Last Chapter: Eren discovers Levi, a small kitten in a box in an alleyway. Levi and he become friends as Eren comes to feed him every day. Levi finds out Eren is allergic and the reason he is sick is because of Levi, so Levi sadly leaves a crying Eren in the alleyway.

This time: Levi is in a bad situation, one that has caused him nothing but pain and suffering for 9 years. He's had enough. Can he escape the prison Erwin so carefully crafted? Will he ever meet his beloved sunshine?

Shit. Here we go.

As soon as Levi entered the house, Erwin grabbed him by his neck and pulled him into their bedroom, hands bruising as he began to hit Levi's sides and throw him against the door. "Levi, I saw what you did. You were checking out that guy weren't you!?" Erwin growled, eyes full of rage. Levi winced at the pressure pounding at his head and sides but made no sound, unwilling to rile up Erwin any further. Tch, this fucking guy… "It's polite to look at the person you're speaking to is it not? I had to pay for our food. I wasn't checking him out." He said calmly, monotone voice scratchy from this morning when Erwin forced his monstrous dick down his throat. Stupid motherfucking Erwin and-

"I think you were checking him out. You wanted him, didn't you? You fucking slut!" The blonde ground out, temper rising even more when Levi merely narrowed his eyes. How does looking at someone make me a slut? And I wasn't even looking in the first place! Levi had learned the hard way what would happen if his eyes strayed. One time 2 years prior, Levi thought he saw someone he knew, specifically, his sunshine. However, the boy turned out to be some random snot-nosed brat. Erwin had noticed him looking at the boy and when they got home, proceeded to beat him within an inch of his life, Levi was sure that day would be his last. Erwin took him to his friend Hanji who was a doctor and told her some bullshit story about him being attacked on a walk, he used this story to justify why he didn't let Levi go anywhere alone and sadly for Levi his friends bought it.

"Erwin, I wasn't-" He started but a hard slap to the face cut him off. "What did you just call me?" Erwin asked, voice deadly and low as he glared at Levi. Levi stood still for a moment, unable to move under the fear he felt and the pain now throbbing in his cheek. "I'm sorry, master. I was not checking him out master, there is no one for me but you. I love no one but you. I need no one but you." He repeated, memorizing each line from the sheer amount of times he's said them. Fucking bastard. Erwin sighed and nuzzled into his neck, ignoring when Levi suddenly stiffened at the contact.

"Yes, I am the only one who could ever love you, the only one who could treat you this well. Everyone else would use you, hurt you, but they could never love you. You are worthless without me pet. Now, I have some business to attend to before tonight so I must go. Get into that new outfit I bought you, the one with the lacey g string. I want you ready by the time I get back." He ordered sternly, letting go of Levi in favor of checking himself in the mirror and fixing his hair. Levi knew exactly what outfit he meant, however, what caught his attention was tonight. What did he mean by tonight? I thought we were staying here…

"Master, do we have plans tonight?" Levi asked, apprehensive of the answer when Erwin stopped and looked to him. "I was going to keep it a surprise but this is beneficial I guess. I'm inviting my associates to… enjoy your skills. It's all your good for and you need to pull your weight in this house." Erwin said flippantly, ignoring the horrified expression on Levi's face to instead walk out the door. "Oh! I almost forgot, tomorrow is your birthday isn't it?" Erwin suddenly remembered, turning to his dark-haired neko and smiling. "You remember our promise don't you?"

How could I ever fucking forget? Tomorrow was Christmas, Levi's birthday. He was turning 9 in human years, but about 26 in human years. Levi figured out early on that he aged much slower after he hit adulthood, and that he was about half the age of what a normal cat would be in human ears. So if he was a normal cat, he'd be about 52 years old in human years. But of course, Levi being about half human and half cat was maturing faster than a human, but slower than a cat. So despite the fact that as a human he should only be 9 years old, and as a cat, he should be 52, he looked and sounded like a 26-year-old. Soon to be 27 upon his birthday tomorrow.

"Yes, I remember our promise, master."

