Author's Note:

Hey there, everyone, it's been a long time; over three months to be exact. This whole month is a break/review from school so I have a lot more free time to actually work on this. During this month, I hope to have 4 to 5 long chapters (2000+ words) posted at the very minimum before classes start back up again next month.

Chapter 72:
Forgiven...Sort Of

...

...

Junior sat back on the couch with a yummy smoothie in hand and a small bowl of popcorn on his lap. The show was turning out to be more interesting than he first thought. It was a little slow in the beginning, but now it's starting to pick up and the fight scenes were pretty cool. He was starting to see why the show was increasing in popularity.

"What are you watching?"

Junior jumped in surprise, buttered popcorn flying everywhere. He quickly turned around. Luigi was standing beside him, with a curious look on his face. He grabbed the remote and quickly changed the channel.

"Uhm, wrestling,"

The plumber was not convinced. "That doesn't look like wrestling to me,"

Junior turned back on the TV. He was on one of those 24 hour channels that sell random items. Right now, they were advertising on female undergarments. Junior turned back to him with a raised eyebrow.

"Hey, I'm thirteen; what do you expect?" He told him.

Luigi rolled his eyes. "Right,"

"What are you doing here anyways?"

"Wendy's mad at me,"

"What, you called her fat or something?"

He mumbled mostly to himself. "Not intentionally,"

Junior snorted and continued eating his bowl of popcorn. "So, what are you going to do?"

"I'm just giving her some space," Luigi came around the couch and sat in the chair across from him. "I'm almost certain that I'm going to be sleeping on the couch tonight,"

'Hey, let's look on the bright side,'

'What's the bright side?'

'At least the couch is more comfortable than the floor,'

"Sucks for you," Junior said. He grabbed the remote and changed the channel back to what he was watching. Luigi turned his attention on the TV.

"What were you watching really?" He asked.

The Koopa shrugged. "Just a show I found on TV, nothing too special,"

"Seem special enough to have a marathon. What's it about?"

"I'm not really sure but from what I can tell it about these three different teams. You see, half of them can transform into these cool weapons while their partners, or Wielders as they called them, use them to fight monsters and evil wizards."

"What's it called?"

"Devourer of Souls,"

"Interesting,"

The two continue to watch the marathon, learning more about the show that gaining their interest. Near the end of the episode, someone else came running in. The two turned their heads to see it was Larry.

"Ah damn it,"

"Hey Larry, what are you doing here?" Luigi asked him.

"There was this hockey game I wanted to see and I was hoping to claim the TV before it starts,"

"Well too bad, 'cause I was here first," Junior smirked.

Larry groaned, "What are you two watching anyways?"

"Some show called Devourer of Souls,"

"Oh, that," Larry beamed. "I know that show,"

"You do?"

"Yeah, it's actually pretty good. The first half of season one was a bit slow at first but it gets better real quick, especially when they introduce Kirby"

"Kirby?"

"Yeah, you'll see what I mean soon," Larry said as he sat beside Junior on the couch. "We're actually not that far from the episode,"

'Hey you!'

Larry blinked. "Uh, me?"

'Not you...you!'

Junior looked between Larry and the TV. "Wha… me?"

'Yes you!' said the commercial. 'Tired of the all studying put in into the week?'

"Yeah?"

'Want to get your adrenaline pumping with some good outdoor fun?'

"Yeah,"

'Have a paintball gun but don't have a place to use it.'

"Yeah!"

'Then, come on down to Koopalis Paintball Park,'

"Paintball Park?"

'That's right, Paintball Park; with both indoor and outdoor playing fields, Koopalis Paintball Park is the place for some action packed adrenaline rush for you and your friends.'

"Alright, where can I find it?"

'Where can you find it you ask?'

"That's what he asked?" Luigi said.

'We located in the eastern district, just southeast from the castle,'

"Awesome, I am totally going there,"

"What...now?"

"Heck yeah,"

Junior jumped off the couch and ran outside the room. Luigi and Larry watched him go before turning to each other.

"He does know that that place doesn't open for another week, right?" Larry asked.

"Uhm," The green man turned back at the door but Junior was already long gone. "I'm sure he could figure it out on his own,"

"Well, since he's gone, I guess I'm now in charge of the remote," Larry cheered.

As Larry tuned into his program, he was unaware that he was being watched. Luigi was having a mental debate with Mr. L about Larry's hair. After arguing for about ten minute, Mr. L finally won.

'Dude, just tell him!'

'Okay, okay, I will,'

He sighed and turned back to the blue haired Koopa. "Hey Larry,"

He blinked. "Uhm, what?"

Luigi hesitated slightly. "Have you ever thought you'll look better... wearing a hat?"

Larry looked confused for a moment before narrowing his eyes. "It's my hair, isn't it?"

"I'm only being honest,"

"Your honesty sucks," He sighed. "Fine, I'll wash it off,"

"Yeah, I don't think so,"

"What do you mean?"

Luigi smiled sadly. "What do you think the word 'perm' comes from?"

"Uhm..." Larry thought it over. "Oh...Oooh," His eyes widen with sudden realization. "Aw shell,"

Kammy walked down the castle halls with purpose in her steps. In her hands were today's test papers, most of which she had already finish grading. Once she was in the conference hall, she made a beeline for Kamek's office. She knocked on his door and entered inside when she got a reply.

