Power Rangers Super Samurai vs Ronin Warriors

Keep in mind that the "vs" in the title doesn't necessarily mean they'll fight each other. It's meant more in the vein of sentai teamups where the team before the versus is the "home" team and the one after it is the "visiting" team. Five years after the defeat of Xandred, a mysterious letter shows up on Jayden's doorstep, the Samurai are thrust into someone else's conflict!

33. From Bad to Worse

Power Rangers Super Samurai vs. Ronin Warriors

Chapter 33: From Bad to Worse.

"Okay, let me see if I have this straight. Not only is Jayden still missing, but Yuri, Suiren, Ran, and Mia are trapped in a giant sandcastle on the beach?" Mentor Ji replied exasperatedly.

"I'd say things have gone from bad to worse," Kevin observed. "The question is, what do we do about it?"

"If we add Navcase, we'd have eight of us total: Myself, Ayame, Lauren, Emily, Kevin, Mike, Antonio, and then Navcase."

"That's true, but we can't understand Navcase to save our lives." Mike reminded them.

"He can come with Lauren, me and Ayame, we'll storm the castle and try and get that monster to come out, while you guys and Emily go look for Jayden. I'll have Ayame send the locations to your Samuraizers."

"You guys take the SUV. We'll go high profile to the beach." Sakura suggested.

Meanwhile, back in Japan…

"We've got to get to Panorama City to stop that Minusaur before it gets big, but where are we going to get the money to pay for airfare?" Asuna wondered.

"Well, there are sites you can upload videos to where you get money for likes. I'm sure that would work!"

"But what could we upload?" Melt wondered.

The five Ryusoulgers and Ui contemplated for a moment, before Koh blurted out, "I've got it!"

Seconds later, Koh was sent flying through the air and out the front door by Asuna.

"WE ARE NOT DOING THAT!"

"Don't worry Asuna-chan! I just posted a video of you throwing Koh out the front door, and it went viral already! I'll go to book the tickets!"

"Niisan, do you think that was Koh's plan all along?" Towa asked Bamba.

"No, I don't think he planned for that."

Back in Panorama, the girls and Navcase flew to the beach and landed it the parking lot, which was still guarded by the strange foot soldiers and the mushroom headed being named Kureon.

"Well well well, it looks like you brought some friends this time! Doesn't matter, they can become beach stuff too! OI, MINUSAUR!"

The hermit crab monster wielding a beach shovel emerged from his castle.

"Careful everyone. According to my armor's sensors, the Minusaur is stronger than he was when I fought him before."

"How could that be possible?" Lauren wondered as a globe of green energy flew out of one of the castle's turrets and into the monster!

"Something in that castle is making the monster stronger!" Navcase exclaimed in Japanese.

"PING PONG! I pour my goo down the mouth of an unsuspecting human, and their desires give birth to a Minusaur!"

"Wait for a sec…could that thing have come from Suiren's desire not to fight monsters and just lay on the beach all day?" Sakura wondered.

"As crazy as it sounds, you might be on to something sis. Whenever it was about to turn someone into a beach item, it shouted 'I love the beach!' "

"That definitely sounds like Suiren," Lauren observed.

"Ayame, does hurting it hurt Suiren?" Sakura asked.

"Not that I'm aware of, then again she's probably in there somewhere," Ayame replied, pointing to the castle.

"Good," Sakura replied, taking out her beam swords, igniting them and then gathering energy in her cannons, "I don't have to hold back!"

Four charged shots and two cross slashes forming an 'x" went flying at the Minusaur, causing a massive explosion, but when it cleared, the monster was still there!

"What the…?" Sakura replied in disbelief.

"Sakura, watch out!" Ayame called out.

"AISHTERU BEACHUUU!" The Minusaur declared, firing a beam from his shovel that turned Sakura into a beach towel decorated with cherry blossoms.

Lauren brought out the Double Disc, and spun it, giving herself an extra Spin Sword, then attached her Lion Disc and the Lightning Disc to either sword and turned those, energizing the blades with both fire and lightning, and struck with a two-stroke attack.

"Blazing Strike!"

The Minusaur knocked her away with his beach shovel, and then turned her into a Power Rangers beach blanket!

"This is really not going according to plan," Ayame commented.

"Soon, the Minusaur will be gigantic and stomp your precious city flat, and there's nothing you can do to stop it!"

"Ryusoul Change!" five voices called out.

Que Bom!

