Can't We Keep Her?

(Third Person Point of View)

Jaded moved restlessly in her blankets. Her jerky movements showed what kind of dreams she was having. Leo looked down at her with slight concern, she had been sleeping fine when she was in his or Aquarius's arms but as soon as she was put down she was restless.

"She still can't sleep then? I am not going to hold her forever, and you can't either." Aquarius moved behind him silently, she had put Jaded down a couple hours ago, claiming to have lost the feeling in her arms. Leo sighed, he was worried about her.

"You shouldn't worry about her; she's not going to be here long. You heard Seireiō, she can't stay. Humans can't survive in this world." Aquarius crossed her arms and rolled her eyes as if exasperated. Leo understood why, she may be cute but she didn't belong here. He had a feeling that Aquarius had a little soft spot for her because she called her 'Mommy' but she was right, Jaded couldn't stay. "Are you sure no one was in the area. What if her family is looking for her?"

Leo nodded; the area was empty except for the lizards that he had been called to battle. There was no one there and no one was looking for her. "Yes, I'm certain. The buildings were falling apart, some on fire. The town was deserted and in shambles. There may be a place in Fiore where we can drop her off." Leo couldn't deny the feeling of sadness that came with the thought of having to leave Jaded somewhere. She was cute, and looked as if she belonged there, making it easy to forget she's human.

"We should feed her soon and she also looks in need of a bath." Virgo said, reaching down and picking Jaded up. Leo nodded while Aquarius walked off toward Scorpio. Jaded settled down in Virgo's arms and it seemed that Virgo didn't want to wake her. Leo reached a hand out and put it on her shoulder.

"We should make her comfortable while she's with us. Would you give her a bath Virgo?" Virgo nodded and walked off with Jaded in her arms. Leo lightly shook his head and walked toward Sagittarius.

Virgo shifted Jaded in her arms. She had a distinct feeling that this child was special, she was Jaded the broken star. Jaded started squirming in her arms now awake and ready to explore, laughing at the cute Purū's. She tightened her grip on Jaded. This girl was going to change their lives, that she knew for sure.

"Stop fidgeting, you can play with them later. First young lady, you need a bath." Jaded seemed to get more excited if possible. Virgo chuckled softly while Jaded wrapped her arms around her neck.

"Are you my Aunty?" Jaded asked her, her voice giving away how tired she really was. Virgo felt her smile widened, yes, she really was special. Virgo nodded her head lightly, so as not to bump Jaded. It seemed Jaded was making her family here, among them. Virgo had realized some time ago that they could be rather terse with each other and what they really needed was to be a family. They were the celestial spirits, they were supposed to already be a family and it really was time that they started acting like it.

"Yes, I am your Aunty. You can just call me Virgo if you wish." Jaded signed and her arms loosened as she tiredly said "Aunty." Jaded needed a bath but she evidently need some more rest as well. Virgo moved her so that she would be more comfortable as she slept. Virgo wondered why she had been left alone, had something happened to her parents? Why was she in that village? What was going to happen to her when they left her in Fiore? Where they really going to let this gift fall through their fingers? But what else could they do. She isn't a celestial spirit, she really doesn't belong with them. It was just wishful thinking.

Jaded seemed tired and pale to Virgo, but as soon as the water of the Etoiles touched her skin, she seemed to glow. The water in the spirit world was not the same water you'd find on earth, in fact the water is like all things in the spirit world, connected to the heavens and filled with power. The water is known to refresh the spirit, and is commonly used to help heal a celestial Spirit after a particularly gruesome battle. While it is not uncommon for a spirit to glow when drinking from the streams, the power in the water is connected to the stars and the reason it gives power to the spirits is because of the shared power between them. Jaded did not share the power of the stars or the heavens, so the water should not have caused her to glow, she should not be feeding from the magic in the stream.

"She is weak and fragile. Where did Leo say he found this child?" The Celestial King asked Virgo, who had felt his presents mere seconds before. She turned to him and walked closer.

"He found her in Shirotsume, in an abandoned building. What does the glowing mean Seireiō? I thought only spirits could feed from the stream of Caelum? Look at her, she seems to be soaking up the very essence of the stars and the heavens?" Virgo questioned the King. He stood stiffly over the stream and watched Jaded carefully. He seemed to come to a conclusion shortly after Virgo stepped back. He turned from them and started to walk away.

"Call the Spirits to the hall tonight. Do not make any decisions regarding Jaded." He walked swiftly and was gone before Virgo could question him more. Virgo smiled softly to herself, she was right. Jaded was going to change things, and it was going to be for the better.

"I know you're all wondering why I asked you to meet me here. We have a little problem with our new guest. I believe Aquarius has named her Jaded." The King started talking ominously shortly after everyone was assembled. Leo looked to Aquarius, worried about Jaded. Aquarius looked anxious and held jaded a little tighter. The Spirits looked to the King, willing him to finish with his announcement. They worried not only for Jaded but for the damage taking Jaded away from them might leave. They had all learned to love her and cared for her. She had already started to affect change in them.

"We all remember the legend of Jaded, the story of a star that changed its very essence for its survival. It has been a marvel to us for many centuries. We have all wondered it's story, its importance to us. I believe now the story and its question of importance has been answered. I believe Aquarius naming this child Jaded was not by chance but by fate. I believe this child was destined to find us. This child has untold power, I sensed it when I first saw Jaded. Therefore I believe it is our duty to raise this child, to teach her our magic and our world. To raise her because she was sent to us by the stars."

The other celestial spirits were dumbfounded, this child was sent to them by the stars? How remarkable, and how much power did this child wield, to be able to learn to use celestial magic. It takes a powerful mage, one so powerful that never before had it been done. Yet, the knowledge that they could raise Jaded filled them with happiness. They had a child to raise, another member of their family. A great cheer went out and filled the celestial world. This was great news indeed.

Virgo seemed to nod, realizing that's what the King meant when he saw Jaded bathing in the Etoiles. She was sent by the stars, so the universe is what sustains her. So she would stay with them, she would bring the Celestial Spirit's together. She was the answer to their prayers.

Hey, This is the Full second chapter. I'm working on the third but I'm not sure when I'll be able to update. I'm getting back into watching Fairy Tail and I want to make sure all my info is correct for this story. I'll do my best to update soon.