"As you ask, I have Luigi's test results,"

Kamek was working on some blue prints when he heard the knock on the door. He looked up from his work and turned his focus on her.

"Perfect,"

She hands him Luigi's test scores. He took the papers from her and looked through them. "So how did he do?"

"Pretty well, actually," She replies as she sat across from him. "Then again I did give them three weeks to study and practice his spells. Although, he did manage to help Junior with his studies, something I've been failing of late,"

"I see," Kamek scanned through the papers once more before placing it aside for later. "So personally, what do you think of his performance?"

"Well," She settled in her chair and crossed her legs. "If you really want my personal opinion, I don't think he'll be able to surpass you in becoming a powerful sorcerer, mainly because he won't live as long as you have."

Kamek nodded in agreement. Most don't really know about this but Kamek is the oldest living Koopa within the castle, surpassing even the two elders in age. The secret to his extended life was only known by Kammy and Bowser.

"However," Kammy continues. "I do believe he is intelligent enough to be able to make do with whatever he knows. Well, depending on what he learns now that is,"

"Hmm, I see," The head Magikoopa thought. He stood up from his chair. "Thank you, Kammy; your input is greatly appreciated."

The female Magikoopa nodded and stood up as well. "With that thought in mind, Kamek, will you be accelerating his training process soon?"

He nodded. "Yes, I will. And once I'm done training him, he'll be able to move on to someone whose teaching may surpass my own,"

...

...

Luigi opened his eyes slowly. He blinked a few times, trying to clear the sleepy fog in head. He yawned and stretched out his tired limps. Once he was done, he glanced around. He was still in the recreation room. It was dark, except for the light from the TV.

"I must have fallen asleep," He mumbled.

'You're not the only one,'

"Uhm?"

He glanced to his side where he saw Larry and Junior fast asleep on the couch. He sat up from his chair only to have something fall off his lap. He bent down to pick it and found that it was the TV remote.

"Oh, that's right,"

Junior had come back once he realized the paint ball park was still closed and gotten into an argument with Larry over control of the remote. It was quickly dissolve it when he claimed it for himself while the two were wrestling on the floor.

He closed the TV, causing the room to go completely dark. He stood up from the chair and stretched once more. He walked over to the couch and tried to stir the two awake.

"Hey two, wake up,"

Larry moaned sleepily and sat up. He yawned, "What time is it?"

"It's late," Luigi replies, "You should go to bed,"

He nodded blankly. As Larry heads back to his room, Luigi turned his attention on Junior. He spent another five minutes trying to arouse the Koopa from his slumber, but he was proving to be a stubborn one.

"Come on, sleeping beauty; get up," He mumbled, a bit annoyed.

Junior groaned and turned over. He mumbled something in his sleep but he did not wake.

'He's not getting up,'

"I can see that," Luigi sighed, "Alright, I guess I'll just have to do this the hard way,"

...

And by hard way, he meant carrying the Koopa Prince all the way to his room. After a bit of difficulty, he was able to lift Junior up and over his shoulders. Now he was walking down the halls of the bed chambers with the koopa on his back.

"Damn, this kid is heavy," He grunted.

'Well, he is Bowser's son,'

"Some time I find it hard to believe that he'll be as big as his dad some day,"

'Yeah, and he weights like… what a ton?'

"Eh, more like a 500 pounds – give or take,"

'You know, you could have just left him on the couch,'

"Yeah, but you know me I'm nice that way,'

'Too nice in my opinion; obviously we need to lose that,'

"Yeah, good luck on that,"

"Who are you talking to?"

The green man paused mid-step and glanced over his shoulder. Junior was awake now, looking pretty annoyed from waking up.

"Oh good, you're awake," He said. "I'm sure you can walk the rest of the way to your room,"

"Fine," Junior grunted as his feet touch the floor. "You weren't that comfortable anyways,"

"I'm sorry, all I can hear is... thank you, thank you, thank you,"

...

All the lights were out when Luigi made it back to his shared room. He opened the door quietly and took a peak inside. In the darkness, he was able to make out the sleeping figure on the bed.

Silently, he entered inside and closed the door. As quietly as he could, he tried to make his way around without waking Wendy. Once he was done all freshen up, he started getting settle onto the couch.

"What are you doing?"

Luigi's whole body froze. Turning slowly, he glanced over to the bed. Wendy was awake; her blue eyes half lit and foggy from sleep. He reply softly,

"Getting ready for bed,"

Wendy blinked tiredly before sighing. "Come here,"

"I thought you were mad at me?"

"I am," She yawned, pulling the covers over herself. "I'm just too tired to stay mad right now,"

He shrugged, "Alright,"

"But first," He paused mid-step. Wendy turned her head over her shoulders to look at him. "Lose the clothes first,"

Luigi slouched. "Do I have to?"

"Do you really want to sleep on the couch?" She countered.

Luigi frowned in thought before sighing. He did what he was told and started removing his clothes. When he was done, he started to climb into bed behind Wendy.

"All of them," She said suddenly.

The green man stared at her for a moment, trying make out in the dark if she had eyes in the back on her head. With rosy cheeks, he removed the last article of clothing. Once that was gone, he covered himself with the sheets. Wendy rolled over and snuggled closed to him. She hummed,

"Hmm, you're warm,"

"But isn't even cold?"

"So...?"

He shrugged slightly. "Sorry about earlier,"

"Don't worry about it," She yawned, "You could make it up to me in the morning,"

He smiled, "Of course,"