"Uh oh…"

Ryu So Cool! Bwahahahahaha!

A Super Sentai group appeared on the scene.

"ALL OF YOU; GET THEM!" Kureon commanded.

"HayaSoul!" Ryusoul Green called, flipping the dinosaur head into a knight figurine and inserting it into the mouth of his sword.

HayaSoul! Ryu Soul! Soul! Soul! Kono Kanji! HayaSoul!

Byun!

Ryusoul Green raced around at high speed, cutting down a bunch of the grunts.

"OmaSoul!" Ryusoul Pink declared.

OmaSoul! Ryu Soul! Soul! Soul! Kono Kanji! OmaSoul!

Don!

She slammed the ground with the ball, and flip-flopped gravity, suspending the grunts in midair.

"NobiSoul!" Ryusoul Blue called.

NobiSoul! Ryu Soul! Soul! Soul! Kono Kanji! NobiSoul!

Biyon!

His sword blade snaked out and struck the foot soldiers in rapid succession, destroying a bunch.

Another group headed for Ryusoul Black, but he activated the KataSoul just in time their attacks struck with a "Katchin!"

"My turn!" Ryusoul Red declared. "KusaSoul!"

"No! Not that one!"

Ryusoul Red activated the auxiliary RyuSoul and expelled a putrid cloud of gas!

"I hope the air filters in this helmet can keep up!" Ayame coughed.

When the cloud cleared, both Kureon and the Minusaur were gone.

"It got away!" Ryusoul Red exclaimed.

"That's because of your stupidity!" Ryusoul Pink declared, whacking him upside the head.

Everyone powered down, revealing the five strangers clad in fantasy medievalish garb.

"Okay, who are you people, and what are you doing here?" Ayame asked quickly.

"We're the Ryusoulgers, the 43rd Super Sentai team! I'm Koh; that's Melt, Asuna, Towa, and Bamba."

"Um, before we answer your questions, would it be possible to get some food? We're starving!" Asuna exclaimed.

"We heard about this great place where we can eat for free!" Koh exclaimed.

Later, at Ishinomori's, the restaurant founded to celebrate tokusatsu heroes who wore spandex and rode motorcycles but drew the line at giants of light, the Ryusoulgers, along with Ayame and Navcase, gathered to compare notes.

"To answer your second question, we're here because of that Minusaur." Melt explained.

"Minu-what?" Ayame asked.

"Minusaur. A monster created from human desires that consumes the host's energy to become a giant."

"We have to stop it before it consumes all the host's energy. Otherwise, they'll die!" Asuna explained.

"We think that it was created from my sister's desire not to fight monsters and lie on the beach all day. Does that mean she's in danger?"

Suddenly, a playing card embedded itself in their table, causing everyone to jump, including Navcase, who instinctively went for his sword, forgetting that he and the Ryusoulgers had been asked to lock away their weapons for the time being.

Melt reached over and pulled it free and read it.

"' Here's an advance notice: I'm Haruka, and I'll be your server today.'"

"Whew! I forgot that this was a theme restaurant!" Asuna sighed with relief.

"To answer your question, yes. That's why it's imperative we stop it as soon as possible. Otherwise, we'll need to take more drastic measures to deal with it." Bamba said.

"And by drastic measures, he means killing your sister," Towa explained.

"Towa!" Bamba shouted.

"Ohhh no you don't!" Ayame warned. "And that monster also turned the rest of my sisters and some of my friends into beach items, so I think that means we're going with Option A."

"Besides Bamba, I thought we were past that!" Koh chimed in.

Their argument was put on hold as a waitress dressed as Lupin Yellow came to their table to take their drink orders. As she headed off to fill them, Ayame explained her situation.

"My sisters and Navcase are here because someone we know has allied themselves with the Ranger's enemies, the Nighlok. Unfortunately, as I said, most of my sisters got turned into beach supplies by the Minusaur, and it's draining energy from another, so we seriously need to hurry and take that thing out before it can do any real harm."

"We'll be more than happy to help you, right after we eat!"

"Koh, the monster could be stomping the city by then!" Melt commented.

"Well, we'll eat fast then!"

Meanwhile, the others were en route to the first site marked on Ayame's list, when a horde of Grinders and one of Houji's unique models appeared in the road in front of them.

"Think they're trying to stop us from reaching the site?" Mike asked.

"Maybe?" Kevin replied.

"What do we have to work with?" Antonio asked.

