Chapter 9:

3rd POV

As tonight turn into morning, Avery alarm went off. She quickly turns it off and saw the time was 7:50 am. She got up slowly from her bed and turn around to feel the empty side next turn her. "Guess he's gone again, wait why am I worried? Shit last night was better than the night before." She rubbed her eyes together and got into the shower to get ready for work today. "Another day another dollar" she mumbled turning on the shower head. She turns to her bathroom mirror and notice that she still had on her bonnet… Then Avery chuckled at herself and said "He still fucked me while I had my bonnet on? That's a first" …

2 hours later….

After Avery was taking out her twist braid and putting them up into a upward bun with the front of her hair laying on her left side as a little bang. She was wearing her favorite black pumps and black pencil skirt with a black and white button-down blouse. Her pearl was on her neck and pearl earring that were simple. She grabbed her purse, brief case, keys, and phone then headed out. She was turning on her morning songs rituals to clam her mind before going into work. It was stressful for Avery being the youngest even harder being the only few black lawyers in her firm. After her last relationship she really consume her life with work. She rarely spoke about what happen to her and her ex, because she didn't want anyone pity. She thought she was too strong for any crying around.

A lot of people use to joke saying she would never get married because she's a divorce lawyer. Funny how her and her ex never tied the knot, it was only a month before the wedding she called it quits. Avery shook her head away from old thoughts and starts to thing about her new case even further. Turning onto the parking, she started to think about Mr. Cena case and how she needs to start laying some ground rules not about the case but about the client and lawyer relationship. Some lawyers get involved romantically or just physical sometimes and she didn't want to be that type of lawyer, this was her career and it must be professional. She had called Mr. Cena before she got to work and told him they need to have a conference concerning that.

As she was walking to the elevator, Avery receives stare from guys at her workplace very often. She was gorgeous, brown melanin ton skin with a degree and successful, but men did find her intimating because of how accomplish she was.

Walking towards her office she said Hello to her assistance who said mouthed Hello back since she was on the phones.

1 hour later…

"What the fuck isn't he here?" Avery said looking at the time which was 11:45 am. "He was supposed to be here at 11:00 am." She said tapping her nails to her table, that when her phone started to ring, and she press it on speaker

"Yes?" she answered

"Miss. Wiston, Mr. Cena called, and he is busy gotten into a meeting that went over than except, so he said can you two meets somewhere closer to him for the conference." Her assistant said afraid of her boss reaction, but Avery didn't respond at all. "Miss. Wiston?,,,"

"Tell him alright." Avery said calmly. "Tell me where?" as her assistant finished telling her where to meet her client conference for their 1st official conference. After that was done she got up and mumbled "I hate when clients sometimes do this." She hated getting outside her office especially having conference in public places, and sometimes it can be loud which was irritating. She gathered things and went to the location of her client.

Avery turned what looked like a restaurant and tried to find parking spot.

Avery POV

I had gotten out of my car and I was happy it was a restaurant because it was right on time for lunch. As I was walking through the doors into the restaurant I was looking for Mr. Cena, I saw the front, so they can take to the right direction. It was a quiet place not too many people but fancy as well. The widows were draped in black satin with white linen. The chandelier lights up the building with not only with its bright candles but the diamonds that were hanging from its design. All the tables where draped in white clothing and chair from fine red oak with designs of gold stands. Thank goodness I am someone dress from this place. The waiters showed me to where the table of my client was and brought me to the table. My client saw that I was coming his direction and smiled then when I got to the table he stood up to greet me. I extended my hand out to him and he received it, but he hands had a little more strength in his grip and for a second, I thought he wasn't going to let go.

"Good afternoon, Miss. Wiston" he spoked with a beautiful smile on his face. I couldn't lie he was handsome. "Good afternoon, Mr. Cena" I replied.

I was about to take my seat, but he bet me to it. He pulled out my chair and I responded "Thank you" I smiled a little as he took his seat.

"Sorry for coming to your office at 11 o clock like we discuss over the phone this morning, but my meeting went longer than excepted." He said with disappointment.

"That's fine. I work around my clients schedule plus I had a client who owned their own business and had situations like this during their divorce process, so I understand." He smiled and had a sigh od relief.

"I still feel bad, I have to make it up. The first step is to pay for this lunch. Have whatever you want."

"That's ok Mr. Cena, I truly understand plus I'm about getting my client money not spending it." I said firmly.

"So, you not one of the grimy lawyers?" he said joking as I laughed a little "No, I just know my job and I do it well." I responded back to him

"I have no doubt that you do other things well." Said in a different tone as our eyes meet and stared at him but I cleared my throat. "Mr. Cena, ca we get to our conference and talk about you case please?" I said with a firm voice telling him I was joking

"I'm sorry if that made you uncomfortable. I never did business with a beautiful woman before like yourself."

"I'm sure." I said

That's when the waiting finally came up to prepare our orders. I had gotten the sirloin steak well done with the cut fried potatoes with the celery. Of course, I had to Woodbridge Moscato for my drink.

"Let me get the T-bone steak medium raw with a side of backed potatoes with your signature dark red wine." Mr. Cena said to the waiter

"Excellent choice sire" the waiter said as he grabbed both of our menus and went to then kitchens.

"Taking some of my choice huh?" I said as he looked at me with confusion but laughed a little

"I can't copy off of you." I gave a looked and he laughed some more. I always try to make my clients feel more comfortable around me that's why some of my client still keep in touch with me.

"Besides, steak did sound good." He continued to say.

"Now let's get to business. You need to tell me do you see you spouse coming after you in retaliation like getting profit from you company, the house, cars, anything that you feel that is rightfully yours." I asked him. He paused for a moment and his movement was stiff.