"Good, I hope you are ready, from tomorrow on we start our training in preparation for our new life." Erwin said almost sweetly to the untrained ears, but Levi could hear the possession in his voice, the monster hiding within the man and waiting to be let loose. Levi listened intently as Erwin pattered about the living room and shakily walked over to the body mirror hanging on the dresser. The man that looked back at his looked tired, the makeup smudging on his neck and onto his maroon sweater. All his clothes were long on him, ensuring that any bruise could be hidden from view. Even in the summertime, he had to walk around wearing them, otherwise, Erwin would throw a fit and beat him more. Right now it was cold out so lucky for him he didn't look out of the ordinary. With his black jeans and a tattered, old, red scarf he looked normal to the humans who looked at him.

Erwin had tried to take the scarf from him once, but Levi threw a tantrum and refused, even threatening to run away. Erwin did unspeakable things to the 15-year old that day, but when Levi still wouldn't give him the scarf he locked him in his room at the time and didn't let him eat for 2 days. Eventually, Levi begged for what was probably hours to let him keep the scarf, telling Erwin that it was the only thing he had from his mother. Erwin finally agreed and allowed him to keep it.

Of course, Levi would never tell him who really gave it to him.

"My sunshine…" He murmured aloud into the quiet room and smiled past his cracked lips. Even after all these years little Eren still manages to bring a smile to Levi's face. When Levi had turned into a human on that terrible day, he had climbed the fire escape of the building next to his box and climbed onto the roof. He had fallen asleep and was awoken by the cries of a child. When he realized exactly who it was he couldn't help but cry too. He watched as Eren screamed for him, crying for his kitten back. Watched as he tried to find Levi when he knew he wouldn't. It was absolutely heartbreaking.

Levi wanted nothing more than to run to his side and stop those godforsaken tears, but he couldn't. This was for him. If he didn't leave then he'd just get sicker and sicker. Levi couldn't let his need to be near him let him die. So he left the roof, left his sunshine, and walked until he couldn't take the cold any longer. He ended up in another alleyway, except this time Eren would never come for him. He'd never see his sunshine, his warm sunshine, ever again. He curled up in the corner and fell asleep, only to be awakened by strong arms around him. When he opened his eyes Erwin was holding him in his arms. Levi didn't know him at this point but he knew that he shouldn't trust anyone yet.

Levi cried out and before he could stop himself, turned into a cat. Neko's weren't unheard of, just rare. So what he didn't see back then was the fact that the only reason Erwin picked him up at all was because he needed to move him out of the way of a door. When Erwin realized what Levi was he quickly acted as though he was only helping him, knowing how much Neko's went for in the sex trade, and Levi naively believed him.

His vulnerability from his recent heartbreak allowing him to follow Erwin without any complaints. At first, he was very kind to Levi, always feeding him and talking to him nicely. Levi felt so happy he nearly called him his new sunshine. Almost.

After a few months, Levi finally realized what he was, a wolf in sheep's clothing. Erwin wanted Levi to get naked more often and would stare far harder than Levi felt comfortable with. Levi thought it was innocent at first but soon realized Erwin was a monster. He tried to touch and kiss him, saying how much Levi would like it, but when Levi pushed him away he lashed out. He beat him and held him down, saying that Levi would repay his kindness. But Levi knew that if he let the man have his way with him, he'd end up like him mama, breeding stock. He didn't want to watch his kids be taken from him, he didn't want to have children with a monster like Erwin. So Levi did what he could to bargain with him, he promised to do whatever Erwin wanted, as long as he wears protection until he turned 9. Erwin added that after he turned 9, he wanted him to be his husband, an to never leave him. Levi agreed, hoping that perhaps Erwin would become kinder, or that he could escape in a few months. Escape never became possible for Levi, and now sadly his 9 years are up, tomorrow he will be fucked until he eventually becomes pregnant with Erwin's children.

He had no one to turn to, and all of his friends were also Erwin's. The one time Levi managed to escape, a mutual friend found me and told Erwin where he was. They all thought they were dating, not that he was his literal sex slave.

