Kagome's search came to a screeching halt when she felt something settle up against the barrier she had instinctively risen. A shiver went up her spine at the strange sensation that shot through her, almost like there was a curse settling underneath her skin, and she almost hesitated to glance up. Her eyes flickered around at the people now beginning to pull more blades from the strange devices strapped to their sides, before she finally snapped her eyes up toward the large, human-like creature staring down at them. She felt her mouth open in a silent question, blinking rapidly, as the creature's mouth opened to try and eat through her barrier to get to them.

Looking away for a moment only served to confuse her even more when her eyes finally settled onto the giant, decaying face that had apparently fallen into the side of the building in front of her. It was almost like… like she had been…

Had she been inside of that thing?

Were they standing on top of it?

Just… just where the fuck was she?

"How are you doing that…?"

The language was odd, unlike anything she had ever heard before, and she was sad to say that she did not understand a word of it when she looked up at the boy refusing to look at her. In a way it sounded like English, but at the same time it was just odd. Like it had blended with several other languages and become something entirely new. Kagome allowed her brow to crease inward, more confused than ever, as she tried to decipher what in the world he had said to her and why he was turning red in the face.

She did not bother looking down as she pulled herself to her feet with a sigh, not wanting to confirm that she might have been inside whatever the hell the creature they were on top of was. She tilted her head slightly at the way the boy sputtered at the action, quickly beginning to pull at the clasp on the cloak he wore, and shook her head slightly. There was a more pressing matter of the creature attempting to eat through her barrier that she needed to deal with. It was odd that it was not being purified by simply touching it, but then again neither had… whatever had held her prisoner.

Looking away from the boy, she noted that there was one person outright glaring at her in suspicion with his hand tight around his blade. She huffed a little at the hostility, even as she muttered to herself that she would probably be suspicious if some strange woman had appeared out of something that was obviously attempting to eat her, too. It was best to try and make the most of the situation, starting with how in the world she was going to deal with the strange creature.

She was not exactly trained on how to use a sword, and none of these people looked like they were carrying around a bow and arrow. Maybe there was one in a house nearby? Hopefully one that had been caught inside her barrier! Though, as her eyes met the cool gray steel of the man glaring at her, she was not entirely certain she would even make it to a door before she found herself held prisoner again if she did not deal with the creature first.

A hand settled onto her shoulder, pulling her from her thoughts, and she turned to find herself caught by shockingly emerald colored eyes. Kagome blinked, feeling him press the cloak he had worn into her hands, before he quickly turned his eyes away from her with an even deeper blush. "Eh, ...thank you," she said, not understanding why he seemed so determined to give her the piece of clothing.

"What?" It was almost cute when the boy snapped his eyes back up to her, seemingly just as shocked by the language barrier between them. The way his gaze immediately widened, flickering downward, and he burst into a sputtering mess that sounded like it must have been an apology had her tilting her head with a slight frown. It was almost like he had seen her—

Glancing down at the cloak in her hands curiously, Kagome felt her breath hitch in her throat when she saw… her…

The noise that escaped her was almost inhuman, as she snapped her eyes up to stare into equally as embarrassed emerald colored orbs. She could feel her face darkening the longer they could not seem to look away from each other, both wide eyed and gaping like a fish, before she saw the way his eyes ever so slightly glanced down at… her…

They were all… staring… at… her...

"OH MY GOD!"

She wanted to say that she was sorry for the way she slapped the boy she would later come to know as Eren Jaeger in that moment, considering he had tried to give her something to cover up with. She wanted to, honestly, she did, but she found herself blushing furiously every time he began to blush and try to look at anything other than her whenever they were even in the same room together.

...it was almost a miracle Captain Levi even managed to keep them in the same room, because she knew that deep down Eren Jaeger was a pervert, and she was never going to apologize for that spiritually powered slap she had hit him with.

Never.