"Well, that is the thing, I have no problem giving her the cars she wants and giving her spouse support." He said plainly as I looked at him shocked and confused. Usually my clients want to keep their possessions and the get the money or and retain it not give it.

"So, you are willingly to give her spouse finical support each month?" I asked to make sure I heard him correctly the first time

"Yes. I know it may seem weird and I was hoping to not make it as much as a fight as possible. To be honest, the only thing I want out of this case is full custody of my daughter. If I give my wife, spouse support every month I know she won't put up the fight to give me my daughter." He said with a serious but afraid look on his face. My heart dropped when he said he wanted noting but his daughter to be with him. He was really made me look at him a different way honestly, plus I he didn't mention that there was a child involved. That's when I spoke

"I respect the results that you want. Have you already talked about this to you wife? I need to all know details, so I know what I'm heading into with this case." I told him.

"Yes, we have we agreed that I will give her 5,000 a month give her my 2005 Porsche and 2019 Lincoln. She said she will give me full custody of my daughter. This will be stated that in court and she said that her lawyer will be agreed on the settlement deal."

"Are you sure Mr. Cena" I said with caution

"Yes." He replied. "wow, this is going to be an easy win. Hopefully no surprise occurs." I said to myself

Our waiter finally got our food and set our food on the table as well as our drinks. As we were eating we was discussing more about the process and the other paper work his wife and him will have to sign once this is over. As we were talking about the money and the other things he is going to giver I was actually astonished that he is willing to give up a lot of expensive and money to his wife just to get his daughter. That's a caring father. It reminded me of mines…

"May I have asked, how old is your daughter?" As soon as I said that his face light up.

"She's is 4 years old her birthday is coming up in a few months." he continued to talk about his daughter and what she is like. I admired his proud father stance. In that moment he become more attractive than he was right now. "What am I talking about? This is very unprofessional he is my client" I said to myself in thought. I couldn't help it he had a certain charm about him.

"Do you have any kids?" he asks me suddenly. Stunned at the question I immediately answers "Oh no, I have no children" I said in a low voice.

"Have you ever thought of having any?" he said being very interested in my life. I took a moment to myself.

"Maybe, um one day, but right now I am climbing into the ranks of my career, so I don't see a bay anytime soon." I told him

"I understand." We continued our conversation and finished our meal. It was 3:15 when we had finished our conference in the restaurant. He walked me to my car and I told him what will happen this week. The court date will be announcing the day the official court date next week.

"Thank you for the meal with our conference, I've never been to this place before." I said to him.

"No, thank you for accepting my apology and for having the conference here. By the time my meeting was over I was hungry, and I still had to get to you, so I saw the perfect chance to meet here." He said while looking straight into my eyes. His blue eyes stared for a moment longer than it should, but I didn't say nor do nothing.

"Um, I will call you in a couple's day to tell when the court date is to know the settle and processes date. Ok?" I broke the tension between us.

"Yes, ill be waiting for your call." He winked at me and I got into my car.

I drove out of the parking lot and heading back to my office.

3rd POV:

Back at Dean house…

"Listen, I told you me and my boys are not doing the job if at least half the money is up front." Dean said nonchalant through his phone. He was laying on his couch watching tv on his 58' inch LG smart tv looking irritated at his conversation.

"Yeah, yeah. Now if you want to job done the by next week, I got see a 2.5 million up front or no deal." He hanged up his phone not letting the other person speak.

"Is it a go?" Roman looked at Dean on the other side of the living room that's when Dean heard a ring on his laptop that was already open. Dean checked to see what it was, and it was a notification.

"Yup, he just added the money to the account." Dean gave a smudge smile.

"Alright ill hit up Seth later." Roman said looking the window and continued "Man, when did you start living in a place like this? I didn't know you changed your style."

"Shut-up man, it was the only thing unavailable, but it's alright it will do for now." Dean said looking through his phone.

"You know you didn't want to live here until I suggested to move out here. You and Seth." He said annoyingly.

"I have my own mind, when are you moving on this neighborhood? Dean asked

"They said the house will be ready in 3 weeks. With said they said a month."

"Oh shit, that's actually really funny." Dean said giving out a laugh

"How the hell you gotten to move in faster than us, when we did the process first?" he said still made the day Dean got his stuff ready to go before he did. Dean always do shit last minute he thought.

" I know people." He put is hands in the air in idle. "Plus, I have this thing that you and Seth don't."

"What is that?"

"Charm" Dean was giving off a smirk.

"Oh yeah, how much ass did you get here already?' Roman laughed and Dean shook his head

"Too many to count" he responded as Roman look very interested outside.

"How about this one…" Roman motion to outside through the window, so Dean got up to see who his friend was talking about. That's when Dean saw Avery and another girl coming out of her car. Dean smirked at the sight of her, especially with being with her last night. He looked at Roman and said, "I like to keep that one to myself." He motions to Avery and went back to the couch.

"Good to know." Roman said even though he looked at Avery her friend that was with her caught his special attention. "What about that other girl with her?" he asked Dean

"Uh... I think that her friend, I don't know." He said going back to his laptop. Avery friend lighter skin tone with coily defined afro. Her small eye was rich brown and curves in the right place and some rolls but that didn't stop her vibe of confidence. She had on skinny black pants with some black wedges. Her shirt was dark blue and flowy and stop at her defined waist. Avery and she was laughing and her smiled light up his eyes in her beauty. As soon as they went into the house got his keys and heading to the door.

"Send us the signal to let us know make the plan." He said to Dean on the way out as Dean gave him nod to him.

"Let's us this doesn't get messy like last time." Dean said to himself. He went through his laptop getting ready for his job. He has been in this career since they were all teenagers. Nobody know about it, if they would let's just say their lives would be in jeopardy.
