Nothing? No suggestions for the name? If there's more than or equal to 5 in the next week, and from 5 different people, though be glad to suggest multiple names, I'll do it. But if it's less than 5, my and my friend Panther will chose the knew name. And, please review. I got no happy replies that I'm continuing the story, only from my friend Panther.
Well, here's Chapter 9
Eaglepaw woke up, stretching. It's been about 2 moons, and she was almost ready to go home. She was excited, barely able to keep herself calm. Flamepaw had been visiting her regularly, making sure she had a clean nest and food. Even though Eaglepaw didn't want a relationship outside of being friends, Echosong said it was a load off her back. Eaglepaw allowed him to do so, saying it was nice to have company once in a while. They did share a meal sometimes while Eaglepaw would talk about home, while Flamepaw would listen. Eaglepaw was beginning to like him, though it seemed wrong. She didn't like the feeling, cause it seemed wrong to like a tom. But, she just kept shrugging it off, thinking that she might as well live a happy life.
"Ready to go home?" Echosong asked, making Eaglepaw jump, pulling her out of her thoughts. She was so deep in her thoughts that her eyes had become unfocused, and had they had to refocus. She saw the tabby standing there, looking at her innocently, like she was pretending that she wasn't trying to figure out what Eaglepaw was thinking. Which she probably already have.
"Yes, I am," Eaglepaw answered, trying to contain her excitement. She got up, stretching. Her body still ached, but Echosong said that the long walk before them would help loosen up the muscles and stretch them out. After that, they shouldn't bother her anymore.
Echosong led the way out, with Eaglepaw following, and out into the clearing, which really was just flat, rocky ground at the bottom of the gorge. Out here were a few cats gathering getting ready to say good-bye to the Thunderclan apprentices. Eaglepaw padded up to Marigoldpaw and Icepaw, who, after having a talk with Echosong, finally accepted what had happened to them and to move on with their lives. She saw Flamepaw come running up to her. "Hey," he meowed, stopping about a half tail length in front of her. "So, you're leaving?" he asked, hope in his eyes, as if he was hoping that Eaglepaw would change her mind to stay, and to stay with him.
She nodded. "Yeah," she meowed, sighing. She noticed Flamepaw looked a little disappointed. "Look, Flamepaw, you're a great friend, and would have never made it through those 3 moons that I was stuck here, and I'm really grateful for that," she meowed, sitting next to him, close enough that their fur touched, barely, but nether-the-less, touched. "It would have never worked between us, I'm sorry," she lied, knowing that she had a chance at a good life, but turning it down.
He sniffed a little. "It's ok, at least I made a great friend, too," he purred, smiling. "I had 2 great moons spending time with you. Good luck on your walk back home," he meowed, licking her cheek. And with that, he got up and padded away. Eaglepaw looked at him, longing for him to come with, but she knew that it would never happen.
"Eaglepaw?" a voice called, making turn around. She saw Leafstar and Echosong standing there, a few tail lengths off from the group of cats.
"Yes?" Eaglepaw asked, padding up to them, and sitting down. She noticed three leafs wrapped around a bunch of herbs in front of Echosong. Must be traveling herbs, she thought. Though, that's not what Leafstar and Echosong wanted to talk to her about. "Look, me and Leafstar both know what happened to you, Marigoldpaw, and Icepaw-" Echosong started saying, but Eaglepaw interrupted her.
"You promised you'd never tell anyone!" Eaglepaw growled, a little angry. She was thrashing her tail back and forth, mad at Echosong for breaking her promise.
"She only told me," Leafstar meowed, a bit of anger in her voice, "I promise."
"Well, then what did you want to talk to me about," Eaglepaw asked, calming down.
"About Flamepaw," both Echosong and Leafstar said at once. Eaglepaw frowned, mad that the topic of Flamepaw and her kept finding its way back to her conversations.
"Look, we know that you don't "like, like" him," Echosong explained. "But I've seen you coming around to him, and don't deny it." Eaglepaw flattened her ears, nodding, admitting that she did like him.
"What are you trying to say?" she asked, confused why they would bring this up for no reason.
Leafstar stepped forward. "What we're trying to say is,... That you're welcome to come back if... If things don't work out back home," Leafstar answered softly.
Eaglepaw grew mad. "How can you say that?! Just because... THAT... happened to me, it doesn't mean that my own clan won't except me back for who I am," she snapped. She got up and walked away, thinking of what they said. She went over to the group of cats that was gathering, and had her fair share of talking & good-byes. They talked till it was nearly sun-high, before Echosong called Eaglepaw, Marigoldpaw, and Icepaw over to get their traveling herbs. She ate the them, almost gagging at the taste they left in her mouth. Leafstar padded up to them.
"Now, I know this is a long trek back to your clan, so, if anything happens, or if you can't make it, be glad to come back," she meowed in a serious tone. All of the apprentices nodded. "Good," Leafstar purred. "Now, fare well! And may Starclan light your path," she meowed, nudging them to go. The apprentices head up the path to the camp entrance, said a final good-bye, and vanished into the territory.
I now it's short, but it's still a chapter. I'll look forward to reviews, its what help me through school. XD