But no matter now, the past is the past and will not be his future! Years ago he came up with an escape plan that took a while but should he never find an opening he always had his plan B. His plan B was his bedroom. Two large windows with metal bars fitted to them. Erwin used to keep the windows locked as Levi could slide through the bars easily as a cat, however, he tested him to see if he could do so when he was older and found he couldn't fit and left them open. However, Levi was watching a movie when he found out that if you pee on the metal for a long time, the metal will erode and break. For 8 years he peed on those bars, taking a rag and trying his best to wipe as much of it onto the bars as he could, waiting for years to see if they would finally erode and break away. He also would chip at the bars whenever he had the time, trying his best to be discreet as to not have Erwin notice and replace them. Thankfully, they were ready. Levi checked this morning and found that he could wiggle them significantly more than before. Now I just have to wait for that bastard to leave and I was home free.

Eren… one day… I will find you… and repay you for your kindness… my only sunshine.

Levi heard the front door open and close and he nearly cheered in happiness. But before he kicks the damn bars out he needs to wait a couple minutes to make sure he was truly gone, Erwin has tried to pull a fast one on Levi before but not today. In the meantime… I can take anything I need to leave.

Over the last few months, he's been taking money from Erwin when he was sleeping. Small amounts at a time though, to make sure he didn't catch on. But as of now, Levi had his $2,347 in cash and he even managed to steal his credit card. His plan is to go to the closest ATM as soon as he left and get as much money from the account before running. Running so far Erwin will never be able to hurt him again. Levi hid the money in a floorboard beneath the bed as well as the credit card, to ensure that Erwin would never be able to find them. After quickly retrieving both he went through his closet and found all the shirts and pants he wanted to take, a couple long and short sleeved shirts of darker colors and pants he liked. He only brought them as a basic necessity, as soon as he was able to afford his own place, he planned on burning all the clothes and subsequently all his ties to this shit hole. Levi quickly shoved the money in his pocket along with the credit card and threw a pair of black converse into the bag. He took off the stupid turtle neck and replaced it with a soft black t-shirt and a black jacket. He then took the red, old scarf and wrapped it reverently around his neck.

He looked in the mirror and not for the first time noticed how pale he had become. He had bags under his eyes but the makeup Erwin made him wore hid it pretty well, in fact without it he's pretty sure he'd look like a corpse. His eyes, every other time he looked into the mirror seemed dead, but now, they were full of hope, hope for a better future then what he was dealt.

Maybe I'll even see my sunshine… at the thought of seeing that brat all grown up made him smile and determination to make that happen immediately set in. With one last look at his appearance, he turned toward the window and steadied himself. They were shaky and with one powerful kick, they would give way. Levi had taught himself to kick and punch over the years, hours upon hours of kicking and punching the walls until his foot actually went through the wall after watching and replaying hours of karate movies and fighting scenes.

Under the window was a fire escape that led into the alley Erwin had originally found him in. The window was wide enough and long enough for him to fit through, it was just the goddamn bars in his way. There were a total of 6 placed about 2 inches apart from each other. All of them were still there but one, which fell off two days ago from the weak hold it had on the window. He quickly opened the glass window before backing up, ready to finally claim my freedom. He breathed heavily for a moment to calm himself before kicking upwards, hitting the first bar and watching it fall out the window with a satisfying clang.

Adrenaline coursed through him as he quickly kicked the next one and the next one, watching as they all fell through the window and onto the fire escape. With one last shout, he grabbed the last one and pulled. It didn't break off. "What!?" He growled, his heart nearly leaped out of his chest as he watched the bar wiggle, but that's it, it didn't give way. "No… no no no no no!" He cried, pulling harder and harder as he felt the metal creak.

There's no way it didn't work! This was it! This was what I lived for! The chance to see Eren again is slowly slipping from my grasp and I could do nothing to stop it. No! I will escape! I can't stay in this prison any longer! He stopped with a grunt and an idea leaped out at him, the bar was the last in line, big enough to fit the bag. He quickly threw the bag out the window, landing on the metal stairs below with a bang. At that moment he shifted, the familiar push and pull of his muscles and bones changing, his height shortening until he was a cat once more. With a swish of his tail and a shake of his butt, he jumped, landing perfectly on the window sill and quickly jumping out. Once he was on the landing he pushed the bag off the stairs and jumped down, his heart pumping a mile a minute at his first taste of freedom. I… I did it… I'm free. He yowled his victory, however, he quickly remembered that he is only a few feet from his prison and that he needs to get the fuck away before he gets trapped once more. He shifted back to human form and grabbed his bag, running out of the alley and onto the sidewalk.

