"Liv what are you doing here?" Elliot asked as his wife entered the office. His breath almost hitched in his throat seeing how much of a mess there was on her, it looked like she hadn't stopped crying. Her eyes were blood shot, her hair was a mess, tear stains marred her cheeks.
"I've got some of the case files back for you." She explained. "We've arrested the perps and handed the cases over to DA's office." She explained a pile of filed in her hand being passed towards Elliot.
He was very surprised that's she had brought them over to him and somehow, he knew it wasn't just to drop off the files.
She was nervous but after spending the evening talking some more with George and realising while she still wasn't in a great place she was improving that it was time to start dealing with her relationship and marriage and to come to decisions about how to move forward. George and she agreed that it possibly was now starting to hold her back because on the PND side she was making progress, on the complex grief side she was making progress but this was hanging over her head.
"What is it Liv?" He asked making his way over to her, he wanted to wrap her up in his arms but he was resisting instead getting as close to her as he could.
"Umm… well…" She fumbled her hands in front of her. "I'm getting better." She said and Elliot failed at keeping stoic, his face showing his surprise. "I am." Olivia repeated her eyes hooking onto his, conviction behind them.
"I'm glad to hear it." He said unable to resist reaching forward and tucking a strand of hair behind her ear making her quiver at his touch.
"But I think this whole situation with us is staling progress." She said hurriedly, his touch was reverberating inside her and she knew it wouldn't take much from him for her to fall into his arms.
"So what do you want to do about it?" He asked, his voice primal now, his blue orbs dark with hunger and Olivia felt her body ache for him, it didn't matter about the state of their marriage and relationship the bottom line was they were still as physically attracted to one another now as they always had been and their bodies ached for each other.
"I think we need couples' therapy." She said his hand now cupping her cheek and her rubbing her cheek into his hand. Her eyes were closed so she didn't see the flash of hope that crossed Elliot's face. Was she for real? She wanted to possibly save their marriage.
"Ok." Elliot replied, he was not going to say no to that because this might be the only hope he had of saving his marriage.
"Really?" Olivia asked her eyes popping open to look for any uncertainty in his face.
"Yes, I think it's a great idea." He replied smiling softly. Olivia couldn't resist throwing her arms around him and the minute she did the floodgates opened again, she'd missed him so much and every day without him felt like a life time. Elliot quickly grabbed her tight and lifted her in his arms to take her over to the couch where she could hold her better.
It wasn't long before her sobs subsided and she managed to compose herself in Elliot's arms, she was trembling all over and she wasn't sure if it was her emotional state or the hunger that he caused inside her that was causing it.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Elliot asked as he stroked her hands through her hair, hoping he could encourage her to open up to him a little.
"It's really hard at the moment Elliot. I'm crying because I'm grieving, I keep randomly bursting into tears, it started yesterday where it really came to ahead and it hasn't stopped since, but Dr Rosie says it's a good thing and I trust her judgement." Olivia explained softly basking in the warmth that being in Elliot's arms was giving her, damn she'd missed this so much. "I do feel better for it, like she said and she did warn me it was going to keep randomly happening as I came to terms with losing my Dad." She explained hoping Elliot would understand and though he really didn't at the same time he did. Liv needed this.
"What about everything with George?" He asked softly, he didn't want to push his luck in what she would tell him but seeing as she was feeling in a sharing mood he thought it was worth a try to see how things were going.
"Really good." Olivia smiled softly. "The CBT is actually working, it's amazing, it's only been a few days but I feel a huge difference at home already, I'm already finding that I'm more patient with the babies and Melissa and Nicole are something else… those girls… how did we bring up such incredible girls?" Olivia looked at him and Elliot couldn't help himself, he leant down and kissed her softly and Olivia was quick to return it, her heart skipping a beat in the moment.
God they'd missed each other so much, it didn't matter that they were separated they needed each other more than they could admit out loud under the circumstances. Olivia was the first to move, her hands fumbling with Elliot's shirt. He wanted to stop her, only because he wanted to take his time with her and make love to her and on the couch in his office he couldn't do that but then he knew if he stopped this now it would be the end of it until they started therapy.
It was animalistic in nature, except for the fact they knew to keep their voices down. Elliot penetrated Olivia as soon as he could as Olivia straddled his lap. She grinded on him while he pushed his hips up towards her. There was nothing but need between them, they both needed each other. They were ferocious, hungry, desperate. Their lips crashed together and their tongues fought for dominance, there was nothing romantic here, it was just pure sexual need. It didn't last long, Olivia crashed first tipping Elliot over the edge, he pounded into her until there was nothing left to give and she fell into his chest still pulsating around him. She couldn't believe this had just happened, it was not something she had intended when she'd come to the office that morning.
"You ok?" Elliot groaned as Olivia shifted on him, he was still inside her.
"Hmm." Olivia nodded, she was satisfied and was not yet ready to break the connection she'd missed having with her husband.
"God I've missed you Liv." He said breathing in her scent as gripped tightly to him.
"Ditto." She giggled softly. "Oh god what have we just done Elliot?" She was smiling as she spoke.
"Well…we just had sex in my office…" He chuckled softly causing his penis to move inside her which she groaned in response to.
"I came here to ask for couples' therapy, this is not what I had in mind." She said knowing she needed to break this connection to think clearly but she wasn't ready to do that.
"I found it therapeutic." Elliot mused and Olivia didn't need to look up at him to know that he was wearing his signature Stabler Shit eating grin.
"Hmm." Olivia replied back. "I need to get back before my squad sends out a search party." She said pulling away from Elliot. He groaned as he slipped out of her, already missing her warmth, comfort and familiarity.
He said nothing while they quickly dressed, they were lucky they hadn't been caught by his squad because the door had remained unlocked the entire time.
"So I'll arrange the therapy?" Olivia asked tiding herself up the best she could.
"Yeah… I think it's a great idea Liv." He replied trying to reassure her as he could see the doubt running through her mind reflected in her eyes.
"Ok… I'll see you then." He didn't get the chance to respond as she hurried out the office and all he could do was pray that she wasn't regretting what had just happened between them.
There had been a time when they would have sex in the office just for the sake of it, heck one of their twins had probably been conceived in Don Cragen's office. I was something they did for fun, the danger of getting caught, the secrecy between them after the act… now he stood in his own office feeling empty and deflated after a quickie with his wife on the couch. Had he used her? Was it about sexual gratification? Or had it been that spark that used to exist between them making a sudden and unexpected reappearance which had rendered them unable to control themselves.
Damn whatever this thing with having therapy would be he hoped that it would do something for them, whether it was mend their relationship or end them forever the last thing he wanted was to continue in this halfway house he felt he was in with Olivia right now. He couldn't pretend to understand what had been going on with her recently between the PND with baby George and the grief with losing Anne and Don, he knew that his wife had been to hell and back and he had no idea how much damage that had done to her psyche. Whatever it was though, in his heart he prayed that he could get her back, that the therapy would be the start of finding themselves again.