Just our Mega Blades and the Shark Saber." Kevin replied. "Hope that'll be enough."

The four got out of the SUV and stood in front of it as the bots slowly approached.

"Samuraizer! Go Go Samurai!" they shouted.

Each drew their respective kanji in the air and flipped it, as it formed their Ranger suits and they unsheathed their Spin Swords.

"Mega Blades!" they called, spinning the Common Disc in the opposite direction to transform them.

"Shark Attack Mode!" Kevin called out, summoning the Shark Saber.

The four Ranges charged into battle, weapons at the ready to deal with the enemy robots.

"Probably best to gang up on the tough looking one first and then spread out to take care of the rest!" Kevin suggested.

This time, Kinji's Super Grinder resembled a praying mantis, except for the head. The group brought their blades down on his, but he parried and bit into theirs more than they bit into his.

"I would say it wouldn't be too fantastico if he hit us with those," Antonio observed.

"But what are we supposed to do? We only have one weapon that's not slashy, and even so, it's better up close!" Emily wailed.

"No. We do have a ranged weapon. Mike, you take the Shark Sword. I didn't think this through." Kevin explained, removing the Disc and tossing it to him.

He then brought out his Hydro Bow and fired a volley into the air that rained down pointy death on the bots. The mantis Grinder responded by shimmering out of existence.

"That thing can cloak?" Mike exclaimed.

"Oh no!" Emily added.

"I'll see if I can hit it by accident," Kevin assured them, firing volleys into the air and hoping that the indirect fire would have a direct hit on the Super Grinder. But alas, the next indication of its presence was when it opened fire with its lasers on Mike.

"Mike!" Emily exclaimed in horror.

"This is not good! We need to find some way to make this golden again!" Antonio exclaimed.

As if in answer to his request, a portal opened, and the GO-ONGER drove through it! It pulled to a stop, and a Gold Ranger, two dark-skinned guys and a blonde white girl got out.

"Who're these guys?" Mike asked. "Did the RPM Rangers retire or something?"

"It's Morphin' Time!" one shouted, as they all pressed their wristwatches that expanded into morphers. They then brought out sticks with green points.

"Activate Beast Power!" they shouted, sticking the sticks/keys into their morphers, causing them to be surrounded by color-coded tornados with a cheetah, gorilla, and rabbit in them, as their visors finally locked into place.

"Unleash the Beast!" they called, posing dramatically.

"Transport! Beast-X Blaster!"

The weapons appeared in their hands, and they aimed them at the other Grinders and opened fire to start thinning the enemy ranks.

"Who are you guys?" Kevin asked.

"Power Rangers Beast Morphers! Dr. K and our gadget guy Nate did a little work on this puppy, and now it can travel inter-dimensionally!" Red explained.

Each of the Beast Morphers paired off with one of the Samurai, Red with Kevin, Blue with Mike, Yellow with Emily, and Gold with Antonio.

'Hey, you got a name, so I don't have to call you Red?" Kevin asked.

"It's Devon."

"Kevin."

"Nice to meet you, Kevin. Now let's get these guys! Transport! Beast-X Saber!"

The two went on the attack, slashing at Grinders left and right, before taking one out with a combined finisher.

"Dragon Splash!"

"Beast-X Saber Slash!"

"I'm Ravi, and you are?"

"Mike."

He reached out his hand, but Ravi fired right past him, hitting an approaching Grinder.

"Thanks, man."

"Stay focused; there are more of them."

"Hi, I'm Emily!"

"I'm Zoey."

"There are so many Grinders! This could be a big problem!" Emily wailed.

"Well, I'm not afraid of big problems; I solve big problems! Beast-X Blast!"

Zoey fired several shots from her blaster that took out a bunch of the Grinders.

Gold's morpher rang, and he had to take the call while slashing away at Grinders.

"What is it Steel?"

"Nate, is it all right if I come out of the GO-ONGER? I really want to help!"

"We went through this; someone needs to watch the GO-ONGER because it's our ticket out of here and Scott's dad will kill us if we break it."

"But I'm a robot! You can just put me back together!"

"Steel, I can't do that if I'm dead."

"You're right! Okay, I'll stay in the van."

"Fantastico! Us Golds got to stick together! I'm Antonio, by the way."

"Nate."

"Nate, check this out!"

Antonio moved with incredible speed filleting a Grinder.

"Let's see that again!"