Tears of joy prickled in his eyes as he quickly walked down the street. Just knowing that Erwin wasn't next to him, holding his hand or wrapping an arm around his shoulder to keep him close was a blessing. Being able to look forward and not down was another, and Levi was now on a mission to find the nearest ATM.

I'm finally free.

~ HRoH ~

An hour later Levi had all the money in Erwin's a bank account transferred into cash, giving him a whopping $98,739 in cash. Of course, that would never fit in his pockets so he went into the nearest bank and transferred it into a different bank account and card under the name of Eyal Kuchel, before booking it out of the bank in case one of Erwin's "friends" decided to make an appearance. He now had a total of $784 in cash so he could buy any shit he needed. Levi also found that all the bruises Erwin left behind and aggravated were actually hurting a lot, or at least hurt enough to make it painful to touch. I need to rest, the pain of it might make me shift accidentally which would not be good. After a while of walking through the city, he felt the familiar tremors of change underneath his skin. He groaned, holding back the instinct as long as he could and walked quickly into an alleyway. Whenever he felt pain, it was his body's instinct to change into his feline form, making it easier to heal and also so that he can run away and hide easier. It's basic instinct and it burns through his core the longer he holds it in.

Once he's out of sight from the people walking by he gently took off the red scarf and changed into a cat. His whole body ached, his ribs hurt from yesterday when Erwin basically punted him across the apartment. It hurt like a bitch but he'll live. After all, he's survived much worse. It was also cold as fuck so hopefully, it'll help numb the pain. He laid down on the scarf and mewled contently at how warm it was. This wasn't bad. Not even close to as bad as living with eyebrows. I would happily live here than in that dirty fuck's house.

A strong gust of wind had the cat shivering slightly. His little ears twitching as he buried deeper into the scarf before looking around the alley. It had a dumpster and some other shit but what caught his attention was the open can of cat food on the side. Why is there an open can sitting here? Next to said can was a little bowl of water as well. What the hell?

His stomach growled and he no longer cared where it came from, he just wanted food. He stepped out of the scarf before pulling it over to the food and quickly began to chow down, eating like he hadn't in days. He was nearly finished when the sound of a gasp and something fall to the concrete suddenly came from the street. Levi jumped, claws lengthening and back arching as he readied to attack if it was who he feared it was. Silver eyes met the most beautiful green-blue eyes and he saw that the loud clanking noise was actually another can of cat food and a carton of water. Is… is that… no…

"Holy shit." Eren whispered and slowly started forward, the most astounded and happy look Levi had ever seen graced his face. "K-Ku- Kuppuru!?" He asked, reaching out a hand for the shocked feline to sniff. My kitten, Kuppuru!

Eren. Eren is standing there. Right in front of me. Eren… My sunshine.

The little boy Levi had met was gone, and instead stood a man. He had grown up fine, with long brown hair that he kept in a messy yet neat bun, a dark green sweatshirt, black sweatpants and black combat boots being the only thing separating Eren from the cold December air.

"Kuppuru!" He murmured again before falling to his knees in front of the shook black cat. He couldn't even jump back in surprise, he felt like he was glued to the spot as he hesitantly stepped forward to sniff. "Kuppuru… do you remember me? It's me… Eren… I…" Eren tried again, getting choked down by a sob as the great joy he felt overtook him. Levi smelt him, his scent was a soft sort of salty smell and sunshine. The smell immediately caused his stomach to warm as he tried to not burst out purring. He really is my sunshine.

"I… I tried to… to find you. But no matter where I looked… you weren't there." Eren said and moved his hand closer. How does he even remember me? "I can pet you now Kuppuru. I went to every pet store and spent as much time as I could around cats, hoping the constant exposure would help me get over it. At first, it didn't work… but after a few months, I didn't start sneezing after touching a cat." He murmured and held his hand above Levi's head.

He's… cured? That means he can…

"Can I please pet you Kuppuru?" He asked and Levi looked into his beautiful jewel-like eyes. They were filled with happiness and relief as Levi looked up at the hand above him, quick to push himself onto his hind legs and rub his head against him. Levi couldn't hold back the loud purr that ripped through him as he arched into his touch.