An instant replay showed exactly what Antonio did.

"Golden!"

As Antonio stood there admiring his handiwork, Nate had to push him aside to deliver a finishing shot to another Grinder. Additional teamwork brought down the rest of the regular Grinders, leaving only the Super model.

"Well try and wear him down, and you guys can blast him! Three Element Triple Strike!"

The three standard Samurai Rangers flew past the Super Grinder channeling Symbol Power into their Mega Blades, as Antonio followed up with a Barracuda Bite.

"Beast-X Cannon, Ready!" the Beast Morphers announced, combining their two weapons. "Beast-X Cannon Blast!"

"Gold Morpher Blast!" Nate added.

The attacks struck the Super Grinder and blew it to kingdom come.

"Hey, you guys have time to stick around? We could use the help." Kevin asked.

"No, sorry, have to take a rain check on that. Evil cobra computer virus trying to enter our world and steal the power of the Morphing Grid and all that. But maybe we can team up some other time?" Devon replied.

"Plus, this guy with a special Morpher would get really upset if we made social calls with it, we're the new guys on the block," Ravi added.

The Beast Morphers got back into the GO-ONGER and drove through yet another portal to leave.

"Well, that was fun, but we still don't know where Jayden and the Nighlok are!" Mike shouted.

"For now, let's continue our search. Hopefully, the others are having better luck on their end." Kevin hoped.

Meanwhile, the Ryusoulgers, Ayame, and Navcase had finished eating and made their way back towards the beach, Suiren, and the Minusaur.

"Back for more punishment?" Kureon asked them. "Man, I wish Tankjo was still around, he'd give you a good pounding! Instead, I have to put up with these idiots!"

"Let's go!" Koh announced as the five pulled out their respective Ryusouls, and then butterfly opened them into keys.

"Ryusoul Change!" they called, inserting them into the back of their Changers.

Que Bom!

Little figurines began dancing around them with a

Wassei Wassei! Sou! Sou! Sou! Wassei Wassei! Sore Sore Sore!

Ryu So Cool! Bwahahahahaha!

The figurines leaped onto the Ryusoulgers, forming their suits before their helmets chomped down over their heads.

"The Valorous Knight! Ryusoul Red!"

"The Wise Knight! Ryusoul Blue!"

"The Stalwart Knight! Ryusoul Pink!"

"The Gusting Knight! Ryusoul Green!"

"The Regal Knight! Ryusoul Black!"

The five placed the tips of their swords together.

"These five swords are pledged to justice! Kishiryuu Sentai! Ryusoulger!"

"Now, behold a knight's chivalry!" Koh declared, as there was a rumbling, as the giant sand castle collapsed and a full Megazord-sized Minusaur appeared.

"Now, behold a full-grown Minusaur! Go stomp the city flat!" Kureon encouraged it.

"I really hope you've got something to deal with that thing!" Ayame exclaimed.

"Of course!" Koh replied, pressing the red button on his Changer. "Tyramigo!"

"Triken!" Melt called.

"Ankyrose!" Asuna called.

"Tigerlance!" Sowa called.

"Milneedle!" Bamba finished.

A quintet of giant robot dinosaurs began making their way down the streets of Panorama, as the five brought out identical Ryusouls from their belt buckles and tossed them in the direction of their Kishiryuu.

"Ryusoul Gattai!"

Tyramigo began to turn into a humanoid, as the others started to break apart and attach themselves like Legos to it.

"Complete! Kishiryuu-Oh Five Knights!" they announced.

"Tyranno Burst!" Koh declared, firing a blast of flame from the T-rex head at the Minusaur, chipping away at its armor.

"Tiger Slash!" Sowa declared, striking with the sizeable triangular sword.

"Triken Cutter!" Melt declared as it cut with the giant sword blade sticking out of its shoulder.

"Ankyrose Shot!" Asuna chimed in, firing the minigun on the other shoulder.

"Needle Attack!" Bamba called, thrusting with its chest, which caused the rest of its shell armor to break off and fall to the ground.

"Five Knights Ultimate Slash!" they declared, slashing multiple times with projections of each of the five Kishiryuu-Oh, sending it down in flames.

Upon its destruction, the stolen energy returned to Suiren, and the She-Ronin and Samurai Rangers turned into beach items changed back to normal, just in time to get a call from Kevin.

"Lauren, you there?"

"Yeah, what's up?" she asked hesitantly.

"We found Jayden. But you better hurry, it looks like that Tenma dude has already started!" Kevin explained.

Lauren heard some shouting in the background before Kevin hung up.

"Kevin? Kevin!" she shouted into her phone before turning to the others. "We've gotta move, ASAP."

"Huh?" Suiren moaned as she started to wake up. "I had the weirdest dream…"

"Suiren, we've gotta move. The others found Jayden, but Tenma's already started.

"Well, why didn't you say so? How are we going to get everyone there though?" she asked.

With Lauren and Mia hanging on for dear life, the She-Ronin flew at breakneck speed to the coordinates Ayame triangulated from the phone conversation.

"You better be right Ayame," Sakura said.

"Please, I'm always right! We'll get to Kevin and the others in time, don't worry."

The group touched down after flaring above the area and then proceeded into the cave, which began to open up into a temple.

"Had I known this was underneath the city all this time, we should have sealed this off long ago." Lauren mused.

"Don't beat yourself up, Lauren. The Nighlok have been attacking Earth for centuries now. It's not your fault per se, more your ancestors?" Mia tried to reassure her.

"Mia, don't think you're helping. After all, we all just found out that your archenemies built a contingency plan underneath the city." Ayame reminded them.

"What's that up ahead?" Suiren wondered, seeing a waving light coming towards them.

Everyone tensed up and readied their weapons, as the light moved closer and closer, only for them to breathe a sigh of relief as it was Antonio.

"Follow me." He whispered, leading the girls through the tunnels until they were back with Kevin, Mike, and Emily.

"What's he up to?" Lauren whispered to Kevin.

"It looks like he's started whatever we thought he was going to do. Jayden's over in a corner, but he's well-guarded."

"Suiren can probably sneak over there, but we'll need more than that to stop Tenma," Sakura suggested.

"You girls wouldn't happen to know how to stop it, would you?" Mike asked.

"Sadly, no. We're not even sure what he's trying to do exactly; revive Xandred, become him, double-cross squid boy and resurrect Drakka, who knows? What we do know, however, is that he needs Jayden to do it. So the best way to put the kibosh on his plans is to remove Jayden from the equation." Sakura explained.

"Well, in that case, it's time for me to disappear," Suiren replied, activating her cloak and heading off towards Jayden.

Jayden was well chained up, and Tenma was completely oblivious as he concentrated on the runes he had laid out. With no idea as to how far along he was, Suiren quickly and quietly made her way past the guards towards Jayden.

"Okay, I'm in position." She whispered into her comm.

"Go for it!" Sakura whispered back.

Suiren uncloaked, cut Jayden's chains, and grabbed him and made a beeline for the exit.

"NOOO! DO YOU REALIZE WHAT YOU'VE DONE?!" Tenma bellowed.

"Um, not exactly, all we know is he's important so if you'll excuse us…" Suiren answered.

All of a sudden, the ground began to rumble, and the walls shook.

"Probably a good idea to get the heck out of here!" Kevin shouted.

"You guys get out of here! We'll hold them off as long as we can!" Sakura shot back.

"But…"

"No buts! Our armor can probably withstand a cave in, your spandex probably not. And before she calls us again, WE KNOW IT'S NOT!" Sakura demanded.

The Samurai headed towards the exit while the girls charged forward against the Moogers, as Suiren sent Jayden on his way and joined her sisters.

"Um, Sakura? Might be a good idea for us to beat feet too!" Ayame insisted.

"You're right; let's go!" Sakura replied as she took down enough of the Moogers to escape. The five ran towards the exit as fast as they could, but a sudden cave-in in front sealed their way out. Just as they turned to go back the way they came; it too blocked their path.

The Samurai raced clear of the cave before it collapsed in on itself.

"Think they're okay?" Mike wondered.

"It'll take more than a cave-in to stop Sakura; I'm sure of that," Jayden assured him.

"But what about that Tenma guy? Did we stop him?" Antonio wondered.

As if in answer, there was a rumble, and a form shot out of it and alighted before the Samurai. It looked like Xandred, but it was much taller and had demonic wings and a giant spiked club.

"Those meddling She-Ronin…forcing me to sacrifice my humanity to revive Xandred into myself!" Tenma's voice said before it changed to Xandred's.

"Ah, Samurai Rangers. You may have succeeded last time, but you will not be so lucky this time!"

The six readied their weapons as Xandred launched into diabolical laughter.

This nearly brings our story to a close…