Fuck… it's better than I imagined it would be. His hands were warm and they caressed his smaller form perfectly. Eren went and pet his whole body, grabbing the tail gently and pulling his lower half off the ground for a moment before letting go. That sent pleasurable tingles all throughout his spine and he mewled loudly. I never knew being touched like this could feel so nice. Levi thought, arching impossibly higher to try and get closer to the friendly hand. Every time Erwin had pet him in the past it was rough and hard, often leading to Levi being forced into his semi-human form to fuck anyway. Nasty fucking pervert. But Eren's hands were nice. He brought his nails down on certain strokes to really give him a good scratch, his whole body falling over to show off his stomach for the boy. Fuck… is this how all cats feel? No wonder they trail their humans like that in movies and shows. If Eren would do this anytime I wanted… Levi's purring got even louder as the boy smartly avoided his stomach and began stroking the bridge of his little nose and forehead. Eren laughed through the tears that had finally stopped sliding down his beautiful face. "Like that don't you?" He asked happily, hands feeling like they were everywhere at once.

I've never felt so relaxed before… Damn, he has such a nice voice now too. It's not too deep but it's not high pitched either. His face definitely matured over the years and I'm pretty sure if I were a man I would have a boner right now. Holy fuck where did THAT thought come from?! He ignored his mind's dirty train of thought to focus on Eren when he felt him start to play with his ears. Oh fuck that feels really, really good.

As he rolled around and reveled in his touch, Eren seemed to notice the scarf beneath him and slowly stopped. "You… kept the scarf? Didn't your owner take it off?" He asked and leaned down, wrapping his hand underneath Levi's upper half and slowly lifting him. What…?

Before Levi had time to process what was happening, Eren had run his free hand down his side in an, oh so delicious way before cupping his back paws. While normally Levi would probably pass out from the sheer excitement he felt from being held by Eren, his front and back leg were aching. He stayed quiet for as long as he could, the pain intensifying in his front leg until he let out a loud cry that had Eren tensing. "Are you hurt? Shit, I didn't even consider that! Of course, if you're walking around outside you probably don't have an owner anymore. Poor kitty…" Eren cooed, gently shifting the injured feline to lay in his arms like a baby as he sat down on the ground. After ensuring the purring feline was cozy, he leaned forward and grabbed his old scarf, finding that there was actually lettering inside.
Levi merely looked at Eren's face, watching his eyes narrow as he tried to read the faded handwriting.

"L… Le… vi? Levi…? Oh Levi! As in the name! Was that your owner? No… more likely it's what they decided to name you. I don't see an address..." He murmured and stared at the cat thoughtfully. Yeah, it is my name. And if he says it one more I'm gonna fucking keel over. Eren stared down at Levi for a long time before scratching his chin and effectively tilting his head up.

"Aha! You do have a white ring around your neck with a little triangle! Kind of like a… hmm what's it called… a cravat! My favorite character from my favorite book wears a cravat! His name is also Levi! He's a captain or Corporal… Corporal and Kuppuru sound similar right? I'll call you Corporal Levi!" He said with a smile. Wow… it's actually not that bad of a name. Corporal Levi… I like it. Levi meowed out his contentment but let out a slight hiss when Eren's arm constricted a little too tightly on his leg. Damn fucking shitty ass eyebrow bitch-

"Oh you poor thing! Alright, that settles it. I'm taking you to the vet. Who knows how long you've been out here!" He murmured and Levi meowed in agreement. He was taking me home. How many times have I dreamed of exactly this? And it's finally happening! He picked up the scarf and gently placed it on Levi's exposed tummy, standing up as slowly as he could to ensure he wouldn't hurt the cute cat.

Eren whispered sweet promises as they walked about food and water and a warm bed when he got them home. "I'm going to spoil you rotten when we get home Corporal Levi! I'll make sure you're the healthiest, happiest cat in the whole world!" He promised, leaning down to kiss the cat right on the nose. The heat it brought was enough for Levi to think it was summertime, the total relaxation he felt, the pain slowly ebbing away as the two walked down the road.

Home… I have a home now… and it's with my sunshine.

You are my sunshine Eren… My only Sunshine.
